Who will die in the mid-season finale?

Alaric Saltzman

As you probably know somebody will die in Thursday's mid-season finale. That character is somebody we've known since season one. Let's assume that Elena, Damon and Stefan are safe.
That leaves: Tyler, Caroline, Matt, Bonnie, Jeremy, Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Carol Lockwood.
This is my theory: Tyler and Caroline are probably safe as their love triangle story just started. Bonnie is also safe as her father arrives in 4x10 to tell her to stop seeing Shane. Shane needs Jeremy for his plan, so he's also safe. That leaves Matt (who is the only main cast human being) Liz and Carol. Since Tyler is going against Klaus, maybe Klaus will kill his mother as a revenge. (We also know that there will be a lot of casualities (read "dead hybrids") in the episode, so maybe Klaus wants to avenge them.

  It can't be Bonnie because she's to important at the moment and her father's coming in soon. It can't be Klaus, Tyler or Caroline because of the Karolyler scenes coming up. It can't be Shane because Bonnie father tell's him to stay away from her and it can't be Jeremy because his story lines are just beginning. It can't be Matt becxause he's human and I don't think that they'd want to kill off the only involved human in the show. That leaves Carol and Liz. By bet is on Carol since she's going to have a moment with Tyler and and everything always ends up going wrong when the characters have nice moments.

  I personally think that our dear Adrian Shane isn't working with the Five, just manipilating them and is instead in the Greater Evil's (I think its Silas') camp, he wants to free the First Immortal and he's using the five to do it. For that he needs Expression Magic, magic that in fact is anchored by Silas, that with the blood of a member of the Five can revive him and/or allow him to use magic again.
  Most likely, given that Klaus discovers something in this upcoming episode and goes on a War path indicates at the possibility of Tyler's death - sad by true, and he wouldn't kill Tyler because Caroline wouldn't forgive him? This is a guy that daggers his own siblings because they pissed him off, he is still half werewolf and he has a very potent temper like all his kind, he won't think about the consequences - he'll just react.

  I think Klaus will be the one to die at the end of season 4 to be honest. I cant see Bonnie or Caroline dying, with so few female regulars, they seemed likely to survive the entire series now. I can see Tyler, Matt or Jeremy dying in the next season or two.

  I think Klaus (maybe with Kol) and Silas will team up, Silas will allow Klaus to rule through brute force, while Silas takes control of nature and enslave the spirits - becoming Earth's Sorcerer Supreme.
  Klaus, Kol, Rebekah or Elijah's deaths would put me off, I think. I like the Four Originals, and I believe Rebekah is a little sensitive to everything, Klaus and Kol are my favourites to survive but I also like Elijah and Rebekah.
  For some reason, many of the main characters' (Stefan, Damon, Elena) deaths wouldn't put me off the show although the show's point would technically end, although Jeremy's position has been minor to date but now he's actually picking up. My personal thoughts are that Jeremy will eventually be in Silas' camp, don't know why, its just a gut feeling.

  The issue is that Tyler cannot do anything against Klaus and expect to live through it, he can try to Dessicate Klaus but I doubt a Witch would willingly turn around and help Tyler, who would be stupid enough - living - to threaten Klaus?
  If anything, I think Tyler is starting to learn what crossing Klaus means, like Katherine he's going to be on the run from Klaus for the rest of his immortal life. Tyler betrayed Klaus and helped Dessicate him the first time, bad, now he unsired 12 Hybrids (which he can't make more of, may I add) and was planning to dessicate him and then kill him while his spirit was in Rebekah's body. Oh no, Hybrid or not, Klaus will never again forgive him.
  Klaus, when he gets his hands on Tyler would be to either, 1) Kill Him, or, 2) Compell him. Either way, the future does not look promising for Tyler.

  actually their plan would have worked if Hayley didn't doublecross them and had really found a witch. But yeah, future is not promising for Tyler. Still, with Rebekah's arrival and with Kol on their side, I'm guessing he will have guts to make another stand up as Klaus killed his mom. Klaus needs to learn too, that he cannot do whatever he wishes and get away with it.

  Well, If Caroline dies then Tyler will have to right to unsire all Klaus's Hybrids and for my own point of view he is only doing it to protect Elena from being staked and he has risked so many lives like Jeremy and Matt. Well in the past he has had Bonnie making deals with him and I found that was such a blackmailish thing to do. Counting on so many human lives to be taken in Season Four of Vampire Diaries and I am counting on a blood bath.

  If they do kill Liz, there won't be any adult left in Mystic Falls, except for Shane (ah, but he lives in Whitmore.... The trope is "There are no adults ."
  By the way, when Connor enters Pastor Young house he is able to deduce easily what happened (the unplugged gas pipe, the zippo on the floor) - but Sheriff Forbes deputy did not means that Police are Useless !

  I actually feel the authors have "defanged" him since he became a Mystic Falls resident.

  Hey, if Klaus and Silas ally together, then they have their advantage again.
  Even IF they cure Klaus and try to kill him, Silas will just make him an original again, especially if Silas has evolved beyond that of an Original. If he were to regain magic as an Immortal, he would be the most powerful entity in existance, I'm sure that Klaus wouldn't be foolish enough not to ally with that.
  As for Klaus being "defanged", maybe we should hope that Rebekah takes Caroline's head off, she's holding him back me thinks.

  I do hope he is badass enough to give Klaus a run for his money, but I don't believe there is a cure at all...
  Why would Silas create a spell to make himself human again? I think it is much more likely that a crazily heartbroken Silas would create a spell to bring his beloved back from the dead! Then everything falls into place: That is what Shane wants (his wife and child back from the dead) and that is what he promised Hayley (just because your parents are dead does not mean you cannot see them)
  i think the whole "Cure" think was just a bait for Rebekah, that there has never been a cure - it's another "Sun and Moon Curse".
