Ye Olde Uns is the tenth episode and tenth episode overall of Tyler Gracyne’s fanon series Something Witchy Comes This Way, a spin-off created from the events of the Season Four finale.

Synopsis'

THE OLD ONES — More dangerous than ever, Silas enlists the help of a powerful Bennett Witch to back him with his even stronger secret weapon: a Crystal of Bezel. The MFG come to terms with the truth about the Petrova and Salvation Doppelgängers as Daniel Salvations explains his knowledge. When he spends time with Katherine, Aaron finds himself in a rather steamy situation before things take a dangerous turn when Theo and Tayler find Lucy, with her, a dangerous discovery. Elsewhere, Tessa, Stefan, Damon, Elena, Tyler and Caroline learn of another turn to the story of the First Immortals and the Romani People along with the Other Side.

Plot Summary

Elena and Abby discover from “Daniel” the truth about who and exactly what he is while Damon finds Stefan in the clutches of Tessa, who insists Stefan is free to do whatever he wishes but is pushed to her limits when Damon insists she resurrect his memories.

Katherine leaves Matt to deal with a desperate April, who reveals a shocking secret about her new condition.

Silas and Lucy know Daniel’s whereabouts and Silas pushes Lucy to bring him to the fold, when she refuses; having to use her time to prepare to absorb the full power of Expression, Silas decides to send the Old Ones to the manor to do his work for him, gladly, they accept.

Meanwhile, Katherine goes to Whitmore, finding a young human to spend the day with as her meal card, she finds that she misses being “Katerina Petrova” more than she misses “Katherine Pierce”.

Theo finds Elena and Abby at the Salvatore Mansion and brings them to his sister’s home near Whitmore where, met by Caroline and Tyler, they learn more about the Old Ones.

Elsewhere, Jeremy finds a book with an Old English title: Ye Olde Uns along with more information concerning the family of the deceased Megan.

DANIEL, ABBY AND ELENA SIT IN THE SALVATORE LOUNGE.

ELENA: What do you mean you’re a Salvatore?

DANIEL: My mother, Caitlin Shane, she was originally Caitlin Salvatrice, her last name’s a form of “Salvatore” and “Salvation”. She was Zach Salvatore’s sister.”

ELENA: Wait, Zach had a sister?”

DANIEL: Do we have to do this now?

ABBY: We gave you all night to rest and get your story straight, get to it.

DANIEL: (NODS/SIGHS) Yes, she was Zach’s sister. When their mother, a psychic, was killed by a vampire, Zach sent his two sisters away from Mystic Falls and changed their last names to “Salvatrice”. One of them was my mother, Caitlin.

ELENA: Caitlin . . . that sounds so familiar.

DANIEL: That’s because you knew my dad. His name was Shane – Atticus Shane.

ELENA: Shane’s your DAD?

DANIEL: (NODS)

ELENA: (SHOCKED) And . . . your mother, Caitlin, she was a witch. I remember now.

DANIEL: Yes, my mother was a witch. She died using Expression –

ELENA: Trying to resurrect you. But didn’t she fail? And wasn’t your name Sam?

DANIEL: (LOOKS SAD) My mother’s spell worked, she managed to resurrect me, but Nature spun it around so that when I was resurrected, she died, so technically, it didn’t work, she just took her life for mine. My mother’s coven was angry with her and they wanted to balance out Nature by killing me, so I ran away and I go by my middle name “Daniel”.

ELENA: (CONFUSED) But that doesn’t make any sense. If you were really alive all along, why did Shane do all that Silas wanted him to? I mean, it was all to resurrect you and Caitlin.

DANIEL: (CLUTCHES HIS FISTS) Because Silas brainwashed him. One minute he’s sitting with me at dinner after Mom’s funeral, the next his going off to some island in Nova Scotia. I went with him. When we got there, Silas got into his head and suddenly, I wasn’t standing right in front of him, I was dead and he was talking crap about finding a way to bring me and Mom back from Hell. Soon, I figured out why, Silas had gotten into his head and made him believe was dead. His psychic powers were too strong, I tried to bring him back to the present, but then my Mom’s coven found me and that’s when I knew I had to leave my dad. And . . . here I am, still running.

ELENA: I’m sorry.

DANIEL: Yeah, so am I.

ABBY: So you’re a witch? Sorry, but what you did earlier DID NOT look like witch magic.

DANIEL: (SHAKES HIS HEAD) No, I’m a Guardian.

ABBY: (FROWNS IN CONFUSION) What’s that?

DANIEL: (SIGHS) I’m an angel.

===2. INT.QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. DAY. ===

STEFAN WOKE UP FEELING LIKE HELL. THERE WAS A RINGING IN HIS HEAD LIKE HE WAS HUNG-OVER.

HE LOOKED AROUND, A BUNCH OF WHISKEY AND WINE BOTTLES WERE LAID WASTE ON THE GROUND OF A CLASSY LIVING ROOM.

STEFAN: (CONFUSEDLY) Where the hell am I?

UNSEEN FROM BEHIND HIM (TESSA): You’re probably in hell.

STEFAN: (TURNS AROUND) Oh, Tessa, right.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (REALIZES) You’re confused, is that the amnesia or . . . the tequila?

STEFAN: I think both. I’m still . . . trying to piece together last night.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (SMILES) We bonded over our misery. We got a ton of liquor. The misery lifted.

STEFAN: (STILL HUNG-OVER, GROANS) With the witch who wiped my memory of a crappy love story.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Makes sense, right? (STANDS) Though I think you should probably get out of here before the others start to worry about you.

STEFAN: (CACKLES) You mean my brother, who didn’t tell me he was in a romantic relationship with my ex-true love, who lead me through our most intimate memories only to then tell me that she was in love with Damon.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Wow, compared to that, losing your memories seems like a day in a park.

STEFAN: Wasn’t there someone else here last night?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Yes, my two-thousand-year-old-baby-brother knows how to spice up a party.

STEFAN: Where is he?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Oh, Theo’s gone to conspire to take out your doppelgänger.

STEFAN: Sil-whatever?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: His name is Silas. I linked your mind to his so I could distort his psychic powers. (LOOKS TO THE SIDE) Can I ask you something?

STEFAN: (Rubs his neck) Sure?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: I need your help. You know I removed Silas’s powers, but I had to link his mind to yours to do it. It had a downside for both of you. Silas lost his psychic powers, you lost your memories. It’ll remain that way until the link is broken or Silas’s mortal again.

STEFAN: So, my memories are gone only because I’m linked to Silas?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (NODS) I didn’t do it out of spite as I imagine Damon and Elena emphasized.

STEFAN: And what do you want to ask?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Because you’re still linked, I can use you to locate Silas wherever on Earth he may be. I want your permission to do it.

STEFAN: Did you ask the first time?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Would you believe me if say yes?

STEFAN: I’m not sure what to believe anymore.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Well, the answer’s yes. I did get your permission before it happened.

STEFAN IS ABOUT TO SAY SOMETHING WHEN THE DOOR OF THE MANSION BLOWS OPEN. DAMON STANDS THERE.

DAMON: Sorry to break up Conversations With A Witch, but your would-be second chance with Silas’s stunt-double timed out, Tessa. (LOOKS AROUND AND AT STEFAN) I’m here for my brother.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: And what makes you think that he wants to go anywhere with you?

DAMON: I knew you’d probably abduct him again, Tessa. Come on Stefan, let’s get the hell outta here.

STEFAN: I’m not going anywhere with you, Damon.

DAMON: (FROWNS AT TESSA) What’ve you placed a compulsion spell on him or something?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: I’ve done nothing. Stefan, why don’t you tell him why you’re here?

STEFAN: I was with Elena, she spent the day showing me the highlights of our broken relationship. And then when I was falling in love with her all over again, she tells me that she’s with you, my brother Damon.

DAMON: (REALIZES) Huh.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Heard it from the horse’s mouth. (SMILES) Suddenly, me taking Stefan’s memories isn’t half as bad as having you for an older brother.

DAMON: (HESITATES) Yeah, I . . . may have left that part out.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: You think?

CUT TO:

3. EXT. BEHIND THE GRILL. DAY.

MATT, KATHERINE AND APRIL WERE STANDING BY THE BACKDOOR OF THE GRILL. KATHERINE HAS HER HANDS CROSSED AS MATT ENTERTAINS APRIL.

MATT: Start from the beginning, April. What do you mean you’re a vampire?

APRIL: (ANXIOUS) I don’t even know where to start.

KATHERINE: (ROLLS EYES) Start from the beginning, April.

APRIL: OK. (TAKES A DEEP BREATH) I went on an extended holiday to this tropical island and while I was at this resort, I met this totally hot, silver-haired guy and we . . . met repeatedly, we became good friends –

KATHERINE: (SIGHS) I’m guessing you slept together?

APRIL: (HESITATES) Anyway, I started to realize some weird thing about him.

KATHERINE: What kinds of things?

MATT: April, you can trust us, okay? Um, Elena and I can help.

APRIL: His canine teeth were extremely sharp. He was pale and . . . I only ever saw him at night and we’d party until we passed out. I’d wake up with this weird rash that he had me convinced was heat rash. When I finally left I started having these . . . visions . . . these memories of nights when we’d spend time under the stars . . . (GETS LOST IN HER SWOON) Talking, cuddling . . . until one day he told me that he was a vampire and for some reason I wasn’t afraid because of everything I knew. That’s . . . that’s all I can piece together so far.

KATHERINE: (DROPS HER HEAD AND LOOKS AT APRIL WITH HER EYES BY HER FOREHEAD) That’s it? Is that it?

MATT: Why does that make you think you’re a vampire?

KATHERINE: (BORED) Because, when you become a vampire, you start to remember all the parts that you’ve forgotten, all the times you were compelled, it’s kinda like a supernatural wake-up call.

APRIL: I remember you telling me about it, Elena.

KATHERINE: (PRETENEDS TO REMEMBER) Right! That’s why you came here.

MATT: How long has this been happening?

APRIL: Since I got back. A few weeks, now.

KATHERINE: (SHAKES HER HEAD) No, it’s too long, April. If you were turning, you would’ve died a long time ago. It’s takes a day to complete the transition. If you don’t, the magic that brought you back sends you back.

APRIL: (NERVOUSLY) Then why am I remembering? Why else would I be . . .?

MATT: Would be what? (GRABS HER SHOULDERS) Would be what, APRIL?

KATHERINE: (PLAYING A FAKE SINCERE ELENA) April, you need to tell us everything. We want to help you.

APRIL: (BREATHES DEEP) I’ve been having . . .

KATHERINE: (REALIZES) You’ve been having cravings.

APRIL: (ON THE VERGE OF TEARS) What the hell is happening to me? If I’m not a vampire, then what the hell am I?

KATHERINE RECIEVES A TEXT: Where R U?! I need 2 C U @ Whitmore, it’s IMPORTANT! – NADIA.

KATHERINE: (QUICKLY) Uhm, listen. I have to go, something’s come up.

APRIL: (GRABS HER ARM) Please, Elena, help me.

KATHERINE: (SIGHS/BORED/STILL PLAYING ELENA) I can, and I will. I just have to go deal with this, it’s family-drama. But as soon as it’s over, I, Elena Gilbert, promise to help you figure out what’s going on with you. I’m SO sorry.

KATHERINE WALKS AWAY, LEAVING AN ANXIOUS APRIL AND MATT BEHIND.

CUT TO:

4. INT. THE OLD MANSION – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

SILAS IS STANDING NEXT TO LUCY BY THE FIREPLACE. LUCY IS KNEELING WITH HER HANDS IN THE FLAMES BUT THEY DO NOT BURN HER SKIN, INSTEAD, THE FIRE TURNS BLACK.

SILAS: Any luck? You’ve been trying all night.

LUCY: . . . my magic’s not picking anything up.

SILAS: Come on, LUCY! Aurum couldn’t’ve just vanished!

LUCY: (STANDS) I’m sorry, Silas, but I’m supposed to be preparing myself and my power to merge with the Expression Triangle. Remember? The one you put me up to? I can’t be doing side spells if I want to be strong enough for the process. I’m supposed to be doing everything else either than finding your pet Old One.

SILAS: (SHAKES HIS HEAD) Fine, do what you will to prepare, Lucy. As long as you’re still devoted to me. Aurum, on the other hand . . . . You said you sent him to find Sam, right?

LUCY: (NODS) Yes, after I located him, I sent him to bring Sam back to me alive.

SILAS: And he hasn’t come back . . . I wonder . . . (DECIDES) Go to Whitmore for the day, I need you away from Mystic Falls today.

LUCY: What’s happening today?

SILAS: Oh, today was the day I first met Tessa two thousand years ago. Let’s just say it still bears some significance to the insane witch.

LUCY: (GRINS) Ease up, that’s my thousand-times-great-grandmother you’re talking about.

SILAS: (SHARES HER SMILE)

LUCY: Maybe I could help you. Where’s the Crystal?

SILAS: (RAISES EYEBROWS) Somewhere safe.

LUCY: I’m not trying to manipulate you, Silas. I need access to the Crystal you have so I can use its power to protect you.

SILAS: Or use it to destroy me. Let’s not forget how you started out in this mission for Expression.

LUCY: I’m loyal to you, Silas. But if you’re going to meet Tessa, you’ll need protection, especially now since you’re limited to your physical abilities.

SILAS: Can I trust you? I may be related to the Old Ones, but I’m not stupid.

LUCY: Yes, you can, Silas. If I have the Crystal and stay far away from you, then I can protect the Crystal and channel its power to cast a powerful protection spell on you.

SILAS: (PULLS A NECKLACE OUT FROM UNDER HIS SHIRT. ON IT IS A GREEN-BLUE CRYSTAL THAT SEEMS QUITE SOLID AND NORMAL) Here.

BEFORE LUCY CAN TAKE IT, SILAS HE PULLS SOME OF LUCY’S HAIR BACK AND WHISPERS IN HER EAR.

SILAS: Don’t try to manipulate me, or . . . (HE BITES HER EAR LIGHTLY) You’ll get hurt.

LUCY: (SHOVES SILAS AWAY FROM HER BUT LOOKS AMUSED) I thought you swore your chastity to Amara.

SILAS: See why I like you?

LUCY: (ROLLS HER EYES)

CUT TO:

5. INT. SALVATORE HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

ELENA: What do you mean by “you’re an angel”?

DANIEL: Just that.

ABBY AND ELENA GLANCE AT EACH OTHER IN A CONFUSED MANNER.

ELENA: What does that mean?

DANIEL: You saw my wings, right?

ABBY: Yes, but . . .

DANIEL: Forget that, it’s a long story, what’s more important is that I’m also a doppelgänger.

ELENA STILL FELT LIKE SHE NEEDED A BETTER EXPLANATION ON THE WHOLE “ANGEL” THING, BUT SHE WAS MORE CURIOUS ABOUT HOW HE LOOKED LIKE HER FORMER TRUE LOVE.

ELENA: How does that work? I thought it took five centuries for a doppelgänger to be born.

DANIEL: (SHAKES HIS HEAD) That’s a fabricated lie. Silas and Amara’s doppelgängers aren’t born every 500 years. It’s Nature’s way of balancing out –

THE FRONT DOOR BURSTS OPEN AND THEO STANDS THERE. HE SMILES AT THEM.

ELENA STANDS UP AND SO DO ABBY AND DANIEL.

THEO: Hello, locals. Care to join me on my midday tour through Mystic Falls?

END ACT I

ACT II

FADE INTO:

6. INT. SALVATORE HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

ELENA: Who the hell are you?

THEO: (WALKS INTO THE ROOM) My name is Theo. I’m related to a friend of yours, her name is Bonnie Bennett.

ABBY: What do you want?

THEO: My sister, Tessa, has requested an audience with all the existing doppelgängers today. I’m the messenger.

ELENA: Wait, you’re Qetsiyah’s brother?

THEO: I believe so. When you’re birthed from the same womb, determined by the same person’s sperm you are called brother and sister, right?

ELENA: (FROWNS) But, how?

THEO: Let’s just say I was imprisoned somewhere for 2,000 years to break my spirit. I persevered and here I am.

ABBY: Qetsiyah’s brother came back from the dead to tell us to go have tea and scones with his sister. LOVELY.

ELENA: I’m not going anywhere near that two-faced psychopath.

THEO: (SHRUGS) Did I forget to mention that my sister and I spent last night partying with a certain amnesiastic Silas-ganger. PS: at my sisters’ house.

ELENA: (LOOKS SHOCKED) Where is he?

CUT TO:

7. INT. THE GRILL. DAY.

MATT GIVES APRIL A GLASS OF SODA TO DRINK BY THE BAR.

MATT: Here.

APRIL: Thanks. (SHAKILY SIPS) So it wasn’t Elena?

MATT: No, that was her evil doppelgänger Katherine. She wouldn’t help you even if she knew something.

APRIL: And you can help me?

ALEC WALKS UP TO THEM FROM BEHIND APRIL.

ALEC: No, he can’t.

APRIL TURNS HER HEAD TO SEE HIM.

ALEC: But I can.

MATT: April, meet, my brother, Alec Donovan.

CUT TO:

8. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

DAMON: Stefan, trust me, you’re not the kind of person who hangs around sadistic, dishonest people like –

STEFAN: You?

DAMON: (GETS MILDLY ANNOYED) Can we go talk somewhere else? You know, a place where a 2,000-year-old-psycho-witch isn’t watching us bicker?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (SHRUGS) Hey, I’m only waiting for you brothers to finish so I can go on with my daily routine, such as doing spells with doppelgängers.

DAMON: Let me guess: You want something with Stefan’s blood – shocking. You obviously created this whole situation as a trap for my brother.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (LOOKS FAKE-CONFUSED) Is anyone in a trap? I don’t see any traps here.

DAMON: (ROLLS HIS EYES) Yeah, I’m sure. What is it with you Bennetts and doppelgängers, anyway?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: They’re very important to us. JSYK, my last name’s Benedictus. Over the centuries it’s changed to Benedict, my descendant Ayana was Ayana Bénédiction; the Witch of the Five was Glorianna Benedict. I believe you’ve met one of my heirs, Sage Bénnétte?

DAMON: Wait, Sage is your family? No wonder she was so messed up.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (ROLLS HER EYES) And then by the time you met Emily, our surname had turned to Bennett.

DAMON: Nice story, warning next time?

STEFAN: She wants to use me to find Silas. You know? 1,000 years old, extremely sexy, immortal, serial killer . . . looks exactly like me?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: That’s . . . 2,000, actually.

DAMON: Let me guess, you said yes.

STEFAN: Actually, I didn’t get to, you rudely interrupted.

DAMON: (IGNORES STEFAN) You didn’t even give him a choice, did you?

BEFORE TESSA CAN ANSWER, STEFANS TALKS: I’m an immortally super-strong vampire. She’s a totally killable mortal witch; the odds are in whose favor?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (LAUGHS AMUSEDLY)

DAMON: Let’s skip the crazy-talk, Miss Crazy. You know the drill. I’ll rip your head from your shoulders unless you undo whatever witchy-woo you’ve got going on with my brother so we can all go home and enjoy Thanksgiving.

STEFAN: It’s June.

DAMON: (SHRUGS) Doesn’t matter.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Your temper, Damon, will get you killed. Remember what happened the last time you tried to play hotshot?

DAMON: Yeah, you surprise-attacked me with your magic. You’re not so powerful. You think just because you’ve done a spell and a half you’re invincible. Guess what? I’m not in the mood for surprises today.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (TILTS HER HEAD TO THE LEFT) Are you kidding? (LOOKS AT STEFAN) He is joking, right?

STEFAN: (GULPS DOWN A GLASS OF ALCOHOL) Don’t ask me. Shockingly, I have no idea who that person is.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Why do I even bother? I’ll try not to throw any surprises this time round.

DAMON: (LOOMS OVER HER) Heal Stefan’s memories.

STEFAN: (SIGHS) The link between me and “Cyrus”, or whatever, severs his psychic powers that’s sealed by my memory-loss.

DAMON: ANYTHING to keep you eating out of her palm.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: It’s the truth.

DAMON: Oh, yeah? I’ve witnessed linking spells happen first hand. When Elena was linked to Katherine there were no downsides except for the fact that what happened to the bitch happened to Elena.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (BEAMS) That was among my most favorite episodes . . . wouldn’t you love to go back and relive that?

STEFAN: (LOOKS AT STEFAN, IGNORING TESSA) So what he’s saying about Katherine and Elena is true?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: If I’m not mistaken. (NODS)

STEFAN: So he’s right? You’re just playing me?!

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (STANDS) No, my magic’s different from that magic. You see, when Lucy linked Katerina and Elena, she was using a lesser form of witchcraft balanced by Nature.

DAMON: Nonsense, all magic’s the same.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Is it? Think about it, Damon. Bonnie transitioned from Traditional Magic – her own magic – to Spiritual Magic to Black Magic in a year. All have different effects. Traditional and Spirit magic are bound by Nature. Traditional Magic’s effects depend on how powerful the witch is and Spirit Magic depends on how powerful the Spirits you channel are. Dark Magic is strong magic which is channeled from the darkest emotions of a witch, it depends on how strong your emotions of negativity are for it to take any effect and be bound. I recall you know enough about how Expression works – it’s bound to the witch who cast the spell, if she dies, her magic spells are undone and unbound. I practice a unique form of magic too. It’s called Romani Magic.

DAMON: Thanks for the crash course, Bitchiyah. Get to the point.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (SLIGHTLY GLARES AT DAMON) With the unique magic I practice, and as powerful as I am, I can choose what binds my spells. It’s a matchless trick my brother Theo and I learned when we were kids.

DAMON: Since you’re so “unique”; bring Stefan’s memories back.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: I’ve already chosen the balance to the spell. I can’t undo it without undoing the link or Curing Silas.

DAMON: So break the link.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: So that Silas can control us all over again. Do you even think?

DAMON: Then change the balance.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: It’s done, it can’t be changed without a great deal of magic.

DAMON: (STEPS THREATENINGLY CLOSE TO TESSA) so get the magic.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: You think I don’t?

DAMON: Yes, I do. I won’t ask again. (HE VAMPS TO TESSA)

TESSA SHOVES HER HAND IN DAMON’S DIRECTION AND TELEKINETICALLY THROWS HIM ACROSS THE ROOM TO THE DOOR.

STEFAN STANDS IN SURPRISE.

DAMON GROANS ON THE GROUND: BITCH.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: You caught me by surprise once. Don’t ever underestimate me again.

ELENA, THEO, ABBY AND DANIEL APPEAR AT THE DOORWAY.

THEO: (SMILES) This a bad time?

CUT TO:

9. EXT. WHITMORE CAMPUS. DAY.

THERE’S A CROWD OF STUDENTS AROUND CAMPUS SEEMINGLY AFTER CLASS. CAROLINE IS INDISTINCTIVELY TALKING WHILE TYLER LOOKS DISTRACTEDLY ACROSS THE CAMPUS.

TYLER COULDN’T STOP THING ABOUT THE ENCOUNTER IN THE WOODS WITH THAT WEIRD PACK AND THEIR “ELDER”. THE FEELING HE’D GOTTEN CALLING HIM TO THE SCENE HAD FELT . . . ALIEN, BUT SOMEHOW RIGHT, LIKE BEING CALLED BY YOUR FAMILY.

CAROLINE: (WAVES A HAND IN HIS FACE AFTER SHE NOTICES HIS ODD BEHAVIOR) Tyler? Did you hear one word I’ve said?

TYLER: (SHAKES HIS HEAD) No, sorry, Care.

CAROLINE: I thought I was the one who liked to overthink things in this relationship.

TYLER: I know. It’s just that I can’t stop thinking about what happened last night.

CAROLINE: You mean the whole “Original Pack” thing?

TYLER: (NODS) I wonder who Theresa Bennett is.

CAROLINE: Well, her last name’s “Bennett”, she must be related to Bonnie. Probably another witch.

TYLER: I wonder . . . what she knows about the Pack.

CAROLINE: Tyler? Why does your voice sound like you’re planning something?

TAYLER: (APPEARS BEHIND THEM) That’s probably because he is.

TYLER AND CAROLINE STAND UP.

CAROLINE: Who’re you?

TAYLER: (SHRUGS) Nobody as special as Theresa Bennett. But special, nonetheless.

TYLER: You were spying on us?

TAYLER: Before you get all “dogy” on me, I can tell you all you need to know about Theresa Bennett, in fact, I can introduce you to her. Like, now.

CAROLINE: (LOOKS AT HIM SUSPICIOUSLY) Who are you?

TAYLER: I’m a warlock. I’m . . . associated with a coven who hates Silas. Of course, we hate the Original Pack, too. But they’re a necessary evil: we’d rather associate with something that wants to destroy Silas. You guys seem to be among the only people who’ve stood against Silas and survived so . . . you seem like the best people to make an alliance with. So, trust me or not, right now I can take you to someone who can explain all this much better than I can.

CAROLINE: (GLANCES AT TYLER) It’s your decision.

CUT TO:

10. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

ELENA RUSHES TO DAMON’S SIDE.

ELENA: Are you okay?

DAMON: (GROANS) I will be once I’ve killed her.

ELENA: Is she even worth it? Let’s get out of here.

DAMON: We will. Let me rip her head off first.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Are you really planning on leaving without saying “hi” to your former-true-love?

ELENA FINALLY NOTICES STEFAN DRINKING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM.

ELENA: (STARTS FOR HIM) Stefan, thank Go –

STEFAN: Don’t. (SHAKES HIS HEAD) Please, just don’t.

ELENA LOOKS HURT FOR A MOMENT.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (GRINS AND STRETCHES HER HAND TO ABBY) I’m Qetsiyah. Presently known as Tessa, I’m pleased to meet you.

ABBY: (SHAKES HER HAND) The pleasure’s all mine. I’ve heard everything about you.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Trust me, dear. Not everything.

THEO: Are you gonna tell them why they’re here?

DANIEL HAS BEEN STUDYING STEFAN EVER SINCE HE GOT INTO THE HOUSE.

AS ELENA HELPS DAMON UP, STEFAN SAYS: You got something to say? TO DANIEL.

DANIEL: Sorry, it’s just . . . when I found out I was a doppelgänger . . . I didn’t realize just how much you’d look like me or . . . how I’d look like you.

STEFAN: (REALIZES) You’re the infamous Silas? Sorry if I seem disorientated. I’m amnesiac and a tad drunk. Plus, I have no idea what I look like.

DANIEL: No, actually, I’m not Silas. I’m Daniel. (OUTSTRETCHES HIS HAND TO STEFAN).

STEFAN: (FROWNS AT HIS HAND) Apparently, I’m Stefan Salvatore. It’s good know how I look. Can I ask, how many mes are there?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Virtually countless. But I knew almost every one of your doppelgängers.

ELENA: What do you mean by “countless”.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Just that. Doppelgängers have been popping up all over the place since Silas and that bitch Amara took the Immortalixir.

ELENA AND STEFAN IN UNISON: (FROWNS) The what?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: It’s the name I gave the Immortality Elixir, the formula Silas and Amara used to make themselves immortal. Doppelgängers, as a balance to the spell, have been accruing for the past 2,000 years in uncountable amounts. Before you start telling me about that lie of five centuries, let me tell you now, there’s no five hundred year period between the births of the Petrova and Salvation Doppelgänger lines.

ELENA: I don’t believe that. If it were true Klaus wouldn’t’ve needed me. He would’ve found some other totally usable doppelgänger to break his curse with.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: He would’ve, if he knew. The five-hundred-years thing was a plot started by Esther after she Cursed Klaus so that if he failed to find an Amara-gänger he’d be forced to wait that long.

DANIEL: She’s telling the truth.

ABBY: But if there’s no five-hundred-year period, how do they recur?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: It’s never specific –

DAMON: Then stop confusing us and tell us what you’re talking about already, Qetsy, or I’ll be forced rip from your –

ELENA: Damon . . . (GLARES AT TESSA BEFORE PULLING DAMON ASIDE) I don’t trust her any more than you do, but I think she wouldn’t make effort if she wasn’t desperate to get something from us, too.

DAMON GROANS.

ELENA: And . . . I have to say, if Stefan’s memories being erased was the only way to stop Silas from ruling us and all the people we love, I can’t say I’d do anything differently if I were her.

DAMON SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND. HE CUPS HER FACE IN HIS HANDS AND KISSES ELENA.

DAMON: Well, luckily for me, you’re not. I trust your instincts; we’ll give it a shot.

BEFORE ELENA AND DAMON CAN READDRESS TESSA, CAROLINE, TYLER AND TAYLER ENTER THE ROOM.

CAROLINE: (FROWNS AT ELENA) Elena? What’re you doing here?

ELENA: I could ask the exact same question.

TAYLER: Caroline, Tyler, meet Theresa Bennett. (HE GESTURES TO TESSA).

TYLER: You’re Theresa Bennett?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Good, we’re all here. Now we can really get started.

ELENA: What’re you talking about?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: You don’t know it yet, but it serves you all right to be here. Tyler wants to know about his family. Caroline’s supporting Tyler. Elena and Damon are protecting Damon and Daniel’s story’s connected to all of this. There’s one common enemy above that we have to defeat: Silas.

ABBY: One problem, why should we care if Silas is now powerless?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Because as powerless as he is, Silas may be the most powerful man alive.

ACT III

FADE INTO:

11. EXT. WHITMORE CAMPUS. NIGHT.

AROUND CAMPUS, STUDENTS ARE NETWORKING AND WALKING AROUND. IN THE CROWD OF STUDENTS, KATHERINE IS SEEN WALKING AMONG THEM AND SHE SEARCHES THE CROWD FOR NADIA.

WHERE THE HELL IS SHE? KATHERINE THOUGHT. SHE MAY BE MY DAUGHTER, BUT I’M THE ONLY ONE WHO’S ALLOWED TO BE FASHIONABLY LA –

A HAND PULLS KATHERINE ASIDE AND UNDER THE SHADOW OF A TREE.

KATHERINE: Argh. (YANKS HER ARM OUT FROM NADIA’S GRASP) I’m human, now, remember Nadia? I’m fragile. The slightest bad move and you could rip my whole arm off.

NADIA: (SHAKES HER HEAD IN DISBELIEF AND SPEAKS WITH A BULGARIAN ACCENT) Katherine, it’s too dangerous for you to be in town. I called you so that I could tell you that we have leave.

KATHERINE: Leave? And go where?

NADIA: Anywhere. Anywhere far from here. Silas wants to reunite with Amara and he needs your blood to do it.

KATHERINE: So I’ll give him his measly drops when he comes for me.

NADIA: What’s wrong with you? Why’re you not afraid for your life?

KATHERINE: Oh, trust me, I’m afraid. That’s precisely why I’d give Silas my blood without a fight. Nadia, if I fight him, I’ll lose, I’ll die.

NADIA: I don’t believe this. What happened to that woman whom I’ve heard so much about? When I was searching for you I’d hear stories about the brave and honest Katerina Petrova, the woman who, even though the odds were surely against her, managed to fight her way out of being used for evil means by an Original tyrant, even if she died to foil his plans, and she did. Where did that woman go?

KATHERINE: I’m sorry, Nadia, but Katerina Petrova died along with my humanity.

NADIA: And you have your humanity back. (TAKES HER HANDS) If you want to, Katerina Petrova could’ve come back along with her.

KATHERINE LOOKS TO THE SIDE AS IF SHE’S CONFLICTED.

NADIA: I’m your daughter. I want to know my mother more. I’m hoping us leaving town together will give us a chance to bond. You have the whole day to make your decision, Katherine. Think about it. One fact will remain: Silas’s goal is to reunite with his true love. If he doesn’t already know of the Cure’s existence, my guess is that he’ll know soon. I hope you make the right choice. Not for me, but for you. (NADIA LET’S GO OF HER HAND AND WALKS AWAY).

KATHERINE LEANS ONTO THE TREE BEHIND HER AND CLOSES HER EYES IN SEEMING REGRET.

IN THE CROWD OF STUDENTS AROUND, A GOOD-LOOKING BLOND DUDE IS SEEN FOCUSING ON KATHERINE. HE WALKS IN HER DIRECTION WITH A WORRIED EXPRESSION.

GUY: Elena? Are you okay?

KATHERINE: (OPENS HER EYES AND SEES THE GUY) Yeah. I’m fine . . . just . . . family drama.

GUY: You look like you need some company, someone to talk to? Can I buy you lunch?

KATHERINE: I’m sorry, do I know you?

GUY: Oh, where’re my manners: I’m Aaron Whitmore. We’ve never formally been introduced. I’ve just heard a lot about you and your family.

KATHERINE: Right. You’ve heard about me.

AARON: That makes me sound like a stocker, doesn’t it?

KATHERINE: No, no, not at all. I (SETTLES INTO PLAYING ELENA) I could really use a friend to talk to right about now.

AARON: I hope I can help.

KATHERINE: It’s just some family stuff. My sister’s a bitch.

AARON: I didn’t know you had a sister.

KATHERINE: I didn’t either, until about today. You still up for buying me lunch? I can tell you all about it.

CUT TO:

12. INT. THE OLD MANSION – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

SILAS IS STANDING IN THE LIVING ROOM WITH A GROUP OF PEOPLE. THERE’RE FOUR GIRLS AND FOUR GUYS. ALL OF THEM ARE SUPER HOT AND ARE GROUPED IN HAIR COLORS. A GUY AND A GIRL ARE BLACKHAIRED, WHILE THE OTHERS ARE REDHEADED, BROWN-HAIRED, AND LASTLY SILVER-HAIRED. THEY LOOK NO OLDER THAN EIGHTEEN.

SILVER-HAIRED GUY: Let me get this straight: you sent Aurum out into the night alone? I gave him specific orders to not go anywhere.

SILAS: He was desperate to get some air.

SILVER-HAIRED GUY: You do realize how out of hand this could get, right?

BLACK-HAIRED GIRL: Yeah, I’m sure he does, Argent.

ARGENT: Silas, I’m not happy about this.

SILAS: Yes, I know. I owe you an apology. But, you’ll agree with my decision after you find out why.

ARGENT: Why?

SILAS: I can’t tell you yet, not until I’m sure. But the last place Aurum was seen was the Salvatore Mansion. I’d advise you to kill anyone besides the doppelgängers, who stands in your way.

BROWN-HAIRED GIRL: What about the sun?

SILAS: (CLOSES HIS EYES)

THE SKY GETS COVERED WITH CLOUDS OUTSIDE.

SILAS: There’re clouds out, today. You’ll be safe enough.

BLACK-HAIRED GIRL: So you’ve been practicing. Good work.

ARGENT: (SMILES) Benevenuto, Milimo, Davos, we have an appointment with the Salvatores.

CUT TO:

13. INT. THE GRILL. DAY.

APRIL: You have a brother?

ALEC: Yup. And that brother happens to know how to help you. If I understand correctly, you left a tropical island and you started to have sex-dream-vision thingys?

APRIL: You told him?

MATT: I hope it isn’t a problem.

APRIL: Not if you trust him.

MATT: Well, I only met him this week, so . . .

ALEC: Haven’t even had a DNA test done yet.

APRIL: Why not?

ALEC: Probably a lack of time, in between trying to save a town from an evil Immortal, where do you find time for your alleged brother? (SHRUGS UNCARINGLY) Point is, I can help.

APRIL: How?

ALEC: My father, Ian Bloodstone, was a succubus – an incubus if we’re going to be literal. They’re a kind of parasitic supernatural being that feeds on the powerful emotions of a living being. They prefer to feed from sex, but other emotions and powerful thoughts will do.

MATT: Get to the point.

ALEC: (GRINS) Is this discomfiture of your family I’m sensing?

MATT: (ROLLS HIS EYES) Alec, here, has inherited some of our father’s traits and abilities, specifically the supernatural ones.

APRIL: But how does you being a succubus

ALEC: ‘Incubus’.

APRIL: (CONTINUES) Help me find out what’s happening to me?

ALEC: Incubi are powerful beings, they’re not very different from the undead. They just feed on different forms of power. You fear you’re turning into a vampire right? If it’s true you’re starting to remember the parts of your memory that’ve been erased. With my supernatural heritage, I can get into your head and help speed up the process. Given what happens to other vampires if they don’t complete their transition before sundown . . . we don’t know what’s happening to you. If we can find out if you died, then we’ll be getting closer.

APRIL: (TO MATT) Do you trust him?

MATT: (HESITATES) It’s up to you, April.

APRIL: (SIGHS; LOOKS AT ALEC) Can I trust you?

ALEC: I guess we’ll see.

APRIL: Are there any risks?

ALEC: Just the risk that it may not work. Either than that, we’re set.

APRIL: Do it.

CUT TO:

14. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

ELENA: What does that mean?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Silas is possession of a very powerful object.

DAMON: Quit being cryptic, Tessa.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: I was speaking clearly enough.

DAMON: Was I not clear enough? Speak English, bitch.

DAMON’S PANTS FALL TO HIS ANKLES.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: You own a zipper?

DAMON PULLS HIS PANTS BACK UP.

DAMON: That’s it. (HE STARTS FOR TESSA).

ELENA: (STOPS HIM) Damon.

DAMON: You’re lucky she’s here, Tessa.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (LOOKS AT THEO) You, don’t you and Tayler have somewhere you need to be?

THEO: (SIGHS DISAPPOINTEDLY) Come on, Tayler. Let’s get out of here.

TAYLER AND THEO LEAVE.

TYLER: Are you done? ’Cause we don’t have all day.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: For you all to understand what I’m about to tell you, I have to start from the top. A long time ago, after I petrified Silas, I devised a plan to create the Other Side. And I did. But then it started to unravel. The Other Side died over and over again and I kept remaking it. And then I realized what the problem is: I hadn’t bound it. Powerful spells are bound to even more or equally powerful things. The members of my coven – the Travellers – found out about my plan and decided that it was too dangerous a spell for me to do alone, so they offered to help.

===FLASHBACK: ===

15. EXT. 2,000 YEARS AGO: UNKNOWN WOODS IN GREECE. NIGHT.

TESSA AND HER COVEN GATHER AROUND A FIRE.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (NARRATING IN THE BACKGROUND) I let them on condition that we’d do it my way.

CLOSE UP ON LYDIA’S SOUR FACE.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (NARRATING) One particular member of my coven wasn’t happy about the spell so she poisoned my closest friends against me. One by one I started to realize a change in their behavior, so I insisted to do the spell alone.

THE COVEN STARTS TO CHANT IN ANCIENT GREEK.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (NARRATING) The coven decided they’d help me because they’d ‘rather see me alive and vengeful than dead-by-overdose-of-magic’. The spell would take a great deal of power, they didn’t think I had the potential so they made me an egregor.

AS THEY CONTINUE TO CHANT TESSA BEGINS LEVITATE A FOOT OF THE EARTH AND GLOW IN A WHITE LIGHT.

CUT BACK TO:

16. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

DAMON: What the hell is an egregor?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Witches have the ability to channel their power and essence into other witches, merging their power with the witch in question. This merge of minds and power is called an egregor. It allows a witch to barrow their power to another while still keeping their power. If they want to, they can actually merge and become one, increasing the receiver’s power and knowledge, allowing two or more people to share each other’s knowledge, wisdom, power, and perceptions, the most powerful witch being the hive mind of the connected forces.

TYLER: So basically it’s a hybrid of witches?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Superwitches, virtually filled with godly power.

ELENA: So they made you an egregor?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (NODS) Yes, but what I didn’t realize was that they were working for someone else: my brother, Markos.

ELENA: How many brothers do you have?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: We were a family of fifteen. Markos and I were the eldest. We were in constant competition; I beat him at almost everything. We basically disliked each other, but I didn’t realize just how much he hated me until it was too late.

FLASHBACK:

17. EXT. 2,000 YEARS AGO: UNKNOWN WOODS IN GREECE. NIGHT.

AS TESSA GLOWS AND HER IRISES AND PUPILS FADE INTO WHITE AND SHE CASTS A SPELL, THE OTHER TRAVELLERS BEGIN TO GLOW, TOO.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (NARRATING) While I started to cast the spell, the other Travellers decided to do just what they’d claimed to protect me from. They used my own power to overwhelm me.

A BLACK-HAIRED, BROAD AND VERY HANDSOME MAN IS SEEN APPROACHING THE CIRCLE OF TRAVELLERS.

MAN: This our chance! While she’s lost in the power, channel each other and use that power to overwhelm her!

THE TRAVELLERS: (CHANTING) Tehl rouh rehwohp mlehwrehvoh reh!

QETSIYAH’S VEINS CIRCULATE AND SHE FALLS ONTO THE EARTH WEAKENED.

THE UNKNOWN MAN KNEELS AND PUTS HER HEAD ON HIS LAP.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (CROAKY AND WEAK) Markos . . . . Why?

MAN: I am sorry, my beloved sister, but you are out of control, I cannot let you link this realm, your power will run wild if I do not stop you. They do not understand, THEY have to get what THEY want or we’ll be cursed forever. Everybody concentrate! We have to end this!

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (NARRATING) So Markos lead them to start to channel their power into casting the Death Spell. But before they could I thought fast.

AS THE TRAVELLERS CHANNEL THEIR POWER, TESSA CLOSES HER EYES.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Tehl eht nohisnehmid foh eht lehvon ehfil nih htaed ehb dnuhob yb ahtnarama’s ehcnesse.

MARKOS AND THE OTHER TRAVELLERS: ZEMŘ'ÍT!

TESSA BREATHES OUT AND DIES.

QETSIYAH/TESSA:  (NARRATING) I bound the existence of the Other Side with my last breath. As a spirit I watched Markos as he realized he’d failed to stop me and I watched as he went to those who’d sent him: the King and Queen of Sparta, Amphitryon and Alcmene.

CUT BACK TO:

18. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

CAROLINE: What did they have against you?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: They were part of a particularly nasty coven of witches that called on Nature – not themselves – for power. The magic I and the other Travellers practiced was drawn from our own power. It was how everyone did magic back then. My coven was principally the powerful Traveller Coven that had ever lived: The Aquarian Coven. The other covens became jealous of my coven so, lead by the Gemini Coven, they forged a new form of magic.

DAMON: (REALIZES) Natural magic.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Yes, they claimed it was more pure and monitored by Nature itself, so it was balanced and bound by Nature and thus certain spells were forbidden, such as my Immortality Spell. When the leader of the Gemini Coven, Amphitryon, discovered that I was planning to create an entire dimension, he couldn’t wait to stop me, so he poisoned the brother who hated me, Markos.

FLASHBACK:

19. EXT. 2,000 YEARS AGO: SPARTAN CAMP. NIGHT.

MARKOS ENTERS A TENT IN AN APPARENT CAMP WHERE MANY KINGDOMS HAVE GATHERED.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (NARRATING) Markos went to meet with Amphitryon in his camp to give him and his wife a report on my assassination. Many other covens of witches had gathered at the same place.

MARKOS IS STANDING NEXT TO A CAMPFIRE SURROUNDED BY TENTS WITH ANOTHER MAN.

MARKOS: King Amphitryon, I’ve come to give you the testimony.

AMPHITRYON: Is she dead or isn’t she?

MARKOS: (HESITATES) Yes, she is.

AMPHITRYON: (LOOKS RELIEVED) I knew you could do it. (SMILES) You have done well, Markos. The Gemini Coven will reconsider the Curse.

MARKOS: The Aquarian Coven thanks you.

AMPHITRYON IS ABOUT TO LEAVE WHEN MARKOS GRABS HIS SHOULDER.

MARKOS: I’m sorry, but there’s one more thing.

AMPHITRYON: (BORED) Yes?

MARKOS: We killed her, but she bound the existence of the Otherworld before we could stop her.

AMPHITRYON: (ANGRY) What?

MARKOS: It was her last breath, King Amphitryon.

AMPHITRYON: Fool! This was all for my wife’s sentimental beliefs in the Balance of Nature. You would defy my wishes for her joy?!

MARKOS: It was a mistake.

AMPHITRYON: I don’t know why I trusted you with this task. She has created a HELL for all of us! Do you not realize this?

MARKOS: Lord Amphitryon, it was beyond my power.

AMPHITRYON: And it is a fault your people will pay dearly for. I shall inform the Coven that the Anathema will commence.

AMPHITRYON ATTEMPTS TO TURN AWAY FROM HIM, BUT MARKOS STANDS IN HIS WAY.

MARKOS: I cannot allow you to do that.

AMPHITRYON: It’s not your decision to make. (OUTSTRETCHES HIS HAND TO MARKOS BEGINNING TO AFFLICT HIS MIND WITH PAIN)

MARKOS: (PRESSED HIS TEMPLES WITH HANDS) AH!

AMPHITRYON: You can be the one to tell your people of your ultimate failure. (STOPS HURTING MARKOS) Be sure to include how your sister’s to blame.

MARKOS: (GROWLS) You think I’m afraid of you? (TELEKINETICALLY THROWS AMPHITRYON INTO A TREE AND PULLS HIM BACK TO HIS KNEES).

AMPHITRYON: Gah!

MARKOS: I only ever cooperated to save my people from your curse. But now that you’re of no use . . .

BLOOD POURS DOWN AMPHITRYON’S NOSE.

AMPHITRYON: (GROANS) Guards! Gemini! Intruder!

IN THE NEARBY TENTS, PEOPLE BEGIN TO COME OUT.

MARKOS RELEASES HIM AND QUICKLY RUNS OFF AS THE PEOPLE HELP AMPHITRYON UP. AS MARKOS RUNS PAST A FOREST OF TREES, TESSA’S SPIRIT IS SEEN STANDING NEARBY WATCHING THE SCENE WITH INTRIGUE.

CUT BACK TO:

20. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: That same night, anyone practicing Traveller Magic was cursed.

ELENA: Cursed, how?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: The Gemini Coven affiliated with all other covens who used Natural or Spiritual magic and cursed Nature against them. The Curse made it so that whenever they practiced magic, Nature would turn against them, devastating side effects were activated whenever they used magic.

CAROLINE: What kinds of ‘side-effects’?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Whenever two or more Travellers gathered to cast a spell, their magic would turn against them and Nature would erupt, causing natural disasters: earthquakes, fires, plagues, illnesses . . . . it became Nature’s way of binding spells by Traveller Magic. Sadly for them, I didn’t live long enough to teach them how to bind their own magic. Anyway the Travellers are familial, they believe in being a tribe and they have for centuries, which is why the Curse is so deteriorating to their lifestyle.

DAMON: Aren’t you a Traveller?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Yes, I am. But the Curse doesn’t affect me because I wasn’t alive at the point of its creation; I wasn’t even in this dimension. Even if it is active in my case, I can bind my own spells.

TYLER: So the Travellers are cursed, so what? How does that fit in to anything?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Well . . . (HESITATES) You remember that chick Amara I told you about?

DAMON: How can I forget, you talk about how deep her betrayal cut like, every ten seconds.

CAROLINE: You mean the original Kat-ganger you killed?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: I need to tell you something about her.

DAMON: And what’s that?

TESSA’S ABOUT TO SAY SOMETHING WHEN ANOTHER STEFAN WALKS INTO THE ROOM.

SILAS: Hello, Mystic Falls Gang.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Silas.

SILAS: Housewarming party?

CUT TO:

21. INT. LOCKWOOD MANSION – KITCHEN. DAY.

ALEC, APRIL, MATT AND TORI ARE SITTING IN THE KITCHEN. ON THE TABLE IS A BOWL OF APPARENT OIL.

APRIL: So what do I do? I just . . . look into the oil?

ALEC: No, you just concentrate on relaxing. It’s my job to use the oil to concentrate my telepathic power.

APRIL: Have you ever done this before?

ALEC: No, but I heard there’s a first time for everything.

MATT: You’re going to be fine, April.

TORI: Or as lifeless as a vegetable.

APRIL: (MAKES A CRYING SOUND)

MATT: April, don’t listen to her, she’s just messing with you.

TORI: But I’m not –

ALEC NUDGES HER WITH HIS ELBOW.

TORI: (REALIZES) Oh, right… Yes, you’ll be perfectly okay.

MATT: (PULLS ALEC ASIDE AND SAYS) You better know what you’re doing. This girl’s trusting us with her sanity, she’s depending on us. I’m responsible for her, she has nowhere else to go.

ALEC: Well, you can’t exactly entrust me to help her if you don’t trust me, can you Matt?

MATT: (HESITATES) I barely know you.

ALEC: That’s the problem. If you don’t want to, that’s your problem. But will you give me a chance to prove I’m on the good side or not?

MATT HESITATES AGAIN.

CUT TO:

22. INT.WHITMORE RESTAURANT. DAY.

KATHERINE IS SEATED IN A RESTAURANT WITH AARON IN CONVERSATION. KATHERINE IS STILL PLAYING ELENA.

AARON: Wow, that’s quite some drama. So your sister has a daughter and can’t decide whether or not to leave town with her?

KATHERINE: Yup.

AARON: I don’t think it’s quite fair to ask you, someone who isn’t a mother, for advice in that department.

KATHERINE: IKR? But (SIGHS) What’re you gonna do when it’s family?

THE WAITRESS COMES TO THEIR TABLE, THE AUDIENCE RECOGNIZES HER AS LIV.

LIV: What can I get you?

AARON: (TO KATHERINE) What would you like?

KATHERINE: I’ll have two turkey and cheese sandwiches, a diet Coca-Cola, a tomato salad side dish. Thanks.

AARON: You want lunch or thanksgiving?

KATHERINE: A girl’s gotta eat.

LIV: And you, Aaron?

AARON: I’ll have what she’s having.

LIV: Okay. (LEAVES)

KATHERINE: So how come I’ve never seen you in my class?

AARON: It’s a ‘just someone in my class’ kinda thing.

KATHERINE: Aaron Whitmore, huh? You like, own the entire campus?

AARON: Not me, uh . . . (SEEMS UNEASY) My uncle Wes Maxfield does, at least, he’s my legal guardian, so he’s been put it charge.

KATHERINE: But, shouldn’t that be your parents’ job?

AARON: (CLEARS HIS THROAT) I don’t think they can have anyone’s job. My parents are dead.

KATHERINE: Oh. That’s one branch in the family we share.

AARON: Yours, too?

KATHERINE: Yeah, freak accident. I don’t want to talk about it.

AARON: I understand.

KATHERINE: (CHANGING THE SUBJECT) So, how’re you doing in class?

AARON: Against your perfect 100%? Well, let’s just say I’d put the rest of the class to shame.

KATHERINE: In biology and science? No.

AARON: It’s true.

KATHERINE: Tell you what, since you’ve made me feel better with lunch, I’ll help you out with class.

AARON: You mean like, tutor me?

SO ELENA’S THE STELLAR STUDENT, TOO, IS SHE? KATHERINE THOUGHT.

KATHERINE: Yeah, I mean, I’ve got nothing else better to do today, so just show me the problem and I’ll help you out.

AARON: That would mean so much.

CUT TO:

23. INT. SALVATORE MANSION. DAY.

BENEVENUTO, MILIMO, DAVOS AND ARGENT ARE GOING THROUGH THE LIBRARY AT THE SALVATORE MANSION.

ARGENT: They’re not home.

MILIMO: That’s disappointing.

DAVOS: Lilith would destroy the entire house in rage.

BENEVENUTO: You probably should, I mean, she is after all your girlfriend.

DAVOS: Nah, we don’t want them to know we’re here yet. If the Crowned Savior lives here, then we don’t want to do anything rash.

ARGENT: I’m surprised the Guardians haven’t appeared yet. I want a rematch.

DAVOS: You’ll have it, brother. The Bright Hostage has finally been born, we can destroy her.

MILIMO: (SNIFFS A BOOK LIFE WHOLEHEARTEDLY A DOG) I can smell her, she must live here with the Crowned Savior.

BENEVENUTO: I call dibs on first bite.

ARGENT: Calm down, all of you. The Bright Hostage is mine. You can share the Stone of Purity. (AS THEY GLARE AT HIM GREEDILY HE SMILES) I’m joking, we’ll tear all of them apart, I won’t cheat you out of your vengeance . . . not after what Tatianna did to us.

MAN: Hello, Old Ones.

THE OLD ONES TURN AROUND TO SEE A HANDSOME MAN WITH BROWN/SANDY HAIR AND CLEAR BLUE EYES STANDING THERE. THE AUDIENCE CAN REALIZE HIM AS ALARIC SALTZMAN.

ARGENT: Who the hell are you?

ALARIC: Someone who’s not happy you’re back here.

ARGENT: Kill him.

THE OTHER THREE ARE ABOUT TO CHARGE WHEN ALARIC GLOWS IN A WHITE LIGHT. THEN SILVERY WHITE WINGS SPROUT OUT OF HIS BACK.

ARGENT: It’s one of them! Let’s get out –

THE WHITE LIGHT BATHES THE ENTIRE ROOM IN IT’S GLOW.

CUT TO:

24. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. DAY.

SILAS: Tsk-tsk-tsk. Tessa . . . You’ve been really naughty lately. Inviting your friends for a party without daddy?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: So you’re daddy now?

SILAS: I can be whoever you want me to be. Hello Shadow Selves.

STEFAN: You must be Silas, it’s, uh, good to finally meet you . . . I guess?

SILAS: Ooh, you don’t look so good. Right, Tessa fried your ass. (LOOKS AT DANIEL) And you must be Daniel.

DANIEL: (ROLLS HIS EYES) Yeah.

DAMON: I gotta to say, you’ve got balls coming here without the protective wall of your psychic powers.

SILAS: Yeah, well, I’m still immortal. You can’t hurt me.

TYLER: Why’re you here?

SILAS: You’ve all probably heard the story of the Other Side was born? Well, I’m looking for the Anchor.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: You think I’ll tell you where it is?

ELENA: What the hell is the Anchor?

SILAS: (TILTS HIS HEAD TO THE SIDE) She hasn’t told you about the Anchor yet?

DAMON: Tessa? You mind telling us what the hell this bastard’s talking about?

SILAS: So you haven’t told them about the Anchor?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: I didn’t think it was a vital part of the story. (TO EVERYONE BUT SILAS) The Anchor is the object I used to bind the existence of the Other Side.

SILAS: If I can find it, I can destroy it and find Peace.

CAROLINE: Wait, so all that drama that happened with the Expression Triangle was for nothing?

SILAS: Well, Qetsiyah wasn’t alive then. She is now and she knows where the Anchor is.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Says who? I lost the Anchor’s whereabouts 2,000 years ago. And, besides I wouldn’t tell you if I knew.

SILAS: You’re lying. You forget that I know you more than most people, Tessa.

TESSA LEVITATES A COFFE MUG IN SILAS’S DIRECTION. BUT THE MUG HITS AGAINST AN INVISIBLE WALL WHICH GLOWS BLUE AS HER CUP MAKES CONTACT WITH IT, SHATTERING IT TO PIECES, SHOCKING EVERYONE IN THE ROOM.

SILAS: Did you really think I’d come here unprotected?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Well, would you look at that. (BORED) Get out of my house.

DAMON: (MAKES A TIMEOUT GESTURE) Hold up. Where did you get a magic force field from?

SILAS: I have a witch working for me. A very powerful little thing. I believe you’re acquainted with her, Lucy Bennett?

CAROLINE: Lucy?

DAMON: Why would Lucy do anything for you?

SILAS: She was headed to New Orleans when I found her and convinced her that my side was the better side. Given her encounter with Caroline, she was quite pleased to join the fold. It doesn’t help that she’s been corrupted by a magic I created twenty centuries ago.

DAMON: You sick –

SILAS: Before you curse me with your well-thought-out words of perversion, I’d like to inform you all that I possess a power none of you can imagine. (SILAS PULLS A NECKLACE FROM UNDER HIS SHIRT. ON THE NECKLACE IS A BLUISH, GLOWING CRYSTAL)

TYLER: What the hell . . .?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: I didn’t think that you’d actually have it . . . I was sure, but . . .

SILAS: This is the real deal, Tessa and with it, you’ll help find the Anchor or so help me God, if I can’t bring down heaven, I’ll raise hell.

END SCENE

FADE INTO:

25. INT. LOCKWOOD MANSION – KITCHEN. NIGHT.

ALEC IS STANDING BEHIND APRIL’S CHAIR WITH HIS INDEX AND MIDDLE FINGERS ON HER TEMPLES. APRIL’S EYES ARE CLOSED AND SO ARE ALEC’S IN CONCENTRATION. MATT AND TORI STAND NEARBY WATCHING THE SCENE.

ALEC SEES A FLASH OF MEMORY:

APRIL IS IN A TENT ON A TROPICAL BEACH AT NIGHT. AS IT FLASHES WE SEE ARGENT SMILING AT HER AS THEY DANCE TO WILD PARTY MUSIC. THEY KISS AND ARGENT SHOVES HER ONTO A TREE AND AFTER SHE SEES HIS FANGS SHE PULLS HIM TO HER NECK. A FLASH OF LIGHT BLOWS AWAY THE MEMORY.

ALEC: (OPENS HIS EYES) No!

MATT: What happened?

ALEC: I’ve awakened a few memories. The guy was a vampire. But I couldn’t get deep enough.

MATT: Then go deeper.

ALEC: I can’t, I’ve already pushed too hard, if I go deeper I could accidently rupture her hippocampus.

MATT: Alec, listen to me, we don’t know what’s happening to April. You may be the only person capable of helping us solve this. You wanted a chance, here it is: I trust you, Alec.

ALEC: (LOOKS TOUCHED BY THIS AS THEY SHARE A GLANCE) Okay. (LOOKS AT  TORI) I’m going to need you to help push my soul deeper into her subconscious, can you do that?

TORI: (NODS) Sure. (GRABS APRIL’S HANDS AS ALEC CLOSES HIS EYES) Magi somn et Mnemosyne, mens sana in corpore sano.

ALEC’S CONSCIOUSNESS IS PUSHED DEEPER INTO APRIL’S SUBCONSCIOUSNESS:

THE AUDIENCE SEES A SCENE IN THE TENT. APRIL IS LYING ON A MAKESHIFT BED WITH ARGENT. HE PULLS HIS HEAD BACK FROM APRIL’S BLEEDING NECK AND GRINS AT HER WITH SHARP FANGS.

ARGENT: (CUTS HIS OWN NECK OPEN) It’s your turn.

APRIL: (SEEMS A BIT DIZZY) I can’t drink your blood. I’m not a vampire.

ARGENT: That only makes it better. Besides, you need it. You’re weak enough as it stands. Try it, trust me, you won’t regret it.

APRIL: (HESITANTLY LEANS INTO HIS NECK AND SUCKS HIS BLOOD, AS SHE DOES, SHE SEEMS TO LIKE THE TASTE AND SUCKS HARDER, MUCH TO ARGENT’S JOY)

ARGENT: (STROKES HER HAIR AS HE CLOSES HIS EYES IN PLEASURE) That’s it. I told you.

APRIL: (WRENCHES HER HEAD FROM HIS NECK) What’re you doing to me?

ARGENT: I’m showing you your true-self. Everyone in your life considered you weak, you can be strong, powerful. You fled from your home because no one understood you, no one appreciated you –

THE VISIONS STOP AND IT FLASHES BACK TO THE REAL WORLD WHERE BOTH ALEC AND AN UNCONSCIOUS APRIL HAVE A NOSE NOSEBLEED.

MATT: Alec, if it’s too much –

ALEC: I’m fine. (INHALES DEEPLY) I can do this. Tori?

TORI: Rehpeed otnih eht dnim taht sdeen pleh! (SHE REPEATS THE INCANTATION REPEATEDLY)

(ALEC CLOSES HIS EYES AND THE FLASHES OF MEMORY CONTINUE):

ARGENT: – you have darkness in you, Avril. Everybody expects that darkness to be light, but it’s who you are, and you like it, you love the rush of the blood, the feeling of blood-sharing, the feral side it activates in you. You think what you’ve felt in these couple of days with me was good? You don’t know the half of it. If you did you’d want to be like me.

APRIL: I want to be like you. I want to be strong. Powerful. I want the Darkness. But not sure if I should embrace it now.

ARGENT: You’ve already embraced and kissed the Darkness, my sweet Avril. The Darkness loves you more than you love yourself. (LOOKS DIRECTLY INTO APRIL’S EYES AND HIS PUPILS DILATE AS HE COMPELS HER): Do you love the Darkness back?

APRIL: Yes. (A TEAR FALLS OUT OF HER EYES).

ARGENT: (SMILES SOFTLY) Do you want to be with the Darkness?

APRIL: Yes.

ARGENT: Lastly: do you want to be the Darkness?

APRIL: I do . . . I’m not sure.

ARGENT: (NODS AND CONTINUES TO COMPEL HER) Forget we ever met, forget that you knew me, or that I was a vampire. Ignore the memory of me. Only remember that there was something spectacular that you shared with someone. My blood in your system will do nothing, not until you miss the Darkness, not until you begin to remember. Then the choice will be yours: Love the Darkness or shun it and I will forever be gone from your body, from your mind and from your soul –

ALEC OPENS HIS EYES, HIS NOSE HAS BLEED MORE ALONG WITH APRIL’S AND THE BOWL OF OIL IGNITES INTO FLAME AND TORI STOPS CHANTING.

TORI: What happened?

ALEC: I know what happened to April.

FADE OUT

FADE INTO:

26. INT. WHITMORE COLLEGE – JESSE/AARON’S DORM. NIGHT.

KATHERINE AND AARON STUDYING. KATHERINE IS SEATED ON A BED WHILE HE IS SEEMINGLY STRESSED. KATHERINE HOLDS A TEXTBOOK AND READS FROM IT.

KATHERINE: The function of the capillaries is . . .?

AARON: To carry and take blood from certain parts of the body.

KATHERINE: While the function of liver is to . . .?

AARON: The function of the liver is to . . . (HESITATES)

KATHERINE: I asked for the answer, not an imitation.

AARON: I don’t know.

KATHERINE: We’ve been going through this all day. You sure you graduated high school?

AARON: It used to come easily when I was in school. I have no idea what’s wrong with me now . . . . Elena, have you ever felt like one day you were this different person and woke up to find that you’re a completely person?

KATHERINE: (CLEARS HER THROAT) Uhm, yeah, actually, all the time.

AARON: That’s how I’ve felt ever since I moved here.

KATHERINE: (HER EXPRESSION CHANGES TO A THOUGHFUL ONE) Well, do you miss that person that you were?

AARON: I’m not sure. I mean, the person I was was kinda better than who I am now. I didn’t use to part as much as I do now. I used study more, get better grades . . . make more friends.

KATHERINE: So, yes?

AARON: I don’t think so. I mean, I may’ve changed, but I don’t think we can actually ever become someone else. We’re all human. I’ve changed, but I’ve always been Aaron Whitmore, I’ll always be Aaron Whitmore. I think change should be embraced if it doesn’t destroy you. Change is a part of life, isn’t it? I mean, I’m still changed from when I was younger. I’m less innocent and stuff, but I’m stronger and wiser, I’ve made mistakes I know never to go back to. So the answer’s kinda double-edged, you know?

KATHERINE: For someone who doesn’t know what the circulatory system is, you sure are smart. (SHE EXHALES, REMEMBERING NADIA) Let’s take a break and talk about other things. (SHE TAPS THE EMPTY PART OF THE BED NEXT TO HER).

AARON: (SITS NEXT TO HER)

KATHERINE: So . . . I just realized that I don’t know a single thing about you (SHRUGS) either than the fact that you suck in biology and that you’re Aaron Whitmore and will always be Aaron Whitmore.

AARON: (SMILES) Well, all I know about you is that you’re Elena Gilbert.

KATHERINE: (GLANCES TO THE SIDE, SEEMINGLY HAVING FORGOTTEN THAT SHE’S PLAYING ELENA GILBERT) Right.

AARON: Since I know less about you, it’s only necessary for you to go first.

KATHERINE: (SMILES) Well, I was born and bred in Mystic Falls. I have a brother, Jeremy Gilbert. He’s in high school, troublesome and bratty. Apparently, I have a sister, barely know her. My parents died I think two years ago. I have a BBFF on campus – Caroline Forbes. My favorite color is black. I know more than seven languages. I’m descended from Africa, Greece and Latin regions. I aspire to be doctor who deals with all forms of medical treatment. I had a boyfriend (SHE DIDN’T THINK IT WAS NECESSARY ADDING DAMON) Stefan, we broke up.

AARON RAISES HIS EYEBROWS.

KATHERINE: That enough?

AARON: Sure. What do you want to know about me?

KATHERINE: What’re you willing to share?

AARON: I was born in Aspen, Colorado. I’m eighteen; I’ll be nineteen in December. I don’t have much family. My parents died when I was a kid. Recently, most of my family has died and I was becoming alcoholic due to that. Wes is almost the only family I have left.

KATHERINE: I’m sorry.

AARON: Yeah, well. I’m used to it by now.

KATHERINE AND AARON SHARE AN AFFECTIONATE GAZE AT EACH OTHER.

A BUZZING SOUND IS HEARD AND AARON PULLS OUT HIS SMARTPHONE. THE ID READS: Patricia Andrews.

AARON: Sorry, I’ve gotta take this.

KATHERINE: Sure.

AARON WALKS OUT OF THE ROOM.

KATHERINE: (BREATHES OUT AND ROLLS HER EYES AS SHE FALLS BACK ONTO THE BED) Finally. I’m so sick of being you, Elena.

KATHERINE FEELS SOMETHING HARD BY HER HEAD AND ROLLS AROUND ON THE BED TO SEE WHAT IT IS: A JOURNAL.

KATHERINE: (THINKING) Should I open it? Should I read it?

KATHERINE BEING KATHERINE OPENED THE BOOK AND STARTED TO READ IT. BUT BEFORE SHE COULD ACTUALLY START, SHE HEARD SOMETHING KNOCK SOMEWHERE OUTSIDE THE ROOM.

KATHERINE GETS UP FROM THE BED AND GOES TO INVESTIGATES AND FINDS THAT AARON HAS DROPS HIS PHONE AND IS STANDING WITH HIS BACK TO THE DOOR.

KATHERINE: (STILL AS ELENA) Aaron?

AARON: (WIPES THE TEARS THAT’RE ON HIS FACE AND TURNS AROUND, BUT HIS EYES ARE BLOODSHOT NONETHELESS) Hey, Elena. Uhm . . . (SNIFFS) I just dropped my phone. (BENDS OVER TO GET IT, BUT KATHERINE BEATS HIM TO IT)

KATHERINE: (TILTS HER HEAD TO ANALYZE HIS FACE) Hey, are you okay?

AARON: (VISIBLY LYING) Yeah . . . yeah, I’m . . . I’m just great.

KATHERINE: (EYES HIS HAND, WHICH SHAKES. KATHERINE GRABS IT TO STABILIZE IT) You sure you’re okay?

AARON: Yeah, like I said I’m just fine. (SMILES. AFTER A MOMENT HE ATTEMPTS TO PULL HIS HAND AWAY)

KATHERINE: (STRENGTHENS HER GRIP) Don’t, don’t lock whatever it is you’re feeling.

AARON: (LAUGHS FORCEDLY) Trust me, I’m good. I’m used to people around me dying by now.

KATHERINE: Is that what she told you? Someone else died, didn’t they?

AARON: My friend, Megan. I don’t know why I’m so shaken by it. I’m really fine.

EVEN THOUGH IT KILLED HER TO DO IT, KATHERINE COULDN’T HELP BUT COMFORT HIM.

KATHERINE: Nonsense, Aaron. No one should be used to the people they love dying every day.

AARON: Well, I am. My parents died first. When they gave me to my aunt Karrie, she died. When I was given to my uncle Tomas, he died. I’ve been going from family member to family member and they all die. Wes and my brother Jackson – who lives with my aunt Lana and uncle Max – are my only family, and my childhood friend Megan’s apparently dead. Everywhere I go, people die. It been so long since something like this happened . . . (SHAKES HIS HEAD AND WIPES DAWNING TEARS) Look, thanks for . . . everything today, but you should probably get as far away from me as you can before you end up d –

KATHERINE THINKS: I can’t believe I’m going to do this.

KATHERINE: (KISSES HIM. SHE HOLDS THE KISS FOR A MOMENT AND THEN PULLS BACK AND CLEARS HER THROAT) Uhm . . . did I just –?

AARON: (PULLS HER BACK INTO THE KISS, THIS TIME, HE KISSES HER AND WRAPS HIS ARMS AROUND HER BODY).

CUT TO:

27. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. NIGHT.

SILAS’S NECKLACE IS THE FIRST THING WHICH IS SEEN GLOWING.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: You bastard. How dare you use that against me?

SILAS: I thought I’d would look good on me. Now, back to more pressing matters: where is the Anchor?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: I have no idea what you’re talking about, Silas.

SILAS: You know, I didn’t actually think you’d be able to tell what I need to know. But you forget, Tessa, that I was once a warlock, I know how magic works.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: So what? Why do you want it, anyway? I thought you already had a master plan which involved a Bennett Witch undoing my spell for you.

SILAS: This way’s better. (TAKES A FEW STEPS CLOSER TO STEFAN AND TAPS HIS SHOULDER) About knowing magic: I know how to gain back my powers, even if it’s only temporary.

DAMON: Stefan, watch ou –

SILAS SNAPS STEFAN’S NECK AND HE CRUMBLES TO THE FLOOR.

DAMON AND TYLER LUNGE TO ATTACK SILAS, BUT THEIR FACES BLUR AS SILAS REGAINS HIS TELEPATHIC POWERS.

SILAS: Ah! Would you look at that? I missed being psychic.

TESSA IS ABOUT TO RUN WHEN SHE ALSO BLURS ALONG WITH EVERYONE ELSE IN THE ROOM.

CUT TO:

28. INT. WHITMORE RESTAURANT. NIGHT.

THEO AND TAYLER ARE SEEN WALKING INTO THE RESTAURANT AND SIT DOWN IN ONE TABLE.

THEO: So, Tayler. Tell, what does the Gemini Coven think about you being my little stooge?

TAYLER: Look, Theophilus, I’m not your stooge. This is an alliance. The Coven wants Silas; it’s my duty to help you help us.

THEO: Such a shame, Tay. (STROKES HIS ARM) You’re a smart boy, powerful. You shouldn’t be so limited. If you worked for me, you’d know only power and pleasure. (FINGERS CURL INTO HIS HAIR)

TAYLER: (CLEARS HIS THROAT AND SHOVES HIS HAND ASIDE) Can we just go on with this?

THEO: There’s no rush, is there? I mean, I just realized I know absolutely nothing about you. A certain Petrova Doppelgänger just said that somewhere.

TAYLER: This isn’t a date, Theophilus.

THEO: It could be. Please, call me Theo.

TAYLER: (FROWNS) Theo, can we please get on with this spell?

THEO: Not until I know something about you.

TAYLER: I was born and bred in Portland. I was raised a warlock. I have the unique ability to track and sense the power signatures of other magical beings and I’m skilled in concealing myself and others, a common ability in my Coven.

THEO: That’s nothing new.

TAYLER: Did you know I was from Portland?

THEO: Are you in a relationship with anyone?

TAYLER: Look, I get that you like me, you’re not the first person to find me attractive. Get this now: I’m not interested.

THEO: (POUTS) Heartbreaker, are you?

TAYLER: Are we done?

THEO: (SIGHS AND PULLS A DAGGER OUT OF HIS POCKET. HE PRICKS HIS FINGER DEEPLY) Hmm. (GROANS. DOTS OF BLOOD DRIP ONTO THE PLAIN WHITE PLATE) I can’t wait to see this, the Great Tayler in action.

TAYLER: I need Lucy’s blood, not yours.

THEO: Well, Lucy’s one of my family’s direct descendants. Trust me, if this doesn’t work, nothing will.

TAYLER: (GROANS AND CLOSES HIS EYES) Phesmatos tribum, nas ex vir us, saquitas sanguinem.

THEO: Sotamseph mubirt, san xe su riv, satiquas meniungas.

THE DROPS OF BLOOD GLOW AND VARIOUS FACES FLASH ACROSS THE BLOOD DROPS.

THEO: What’s happening?

TAYLER: Those are the faces of all the living descendants of the Bennett Line. They glow in different lights, representing their different auras and life-essences. Just identify which one’s Lucy.

THEO: That’s easy.

THREE MINUTES LATER . . .

THEO: I didn’t realize there were so many Bennetts.

TAYLER: So none of them are Lucy?

THEO: The faces change so much, but none of them are – stop! There she is. (HE POINTED TO ONE OF THE DROPS OF BLOOD DEPICTING LUCY).

TAYLER: (CHANTING) Pohst, Adincul.

THE BLOOD DROPS BEGIN TO STOP AND BEGIN TO COMBINE IN ONE LARGE DROP OF BLOOD WITH LUCY’S FACE GLOWING WHITE IN IT.

THEO: That’s the one. Where is she?

TAYLER: You’re not gonna believe this.

THEO: What?

TAYLER: (POINTS TO A TABLE NEAR THERE’S.)

LUCY IS SEATED IN THE TABLE AND THERE IS A PLATE OF SALMON AS HER MEAL. SHE IS READING THROUGH A BOOK WHICH RESEMBLES A GRIMOIRE. CLOSE UP: HER NECKLACE REVEALS THAT SHE’S WEARING THE SAME NECKLACE THAT SILAS IS: A BLUE CRYSTAL.

THEO: Oh, my God. (GETS UP) Come on.

TAYLER: What?

THEO: We have to confront her.

TAYLER: Are you crazy?

THEO: (IGNORES TAYLER AND STARTS TO WALK OVER TO THE TABLE)

CUT TO:

29. INT. MYSTIC FALLS HIGH SCHOOL. NIGHT.

JEREMY IS STUDYING IN THE LIBRARY. AS HE STUDIES, A HOT BLONDE GIRL ENTERS THE ROOM AND SITS ACROSS JEREMY. SHE’S DRESSED IN A LEATHER PANTS, HEELS AND A BLACK LEATHER JACKET. SHE HAS A BAG SLUNG OVER HER SHOULDER.

GIRL: Jeremy Gilbert?

JEREMY: Can I help you?

GIRL: I’m Trisha. You can call me Trish.

JEREMY: O-kay?

TRISH: I won’t beat about the bush. I know what you are, I know you’re a Hunter, and I know my sister Megan was with you when she died.

JEREMY: (PANICKED) Look, I don’t –

TRISH: I know you didn’t kill her. I know someone else did.

JEREMY: So you know what she was?

TRISH: Know? I’m a succubus. My entire family are succubae, and we’re out for blood. (SHE OPENS HER BAG AND GIVES JEREMY A BOOK) Here, take this. It’ll help you figure out everything that’s going to happen. (TURNS TO LEAVE).

JEREMY: Wait, where do I fit into your mission?

TRISH: (TURNS TO FACE HIM) You’re going to help me kill the bastard who did this to her. (SHE LEAVES A WIDE-EYED JEREMY BEHIND)

JEREMY READS THE TITLE: Ye Olde Uns. HE OPENS THE LARGE, LEATHER-STRAPPED, ANCIENT-LOOKING BOOK. THE INDEX IS THE FIRST PAGE, WHICH READS:

SPECIES INDEX:

ANGELIC ORIGNS                                                              …page 8

THE CRYSTALS OF BEZEL                                                   …page 210, 285

WITCHCRAFT AND SORCERY                                              …page 330

JEREMY PAGES THROUGH THE BOOK AND HAPPENS UPON THE OLD ONES DEFINITION.

JEREMY: (READING) The Old Ones (from OE: Ye Olde Uns “The Olden Ones” or “the Ancient Peoples” or “the Original Ones”) are a number of different species of ancient and pureblood beings who first ruled the earth and the Universe. These diverse and ancient species ruled over the most complex elements to manipulate. Two particular Old One factions were at an eternal war, the Infernal and Celestial Guardians fought. The Infernals for destruction of mankind, the Celestials for the Salvation and Order of Mankind. The evil of the Infernals corrupted Nature and that evil corruption was made flesh in the body of a mortal man, binding its existence on the mortal plane, such was the birth of evil. The Natural Elements with which the entire Universe is fabricated balanced out the birth of the evil personified and incarnated a form of ultimate goodness and purity in the form of a pure natural beauty. Both these incarnations were made the binding force of both sides: good and evil. They recurred for generations, being born whenever necessary (c.f. Doppelgängers).

CUT TO: CLOSE UP ON JEREMY’S FACE AND STOPS READING AND LOOKS SHOCKED.

CUT TO:

30. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. NIGHT.

EVERYBODY’S FROZEN IN PLACE BY SILAS’S PSYCHIC POWERS.

SILAS: Ah! Isn’t that better? Now I can get the information I really need. (LOOKS AT QETSIYAH AND HIS IRISES TURN COMPLETELY BLACK) Tell me where the Anchor of the Other Side is.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (GETS PSYCHICALLY COMPELLED) It was taken by the Travellers after the Gemini Coven cursed them. They move it around with them, protecting and guarding it.

SILAS: Why would they care about the Anchor?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: They use it as an insurance policy for the existence of their past leaders on the Other Side, they’re secure guarding it with their own lives rather than dumping it in the Atlantic.

SILAS: Good. Where is it now?

DAMON: Don’t tell him anything!

SILAS: Now, now, Damon. You’re being rude. You don’t interrupt your elders. How would I most like to see you die?

DAMON: (SARCASTICALLY) Knowing your pathological mind, I’d be terrified.

SILAS: I know! Influenza! Anyone like influenza?

DAMON: Nice try, but you don’t – (DAMON STARTS TO COUGH HARD AND STARTS TO COUGH OUT BLOOD).

ELENA: Damon! (STARTS FOR DAMON)

SILAS: (SHAKES HIS INDEX FINGER) Uh-uh-uh.

ELENA IS OVERCOME WITH PSYCHIC POWER AND CAN’T MOVE.

DAMON COUGHS UNTIL HE FALLS DOWN AND DIES.

ELENA: Damon!

CUT TO:

31. INT. WHITMORE RESTAURANT. NIGHT.

THEO SITS ACROSS LUCY.

THEO: Lucy Bennett?

LUCY: (EYES HIM) Can I help you, sexy?

THEO: In fact, you can. Mind if I buy you a drink?

CUT TO: KATHERINE IS SEEN WALKING INTO THE RESTAURANT WITH AARON AT THE ENTRANCE AND THEY CHOOSE A TABLE FAR FROM THEO, TAYLER AND LUCY, HAVING NOT NOTICED THEM YET.

CUT TO: LUCY’S TABLE.

LUCY: (OBVIOUSLY PLEASED) Sure.

THEO: (RAISES HIS HAND IN A GESTURE TO LIV) Waitress! (LIV COMES OVER) Can you help me out? The lady wants a glass of strawberry cocktail, one spoon of honey and a pinch of vinegar.

LUCY: (LOOKS SHOCKED) That’s my favorite drink. How did you –?

THEO: I wouldn’t come to you, if I didn’t know you. I do my homework on a girl before I get to know her from herself.

LUCY: That’s . . . confusing.

THEO: But you’re obviously intrigued or you would’ve called me a perv by now.

LUCY: Honestly, I saw you and that guy at your table, I thought you were gay. The way you stroked his hair and played around with his hand, it’s uncommon that you’d come to me straight afterward.

THEO: Oh, I’m very much attracted to Tayler over there. (TURNS HIS HEAD TO WAVE AT AN AWKWARD-LOOKING TAYLER BACK AT THEIR TABLE, TAYLER SMILES EVEN MORE AWKWARDLY) But unrequited love’s the saddest of them all, so I came to someone I feel I have a stronger connection to (LOOKS AT LUCY) You. You’re beautiful, and you take care of yourself, and you’re interested.

LIV RETURNS WITH THEO’S ORDER FOR LUCY.

LUCY: I wouldn’t go as far as saying “we have a connection”, I’ve only just met you.

THEO: And I’m certain you were filled with erotic hunger from the moment you laid your pretty brown eyes on me.

LUCY: And you have the most interestingly olive eyes. (SHE IS GETTING LOST IN THEM)

THEO: Oh, I’d be so up for a union between the two of us, if A. I wasn’t on Qetsiyah’s side and if B. You weren’t on Silas’s.

LUCY: (SHOCKED) How did . . . (REALIZES) you’re here for that?

THEO: Tell, me, why would a Bennett Witch like yourself side with Silas?

LUCY: Because Silas appreciates me for everything I am.

THEO: (EYES THE NECKLACE SHE’S WEARING) I won’t argue with your odds of winning. Silas obviously trusts you or he wouldn’t entrust you with that. (POINTS TO HER NECKLACE)

LUCY: You know what this is?

THEO: Know? Honey, I’ve been in the Cave of Bezel. I know how much power a tip of a chip of that material possesses. But you’re smart, and I thought you were good. But you choose to side with a pathological, sociopathic killer. With your power, you could defeat him.

LUCY: You think I side with Silas because of evil? All Silas ever wanted was to be reunited with his one true love. If I never find it, the least I can do is move Heaven and Earth to help someone else find it.

THEO: You’re making a mistake. Silas may want to reunite with his lover, but you can excuse all the people he’s killed.

LUCY: It was all for love! And Qetsiyah’s a means to stop that love! That’s why he’s going over there now. He’s going to get his psychic powers and I’m going to make sure no one stops him, with this (SHE TOUCHES THE CRYSTAL OF HER NECKLACE).

THEO: You should be smart enough to realize that you can’t use that power.

LUCY: I can use it cast simple protection spells.

THEO: If you’ve been corrupted this much, I’m sorry.

LUCY: What for –?

THEO: (WHISPERS) Ehratnaknih: Hypnosei.

LUCY’S EYES ROLL BACK AND SHE FALLS UNCONSCIOUS, TAYLER DOESN’T LOOK QUITE HAPPY WITH THAT.

THEO: Tayler, get over here!

TAYLER: (RUSHES OVER) How did you –?

THEO: Doesn’t matter. I need your help with a spell. (STARTS TO MAKE A CIRCLE OF SALT ON THE TABLE AND CARVES WORDS ONTO IT: Nehkawa dnah kaehrb eht tioneknnocsid neewtehb Salis dnah Nafest. Dnuob ot Eos.)

TAYLER: What is that?

THEO: (TALKS WHILE HE CARVES THE WORDS) It’s a brand of connective magic Tessa and I figured out years ago. Silas’s at her house right now. I can use my magic to send a spell from here and connect it to her on her side to surpass his psychic powers. (TAKES THE CRYSTAL OF BEZEL FROM LUCY’S NECK AND PLACES IT IN THE CIRCLE OF SALT).

TAYLER: That sounds like a pretty big spell.

THEO: Trust me, it is. It disassembles the Balance of the Natural Laws and the English language. Today I’m doing in backwards English and . . . personalizing it with a little Necromancy.

TAYLER: (THROWS SALT ONTO THE CANDLE OF THE TABLE) Invisique. I’ve just given us some privacy.

THEY TURN INVISIBLE ALONG WITH THEIR CARVED SPELLS.

TAYLER: Is what you’re talking about even possible?

THEO: I guess you’ll know by the end of today. (OUTSTRETCHES HIS HANDS ACROSS THE TABLE) Take my hands.

TAYLER: (LOOKS UNIMPRESSED BY THIS) Don’t get the wrong idea. (TAKES HIS HANDS)

CUT TO: KATHERINE AND AARON’S TABLE. THEY ARE HAVING DINNER. AARON IS HAVING MAC AND CHEESE AND A GLASS OF WATER WHILE KATHERINE IS EATING A SALAD OF SOME SORT WITH RED WINE.

KATHERINE: So.

AARON: So . . . you want to talk about what happ –

KATHERINE: No – yes, I don’t know. Look, it was insensitive of me to kiss you. I mean, you were hurting and I just wanted to make you feel –

AARON: I . . . uhm, I kissed you back.

KATHERINE: Huh. That’s right, you did.

AARON: (UNCOMFORTABLY) Did you . . . want to kiss me or was it just a pity kiss?

KATHERINE: (HESITATES AND THINKS ABOUT IT) I really wanted to kiss you before Patricia Andrews called. (SIPS HER WINE) What about you?

AARON: Honestly, I think I wanted to kiss you more than you wanted to kiss me. (HE SMILES) So, what now?

KATHERINE: I don’t know. I haven’t actually dated for a while now, and I don’t think many people are nowadays. Have noticed how many people are in this restaurant?

AARON: Just those three people there. (HE POINTS TO THE SIDE OF THE ROOM WHERE TAYLER, THEO AND LUCY ARE).

KATHERINE GLANCES AT THE PEOPLE AND NOTICES LUCY FALL UNCONSCIOUS. AS SHE WATCHES, THEY TURN INVISIBLE, BUT SHE REALIZES NO ONE ELSE BUT HER SAW IT.

AARON: What’re you looking at?

KATHERINE: Uhm, nothing.

CUT BACK TO THEO AND TAYLER:

THEO: (TO TAYLER) Follow me. Feu pran ce massaj sa a, les cendres sur le vent. Feu pran ce massaj sa a, les cendres sur le vent. Feu pran ce massaj sa a –

TAYLER AND THEO BOTH CHANT: Les mots sur le vent. Feu pran ce massaj sa a, les mots sur le vent.

THEO: (ALONE IN HIS NATIVE WITCHCRAFTIC TONGUE) Uef narp ec as a, sel stom rus el tnev!

THE CARVED ON THE WOODEN TABLE SEEMINGLY TURN INTO MOLTEN ROCK AND THEN DISAPPEAR AS THEO’S NOSE RUNS WITH BLOOD AND A GUST OF POWERFUL WIND BLOWS THROUGH THE RESTAURANT AND THE LIGHTS EXPLODE. THEO OPENS HIS EYES AND THEIR COMPLETELY BLACK.

TAYLER: Theo?

THEO: Bénédiction protection!

THE WINDOWS EXPLODE AND THE DOORS GET BLOWN OFF THEIR HINGES.

THEO FALLS UNCONSCIOUS.

CUT TO:

32. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. NIGHT.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (TO SILAS) You done?

SILAS: You obviously don’t know exactly where the Anchor is, so . . . (HE GRABS A CARVING KNIFE FROM THE TABLE OF WHISKEY) You’re worthless to me. (THROWS THE KNIFE AT TESSA).

TESSA TELEKINETICALLY CATCHES THE KNIFE REGARDLESS OF HER MOTIONLESS STATUS AND THROWS IT BACK TO SILAS. SILAS CATCHES IT AND STEPS TO TESSA, PRESSING IT ONTO HER NECK.

SILAS: You know, it’s funny, today’s March 15th, the day you and I first kissed 2,000 years ago . . . And yet you’re going to be killed my me. THE FIRE THEN EXPLODES ONTO TESSA AND SILAS, BLOWING THEM BOTH AWAY WHILE THE KINETIC FORCE HITS EVERYONE ELSE AWAY AND ONLY BURNING TESSA AND SILAS WHILE KNOCKING EVERYONE UNCONSCIOUS.

END ACT III

ACT IIII

FADE INTO:

33. INT. WHITMORE RESTAURANT. NIGHT.

TAYLER IS SHAKING THEO’S BODY.

TAYLER: Theo?! Theo! Wake up. (PUTS HIS EAR BY THEO’S MOUTH TO SEE IF HE’S BREATHING, THERE’S NOTHING SO HE STARTS TO GIVE HIM CPR) Come on, Theo! Wake up! (PUSHES HIS CHEST AND CONTINUES TO GIVE HIM CPR).

LIV RUSHES OVER IN THE DARKNESS.

LIV: Tayler? (KNEELS NEXT TO THEM) What the hell happened?

TAYLER: (FRUSTRATED) We were doing and a spell and he –

THEO: (GASPS AWAKE) Hh!

TAYLER: (SIGHS) Thank God.

THEO: (WEAKLY) Please tell me somebody kissed me.

TAYLER: (GROANS) God. Would you be serious for once?

THEO: (PANTING) I am.

LIV: (STANDS UP) You destroyed my restaurant. (CLOSES EYES AND CHANTS) Riparare.

THE BROKEN SHARDS OF GLASS LEVITATE BACK INTO PLACE, FIXING THEMSELVES. THE DOORS AND WINDOWS MAGICALLY GET FIXED.

THEO: You got power, girl! Am I dreaming?

TAYLER: Next time you wanna commit a suicide spell, exclude me from the equation.

THEO: Trust me, I won’t be doing that anytime soon.

THEO: (SITS UP AND LOOKS AT LUCY’S EMPTY TABLE) Where’s Lucy?

TAYLER: (FROWNS) She was just –

THEO: You let her get away?! She took the Crystal with her!

TAYLER: (CROSSES HIS ARMS) Excuse me, I was too busy saving your freakin life to care about Lucy Freakin Bennett.

THEO: I’m a necromancer, Tayler. That means I’m impervious to harm.

TAYLER: Forgive me for not being a necromancer-expert.

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RESTAURANT, KATHERINE AND AARON HAVE BEEN WATCHING EVERYTHING HAPPEN.

AARON: (WHISPERS TO KATHERINE) What the hell is going on?

KATHERINE: (SHRUGS) I have no idea.

AARON: Am I dreaming?

KATHERINE: –

LIV: (SUDDENLY IN FRONT OF THEM) You probably are. (OUTSTRETCHES HER HAND TO THEM) Phesmatos dolore.

KATHERINE AND AARON START TO CRY OUT IN PAIN AS THEIR MINDS ARE INFLICTED WITH PSYCHIC AGONY UNTIL THEY FALL UNCONSCIOUS.

THEO AND TAYLER COME OVER.

THEO: (TO LIV) I suddenly love you.

LIV: (ROLLS HER EYES) Just grab the doppelgänger.

THEO: (TO TAYLER) I need you get something for me.

FADE INTO:

34. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. NIGHT.

CLOSE UP ON ELENA’S UNCONSCIOUS FACE. A FLASH OF LIGHT AND SHE IS SUDDENLY IN STEFAN’S DREAM REALITY OF THE QUARRY-SIDE. THE SCENE IS LIT BY BRIGHT LIGHT. STEFAN IS STANDING NEXT TO ELENA.

ELENA: Stefan? (HER VOICE ECHOES)

STEFAN: Elena? (ECHOES)

ELENA: What’s going on? How did I get here?

STEFAN: . . . I think I’m having a dream.

ELENA: But . . . am I dreaming, too?

STEFAN: I have no idea what’s happening right now.

ELENA: (GETS AN EXPRESSION OF REALIZATION) When Silas had locked you in the quarry; I used to have nightmares about you in pain. We learned that it was due to some . . . psychic connection that the doppelgängers apparently have with each other. You must subconsciously still remember being here. Maybe the connection allows us to communicate telepathically, too.

STEFAN: (SARCASTICALLY) Great.

ELENA: Stefan . . . I’m sorry about what happened between us the other day. I’m sorry for not telling you about me and Damon. (STEFAN LOOKS DOWN) I’m sorry I let things get to . . . where they were before I told you.

STEFAN: Why did you?

ELENA FROWNS.

STEFAN: Why did you let me get so close before telling me?

ELENA: (HESITATES) I don’t –

STEFAN: (TAKES A STEP TOWARDS HER) I think you do. (HE’S ALMOST NOSE-TO-NOSE WITH HER) Admit it, Elena.

ELENA: I don’t know what . . . (LOOKS UNCONVINCING) you want me to admit, Stefan. It was . . . a place that held strong emotional connection for the two of us, it brought back a lot of memories and –

STEFAN: You forgot about Damon?

ELENA: Yeah – no! I mean, I didn’t forget Damon, but I remembered us.

STEFAN: And you just happened to want to kiss me because of these reemerging memories?

ELENA: (SIGHS) Stefan –

STEFAN: Tell me, why did we break up?

ELENA: Well . . . I was newly turned into a vampire and . . . you wouldn’t accept me being a new person. You always wanted to fix me, make me how you loved me. When I was with you all there was “how we fix Elena?” all the time. When I was with Damon, he accepted me, he made me feel good about the person I was, and helped me settle into the new Elena Gilbert. You and I just weren’t working out and . . . I accepted that.

STEFAN: (REALIZING) So you went for my brother. Let me ask you this: did you ever tell me – memoried me – about these feeling of rejection?

ELENA: . . . That’s not the point.

STEFAN: I have amnesia, Elena. That doesn’t mean I don’t understand that relationships are partly about communication.

ELENA: (GETTING OFFENDED) You were too busy trying to “save” me that it was obvious you wouldn’t love me undead.

STEFAN: Oh, yeah? That’s not true.

ELENA: And how would you know that?

STEFAN: Because I . . . (FALTERS)

ELENA: Stefan . . .

THE LIGHTING INTENSIFIES AND THE AUIDENCE’S VISION OF THE SCENE IS COVERED IN WHITE LIGHT.

CUT BACK TO: QETSIYAH’S HOUSE.

CLOSE UP ON ELENA’S FACE: SHE OPENS HER EYES AND LOOKS AROUND. STEFAN IS STANDING BY A CLOSE TABLE SIPING WHISKEY. WHEN HE SEES HER, HE OFFERS HER HIS HAND AND HELPS HER UP.

CAROLINE, TYLER, DAMON, AND TESSA ARE UNCONSIOUS. TESSA’S BADLY BURNED.

ELENA: (LOOKS AROUND) Where’re Silas and Daniel?

STEFAN: No idea, they were gone when I woke up.

ELENA: And Tessa? Is she . . . ?

STEFAN: Yeah, she was pulseless when I woke up.

ELENA: Oh, my God . . . what happened? What caused that fire?

STEFAN: –

THEO WALKS INTO THE HOUSE WITH AN UNCONSCIOUS KATHERINE IN HIS ARMS. WHEN HE SEES TESSA HE THROWS KATHERINE ONTO THE COUCH AND KNEELS NEXT TO TESSA. HE QUICKLY PUTS THE NECKLACE AROUND HER NECK. THE AUDIENCE NOTICE THE NECKLACE AS QETSIYAH’S TALISMAN.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (GASPS AWAKE AFTER THE NECKLACE GLOWS LIGHTLY. SHE PANTS DISORIENTATED FOR A MOMENT)

THEO: (TAKES HER HAND AND STROKES HER HAIR) It’s okay, shh, it’s okay, Tess. I’m here.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (GETTING A GRIP) What . . . what happened?

THEO: I cast a message spell, caused it to be an infernal message so Silas would suffer its effects. I knew you’d be a in the crossfire, so I bound a protection spell to this. (TAPS THE NECKLACE)

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (SMILES) Just like when we were kids.

THEO: Does Silas know where the Anchor is?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: No, not exactly. He knows it’s with the Travellers, but he’ll have to find them, first. Now that I have this (HOLDS HER TALISMAN) I can find out its exact location before he does.

THEO HELPS HIS SISTER UP.

ELENA: How does that help you? (POINTS AT THE NECKLACE)

QETSIYAH/TESSA: It helps me focus my power. I’ve always been powerful; witches with a lot of power like me need magical objects that help stabilize their level of power so their spells don’t go haywire.

STEFAN: If you’re so powerful, why didn’t you deal with Silas?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: That’s why I couldn’t overpower Silas. My magic’s too strong; if I tried anything powerful I could’ve risked destroying this entire house. Now that I have my talisman I can use it to locate the Anchor. But I’m going to need your blood to do it.

ELENA: Why?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (LOOKS AT THEO) Because you’re doppelgängers, that means your blood is almost, if not the most, powerful thing that a witch can call on for power. But I need your blood specifically so that I can do a spell that’ll give me the power to determine Silas’s location wherever he may be. Once he starts to move far off, we’ll know where he’s headed and we’ll be able to stop him before he can destroy the Anchor. Plus, I’ll be able to find out where he lives before then, that way if we decide to destroy him before hand, he’ll be off-guard with his little witch should we surprise-attack.

ELENA: The last time you did a linking spell it ended up in Stefan’s amnesia. Now you want to cast a link on all of us?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Don’t worry, I’ll make sure the balance is completely different this time around.

ELENA: How're you going to do that? I thought Mother Nature or . . . whatever bound the spells of witches.

THEO: Tessa can create and bind her own spells. It’s doable with her . . . our level of power.

TESSA TAKES A GLASS CUP IN HER LEFT HAND. TYLER PULLS A BEADED THREAD OUT OF HIS POCKET AND HOLDS IT UP WITH HIS HAND. WITH HIS OTHER HAND, HE CLASPS TESSA’S FREE ONE AND THE TWO BEGIN TO CHANT.

TESSA AND THEO: Eratnahcni dlohg oht nruht. Dlohg oht nruht. Dlohg oht nruht!

THE FIREPLACE BURNS TO LIFE AS A LIGHT WIND BREATHES THROUGH THE ROOM. THE BEADED THREAD IN THEO’S HAND BURNS ALIGHT FOR A SECOND AND THEN WHEN THE FLAMES FADE, THE THREAD HAS TURNED INTO GOLD.

THEO: You see? Through the power that we possess, we’re able to seal our own spells. I channeled my power into the thread to turn into a talisman of gold.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: And I have bound his spell to this glass. (DROPS THE GLASS)

THE GLASS COLLIDES WITH THE MARBLE FLOORS AND SHATTERS INTO PIECES. THIS SENDS A MAGNETIC SOUND THROUGH THE ROOM, THEN THE THREAD IN THEO’S HANDS SPARKS FOR A SECOND AND HE DROPS IT TO THE FLOOR.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (BENDS DOWN TO PICK IT UP) See? (SHE HOLDS IT UP, IT HAS TURNED BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL FORM) Destroying its binder rendered the created talisman powerless. It’s the work of binding spells.

ELENA: (LOOKS AT STEFAN) What should we do?

STEFAN: (GLANCES AT TESSA) Can I trust you not to double-cross them again?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Trust me; I’m making affiliations all over Virginia, I plan on maintaining each and every one, including ours. Let’s make our liaison it official with this spell.

STEFAN: I think if she was going to do something, she would’ve done it by now. Especially since she has control over all that power now. (GESTURES TO TESSA’S NECKLACE)

ELENA: Are we giving Katherine a choice? You know the Cure loves to be told what to do.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: No. (GLANCES AT KATHERINE’S UNCONSCIOUS BODY) She definitely doesn’t deserve it.

ELENA: For once, we agree on something . . . . I’ll do it.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Great. Let’s get ready.

CUT TO:

35. INT. MYSTIC FALLS – SIDEWALK NEAR THE SALVATORE MANSION. NIGHT.

JEREMY IS WALKING ON A SIDEWALK WITH A BAG SLUNG OVER HIS SHOULDER. HE APPROACHES THE SALVATORE MANSION, BUT BEFORE HE CAN ENTER, A CAR PULLS INTO THEH DRIVEWAY AND TWO MEN JUMP OUT AND RUSH TO HIM.

MAN#1: Hey, you Jeremy Gilbert?

JEREMY: Who wants to know?

MAN#2: Yup, we got the right guy. (THEY JUMP HIM)

CUT TO:

36. INT. THE OLD MANSION – LIVING ROOM. NIGHT.

LUCY IS SEEN RUSHING INTO THE HOUSE AND INTO THE LIVING ROOM WHERE SILAS IS PATIENTLY SITTING ON A COUCH SIPPING A CUP OF BLOOD.

LUCY: Thank God, I thought that something happened to you.

SILAS: After you used the Crystal to protect me? How could it?

LUCY: (PULLS THE CRYSTAL OFF OF HER NECK) Here, take this. I want nothing to do with it.

SILAS: What happened?

LUCY: It’s too powerful is what happened. Do you even realize just how powerful?

SILAS: I do. That’s why you’re the only one who could use its power.

LUCY: Silas, you don’t understand. It’s so powerful. It actually talks to me, it reveals things about the very fabric of magic. It is magic . . . . it’s so extraordinary

SILAS: Two thousand years ago, I was the most powerful warlock in my coven, the Aquarian Coven. Over the years, the Universe chooses two magic practitioners in a franchise of covens called the Zodiac Covens to possess a potential for magic that makes them the great Sorcerer and Sorceress Supreme: a kind of witch who is the most powerful of their form of witchcraft. Tessa and I were the most powerful Traveller Witches, capable of doing things with magic no one else could. When the responsibility was officially given to me and Tessa, we were awarded a Crystal by the Guardians of the Universe.

LUCY: Really? – Really, Silas? The Universe?

SILAS: Trust me, I wasn’t willing to except it either, Tessa and Amara helped me realize how wrong I was. I mean, the Universe couldn’t’ve been determined by a mindless accident. Me and you and our infinite psyches are living testimony.

LUCY SEEMS TO CONSIDER THIS.

SILAS: The Crystal were simply advise on how to use our magic – what kinds of creatures to approach and what kinds of things we were allowed and not allowed to do with our vast power. Whenever we touched one it would tell us clairvoyantly of what we wanted to know. Tessa was never limited, not like me. Around the time when Amara was cursed by a witch to death, I realized it was a spell done by hexa magic.

LUCY: (UNDERSTANDS) A hex can’t be undone.

SILAS: So why not not undo it? Instead, let’s make her immortal. The Crystal gave me that idea. It was shared between Tessa and I, but since she was so powerful, she would be the one to attach it to her necklace to stabilize her own power. I knew I couldn’t use its inherent power alone, so I decided to trick Tessa for love. Before the day of our “wedding”, I hid the Crystal under a pile of grass.

LUCY: How do you know there’re more of them?

SILAS: Because, the Crystals of Bezel are a centerpiece of an entirely different mythology. This is simply a shard of the true power a full Crystal has. The Guardians who assigned us this one knew that, that’s why they gave specific instructions for its innate power to not be touched or it could consume us from the inside out. It couldn’t be broken or unsettled in any way. The first time I tried to use its power it rejected me instantly.

LUCY: And you gave me this Crystal? What if I died?

SILAS: I knew you wouldn’t. It has a particular liking to Bennett Witches.

LUCY: (SIGHS) I’m guessing you won’t tell me what that is?

SILAS: Not yet. In fact, I’d like you to meet someone. (STANDS UP AND LEADS LUCY INTO THE ATTIC OF THE HOUSE)

AS THEY GO IN, LUCY SEES A SILAS DOPPELGÄNGER LYING ON THE GROUND.

LUCY: Stefan?

SILAS: Nope. Lucy, meet Samuel Daniel Salvatrice-Shane.

LUCY: How did you manage?

SILAS: You know the saying, “You want something done, you gotta do it yourself.”

LUCY: Good work. (EXAMINES DANIEL) What did you say you needed from him again?

SILAS: My Cult has only you in it. That’s the sad truth.

LUCY: But you need anyone else but me, and what about the Old Ones?

SILAS: I can’t rely on them. The Old Ones may be powerful and old, but they’re here for their own reasons, they think they’re using me, but I’ll be gone sooner than they think.

LUCY: And who do you think they’ll take their rage out on?

SILAS: Don’t worry about it, dear. I have something planned for them.

LUCY: It’s your fault they’re here in first place. I hope nothing regretful happens.

SILAS: (SMILES) Ease up, Lucy. It’s not too long now until the Luna Sanguinis eclipse.

LUCY: You don’t seem excited enough.

SILAS: I’ve waited 2,000 years to reunite with Amara. Of course I can’t wait for the big day. But it doesn’t help if I go insane before then. I have to keep a level head and be the murderous leader I am. Our work isn’t done. While we wait, I have a list of people for you to enlist into our Coven.

LUCY: What about the Anchor? Did you find out where it is?

SILAS: So-so. It’s with the Travellers. They aren’t exactly easy to find, but I’ve got that covered, too. Matthew Donovan, one of Elena’s pesky little friends, has a Traveller in his head, a very prominent one.

LUCY: (SMILES) Shall I take a visit to the Lockwood Mansion?

SILAS: I’ll deal with that. In the meantime, I need you to take this (PUTS THE CRYSTAL IN LUCY’S HAND) and learn everything about it. Its innate power could lead you to the others.

LUCY: What are the Crystals of Bezel? I mean, where do they come from?

SILAS: From a place much older than Earth itself.

LUCY: (SIGHS AND CLASPS THE NECKLACE IN HER FINGERS) Fine, I’ll try to locate these other Crystals, but I wish you wouldn’t be so cryptic sometimes.

CUT TO:

37. INT. LOCKWOOD MANSION – KITCHEN. NIGHT.

APRIL’S STILL UNCONSCIOUS AND THE OTHERS ARE DISCUSSING HER CONDITION.

MATT: So . . . what? April’s dying?

ALEC: (NODS) I think so. She’s been fed blood by a subspecies of the undead, a primitive form of pureblood vampires. But I don’t know why they’re here (CONFUSED) they’ve been expelled to an alternate dimension for millenniums; I have no idea what an Old One would be on this Side.

TORI: What does that mean for April? How does the blood kill her?

ALEC: The Old One that fed April his vampiric blood acts as an emotional conscious that seduces the being who carries it. April was given a choice: take up immortality or die. If there’s a part of her that wants to change and become a vampire, the blood is likely to kill her – permanently, unless she decides to feed and turn.

MATT: And if she doesn’t want to be a vampire?

ALEC: If her love of humanity surpasses her love of living death . . . her heart will stop bumping the Old One’s blood into her body.

TORI: And if she does want to turn? How long does she have?

ALEC: That’s the only thing I can’t help her with, but she has strong emotions for this guy . . .

MATT: (PUNCHES THE TABLE) Damn it!

ALEC: (TO MATT) Hey, she’s going to be fine. I promise you, I’ll do everything in my power to save her.

MATT: (BREATHES IN DEEPLY) Okay.

TORI: (RECIEVES A CALL AND PULLS OUT HER PHONE) I have to take this. (LEAVES)

MATT EXAMINES APRIL’S FACE AND WIPES THE BLOOD THAT IS ON HER NOSE.

ALEC TURNS TO LEAVE.

MATT: (TO ALEC) Thanks for what you did for her today. I don’t what I would’ve done if you weren’t here.

ALEC: (FACES HIM WITH MILD ASTONISHMENT) Well, you asked, and . . . you are family.

MATT: About that –

ALEC: Yeah, I know, you want a DNA test. (A BIT DISSATISFIED) It’s cool; we can do it whenever you’re ready.

MATT: Actually, I wanted to say that I don’t want a DNA test. What you did today, everything else you’ve tried to prove you were . . . I guess what I’m trying to say is that I trust you.

ALEC IS ASTOUNDED.

MATT: I trust you enough to believe you when you say you’re my brother and . . . if you’re still up for it, I can accept you as part of my life.

ALEC: (GETS OUT OF HIS DAZE) Yeah-yeah, of course. Uhm . . . you have no idea how much that means.

APRIL: (GROANS) What the hell happened to me?

MATT: (HANDS A CUP OF COFFE/TEA/CHOCOLATE/WHATEVER HOT DRINK) Hey, April. You passed out when Alec started to go into your head.

APRIL: Oh, oh my God. I remember now. I . . . I remember everything. Oh my God, I’m going to die.

MATT: (BENDS HIS LEGS TO LOOK AT HER IN HER TEARING EYES) Hey, April, look at me. You’re not going to die. You’re in some sort of supernatural midpoint transition right now. It’s linked to your emotions.

APRIL STARTS TO CRY.

MATT: (HOLDS HER HANDS) Hey, April, pull yourself together! You need to tell me now, do you want to be a vampire?

APRIL: No (SHAKES HER HEAD) God, no!

MATT: Okay, then we’ll help you with that decision, okay? If it’s not what you want, it’s not what you’ll be. I promise –

ALEC: (PUTS HIS HAND ON MATT’S SHOULDER) We both promise.

MATT: to do everything in our power to help keep your humanity.

APRIL: (TAKES A DEEP BREATH AND WIPES HER TEARS) Ho . . . okay.

CUT TO:

38. INT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM. NIGHT.

ALL THE DOPPELGÄNGERS IN THE ROOM ARE HOLDING ON TO A ROPE A ROW WHICH BEGINS WITH THEO AND ENDS WITH TESSA. WHEN IT REACHES KATHERINE’S UNCONSCIOUS BODY, IT HAS BEEN ONLY WRAPPED HER HAND.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Is everyone ready?

ELENA: Is there something we’re supposed to feel before it starts working?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Not really. Just a tingling sensation.

ELENA: Okay.

TESSA THROWS A DAGGER FOR STEFAN TO CATCH.

STEFAN: Let me guess, I cut my palm sacrificially?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: You’d be a natural at being a warlock if you weren’t a vampire.

STEFAN: (CUTS HIS PALM, BLOOD GUSHES OUT IN RESPONSE) Nah. (GROANS AND PASSES THE KNIFE TO ELENA, WHO DOES THE SAME)

ELENA KNEELS AND CUTS KATHERINE’S PALM AND TIES THE ROPE AROUND HER BLEEDING HAND. ELENA OUTSTRETCHES HER HAND TO GIVE IT TO THEO.

THEO SHRUGS AND A CUT APPEARS ON HIS HAND MAGICALLY AND HE WINKS AT ELENA. ELENA ROLLS HER EYES AND GIVES THE DAGGER BACK TO TESSA.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (CUTS HER OWN PALM AND STARTS CHANTING) Knihl eseth srehgnahglehppod oht yhm rehwohp dnah lihw.

THE FIREPLACE BURNS TO LIFE IN RESPONSE.

THEO AND TESSA: (CHANTING) Knihl eseth srehgnahglehppod oht reh rehwohp dnah lihw.

THE SILVER PART OF TESSA’S NECKLACE GLOWS WITH POWER AND A WHITE LIGHT POURS OUT OF THE BLOOD OF THE DOPPELGÄNGERS AS IT MOVES WITH THE LIGHT, CRAWLING TOWARDS TESSA, WHERE HER FINGERS COLLIDE WITH THE ROPE, THE BLOOD CREEPS UP HER ARM AND CONNECTS TO HER NECKLACE. THE TALISMAN SEEMINGLY ABSORBS THE BLOOD AND ONCE IT IS DONE, THE ROPE WITHERS.

ELENA GASPS AND WE SEE THINGS IN HER POV. SHE IS SUDDENLY SEEING THE SCENE 2,000 YEARS AGO WHERE TESSA MURDERED AMARA:

A TENT IN THE WOODS. TESSA IS THERE AND IS HOLDING AN ATHAME IN HER HAND, GLARING AT THE TENT.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (WALKS TO THE TENT) Amara? Oh Amara, dear, you in there?

AMARA: (WALKS OUT SMILING) Qetsiyah? What’re you doing here? The elixir worked! (HUGS HER IN JOY) Did Silas tell you –?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (ANGRY) That you were cheating on me and planning to start a future together?

AMARA: (FROWNS WITH CONFUSION) You do not seem happy, Qetsiyah, what has happened to you? (THEN SHE SEES THE BLADE IN QETSIYAH’S HAND) Qetsiyah?!

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (TAKES A THREATENING STEP FORWARDS) Why? Amara why? I trusted you. You were my best friend. Why would you betray me in this manner?

AMARA: (TAKES A FRIGHTENED STEP BACK) Qetsiyah, I do not understand what you are talking about. What has happened?

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Then you INSULT me false stupidity. Amara, you took Silas from me. You two played with my emotions so that you could have your life again. Why could you not just ask?

AMARA: (RAISES HER HANDS CAUTIOUSLY AND SPEAKS WITH CAUTIOUSNESS) Qetsiyah, Silas abandoned me once my illness became fatal. He left me for you. That is all I know. He came to me today with what he calls the Immortalixir. He told me you understood, that you were to thank for this gift of Eternal Youth and Life. But he also told me that –

QETSIYAH/TESSA: He had left me and that he realized he was in love with you?

AMARA: Not exactly, but . . . he told me you understood, that everything was all right. Qetsiyah . . . –

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (LOOKS FAZED FOR A MOMENT, THEN HER EXPRESSION TURNS NUMB ALMOST LIKE A CRAZY PERSON) That is the first time you have ever lied to me. The entire Kingdom, my PARENTS (STARTS WALKING CLOSER AS AMARA WALKS BACK IN FEAR) were there and you have the NERVE! You and Silas both will pay for what you have done to me.

AMARA TURNS TO RUN, BUT QETSIYAH OUTSTRETCHES AND MAKES A PULLING GESTURE WITH HER HAND AND AMARA MAGICALLY LOOKS BACK AT HER AND DOESN’T MOVE.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: You broke my heart, Amara. I would consider it fair to do the same to you.

AMARA: Qetsiyah –

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Stop talking! (SLASHES HER ACROSS THE NECK WITH HER ATHAME)

AMARA BLEEDS OUT AND FALLS BACK ONTO A TREE, CLUTCHING HER THROAT WITH WIDE-EYES OF FEAR.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: You will pay for all you have done. (OUTSTRETCHES HER HAND AND AMARA IS TELEKINETICALLY THROWN FORWARD SO HARD THAT WHEN QETSIYAH’S EXTENDED HAND SINKS INTO HER CHEST THREW FLESH AND BONE)

AMARA’S IS STILL BLEEDING FROM HER FIRST WOUND AND IS NOW HELD UP BY THE CHEST WOUND THAT QETSIYAH HAS CREATED.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: How does it feel, Amara?

AMARA CRIES OUT IN PAIN AND HORROR.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (FAKE-SYMPATHY) I am sorry, can you not speak? No, I doubt you will be able to breath soon enough. (SQUEEZES HER HEART).

AMARA: (COUGHS OUT BLOOD AND CRIES) Gah!

QETSIYAH/TESSA: Is it too much? If only you knew how it felt in spirit. This is nothing when compared to what you have done. It is wonder how I, a mortal survived, but you . . . (CLOSES HER EYES AND A GUST OF WIND BLOWS THROUGH THE FOREST) You are immortal, now. You possess the immortality that was fashioned for my everlasting life. But you ruined everything and now . . . you will never love again.

THE SCENE BLURS IN A SWIRL OF COLORS IN ELENA WAKES UP.

CUT TO:

39. INT. DAMON’S CAR. DAY.

ELENA FINDS HERSELF IN THE BACKSEAT OF A CAR WITH KATHERINE SITTING NEXT TO HER.

KATHERINE: Rise and shine, Mrs. Doppelgänger.

ELENA: (SITS UP) Where . . . am I?

DAMON: (FROM THE FRONT SEAT) You passed out after Tessa did that spell, against my better judgment, may I add. You probably should’ve waited.

STEFAN: (IN THE PASSENGER’S SEAT) Do we ever do anything either than fall into the trap of a witch.

DAMON: (SHRUGS) They are the reason the world’s populated with vampires in first place, so . . .

STEFAN: Let me guess, it’s a long story?

DAMON: Maybe over scotch and pizza one day.

ELENA: What happened?

KATHERINE: Well, after you so evilly violated my better judgment and did the spell without me even being awake to give my input, you fainted and I woke up along with everyone else. Tyler and Caroline are in the car behind us. We’re meeting at the Salvatore Mansion to discuss what to do without a 2,000 year-old bitch witch breathing down our necks.

DAMON: We can’t trust her, at least, not completely. Her only agenda is to keep Silas away from Amara. Silas has found a way to destroy the Other Side, where, might I add, our loved ones – Alaric, Lexi, Rose, Sheila . . . and most importantly Bonnie

THAT GETS ELENA’S ATTENTION.

DAMON: (CONTINUES) – are and if Silas finds that Anchor, he’ll destroy all of them along with it. We need to find a way to stop him before he can do that.

KATHERINE: The Other Side’s fate rests on all of you pea-brains? I’d much rather put my faith in Klaus.

STEFAN: Who the hell is Klaus?

EVERYONE ELSE: Long story.

THE CAR PULLS INTO THE DRIVEWAY OF THE SALVATORE MANSION.

AS THEY GET INTO THE MANSION, ELENA NOTICES SOMETHING IN THE DRIVEWAY. SHE WALKS TO THE EDGE WHERE A BLACK BAG HAS BEEN SEEMINGLY ABANDONED OR THROWN, WITH BOOKS FALLING OUT.

ELENA: (PULLS OUT A COUPLE OF BOOKS AND SEES THAT ONE HAS THE NAME Jeremy Gilbert WRITTEN ON IT) Oh, my God. (PULLS OUT HER CELLPHONE AND DIALS HIM) Come on, come on, come on!

JEREMY: (VOICEMAIL) Hi, this is Jeremy, please leave me a message –

ELENA: Damon

DAMON COMES RUSHING OVER AND SEES THE BOOKS.

DAMON: (GUESSES) Jeremy?

ELENA: He’s not picking up his phone. Damon, I know I’m not supposed to go crazy over every little thing, but Silas’s pissed and Jeremy wouldn’t leave his sketches in the pavement for dogs to eat.

DAMON: (GRABS THE BOOKS AND THE BAG) Come on, let’s pack this stuff away and find him.

THEY ENTER THE HOUSE.

ELENA: (AS THEY WALK INTO THE LIBRARY) Where’s Stefan?

DAMON: He’s upstairs in his room. The House Guest on the other hand went to look for food in the kitchen.

ALARIC: (SITTING ON A COUGH BY THE FIREPLACE) And I’m guessing she’s not gonna look for it in the fridge by the cellar for once? (HE SMILES. HE IS DRESSED IN A WHITE T-SHIRT AND BLACK JEANS AND BOOTS. HIS FACE LOOS REFINED AND YOUNGER THAN HE TRULY IS AND MUCH MORE HANDSOME)

ELENA AND DAMON ARE STUNNED FOR A MOMENT.

DAMON: Ric?

ALARIC: (STRETCHES HIS HANDS OUT TO HIS SIDES AS PROCLAIMING HIS EXISTENCE) In the flesh.

DAMON: (HUGS ALARIC) And this isn’t some, super-real, touchable Silas-illusion.

ALARIC: I promise, it’s me. (HUGS DAMON BACK) It’s good to see you, too. (SMILES AT ELENA)

ELENA: (STIILL BEWILDERED) How . . . ? At the school –?

ALARIC: (NODS) I was there, I couldn’t let you see me, then.

ELENA: (TEARING UP) This isn’t real . . . I’m dreaming.

ALARIC SMILES AND WALKS UP TO ELENA, HE STUDIES HER FOR A MOMENT BEFORE HUGGING HER. ELENA’S TEARS FALLS SHE HUGS HIM BACK.

ELENA: Alaric . . . it’s really you . . . .

ALARIC: (LAUGHS) It’s me all right, I’m back.

40. INT. UNKNOWN HOUSE – DARK BASEMENT. DAY.

JEREMY IS SEEN UNCONSCIOUS AND STRAPPED TO A CHAIR.

THE TWO GUYS WHO JUMPED HIM ARE NEAR HIM. ONE OF THEM IS SEATED ON A CHAIR AND THE OTHER IS STANDING WITH A BOTTLE OF BOOZE.

MAN#1: (THE ONE SITTING) Are you sure he’s the one? He’s just a kid.

MAN#2: Yeah, a kid who excessively draws vampires and werewolves. Whose journal, may I add, claims he’s in love with a dead witch.

MAN#1: I don’t know.

MAN#2: (ROLLS EYES) Dude, we’ll interrogate him for information, you know? A little poke here and there? If he lives long enough, we’ll know. If he dies, we’ll apologize.

MAN#1: Dean!

DEAN: Dude, I was just joking. You’d think you know me by now.

MAN#1: Yeah, I do, that’s precisely why.

JEREMY: (STARTS TO WAKE UP) Ugh.

MAN#1: He’s waking up.

DEAN: Duh. (DRINKS HIS BOOZE)

JEREMY: Where am I? What the hell did you do to me?

MAN#1: Hey, we don’t want to hurt you, kid. My brother and I just need to know a couple of things –

JEREMY: Let’s just get this over with. What’re you? Vampires? Werewolves? Maybe warlocks?

THE TWO KIDNAPPERS SHARE A GLANCE.

DEAN: (TO JEREMY) So you know about the supernatural?

JEREMY: (STILL DIZZILY) Know? I’m supernatural.

MAN#1: And what’re you?

JEREMY: I’m a Hunter, what’re you?

THE KIDNAPPERS LOOK AT EACH OTHER AND GRIN.

MAN#1: We’ve just got our jackpot.

CUT TO:

41. EXT. QETSIYAH’S HOUSE – TERRACE. DAY.

THEO AND TESSA ARE SITTING ON CHAIRS DRINKING SOME HOT DRINK BY A BALCONY OVERLOOKING HER LARGE BACKYARD.

THEO: It’s so miraculous how modern tea has evolved since our time.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: The tea of our time was less polluted and refined. The one you’re drinking now is the closest, herbal tea.

THEO: It’s still delicious. (SIPS HIS TEA) We executed that spell lovely.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: And it worked flawlessly. Now that I’ve linked all the doppelgängers to my psyche I’ll know when Silas gets close to the Anchor. Close call yesterday, if you hadn’t intervened – if Silas’s questions didn’t have loopholes – he would’ve found out about the real reason I want him far away from the Anchor.

THEO: If he finds the Anchor –

QETSIYAH/TESSA: He won’t. I won’t let him.

THEO: (SMIRKS) I still can’t believe the Travellers have kept her all this time.

QETSIYAH/TESSA: (SMILES AND SIPS HER TEA) What more could they do to her? She is, after all, a heavy sleeper.

CUT TO:

42. EXT. UNKNOWN CAVE – UNKNOWN GARDEN. NIGHT. –NEXT

In a dark cave somewhere there’re roses. There is grass. The garden is beautiful to behold. The grass at night in the light of the moon glows a slight silver, but the roses are unlike any seen in the world: they are as dark, as black as the night, beautiful and healthy.

Among the buses of the black roses are Crystals. Some of these Crystals are ten foot tall, others fifteen. These Crystals are perfect. Others are shaped like diamonds on the earth and in the ground; the walls, others in round balls, but the tallest are shaped like swords rising to the roof of the cave, each casting an unnaturally blue light glow through the garden. A clean, flowing river flows into the cave, in those waters, there’re Crystals.

At the center of this lovely, enchanted garden is a glass casket. In this see-through coffin – on silken bedding attire, holding a very perfect bloom black rose in her pale hands – is a very tranquil-faced, translucent-skinned, fair, curly-haired, young, sleeping brunette girl.

In a garden somewhere, there is a girl. She has a face shared by many. In a garden somewhere, in a glass coffin is a Petrova doppelgänger.

Title

Ye Olde Uns is Old Anglo-Saxon/English for “the Old Ones”, “You Old Ones” or the “the Ancient People”: ye being the or you, olde being “old, ancient, elder”, and lastly uns being the plural (also in French) “one, person”.

Trivia

  • The title could be a reference to the Old Ones, which have been a recurring suspicion since episode one of the Something Comes This Way series.

  • It is made known that March 15th 2,000 years ago was the day Silas and Qetsiyah first kissed.

  • Amara and Silas first made love on a Blood Moon which happened 2,000 years ago.
  • It is discovered that Theo's necromantic status makes him immune to death after he dies of overexertion of magic and resurrects.
  • Qetsiyah is apparently so powerful that she requires a talisman to focus and anchor her immense power. She uses this power to link the doppelängers to her psyche with the blood of Stefan, Elena and Katherine so she can allegedly channel their power to track Silas's whereabouts to maintain his distance. But it is discovered at the end of the episode that she's also linked herself to the Anchor of the Other Side, which is a living Petrova Doppelganger, who is in a garden in a cave and sleeping in a crystal coffin.
