Relationship is being mended. Rebekah is the guardian of Klaus' child.
First day they were born.
Siblings, Allies, The birth of Hope has required the family to work together.
He ruined me, too. That's what you forget. Centuries later each of us is broken; you with your anger and paranoia, me with my fear of abandonment, and poor Elijah—he dedicates himself to everyone but himself. We are the strongest creatures in the world, and yet we are damaged beyond repair. We live without hope, but we will never die. We are the definition of cursed—always and forever.
While still humans, Elijah and Klaus are first seen sword fighting against each other, with Rebekah and Henrik watching the sword fighting and enjoying themselves. Until their father, Mikael, arrives, and upsets everything due to Klaus' antics. Mikael takes Elijah's sword from him and easily takes down a submissive Klaus. Elijah, Rebekah, and Henrik watch helplessly as Mikael screams at Klaus until their mother, Esther, says that he has made his point.
On the night of the full moon, Klaus and Henrik went to watch the men turn into wolves, which was forbidden. Klaus later came out of the woods, holding a dead Henrik in his arms. Rebekah and Elijah both gathered around Henrik's body comforting each other, while their mother mourned the death of her youngest son. Mikael and Esther went to the witch, Ayanna imploring her to help bring Henrik back to life but she could not. Mikael and Esther ask Ayanna to help them protect their family by making them stronger than the werewolves. Ayanna refused to do such a spell and so it fell to Esther. Esther used dark magic to give her husband and children strength, speed, and immortality. To complete the ritual Mikael stabbed each of his children. Klaus and Rebekah awakened to find blood all over themselves. Klaus attempted to comfort her, but is stopped by Mikael, who forces her to complete the transformation turning them into the Original Vampires.
Then a little after they became vampires, they burned down the White Oak Tree, since it was the only thing that could kill them. However, the witches saved the ashes and combined them with some daggers that could neutralize all of the Originals (except for Klaus, being both vampire and werewolf making him an hybrid). Then after their mother's death, Klaus stayed behind to help Rebekah bury their mother. Rebekah tells Klaus she will never turn her back on him, and so does Elijah, promising that they will "Stick together as one. Always and forever."
Elijah, Rebekah, and Klaus are living in Italy in the 1200's. Where 'the five', a group of dangerous vampire hunters, are killing all vampire's they come across. Klaus and Elijah talk about how they should be more careful and not get caught while Klaus tells Elijah he should be more worried about Rebekah, who is courting one of the hunter, Alexander. Elijah, Rebekah and Klaus have lunch with Alexander and talk to him about the vampire problem but Alexander does not divulge any information to them. Rebekah is than seen with him at night and he tells her to come with him on his crusade to kill all vampires and she agrees right before he stabs her with the white oak dagger. Alexander daggered her, Klaus, Elijah, Kol and Finn but because of Klaus' werewolf side he is not affected. Klaus than kills Alexander and yells at Rebekah for trusting Alexander over him and than asks her what Alexander promised her in order to get her so vulnerable (we later find out that it was a cure to vampirism). When Stefan talks to Rebekah in present time (2010) she tells him that she and Alexander where engaged to be married and had already picked out a church. Rebekah admits that she truly loved Alexander and thought he loved her as well—but then says that she was a love-struck fool to have the man she loved 'kill' her and for her to then bury him in the place they were to be married. (After Alexander's death she buried him with his sword. The sword would later be used to reveal the truth regarding the cure to vampirism.)
Both Klaus and Elijah are now noblemen in England, attempting to break the hybrid curse that his mother put on him 500 years ago. The brother's are introduced to the first doppelgänger of Tatia, Katerina Petrova, whom they plan on using to break the curse. However, Elijah begins to have feelings for her and when Trevor helps Katerina escape, Klaus assumes Elijah has betrayed him, breaking their relationship for the time being. Rebekah was not seen with them during this time, however, it is implied she and Klaus have always been with each other.
In the 19th century, Elijah and Klaus' relationship is getting worse, as they kept fighting. An example is when Elijah shot Klaus with a revolver. The most important of those years is that Elijah's lover Celeste, was killed as a result of Klaus' actions.

During the dinner, Elijah un-daggers Rebekah along with Finn and Kol, who attack Klaus. Klaus informs them that everything he has done, he did so in order for their family to never have to be alone. Elijah and Rebekah tells Klaus that they are leaving him. However, their mother arrives, claiming she wants all of them to become a family once more.
In Dangerous Liaisons, Rebekah attacks Elena and tells her that it hurt for what she did to her (stab her in the back, literally). When she was about to kill Elena, Elijah stopped her, telling her to leave and not to challenge him. Then in the morning, when Klaus heard of Rebekah's attempt to kill Elena, he threatened to put the dagger in her again, but Rebekah ignores her brother's threat.
At the ball, Elijah greets everyone and tells them to find a partner, as they will dance to a centuries old waltz in a few minutes. Rebekah paired up with Matt, with the thought of killing him to hurt Elena. Klaus was with Caroline and showed her some of his work that he did over the centuries. Elijah went to speak to Elena to tell her he has suspicions about his mother and tells Elena to tell him what his mother tells her. Elena agrees, but after she learns of what Esther's true intentions are towards her return, she lies to Elijah, who immediately knows it.
In All My Children, Elijah found out that their mother was doing a privacy spell since he found the burnt sage. Elijah talks to his sister about their mother and what she thinks of her return. Rebekah thinks he should talk to Finn, since he has been with Esther a lot lately, but Elijah doesn't trust Finn, saying that he hates what they are. Rebekah doesn't think so and tells him that there mother is here to make there family whole again.
But then after Elijah learns that their mother has linked them, Rebekah holds Elena hostage while Elijah, Klaus and Kol confront her. After Esther flees, Elijah informs Rebekah that he is regretful for using her to get what he wants, to which Rebekah replies he was doing it to protect them. Elijah flees while Rebekah stays with Klaus.
In The Murder of One, Rebekah is saddened by the news of Finn's death, while Klaus acts indifferent. Rebekah asks if he would feel the same way if she died. Klaus replies they would know soon enough, should they not get the white ash stake back.
In Before Sunset, Klaus and Rebekah learn of their mother turning Alaric Saltzman into an original. Rebekah pleads with Klaus to leave immediately with her, but he refuses to leave without Elena, as he needs her blood to make more of his hybrids.
Rebekah tells him they don't need anymore hybrids, as they will each other as they always have, Klaus doesn't budge and goes to get Elena, while Rebekah leaves.
In The Departed, Elijah and Rebekah learn of Klaus' situation and return to broker a deal for his body. Elijah promises not to revive him until after Elena's and her childrens' lives, and that it will teach him some manners. Elena asks why he wants to help him after everything he has done, with Elijah replying that he is still his brother and they remain together. Rebekah meets Damon to get Klaus' body, and watches helplessly as Alaric shows up and stakes Klaus. A mourning Rebekah finds Elijah, who is equally upset, with them embracing and comforting each other. Rebekah, overcome with grief, causes Matt's car (with Elena and him in it) to drive off of Wickery Bridge, in order to kill Alaric with Elena's death.
In The Five, Elijah, Rebekah and Klaus are seen in flashbacks, living in Italy in the 1200's. Where 'The Five', a group of dangerous vampire hunters, are killing all vampires they come across. Klaus and Elijah talk about how they should be more careful and not get caught. To which, Klaus responds that Elijah should be more worried about Rebekah, who is courting one of the hunters, Alexander. Elijah, Rebekah and Klaus have lunch with Alexander and talk to him about the vampire problem but Alexander does not divulge any information to them. Rebekah is then seen with him at night and he tells her to come with him on his crusade to kill all vampires. She agrees and he stabs her with the white oak dagger. Alexander succeeded in daggering all five siblings, but because of Klaus' werewolf side he was not affected like the others—resulting in his victory over the hunters. Klaus then he undaggers his family except for Finn—due to his judgmental attitude toward their nature. Klaus berates Rebekah for trusting Alexander over him and asks her what Alexander promised her to get her so vulnerable (we later find out that it was a cure to vampirism).
In American Gothic, Elijah and meets with Rebekah and later conversed with Klaus for the first time, since All My Children, over the phone. Elijah told Klaus he had the cure and he would be returning to Mystic Falls which Klaus seemed thrilled about as Klaus wanted to discuss this matter "like family".
In Pictures of You, Klaus and Rebekah try to convince Elijah of their reasons for the Cure. Elijah rules with allowing Rebekah the Cure for her shot at happiness, much to Klaus' annoyance. He demands to know if Elijah is joking since he is fating him to an "eternity of torture", to which Elijah responds he has made his decision, Klaus angry snarls in Rebekah's ear before walking out.
Later on, Elijah gives Niklaus the White Oak Stake, proving that he has nothing to fear as only the stake can kill him. Klaus bitterly responds Silas will continue to torment him, to which Elijah says he has survived torment over the centuries and will shake this, if not, he will have to outrun him. Klaus laughs, and refuses to spare Katherine's life without the Cure. Elijah tells him as his only living brother he would give him this opportunity to love, yet Klaus is unmoved retorting as Elijah's only living brother, he will make it so Elijah will never know a minute of happiness. The two stand in silence for a moment before Elijah pushes away the stake Klaus taps on his chest, and rests a hand on his face telling him "it's such a hollow little life you lead." before leaving. Elijah was then waiting for Rebekah and gives her the cure but, then Rebekah calls him and knows then he gave the cure to Silas.
In The Originals, Elijah goes to New Orleans after hearing of a plot involving Jane-Anne Deveraux to destroy Klaus. When he arrives, he learns that Klaus is to become a father. Elijah first meets with Klaus upon the gallery, where he tells him to join him telling him he has found out who is conspiring against him. Elijah takes him the a mausoleum where Sophie Deveraux, Jane-Anne's sister and other witches are. Sophie tells Klaus her plot to destroy Marcel by infiltrating his army, Klaus is unconvinced until she tells him he will help her. She brings out Hayley Marshall, a One-night-stand from Klaus' past and reveals to him that she is pregnant with his child. Klaus is clearly in shock, disbelieving and Elijah repeats to him that she is carrying his child. After traveling to New Orleans to investigate a witch threat against Klaus and discovering that Klaus had fathered a child with Hayley, Elijah tried to convince Rebekah to go back to the city and live with him. She refused, telling him she didn't want to abandon her life in Mystic Falls or give up on her hopes for the cure. Elijah countered by telling her that her search for the cure was just a foolish dream and that he could give her family again. She remained adamant on staying in Mystic Falls, though, unconvinced by her brother.

The Vampire Diaries (Season Three)
Rebekah: We're vampires. Our emotions are heightened. I'm stubborn, Elijah is moral, and Nik... Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him. Over a thousand years as a family we've all made that mistake at least once. I've made it several times.
Rebekah: He’s gone, Elijah. There was nothing I could do to stop it.
The Originals (Season One)
Rebekah: You mean to tell me, after all these years, Marcel is alive and well?
Elijah: Quite. Our brother seems to have wandered into a war zone. And I haven't been able to find him. Marcel, who Klaus sired and brought up beneath his own wing, now rules a menagerie of savage vampires running wild, killing in public for any human to come upon. Witches are held in subjugation. I doubt Niklaus had any idea what he was walking into.
Rebekah: Sorry, what was that? I stopped paying attention at "our brother".
Rebekah: Our hateful, traitorous bastard of a brother, who's negated any sympathy I once had for him by his repeated efforts to ensure neither you nor I know happiness outside of his own selfish universe.
Elijah: Always and forever, Rebekah, that is what we once swore to each other.
Elijah: Well, you've called take-backs dozens of times over the centuries and yet when our father found us and chased us from this very city--
Rebekah: I may be old, Elijah, but I'm hardly senile. I know very well I stuck with Klaus, and not three years later he stuck a silver dagger in my chest and sent me into a magical slumber for ninety years. Do you know why? Because I had the audacity to try and live my life on my own without him.
Elijah: Enough. I believe our brother's in trouble, so what ever is going on between Marcel and the witches, it's dire enough that they'd risk bringing an Original back to town. The witches have lured him here, I'd like to know why.
Rebekah to Klaus: It's okay to care. It's okay to want something. That's all Elijah was trying to do, it's all he's ever wanted for you...all we've ever wanted.
Rebekah: Elijah is not just any vampire, and he doesn't break promises. Which means Niklaus has done something dastardly and Klaus-like. Klaus! Get out here and tell me what you've done with our brother, you narcissistic, back-stabbing wanker!
Klaus: I have a plan; gain Marcel's trust, dismantle his empire, honor Elijah's wish that baby be born. I am executing that plan the only way I know how. If you don't like, there's the door...see if I care.
Rebekah's monologue: My brothers and I are the first vampires in all of history - the Originals. 300 years we helped build New Orleans. Now, we've returned to find a city at war. The vampire, Marcel, leads an army against a coven of desperate witches. My brother, Klaus, is playing against both sides, hungry for power, and hoping to protect the werewolf carrying his child. But Marcel has an advantage - he holds our brother, Elijah, captive and has a secret one. Now, in order to get back the brother I love, I have no choice but to side with the one I cannot trust.
Elijah's journal entry: August, 1359. I have noticed a difference in my siblings. Our bond strains beneath the pressure of our life as vampires. Each day removes them further from the humanity we once possessed. My sweet sister, Rebekah, has grown quite indifferent to brutality. However, the true problem remains my brother, Niklaus. He continues to hide his loneliness with cruelty. Still, I cling to the hope that I, as their eldest brother, can lead them down the correct path; a path charged with the power of a family united. For if I fail, our family's legacy will end in darkness.
Klaus (to Hayley Marshall): Okay. Well, firstly, Marcel is not my mortal enemy—he's my friend, albeit one who is unaware that I'm trying to sabotage his hold over the supernatural community of the French Quarter, but a friend nonetheless. And secondly, I daggered Elijah in order to gain Marcel's trust. If I had known he would place my brother in the hands of a particularly nasty teenaged witch, I certainly would have weighed my options a bit differently. And thirdly, sister, please.
Rebekah: And thirdly, the plan, as you have demanded, is for Niklaus to simply ask Marcel for Elijah back.
Rebekah: Please, Klaus may be a miserable excuse for a sibling, but there is none more diabolical.
Klaus: Wake up, Rebekah. The witches are on no one's side but their own. This girl, Davina? That's all they want, and when they have her, what do you think happens then, a truce? Of course not. They will use Davina's power against all of us.
Rebekah: Even if you're right, the plan was to find Elijah, and you've failed us.
Klaus: You always did lack faith. By protecting Marcel, I've cemented his trust, so much so that he's agreed to return Elijah to us. And when the time is right, when he has told me everything I need to know about Davina, I will have her for myself.
Rebekah: I have all the faith in the world that you'll get what you want, Nik. You always do, no matter what is costs the rest of us. You disgust me.
Elijah'smonologue: There are moments when I doubt my family is capable of redemption. Yet each time that I am tempted to surrender, I see it - the glimmer of goodness that allows me to believe.
Rebekah: I guess it is. I only came to New Orleans to make sure you were safe. You are. I thought that I might be able to convince you to come with me, but here you are, rushing into whatever Klaus and Marcel and the witches have cooked up and I finally get it. You'll never leave this city. You'll never leave Klaus.
Klaus: Elijah and I had a bit of a row. Haha, Hayley's conspired to turn him against me. You know our brother was never one to resist a pretty face! So, one thing led to another, and I bit him, left them both stranded in the swamp.
Rebekah: Daggering, biting, deserting. Does your wickedness ever end?
Klaus: My "wickedness" is self-preservation! And I wouldn't have to go to such lengths were I not presented on all sides with ignorance and treachery! Now that Elijah's abandoned me, I'll be needing you in my plot against Marcel. Don't expect to be leaving town anytime soon.
Rebekah: Why should I help you after what you did to Elijah?
Klaus: You're my family. Besides, who better to spy on Marcel than the girl he so clearly loves? You can tell me all his secrets, like how did he find us here? Huh, any idea about that, little sister?
Rebekah (voiceover): My brothers and I are the first vampires in history - the Originals.
Klaus: Let me give a voice to that look in your eyes. My saintly, noble, brother lies writhing in agony in the bayou, victim of my bastard-brother's-bite, when just one or two drops of his blood would ease his pain.
Rebekah: On the contrary, Nik, I am simply enjoying my breaky waiting for Elijah's healthy return.
Klaus: Oh, come on Rebekah, you've been giving me the devil's eye all morning. Out with it!
Rebekah: Perhaps I'm concerned that if I voice my opinion about what you did to Elijah, I will end up on the wrong side of your toxic hybrid teeth.
Klaus: Poppycock! I would never bite you. Elijah made some very offensive accusations about my intentions towards my child. He deserves a day or two of discomfort. Besides, you know my preferred method of punishment for your indiscretions is the dagger.
Rebekah: There is something fundamentally wrong with you.
Rebekah: Elijah's home, there's only one dagger. Which one of us will you be punishing today?
Klaus: I contemplated a game of eenie-meenie-miney-moe. You betrayed me. My own sister!
Klaus: It has everything to do with her! She's adored you since she arrived. And now my child, my blood, will grow up to call you father!
Rebekah: Is that what it is? You are once again worried that you will be left behind. Has history taught you nothing? We don't abandon you, Nik, you drive us away!
Klaus: Is that so? What have I done lately, other than cooperate? I bow down to you, brother, to make up for daggering you. For the greater good of our plan to reclaim our home. Looked the other way, sister. While you repeat the same cycle with Marcel, falling again for a man you shouldn't be with, while he controls the empire that we built! That he took! Now, I make no excuses for past sins, but in the one moment when you two could have chosen to stand by me - to believe in me - to believe my intentions for my own child were pure, you chose to stand against me, to side with my enemies. I wanted our home back. Now I have it. So I'm going to live there, and the two of you...you can stay here together...and rot.
Rebekah: Because, despite Klaus' reprieve, Thierry despises him. I like that about Thierry. I also like that he used to date a witch, so he knows about French Quarter covens. Maybe he can lead me to whoever stole off with the Harvest magic.
Elijah: Rebekah, we are all devastated by the outcome of this ritual.
Rebekah: That's just it. There was no outcome. We both know that power like that doesn't just vanish. I say someone stole it. I'd like to know who, and then I'd like to make an ally out of them.
Rebekah: I'm tired of being threatened and controlled by our tyrant brother. If you want to stop a bully, you need the power to stand up to them.
Elijah: I expect such behavior from Niklaus. It's so very disappointing when it comes from you, Rebekah. Do you not see that, in his way, he's making an effort here? He's invited us back into our family home. He yearns for our family to be reunited.
Rebekah: Yes. He's in a brilliant mood now, but for how long? It's his trick, Elijah. He lulls you into a false sense of camaraderie and kinship, and then he turns on you like a snake. I fall for it every time and wind up with a dagger in my chest for my trouble. No more.
Elijah: I believe that he is approaching some semblance of peace here. Leadership may, in fact, be a good thing for him. Now, sister, please, I ask you, if you cannot support him, then at least do nothing to provoke him.
Elijah: I asked you to cease these petty moves against our family, and yet you conspire with this fool. Is this what its come to, making moves against your own blood?
Rebekah: Don't you try and shame me. Nik grows more powerful by the day, and you do nothing but encourage him.
Elijah: I offer him my counsel because it's clear to me that he means to make this city our home. Now, perhaps leading these derelicts will curb some of these impulses, grant him some degree of happiness.
Rebekah: You always talk of Nik's happiness, but for a thousand years he has robbed me of any chance at my own. What about me, Elijah? Am I not a concern for you?
Elijah: We all make sacrifices in the name of this family, Rebekah, but know this. I will never stand against you or Niklaus.
Rebekah: What about Hayley? Nothing I conspire to do, none of my treachery will harm this family as much as your feelings for her. You're a hypocrite, Elijah. You would choose love over family and then condemn me for doing the same.
Mikael: I am not choosing sides, but I will not allow you to hurt our sister.
Klaus: We cannot leave this cemetery, Elijah. How long do you think you can defend her
Mikael: As long as it takes...by whatever means necessary.
Mikael: You've been at this for hours. To what end? Niklaus, I know you, and I grew up fighting you. I can't be beaten, nor can I be persuaded. You cannot get past me.
Klaus: I could get past you. Although, it might have to be over your dead body. You did stab me with that blade, forcing me to endure hours of unspeakable pain. Perhaps I should direct my rage toward you.
Mikael: You should see yourself-- the murderous expression, the self-righteous posturing. You look like father.
Klaus: I'm not him. Rebekah's betrayal justifies my anger. His was that of a madman. You were never the recipient of his cruelty. None of you were-- not Kol, not Finn, None of you! I think you've forgotten what he was truly like.
Rebekah to Klaus: Whatever I have done wrong, my guilt is nothing compared to yours. You want revenge? Fine. But, before you have it, I will look you in the eye and tell you why it was your cruelty and your spite that led us to this.
Klaus: Go on, then. Speak your piece, and when you are finished, I will grant you the punishment you deserve, even if I have to go through Elijah to do so.
Mikael to Klaus: You say you despise Rebekah for her betrayal, and yet no one has stood by your side for so long, not even I myself. Perhaps it's you that's forgotten. I remember the day that father caught you whittling little chess pieces with his hunting knife. He beat you so mercilessly and for so long, I actually feared for your life.
Klaus to Mikael: So, you would paint her as a loyal sister, but she betrayed me out of lust for Marcel. Perhaps that was why you did it-- for love. Perhaps I might temper my rage if Rebekah will admit she was a victim of her own idiocy, that her great love, Marcel, used her to oust this family and to take my city.
Klaus: Why must you defend her? Rebekah betrayed you, as well, when she brought Mikael here.
Mikael: Because she is our sister, and because I like to remember her the way that she was before we became what we became. She was an innocent girl, quick to laugh, full of life.
Klaus: My memories serve to make her betrayal more painful.
Mikael: Can you not then accept some small part of the blame? After all, Niklaus, it was your cruelty that led her to do what she did.
Klaus: Do you not see, Elijah? She didn't mean to chase me off. She wanted me dead.
Klaus: She has always hated me. You know that's true.
Mikael: You have no idea, do you? You have no idea what she was prepared to do for you. When our sister sees something that she perceives to be an injustice, she can be stubborn, impetuous, and, at times, downright dangerous, and never was this more apparent than the night she tried to kill our father.
Mikael: Niklaus, sometimes our sister acts without thinking. She's short of temper, she's quick to fall in love, but she loves you. But, your malicious treatment has broken her heart. So, yes, she responded by summoning our father. Yes, that was a mistake. I'm not entirely sure that I can blame her.
Klaus: I know this—you accuse me of being evil and yet you are the one who conspired to kill your own blood.
Rebekah: You made our lives a living hell. You tormented us.
Klaus: I loved my family! You. Elijah. I loved all of you. I know I can be difficult, but I did not make myself this way. It was Mikael who ruined me.
Rebekah: He ruined me too. That's what you forget. Centuries later each of us is broken; you with your anger and paranoia me, me with my fear of abandonment, and poor Elijah...he dedicates himself to everyone but himself. We are the strongest creatures in the world, and yet we are damaged beyond repair. We live without hope, but we will never die. We are the definition of cursed. Always and forever.
Rebekah: When I brought Mikael, I never for a second meant to hurt you.
