In 1766, Lily Leroux is trying not to cry at her mother's funeral, as Ysabelle wouldn't forgive her for it. As she now leads the remnants of witches of New Orleans now, Lily thinks they need guidance as her mother had tried to keep them together despite the hurricane spell they caused more than forty years ago. It's revealed that the Mikaelsons have taken over the city and despite the witches' hatred of them, Lily suspected that Ysabelle held an odd soft spot for them. The witches then lift the casket and while Lily's daughter, Marguerite, cries for her grandmother, Lily fought the burning behind her eyes. She believes that her mother should've been buried in the heart of the city, not some shack in the swamp. She thinks the vampires should've forgiven the witches' weakness, but instead they turned a whole army of new vampires and drove the witches out. Lily begins to think that Ysabelle's passing was a sign and it was time for a new era. She decides that the Mikaelsons needed to answer for their sins and she intended to make sure they paid in full.
