As The Vampire Diaries Wiki Community Team, work hard to make articles look nice with images, we ask that you take the time to read this policy.
When uploading screencaps for the The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, images on pages should be limited to 5 screencaps per scene. This applies to all pages - Episodes, Relationships, Actor pages, etc. We also ask that each image be sized at 250px, this can be done by adding
|250px somewhere in the image brackets.
Articles should be named properly. If you have a image of Stefan Salvatore feeding, it should be named "StefanSalvatoreFeeding.jpg/png" not "w374465632fdfhrgbh34.png/jpg" as it would be hard to put that image on Stefan's article, as we wouldn't know where it was located/
Duplicate images is a very big NO NO, we ask that you search for the picture your about to upload or look on a episode page that the image is from before uploading as we do not allow duplicate images...Usually it will tell you if the image already exists on the wiki. If it does please do not upload the same image twice, as it is not needed.
Fan images are not allowed on pages and should only be posted in comments, forums, blogs, user pages, or message walls. We consider fan images those that've been changed through an image editor like Photoshop. Cropped, color altered, added text and multiple scenes in a single photo is considered fan images.
Gifs are not allowed in any of the galleries (characters, episodes, relationships, species, etc). Gifs are only allowed in user profiles, message walls, user blogs, comments, and user subpages (format: User:your-uername/name-of-the-page).
Every image needs to be categorized with either who is in the image or what season the image is from. At the bottom of every image page there is a add category option. After you upload an image you can either add the category there or if you are uploading multiple images at one time you can use Special:MultipleUpload and in the file description section you can add the category in the summary.
