Thoughts on Season 3 and apologies

First off, yes, I am still here. I have been very busy since school began back in August with a lot of work and personal stuff. As I type this, I am watching the last episode of season three and I have to say I was very wrong about my initial analysis of Elena. She's absolutely everything like Katherine and I hate that. I think it would be nice to see Elena stop repeating the major Katherine took (mainly saying she doesn't want to choose a Salvatore brother to love) that made most fans hate her. Elena needs to continue to deal with her feelings for both brothers and work them out before she makes a final choice. I feel like season 3 has been a major character developer too. Thoughts on Seasons 1 & 2
Now that I've begun season 3, I have to say, there's a lot to reflect on. Seasons one and two had a lot of drama and a lot of tragedy involved. . . I have to give Nina Dobrev her credit. . . playing such opposite roles as Katherine and Elena must take a lot. Elena as a character has evolved over these two seasons into a semi independent young woman able to deal with her lineage: the daughter of a vampire and a human, the doppleganger of a vampire at the center of a frenzy in 1864 who brought down the founding families of Mystic Falls. I'm still a Stelena fan, although I'm beginning to do what Katherine did and "switch Salvatores" due to some developments in season 3.
