Trudie Peterson was Isobel's best friend in high school in Grove Hill, Virginia. She also knew about vampires. She was later killed by an unknown man by being pushed down stairs in her own house, who was compelled to keep Elena from searching for her mother.

Early HistoryEdit

Trudie lived in Grove Hill, Virginia. She went to high school with Isobel Flemming and they were both cheerleaders. After Isobel became pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl, they lost contact.

Season OneEdit

Elena found Trudie in her search to look for her mother through a picture of them in high school. When Elena visited her, Trudie sent a text message saying, "She's here", to someone. She showed Elena photos of her mother and said that they lost contact 17 years ago when Isobel left to give birth to Elena. Elena noticed that Trudie had spiked her tea with vervain and was ordered to leave.

Later, a mysterious man showed up at Trudie's door and he thanked her for sending the text message. She refused to let him in, but he managed to force his way in, as he's not a vampire, and when she tried to escape up the stairs, he grabbed her and threw her back down them, killing her instantly. The mystery man later delivered a message to Elena "Stop looking. She doesn't want to know you, she doesn't want to talk to you. You need to stop looking, do you understand?" and when Elena nodded, he stepped back onto the road where he is crushed by a truck, which he was compelled to do so by Isobel.
