The barn is located somewhere in or near Mystic Falls. It was used for the wedding between Alaric Saltzman and Josette Laughlin.

Season Six
In I'll Wed You in the Golden Summertime, Caroline offered Jo to help organize the wedding after the wedding planner got sick. Caroline also urged Tyler to work things out with Liv. At cocktail reception, Stefan talked to Elena about the human Damon. Bonnie and Matt bought flowers and went to chekck up on Lily at the Salvatore Boarding House but they were knocked down. Jo's father visited her before the wedding. Damon and Elena had sex right before the wedding and were late. Jo's father walked her down the aisle. Jo and Alaric wrote their own vows. Jo begins hers but suddenly starts gasping. Stab wounds appear in her abdomen, then Kai appears. He cripples everyone in the barn with his magic then blows out the window, sending Elena crashing to the floor.
I'm Thinking Of You All The While, Kai put Elena in a coma and killed himself with a vampire's blood in his system, almost instantly killing members of the Gemini Coven. Liv asked Tyler to kill her, triggering his werewolf curse. Alaric carried out his dead wife's body to the car and tried to kill himself by shooting in the head, when Kai appeared. He tried shooting him, but Tyler saved him by biting Kai. Kai also tried to kill Bonnie, but was saved by Damon Salvatore.
