I'd be giving up everything I've ever known for a memory of something I once was. Power for weakness. Strength for frailty. Eternal life for a brief human existence. (...) Well, then. To the end of an era. I'm in.
Throughout her long life, Rebekah's actions and personality have been heavily influenced by her relationship with Klaus and her desire to live a normal, human life. She has also been romantically involved with a few character from the series. In the 12th century she was in love with a vampire hunter named Alexander who was a member of The Brotherhood of the Five. In late 19th and early 20th century she was in a relationship with Klaus' protégé Marcel Gerard, while living in New Orleans. After she fled New Orleans with Klaus, to escape her father Mikael, she was briefly in a relationship with Stefan Salvatore in 1920s Chicago, and because she chose Stefan over her half-brother, Klaus daggered her for 90 years. Later on, she finds herself in a romantic relationship with a human, Matt Donovan, before returning to New Orleans and rekindling her relationship with Marcel.
Rebekah is the second daughter of Mikael and Esther, wealthy land owners from Eastern Europe in the 10th century. She is the sixth of seven children: Finn, Elijah, Niklaus, Kol, Henrik and Freya who died while the couple still lived in the Old World. They then move to the New World.
In Farewell to Storyville, a flashback of a young Rebekah is shown with all her siblings, happily playing in the woods. Niklaus once stayed awake with her during a stormy night and gave her a wooden carved knight, as she was scared. He comforts her and stays beside her stating that he will always protect her.
Niklaus was once beaten half to death by Mikael, unaware of the fact that it was Rebekah who had taken his blade. She told him the truth weeks later to her brother because she could never confess it to their father.
In her teenage years, Rebekah once threatened Mikael with a sword, when he wouldn't stop beating Niklaus with a "whip". She even tried to kill her father in his sleep for mistreating Niklaus, and would have done it had Elijah not stopped her. Rebekah, like the rest of her siblings, seemed equally afraid of Mikael, though she never was a victim of his abuse.
While living in the New World, they lived in peace with the werewolves. However, during a full moon, when the wolves were transforming, Niklaus and Henrik left to watch the villagers transforming from men to beasts. As the sun began to rise, Rebekah saw Niklaus carrying Henrik's lifeless body back into the village. He stated that one of the wolves had mauled Henrik to death.
Not wanting to lose another child, their mother Esther decided to cast a spell (The Immortality Spell), calling upon the sun for life and the White Oak Tree for immortality. However, the spell lead to some untimely acts. Unbeknownst to Rebekah and her siblings, they drank wine laced with the blood of Tatia for dinner and afterwards, Mikael drove his sword through their hearts. After their awakening, Mikael forced his children to feed on a local villager, completing their transition into vampires.
Later, they began to realize that their new gift had its weaknesses. The flowers that grew at the base of the White Oak Tree, vervain, burned them and prevented compulsion. The sun burned their skin, making it impossible to walk in the daylight for them. They were unable to enter the homes of their neighbors without an invitation. Also their thirst was uncontrollable.
Realizing that wood carved from the White Oak Tree would be fatal to them, they burned the tree to the ground. After their mother's death, Rebekah, Niklaus and Elijah swore to each other that they would never turn on each other and stick together as one, always and forever.
Rebekah was residing in Italy with her brothers Klaus and Elijah when they met a vampire hunter named Alexander, a member of a group called The Five. Rebekah soon fell in love with him and this allowed Klaus and Elijah to get closer to him and question him about The Five. During this time, Alexander and Rebekah planned to get married. They even picked out a church and he shared a lot of information with her about his plans for hunting vampires. However, unbeknownst to her, Alexander had found out she was a vampire and while she and all of her siblings were his guests, overnight The Five daggered them all with white oak ash daggers. Klaus, unaffected by the dagger thanks to his werewolf lineage, undaggered her after killing Alexander and the rest of The Five. Klaus then viciously interrogated her until she revealed that Alexander's supposed ultimate weapon was a "cure." Despite everything that had happened, she buried Alexander with his sword at the church where they had planned to marry.
According to Elijah, Rebekah had lost much of her humanity, becoming quite indifferent to brutality.
Rebekah was in England along with Elijah and Klaus. She met Katerina Petrova, the next Petrova Doppelgänger after Tatia , who was going to be sacrificed soon to activate Klaus' werewolf side. However, after Katerina's escape, which subsequently destroyed Klaus and Elijah's bond, Rebekah has held a grudge against her ever since.
Cadiz, Spain, 1702
In 1702, Kol's antics in Spain drew too much attention and brought Mikael, straight to the family, destroying the country upon his arrival. As Klaus and Elijah searched for Kol, Rebekah boarded a ship bound to leave Europe along with a daggered Finn.
New Orleans, 18th Century-Early 20th Century
Having fled the Old World (Spain Probably) from Mikael, Rebekah, along with Klaus and Elijah, sailed across the world, through the Mississippi River and arrived in New Orleans, 300 years from the present. Upon arriving off the coast of New Orleans, they slaughtered all the men who boarded their ship, but left one alive to question and carry their luggage.
Another flashback of Rebekah from 18th century is shown in The Casket Girls, where she protects the girls who arrived to New Orleans in hope to marry fine husband, but would have ended up with men not so noble at all. She saves them by killing the men waiting for them and takes the girls under her protection.
In 1820, Rebekah, Niklaus andElijah were living in New Orleans and paying gold to the governor for the existence of vampire's to be kept a secret. Rebekah fell in love with the Governor's son Emil and wanted to turn him into a vampire, however whilst asking for her brother's permission, Klaus snorted and told her if she wanted to turn every human she fell in love with, humans would cease to exist before proceeding to kill him, claiming nobody was good enough for her. Some days later, the three Originals were attending Emil's funeral when they noticed a boy throwing an apple at the man whipping him. As Klaus began to talk to the boy, even naming him Marcellus, Elijah whispered to Rebekah "Perhaps there is hope for our brother after all." Marcel was soon taken into the family, quickly developing a crush for Rebekah at an early age because of all the time they spent fencing with each other (though he would not win).
By 1835, Marcel was finally an adult, actually could best her in a duel he attempted to make his move on her only to be stopped by Klaus. Despite pleading with Klaus to let him be with Rebekah, Klaus still shot him down and forbid him from pursuing her. However this did not stop Marcel from trying again and making out with Rebekah. They were abruptly torn apart physically by Klaus who decided to punish them by daggering Rebekah.
In 1887, Klaus undaggered Rebekah revealing he had left her daggered for 52 years. When she had asked to see Marcel, Klaus sadistically revealed that he gave Marcel an ultimatum. Either live a long human life with Rebekah and die or become a vampire, but stay away from Rebekah. He chose the latter, even walking into the room as proof, devastating Rebekah. Elijah helped Rebekah reintegrate herself into New Orleans ' society.
Elijah Niklaus, Kol and Rebekah all lived in New Orleans. In 1914 ,Rebekah celebrated christmas along with her brothers. She is seen entering Nik's room, where she finds Kol, looking for something despertely. He tells her his plans for Klaus. Rebekah is stunned at first, but pretends to agree with him. Later, she approaches a witch, telling her that she deserves better than to date Kol. Klaus gathers everyone and makes a toast to Rebekah. Later, Kol is daggered, while Rebekah watches, broadly smiling. Which leads us to assume that Rebekah indeed betrayed him to Klaus.
In 1919, Rebekah worked as nurse in New Orleans sanatorium during the period of influenza.Marcel soon returned from World War I. At first they were distant, but eventually grew closer. Together, they desperately started to search for freedom, to do as they wished without Klaus constantly controlling them. Rebekah befriended Genevieve, a fellow nurse and found out that she was a witch. Soon, they became friends. She asked Genevieve to summon her father, Mikael to New Orleans. Eventually, Klaus accepted and supported her relationship with Marcel, which made the pair very happy. When Genevieve learned that Rebekah used her, she wanted to reveal her secret to Klaus. However, Rebekah quickly infected her and her friend Clara Summerlin with influenza, leaving them to die, so she and Marcel would be protected from Klaus' wrath.
Elijah mentioned that he and his siblings had many fun times in New Orleans and didn't want to leave, however in the year 1919 after Mikael arrived, leaving countless bodies in his wake, they had no choice but to flee and were driven away. However, Elijah broke apart from Klaus and Rebekah to stall Mikael so his siblings could get away.
Moving from town to town and wreaking havoc, Rebekah and Klaus found themselves in Chicago during the roaring 20s. After her introduction to Stefan Salvatore, Rebekah immediately fell in love with him. Not long after, Mikael arrived in the city searching for Klaus with the intention to kill him.
Mikael and the police fired wooden bullets into the building. Rebekah, Stefan and Klaus ducked to avoid the bullets and in the commotion, Rebekah lost her mother's necklace. Klaus met up with Stefan and compelled him to forget ever meeting him and Rebekah.
Later, Rebekah and Klaus are shown to be packing and moving elsewhere. Klaus tells Rebekah to hurry up, but she says that she is not going anywhere without Stefan. Klaus tells her to let Stefan go, but Rebekah refuses, intent on staying with him. Klaus forces her to choose between him and Stefan, and as she opted for the latter, he neutralizes her with the White Oak Ash Dagger. This is the only weapon that can be used to neutralize an Original Vampire like Klaus and herself.
Rebekah remained neutralized for 90 years and was stored in a coffin which was carried around with Klaus wherever he went. The coffins also contained her other brothers, Finn and Kol.
Throughout The Vampire Diaries Series
After Gloria revealed to Klaus that Rebekah had what she needed to contact The Original Witch, Klaus reluctantly resurrected his sister. While she is resurrecting, Klaus compelled a guard to let her feed from the guard and also told the guard to tell her where to meet Stefan and Klaus. After rising from the dead, Rebekah is delighted to see Stefan again, but is furious after she is unable to find her necklace. She was appalled by modern music and fashion. Gloria uses Rebekah to find the amulet and after doing so, threatens to kill the girl with her necklace and her friends.
As Stefan is about to open Elijah's coffin, Rebekah walks in. He tells her he remembers they were running from someone and inquires about it. Rebekah tells Stefan that she can't talk about it, and instead pulls Stefan into a long kiss. Rebekah then asks afterwards if he'll love another girl the same way he loved Elena. Stefan says he hopes to and tries to kiss Rebekah again, but she stops him, saying his kiss gave him away. Klaus appears, and Rebekah reports that Stefan is not on their side, as he's asking about Mikael. Once they're back in Mystic Falls, Rebekah informs Stefan that Klaus knows that the doppelgänger is still alive, when she is meant to be dead, and that he won't be merciful. Stefan attacks her, but being an original vampire, Rebekah overpowers him and "out of jealousy" stabs him. She later meets Caroline and Tyler at Mystic Falls High School, knocks out Caroline and takes Tyler to Klaus.
After Klaus feeds Tyler his blood and kills him, Rebekah drags Tyler back to Caroline and stays to watch over them. As Rebekah sat there bored as ever, she goes through Caroline's phone, only to find a picture of Stefan and Elena together, and spots her mother necklace around Elena's neck. Rebekah is furious and storms into the gym to inform her brother about the necklace's whereabouts. She threatens Elena and asks about the necklace's location, but Elena explains that she doesn't have it anymore because Katherine had stolen it from her. After Klaus figured out how to successfully create hybrids, and having Elena "donate" blood, he and Rebekah are at the hospital's parking lot.
She questions how he knew that he needed the doppelgänger alive, and he reveals to her, "You know the original witch hated me. Do you honestly think I would do anything other than the opposite of what she says?" He further explains, "The doppelgänger needed to die in order for me to become a hybrid. But if she was dead...". Rebekah chimes in, "Then you couldn't use her blood to sire yourself a new species". And he adds, "Leaving me alone for all time."
Rebekah is disappointed in his reasoning behind the creation of his own species, just so he would never be alone. Klaus changes the subject, sending her away to fetch the truck. While she's gone, Damon comes to inform Klaus that Mikael is on his way to Mystic Falls to finish him off, causing the hybrid to run off, leaving Rebekah behind.
The same night, she attends the traditional bonfire, where Damon Salvatore tries to distract her (so Alaric and Elena can get Stefan off the track) with his charms and marshmallows, but Rebekah sees through him, and stabs him. She later shows up at Tyler's house with a girl, teasingly biting her, and tells him that Klaus would want his hybrid to get the full vampire experience; at the mention of her brother, Tyler needs no more convincing, and begins to feed on the girl.
When Rebekah is at school and doing a flip for the cheerleading squad, sees Elena and ask what she wants. She replies she knows about her history from the carvings on the wall. After Elena walks off there is a flashback of Rebekah putting her name on the wall and Klaus watches, he asks for the knife Rebekah slams the sharp end down in his hand thereby hurting. Then Elena gets a text from Rebekah to come over and talk to her, she asks Elena what dress she should wear for the homecoming. Elena ignores and just intends to find out about her history. So Rebekah grabs a girl and as shes about to bite her, Elena tells her to choose the red satin dress. Then Rebekah and Elena go up stairs and Rebekah looks through Stefan's stuff. Then Rebekah tells Elena about who had the necklace and it is revealed that the original witch was her mother Esther. By the end of the episode, Rebekah finds out that Klaus was the one who killed Esther not Mikael and she bursts into tears and accepts that her brother she loved could do something like this.
After she help's getting Klaus back into town and confronting her father, Elena helps Rebekah prepare for the homecoming dance. Elena gives Rebekah her mother's necklace and while Rebekah's off guard, stabs her with the white oak ash dagger, neutralizing her.
When Klaus almost has Jeremy and Alaric killed,Elena makes a deal with Klaus to ensure Jeremy's safety. Elena returns Rebekah to Klaus in exchange for Klaus sparing Jeremy's life. Klaus accepts these terms and undaggers Rebekah. Prior to his departure, Elena informs Klaus that Rebekah learned the truth about Esther's murder. When he returns to his house, when Rebekah is about to awaken, he apologizes for his actions and tells Rebekah that they will meet again another day. He then stakes her with White Oak Ash Dagger.
Elijah un-daggers Rebekah, who then stabs Klaus with one of the daggers. They plan on leaving Klaus alone, when she is surprised to see their mother arrive.
After promising that she will kill the Doppelgänger, Rebekah goes after Elena in Dangerous Liaisons. Rebekah reproaches to Elena that she daggered her and wants to bite her. Elijah shows up and stops Rebekah before she could have killed Elena. Arriving home, Rebekah is threatened by Klaus because of her intention. Kol protects Rebekah from Klaus. Leaving the Mikaelson's Mansion, Rebekah goes to grill where she meets Elena and Caroline. She goes there to invite Matt at the ball.
When the party starts, Rebekah plans out with Kol to murder Matt to make Elena suffer. Because she feels something for him, Rebekah changes her mind and tells Kol she won't hurt innocent people. After Esther's speech, Rebekah drinks the champagne laced with Elena's blood and so, she becomes linked with her siblings. Kol didn't give up on killing Matt, so he wanted to make it without Rebekah. The boy is saved by Damon who hurts Kol. This event is seen by all members of the Original Family including Rebekah. Rebekah then meets Damon and hooks up with him after being upset that she disappointed Matt.
The next morning (All My Children), we see Rebekah waking up next to Damon in his bed. When she was about to leave, she and Damon meet Elena at the door of the Salvatore house. She greets her with a sarcastic smile. Arriving home, she is teased by Klaus and Kol ,(her brother), who calls her a strumpet. When her brothers leave for Mystic grill on search for some fun, she throws a shoe at them for their remarks. When they are gone, we see her having a chat with Elijah, who is worried about their mothers behavior.
When Elijah decides to take over control above the acts, he teams up with Rebekah, after thinking out the following plan: Elijah kidnaps Elena and takes her to the caves which run beneath the whole Mystic falls area. Rebekah is sent to the cave to watch over Elena. She is kept there as a hostage, to build up pressure on the Salvatore brothers. When Alaric daggers Kol in the grill, all originals die except Klaus, because of their active link. This includes Rebekah. Elena uses that time gap to get some advantage, so she runs away. When Klaus rushes over to Kol to un-dagger him, Rebekah gets back to life, too. By the time, Elena found the small chamber in the cave which vampires can't enter.
Getting creative, Rebekah returns with a tank of gasoline. She streams the gas on Elena, and in the cave, than lights it up with matches, offering Elena a choice, either come outside, or stay in there and burn. The girls then have a chat, which results in Rebekah sparing Elena's life. After Damon turned Abby into a vampire and thus preventing Esther from killing her children, Rebekah releases Elena. Arriving home in the evening, she meets Elijah, who is about to leave.
Klaus is seen burning his drawings of Caroline. Rebekah admits him, that she considered Klaus as her only family over the years. Than she shows him the recordings she took with her phone about the carvings in the cave, which tell the story of the great white oak tree, which the originals burned down, but was later replaced with a new one. They realize that it might be a danger to them, so they can be killed.
Rebekah tries to figure out where the White Oak Tree could be.Therefore she interviews the mayor, Carol Lockwood about the old trees in the area. She finds out that some of them were used in order to build the town. In Mystic Falls grill she joins Stefan and Damon in their conversations about the killings in 1912. She also tells them about how she knows Sage. She assist Damon in helping Stefan feed on a human.
At the Wickery Bridge Foundation, Rebekah meets with Sage and Damon there. Sage suggests to Damon that they could discover what Rebekah was planning if he seduced her. Damon complies with Sage and attempts to coerce Rebekah into lowering her guard so Sage can get into her mind and see her thoughts. Damon and Rebekah sleep together and while Rebekah is sleeping Sage enters her mind to discover that Rebekah is searching for the remnant of the White Oak Tree. Sage also manages to get into Damon's head and discovers that Damon had been planning to kill all the Originals including her true love Finn, so she betrays Damon and warns Rebekah about Damon's plans to kill her and her family. Rebekah then strips the White Oak Wood from the Wickery Bridge and destroys it.
After getting Finn back in town, Rebekah seeks revenge against Damon who she truly believed had liked her and she breaks into his home. Rebekah easily knocks Alaric out and attacks Damon. She then kidnaps Damon and takes him to Klaus' Family Mansion so she can torture him and drain the vervain out of his system so that he could be compelled.
Shortly after organizing the 20s decade dance, Matt distracts her so she can not know Tyler returned. She then begins to like having a guy around, but her happiness is short lived as Esther comes back to town. They talk and after a brief discussion Esther seemingly falls down and appears to be dead. In the end of the episode, it is revealed that Esther possessed Rebekah's body in order to kill the Originals.
The next day, Rebekah/Esther gives Klaus "the last White Oak Stake" and he burns it without hesitation. Rebekah/Esther goes to Alaric's apartment where all the coffins are there Esther has Rebekah neutralized so she can return to her normal body, This is the second time Rebekah was neutralized and missed a high school dance. Near the end of the episode Klaus un-daggers Rebekah.
After missing the dance,Rebekah calls Caroline to help with cleaning up after the dance even though she didn't get to attend. Caroline tells her that she is sorry about Esther. Later, she is attacked by Alaric and he tries to kill her, but fails after she goes out into sunlight. She then warns Klaus about Alaric and tells him she is leaving and he should leave with her, to which, Klaus refuses.
Later that night, Rebekah appears at the storage warehouse to find Damon, who has apparently called her there. Once she arrives, Damon tells her to be quiet and to help him move Klaus' body. Alaric then comes in and fights Rebekah, tosses her aside, and stakes Klaus. Rebekah then screams in horror as Damon holds her back, and tells her to run. Later, Rebekah meets up with Elijah and tells him Klaus is dead. They console each other for their loss. Rebekah is then informed by Elijah that Tyler Lockwood died, but the other vampires sired by Klaus somehow survived. Both siblings assure each other that they, as well as Kol, were not responsible for siring Stefan and Damon's bloodline. Both ponder how they can still be alive. Following this revelation.
She calls Stefan and congratulates him for still being alive. She informs Stefan that Elijah spoke to Elena, and that she and Matt would be returning to town soon.
On the phone, Stefan is puzzled as to why she still in town, since Elijah told him they would be leaving immediately. Rebekah explains that Elijah wants to run, since Alaric is after them. However, she informs Stefan that she is tired of running, as she and Klaus spent most of their lives running away from Mikael. She tells Stefan that Klaus is dead, and if she and her brothers are to survive, Alaric must die. Rebekah reveals to Stefan that she knows Alaric's one weakness: Elena. Stefan tells Rebekah that they had a deal, but Rebekah tells him it is over, due to Klaus's death as she blames Elena for it. Rebekah stands still on the bridge, catching Elena and Matt off guard. Matt swerves the car to avoid hitting Rebekah and drives over the bridge, crashing into the water below.
The next morning, Rebekah is still devastated by her brother's death. Damon comes and attacks her with the White Oak Stake, but wooden bullets shoot through the window, neutralizing her. Rebekah wakes in a van with Caroline that is heading towards Pastor's house. Until Klaus (still in Tyler's body) knocks the van over. Klaus saves Caroline, but not Rebekah, telling her to "Keep them busy, little sister." Rebekah is taken to Pastor's farm where she's caged with Elena and Stefan and is left to breath in vervain.
After she helps Elena feed, she is set free. Once she returns home her brother is back in his body. Rebekah tells him how she's always been there, when Finn, Kol, and Elijah weren't. She never stopped loving him through everything. She now realizes he truly doesn't love her so she destroys the last of Elena's human blood. Klaus then disowns her as his sister and snaps her neck.
She moved out of Klaus's mansion and moving in her own house, Rebekah decides to throw a party that will have people ditch school around fifth period. She hands out flyers and goes into History class, Alaric's old classroom. As she hands out flyers, she and Elena have a small confrontation where it leads to Elena throwing a pencil at Rebekah's head, whereas Rebekah catches it and throws it back going into Elena's shoulder. Rebekah bites Heather and sends her into the bathroom where she starts to push Elena by rubbing Heather's blood on her face.
Later Rebekah asks Matt to come to her party, he doesn't talk to her, Rebekah apologizes to Matt for what happened at the bridge and that she never wanted to hurt him. After Matt still doesn't say anything Rebekah prepares for her party. At her new house, Elena asks her if she blew up Pastor's farm. She's upset Elena would ask her that since she didn't care at all about the farm house. Rebekah takes Elena's ring and throws it into the garbage disposal.
After Elena gets her ring back she grabs the white oak stake in her bag, prepared to kill Rebekah. Rebekah see's Elena and Stefan leave, not before Elena drinks her beer from the keg in from of her. Rebekah starts to get sick, seeing veins appear on her face. Later that night Rebekah hallucinates Matt telling her she'll never be loved, and Rebekah kills him. After the party ends, Rebekah and April officially meet, seeing that they have a lot in common Rebekah offers to help April discover what really happened at the farm.
After making friends with April,Rebekah tries to get Matt to like her and buys him a new truck, but he refuse to take it and Klaus says she's is trying too hard and tells her that the brotherhood of the Five still exist and wants her to come and help him, but she tells him she doesn't care about the Five, this caused Klaus to leave. Rebekah was later with April at the Grill there Stefan came to her table and compelled April to forget everything they said. He tells Rebekah that Klaus wants him to make peace with her so she will talk about the Five and is willing to start over with her and talk with Matt about doing the same. She then came with Stefan to the Mikaelson Mansion and ate dinner with Stefan and Klaus, while eating Klaus told Stefan of Alexander, their encounter with the Five and that they had a weapon that could only be found with the Five's tattoo and sword.
When Klaus told her to tell Stefan what the weapon was and she revealed it was a cure for vampirism. When Rebekah asked what they were going to next Klaus said they were not going to do anything with her cause she can't be trusted. She the figured out that Klaus wants the cure for Elena so he can make hybrids again, she then ran off. She later came to the Salvatore Boarding House after getting a message from him and told Stefan she wanted the cure back then and asked if he would take the cure if he had the chance or if it just where for Elena.
He answered her that Elena will kill and when she does that she will turn off her emotions. Rebekah then said she can't let her brother get what he wants and when she was about to leave Stefan answered he would take the cure if it meant that he would be able to have children, grow old, die and be buried with Elena, Rebekah then told him that she buried Alexander there they where going to get married and she buried the sword along with him. She then figured out that was the only thing he wanted to know was where the sword is. Klaus tells Rebekah that "she is love sick fool" when confronting her. She gets angry at Klaus and tells him that she would have prefer to live her life than his because no one would want to be sitting around the dinner table sharing stories with someone that can't love. Then Klaus came in the room with a white oak dagger and told her she is right, Rebekah tried to run out but is stopped by Stefan. She then becomes angry and dares Klaus to dagger her and then he stabs her with the dagger neutralizing her. Klaus told Stefan to put her somewhere no one can find her.
In O Come, All Ye Faithful, it's revealed that Stefan hid Rebekah's daggered body in a coffin in a tunnel. They intend to do a spell to put Klaus into Rebekah's daggered body so Klaus can be temporarily killed. So Stefan brings Rebekah coffin to the Lockwood Cellar to let them to do the spell, but the plan was fake. Hayley's plan all along was to get all of the hybrids killed leaving Rebekah's coffin in the Lockwood Cellar. April went to the cellar after she overheard Caroline's conversation with Stefan. She opened the coffin and found Rebekah's daggered body.
In After School Special, it is revealed that April removed the dagger from Rebekah. Elena believes she is seeing things when she sees Rebekah at Carol Lockwood's Memorial. Elena finds a crying April in the hallway, who distracts Elena by telling her she knows she's a vampire while Rebekah sneaks up and snaps Elena's neck. "Was that necessary?" April asks. "No, but it was fun," Rebekah answers, smiling. Rebekah calls Stefan and tells him she is holding Elena hostage at the high school. Stefan phones Caroline for help. The plan was for Stefan to distract Rebekah while Caroline uses the white oak stake on her, but Rebekah disarms Caroline by the time Stefan finds her. Rebekah escorts him to the library, where Caroline and Elena are already waiting. They have all been compelled. The rules: they answer her questions honestly, no disobedience, and no one leaves.
Rebekah needed a quick update on what she's missed. She couldn't understand why, if Stefan would do anything to save Elena, even take the cure himself so he could grow old and die with her, they were still vampires. Rebekah sensed that the reminder of Stefan's devotion to Elena made everyone comfortable, and Caroline finally blurted out that they'd broken up. This situation had to be perpetual teen Rebekah's dream. She demanded to know what had happened. "She slept with Damon," Stefan said. Elena glared at Caroline. Caroline could barely look at her.
It was Elena's turn to fire a shot at Stefan's heart when Rebekah asked her if she thought she'd slept with Damon because of the sire bond. "I didn't sleep with Damon because of the sire bond, I slept with Damon because I'm in love with him," Elena said. Mercifully, Caroline steered Rebekah back onto the subject of the cure. Stefan told Rebekah that Professor Shane knew where to find it. Rebekah phoned Tyler to summon him using Caroline as bait. "Maybe you have a better shot at saving her than you did your mother. Bye now," she said.
Kol told Rebekah she's just as worse as Klaus when he brought Shane. Rebekah and Kol trying to compel Shane to tell them where the cure was. Only he can't be compelled -- something he picked up in Tibet. So Rebekah ordered Kol to beat it out of him the old-fashioned way. Rebekah went back into the library and wanted to play a game of Truth or Dare. Elena chose dare, but Rebekah cheated: "I dare you to tell Stefan the truth about Damon." Elena said when she's with Damon, it feels unpredictable, like she's free. And when she's with Stefan? She feels like a project, a problem that needs to be fixed. "I think I make him sad, and I can't be with someone like that, because when he looks at me, all he sees is a broken toy," Elena said. She's not wrong. After Elena admitted she doesn't love Stefan anymore, Rebekah asked Stefan, "Did that hurt?" and he said "Yes." She replied back, "Welcome to the last 900 years of my life."
Tyler arrived, and Rebekah told them all to stay in the building and not vamp run in the hallway. Why? She compelled Tyler to turn into a werewolf. Now that she had Shane, she didn't need them. They were just competition, and whoever finds the cure first gets to decide how to use it. Rebekah couldn't understand why Shane even wanted the cure since he's human. And he said he doesn't. He just wants Silas, the first Immortal, who's imprisoned with it. Now this got interesting: Kol said "Silas will kill us all," and Rebekah said he's not real, he's just a fairy tale. Shane insisted he's real, that he knows where he's buried, and that soon he'll have the spell that wakes him. Apparently you need his tombstone and dozens to die in a blood sacrifice. Shane's done it before. He's the one who got the Council blown up. Shane said those deaths were noble -- and temporary. "Because once I raise Silas, Silas will raise the dead. He will bring back every last soul who died on his behalf." And then, Kol impaled him. While Stefan and Elena worked together to protect themselves from werewolf Tyler, Kol and Rebekah fought. He said Silas would be "hell on earth," so Rebekah should thank him. But she wasn't in a forgiving mood, thinking Shane was dead along with her advantage in the race to the cure. It's probably worth remembering that Kol now has possession of the white oak stake.
Rebekah needed some cheering up so she found Stefan and Elena. "Why are my least favorite people always the most durable?" she asked. She couldn't believe that Stefan was still protecting Elena. Was she going to have to rip out his heart and show him the scar tissue? She said there was a solution: She could compel him to forget Elena -- erase every memory, kiss, lie, ounce of pain, bit of love. He wouldn't know Elena or the misery. "Do it," Stefan said. "Erase it all, every memory." Elena protested, but there was no need. Rebekah had no intention of making it that easy on Stefan. "I refuse to make you forget her the way Klaus made you forget me," she said. And to Elena: "But at least you know how he really feels." She told them Stefan's eternity of pain was her revenge, and they were free to go.
In Catch Me If You Can, the morning after Stefan and Rebekah team up, she is sitting on his bed reading his diary, when he walks in. She said that she was reading it too see if he had second thoughts about teaming up and tells him that the plan is to steal Silas' headstone from Shane, so Shane would help them out.
Later, Stefan and Rebekah go to Shane's office to look for the headstone. Rebekah tells a tense Stefan to "Don't ripper out on me, we'll find it" and also said he needed a release. She suggested they burn through some of Shane's herbs, and when he declines, she said he wasn’t as fun as he was in the 1922. He admits they had a little bit of fun back then. After looking for the headstone for a while, Rebekah asks Stefan if he knows why she had refused to compel him to forget Elena. She tells him that it wasn't to punish him, but to teach him that it took "a thousand years and hundreds of betrayals" of love and caring to ruin her. Also, she tells him, that they didn't care in the 1922, they did what felt good. It was liberating -- the drinking, the feeding, the sex. Stefan responds with "The sex wasn’t good because we didn’t care. It was good because you’re crazy. Crazy sex is always good," they are about to kiss, when some guy walks into Shane's office, and Stefan and Rebekah hide.
The guy starts looking around the office and eventually find Silas' headstone. Rebekah and Stefan then come out of hiding and start to torture the guy to find out he is, because he has vervain in his system. Eventually, the guy bites off his tongue and stabs himself in the throat with a knife. Stefan and Rebekah determine that someone must have compelled him, and then put vervain in his system. Rebekah then asks if Stefan thinks it was Klaus or Damon, but Stefan thinks it was someone else.
Later, Stefan's phone starts to ring, and Rebekah picks it up, and it's Elena. Elena tells Rebekah that she needs to talk to Stefan, because Damon had been compelled by Kol to kill Jeremy, but Stefan doesn't say anything.
Eventually, Rebekah goes to Klaus' house, and finds Kol there. She is about to dagger him, but he distracts her by saying that Elijah would be disgusted by their bickering. While Rebekah is distracted, Kol flips Rebekah around and is about to kill her with the White Oak Stake, but Klaus stops him and saves her.
Stefan comes over to Rebekah's house, later. They talk for for a while, and Stefan then pushes Rebekah on her bed, and they have sex.
In A View To A Kill she and Stefan spent an entire day together, because he was distracting her so Matt could steal the dagger, to neutralize her, but at the end, they find out they much more in common that what they think. She decides, that, even though Stefan and his friends killed her brother Kol, they were going to continue their partnership.
In Into the Wild, Rebekah gives Elena the evil eye and the two waste no time almost killing each other. While hiking, Rebekah recapped what everyone brings to the table including Elena (nothing) and Damon (“nice behind”). When night fell, the gang makes camp for the night. Rebekah and Stefan were sitting by the fire lamenting the lack of smores when they hear a noise. She jumped and crushed his arm when she grabbed him. He reminded her that she’s an Original vampire and she revealed again how much she wants to be human because being a vampire is miserable. Stefan said if he takes the cure, it’ll be for him, not Elena.
In the morning, the group had to split up: Bonnie wanted to stay behind and try a locator spell and Shane wanted to stay. Rebekah and Elena continued bickering as they walked with Stefan, and the only thing that shut them up was when Elena tripped a wire and almost got herself staked. Rebekah stopped the wood before it got to Elena. Point for Rebekah. Elena genuinely thanked her, but Rebekah wouldn’t play nice: She said she didn’t care if Elena died, but if it was going to happen, it should be epic.
Elsewhere in the woods, Stefan saved Rebekah from the pain of a spear and had her safely pinned against a tree with his hands on her waist. He wanted to know whether she was serious about a cease-fire. Rebekah asked why they all assume that she hates Elena so much. Because she ran her off a bridge. Yes, but that's because that was the only way to save her family. Elena’s helped kill two of Rebekah’s brothers to save the people she cares about. That’s what they all do. Maybe she and Elena aren’t as different as people think they are. They headed back to camp, where Elena now couldn’t find Bonnie or Shane. Shane’s things were gone. And so was the headstone. Rebekah freaked out thinking Elena and/or Stefan had taken the headstone or was working with Shane. That makes no sense, which they were able to convince her of. Was Stefan saying every moment of his last 146 years was ruled by the pain of being a vampire suggesting that maybe HE won’t love HER when he’s human, or just meant to show her that he wants to be human whether or not she loves him? Elena offered Rebekah the white oak stake as a peace-offering. Rebekah said there was no peace, they’re all screwed. That's why Elena said the three of them have to work together now. Rebekah accepted it.
In Down the Rabbit Hole, whilst still on the island, Rebekah, Stefan and Elena realise that without the headstone the only hope to finding the cure is with the Hunter's sword in Klaus' possession. Rebekah says Klaus wouldn't give up the sword as he was terrified the cure would be used against him, however Caroline says she would find the sword as Klaus is still trapped in the Gilbert living room.
Later on, Caroline calls and reveals she has the translation of the tattoo, Rebekah is surprised to learn that Klaus helped and ever moreso that he wishes her to find happiness in being able to live and die as she wishes. Klaus manages to tell her that there is only one dose of the cure before the phone is cut off, and keeps this information to herself for the time being.
Stefan, Rebekah and Elena are walking towards the edge of a cliff and once Elena has jumped down, she reveals to Stefan about the cure, before snapping his neck, knowing he would give the cure to Elena if he had the chance.
Rebekah next appears inside the cave head in which Vaughn had Damon who managed to free himself. Vaughn had his gun pointed at the both, and Rebekah is confident in the knowledge she can't be killed without the White Oak Stake. He then shoots her three times and she launches at him, unprepared for the grenade he sticks on her chest as he holds up the fuse. The grenade detonates and spikes shoot into her body, neutralizing her.
Damon, who Vaughn incapacitated beforehand was freed when Stefan and Elena found them and he urged them to continue and then began to dig the spikes from Rebekah's body until she wakes.
After a short conversation, she realizes that Damon has given up after he urged Elena to continue for the cure, despite knowing her feelings may change if she became human. "You did something selfless, Damon. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were becoming a halfway decent person." She says whilst smiling.
In Stand By Me, Rebekah finds Damon who is also still on the island and demands to know where the cure is, surprised to learn Katherine stole the cure. She expresses sympathy towards Elena after being told of Jeremy's death, saying "I'm not heartless, he was Elena's only family" before telling him they find Katherine.
After hearing that Silas is awake, she follows Damon, and says she didn't like being out in the open. Damon's mocks her fear and she retorts Kol must of been afraid of Silas for a reason. She begins to ask Damon about why he is so far away from Elena, and says "or are you terrified of being there when she realizes her brother is dead?" Damon suddenly grabs her and an arrow is embedded in her back, by the onlooking Vaughn.
She appears beside Damon sometime later having managed to dig the arrow out of her spine and begins to question the bound Vaughn for information on where to find Katherine. After hesitation he admits Katherine found him and said she could help him find Silas, already aware of the Hunters Mark and the cure, as she had someone on the inside; Hayley. Rebekah then tells Damon that she has a lead on the cure and is determined to find it, and that he wouldn't mind as he never wanted Elena human again.
Sometime later, Rebekah tosses Vaughn to the ground and he tries to persuade her into using the cure on Silas. She is still unsure yet wary of his existence yet to prove it, Vaughn tells her to look in his bag for Silas' mask.
After hesitation, she does so and looks on at the mask in her hands, Vaughn asks her "how do you hide from the devil when you don't know what he looks like?" She swallows nervously before dropping the mask and running from the cave.
After nightfall, Rebekah is walking through the woods and is startled find a body, she shines the flashlight and realizes the body is Shane. She walks around yet gasps as the bloody Shane grabs her leg and says one name: Silas.
In Bring It On, Damon is searching a truck stop for the vampire who previously attacked the werewolf Hayley when Rebekah surprises him with a vial of Klaus' blood. She explains the blood is to cure the vampire Klaus had bitten and interrogate him for answers on Katherine's whereabouts. Their search brings them to a nearby hospital where they find the entire blood supply has been cleaned out. Rebekah questions his motives as she knows the sire bond is broken and says he would "just cure Elena back to loving your brother". Outside, Damon feeds on a nurse in order to lure out the dying vampire, as he appears, Damon realizes he knows him then rips his heart out as he was supposedly "too far gone". Later, at Elena's Wild Party, Rebekah accuses Damon of purposely killing the vampire to keep her from finding the cure. Damon tells her that becoming human would mean she would become a nobody and that "life sucks when your ordinary".
In Because the Night, Rebekah trails Damon and Elena to New York. She was suspicious of Damon who was still secretly looking for The Cure. As Elena doesn't want the cure, Rebekah offers her a deal to get the cure together so that Rebekah can solely ingest it, but Elena's rejection frustrates her. Later on, Elena accepts the deal since Damon wouldn't stop trying to find the cure for her. Rebekah and Elena steal Damon's car and leave New York together to hunt for Katherine who is in possession of the cure.
In American Gothic, Rebekah and Elena find Katherine in Willoughby, PA, where Katherine has compelled the entire town. While Elena pretends to be Katherine with Elijah, Rebekah keeps an eye on Katherine. Soon, Stefan and Damon arrive. Rebekah and Damon go with Katherine to her house to get the cure. While Rebekah searches the house, Damon finds that the cure is contained in a fish tank filled with vervain water. Katherine dunks Damon's head in the water and temporarily incapacitates him. Katherine distracts Rebekah by tossing the cure into the air and making a run for it. Damon, still weak from the vervain, tries to convince Rebekah not to take the cure, but Rebekah tells him to give her one good reason why he wants Elena to take it. Damon does not answer. Rebekah drinks from the vial, just as Stefan arrives too late, and loses consciousness. When she awakens, even though she states that she feels human, she quickly learns that she is still a vampire and that Katherine tricked them. Later, Rebekah meets with Elijah and asks him to give her the cure stating that she wants to be human. Klaus then calls her and asks about her progress. She gives the phone to Elijah, who tells Klaus that he has the cure and is on his way back to Mystic Falls. Rebekah and Elijah leave together.
In Pictures of You, Elijah agrees to give Rebekah the cure provided that she go a whole day without her vampire abilities. Klaus tells her that when she is dying he won't help her. Later, she tells Elena, who is now living with her, about all this while they walk through town. Elena says that she will come to prom to insure that Rebekah wins the cure so she won't have to take it. They enter a dress shop where Caroline is trying on her prom dress with Bonnie. Rebekah watches silently as Elena and Caroline exchange words.
At Prom, Rebekah walks up and asks Matt if he and Bonnie are a thing because they arrived together. He tells her that they are here as friends. Then, she asks him if he thinks she would make a good human. He tells her she wouldn't because he has never seen her do anything remotely good. Later, Rebekah is talking to April, who tells her that she can't just make her prom queen and that Rebekah can't compel her because she now drinks vervain tea. Elena vamp-speeds up to April, holds her by the neck and tells her to make Rebekah prom queen or she'll kill her. When April runs off, Rebekah tells her that she was not going to threaten April. Elena remarks that Rebekah will not win the cure by being herself because she is not a good person.
When Rebekah is sitting alone, Matt comes up to her and asks if she's seen Bonnie. She says that she is probably in the bathroom like all the other girls. She then asks Matt to dance with her. After some pleading, he agrees. While dancing, Rebekah tells Matt that he is everything that she want's to be: loyal, honest, and kind. She tells him that he's "so beautifully human." Elena later tells her that Silas is appearing at the prom as Jeremy. Elena tells her that since she can't kill Silas, she can kill Bonnieso she can't do his spell to destroy the other side.
Rebekah warns Matt to keep Bonnie safe. In the tent, Elena fails to kill Bonnie. After Bonnie runs away, April enters the tent and Elena, in a fit of anger, slams April's head onto a table, feeds on her and leaves. When Rebekah enters the tent, Matt convinces Rebekah to heal April with her blood. Realizing that she lost her bet with Elijah, she remarks that she should've stayed home. Matt assures her that he won't tell anybody about what she did.
Parting in a friendly manner, Matt leaves to take April home. Klaus then shows up, having seen everything, and tells her that she will tell Elijah everything. Rebekah calls Elijah, telling him not to lose the cure because Klaus is up to something. However, it is too late. Silas has already shown up in Rebekah's form and acquired the cure from Elijah and tears fall down Rebekah's cheeks.
In She's Come Undone, Rebekah is seen at the Mystic Grill drinking shots. She appears to be on her fifth one when Matt comes the back and walks up to her. Rebekah comments that she was wondering if he was going to keep ignoring her. He tells her that he was working and observes that she must have compelled the bartenders again. She tells him that she's celebrating because Elijah and Klaus have gone to New Orleans and left her alone. She also laments losing the cure and her chance to become human. Matt says that he's sorry and Rebekah accuses him of planning to take the cure from her to give to Elena. Matt tells her that he's sincere and goes to leave. Rebekah asks him to stay and have a drink with her but he tells her that he has to meet Caroline. Rebekah tells him that she likes Elena without her humanity and that she doesn't need fixing. He tells her matter-of-fact that Elena was his friend long before she was her sidekick. He asks her why she's still in Mystic Falls if she has nothing left there. He tells her that some people, like him, are broke, failing their classes, and stuck. He walks out leaving her clearly affected by his hard honesty. Later, Rebekah surprises Matt and Caroline by showing up at the Salvatore Boarding House. She brings Matt burgers as a peace offering, which Matt gladly accepts, and offers to help him study. Caroline enthusiastically offers to help Matt study. After she leaves to go home and get study aids, Rebekah says to Matt, "You dated that?" and he replies, "She likes projects." Later, Rebekah and Matt are alone in the boarding house living room. Matt uses an app on his phone to translate a sentence into Italian. Rebekah teases Matt about how her Italian may not be as good as it used to be. Matt tells her that he doesn't want to be left behind repeating his senior year while all his friends are in college. She tells him that the only reason he's failing classes is because he is too busy "training doomed hunters and dealing with Elena's drama." She offers to compel him good grades and a scholarship, but says he doesn't want that. She tells him that when he convinced her to save April Young at prom it made her realize that she could be a better person and that she's grateful. She advises to take advantage of what she's offering him and make something of himself. She tells him, "anyone who leaves you behind is a fool. I wouldn't." Right after she says this, Katherine walks in the front door, sarcastically commenting on Rebekah's comment. When Rebekah and Matt find out that Damon called Katherine to aid in rekindling Elena's humanity, Matt chastises him before Damon and Katherine leave the room. Matt goes outside to call Caroline. After Katherine allows Elena to escape, Rebekah is with Matt when Damon tells Matt to come with him to try and get Elena back. Rebekah asks why Matt should go with him, to which Damon replies that Matt's life might have some purpose this time. After Damon kills Matt while he is wearing the Gilbert Ring, Rebekah sits next to Matt until he comes back to life. When Rebekah asks if using the ring hurts, Matt tells her that getting his neck snapped and coming back from the dead both hurt a lot. Rebekah informs him that Elena has her humanity back on and that Matt did a brave thing. He tells her that he's trying to pay Elena back for saving him from drowning. Rebekah tells Matt that she can't apologize enough for her running him and Elena off Wickery Bridge or for Elena becoming a vampire. She tells him that she will spend every day until graduation trying to pay him back.
In The Walking Dead, Matt and Rebekah are at the Mystic Grill. Rebekah is a bit confused about sending out graduation announcements, and Matt confides that he isn't sending out any because he has hardly any family. Soon, Elena shows, and Rebekah offers her a drink. Elena tells her that they had their Bonnie and Clyde moment when her emotions were off, but that they are no longer friends. After the power goes out due to Bonnie's spell to lift the veil, Matt and Rebekah are the only ones left at the Grill, with candles lit everywhere. Out of nowhere Kol shows up, wanting revenge for his death. Before leaving to find Elena, he throws a broken bottle at Matt, injuring his shoulder. Rebekah offers to feed him her blood, but Matt refuses, saying that people in this town have a tendency to turn into vampires and that he would like to graduate as a human. Rebekah goes to find a first aid kit in the back and stumbles upon Caroline, who has been compelled by Silas to cut her wrists. After trying to snap Caroline out of the compulsion by saying her aunt and uncle want to see her graduate with both hands, Rebekah slaps Caroline, and it works. Walking out of the Grill, Matt notices someone walking around and asks Rebekah who it is. It's Alexander, Rebekah's ex-boyfriend/ex-fiance, who once daggered her and was killed by Klaus. As they turn to run away, Connor and Vaughn, two other vampire hunters, stop them in their tracks.
In Graduation, Rebekah is with Matt, who is on a bomb trigger which will detonate several bombs placed in cars around them if Matt steps off. Rebekah refuses to leave when Matt tells her to. When Alexander tells Rebekah that she she'll survive if she superspeeds Matt away, but Matt won't. Matt tells her to ignore Alexander and asks her what she will do after graduation. He tells her that just because he's never going to leave Mystic Falls doesn't mean she shouldn't. Rebekah tells him that she's going to take him travelling; he tells her that it's a date.
When Rebekah comments that they can go anywhere and that they won't be miserable ghosts on the other side, Alexander angrily throws a knife at Matt's head; Rebekah stops it and steadies Matt before he can fall off the bomb trigger. When Alexander leaves them alone, Matt tells her that he's wearing the Gilbert Ring and if she detonates the bomb, he might survive. Rebekah passionately kisses Matt and takes his place on the trigger. She tells him that he can't miss graduation and to run. When Alexander comes out, she tells him that she finally chose a good man and superspeeds away, detonating the surrounding bombs.
Later that night, Rebekah shows up at the Lockwood Mansion to check on Matt. She tells him that because they made plans in such an intense situation, she understands if he doesn't want to go. He tells her that they won't work and that he needs to keep his love life a low vampire zone. When she turns to leave, he tells her that whatever happens on the road, stays on the road, implying that he will go with her after all. He tells her not to get any ideas about turning him into a vampire and that she should be the one to show him how to truly live. Looking very happy, she agrees to this.
In I Know What You Did Last Summer, it has been three months since Matt agreed to travel the world with Rebekah. Rebekah is first seen getting into bed with Matt and a beautiful woman named Nadia. It is revealed later that they had a threesome. Later, after having returned to Mystic Falls, Rebekah finds Matt pouring beers from a keg for the End of Summer Party. Rebekah comments that it's tragic for him to go from five star restaurants to this. Then, they begin making out while talking. Rebekah asks Matt to come with her when she leaves for New Orleans. He tells her he needs to work and make a paycheck. Before she leaves, Rebekah playfully tells him not to call, write and most of all, not to miss her.
In 500 Years of Solitude, Rebekah saves Matt when he is locked in a safe by Nadia. When he sees her, she comments on how she's only been gone less than 3 months and he's already in trouble. They both smile at each other. When Tyler shows up, he tells Matt that Rebekah sent him as a parting gift.
Throughout The Originals Series
In Always and Forever, Rebekah is still in Mystic Falls at her home. She's seen taking a peaceful bath and sipping on champagne when her brother Elijah Mikaelson gives her a call. Previously, Elijah had left for New Orleans to investigate since he had heard word that there were witches conspiring against their brother Klaus Mikaelson. So in her phone call, he reveals to her that Klaus's former protégé Marcel Gerard is still alive. Rebekah has a seemingly shocking reaction to this. Then he goes on to explain that not only is Klaus's sire Marcel still alive, but he is also thriving as the ruler of the French Quarter. He has an army of savage vampires and rules the supernatural beings with an iron fist.
However, he swiftly loses her attention when he mentions Klaus's name. She goes on to state: "Our hateful, traitorous bastard of a brother, who's negated any sympathy I once had for him by his repeated efforts to ensure that neither you, nor I know any happiness outside of his own selfish universe." Elijah brings up their pact to remain together "Always and Forever", but Rebekah calls take backs on that pact. He alleges that she has taken take backs before, to which she retorts despite her age she's hardly senile, and if memory serves her right, she's stood by Klaus through thick and thin. Elijah then ends the conversation with saying that their brother must be in trouble when the witches are brave enough to bring an Original back into town and he wants to find out why.
When Elijah meets Hayley Marshall, he explains his family history to her. He shows her how they were turned into vampires through his mind. One of the first images that he shows her is a human Rebekah watching her brothers sword fighting.
Rebekah then receives another call from Elijah, who was hoping to persuade her to join them in New Orleans. He updates her on the recent turn of events. He laments on how Klaus is willingly to give up on his own offspring and he's lashing out with blind rage. He states that the last time he saw something like this, it lasted for two hundred years. He vividly recollects how Klaus was so close to feeling happiness when he heard the child's heartbeat for the first time, but now his temper is still getting the better of him. He then ends the conversation by telling her he's running out of time to go get the girl. Upon hearing this, Rebekah replies with her usual wit and sarcasm: "What, are we running an orphanage now?"
Still undettered by her lack of enthusiasm to help Klaus, Elijah attempts to give Rebekah one last call to change her mind. But by this time her resolve to stay away had been totally demolished, that she knew if she answered his call that she would have no choice, but to go help her brothers. So she decides to ignore his last call, but her expressions show that she had most likely made up her mind to join her brothers at that point.
In House of the Rising Son, after 3 months, Rebekah finally makes her appearance in New Orleans. She has been unable to reach Elijah so she comes to find him. Rebekah enters Klaus' home and is met by Hayley. She informs Rebekah that Elijah is gone. She tells his sister that after promising her and the baby protection, he just took off, according to Klaus. Rebekah immediately knows her brother has done something to Elijah and starts shouting insults until he appears from behind a closed door. The reunion between brother and sister is hostile, but not violent. Klaus tells her she's free to take a look around the rambling southern mansion that apparently belonged to an influential family friend, the governor. Rebekah recruits Hayley to search the house. It doesn't take them long to locate the family coffins. Rebekah explains Klaus' habit of torturing his siblings on a whim or whenever they disappoint him. Elijah's coffin is missing. Hayley feels sickened by this news and Rebekah tells her she should have run the minute Elijah went missing. Hayley fills her in on the witches' spell that keeps her bound to the city. Rebekah tells Hayley that Klaus will probably have a box ready and waiting for her the minute she gives birth. She suggests Hayley finds a way to break the hex the witches put on her and get out of town. That's what she plans to do as soon as she finds Elijah.
Rebekah tracks down Sophie and tells her to do a locator spell on the dagger so she can find Elijah. Sophie refuses, telling Rebekah that doing magic is punishable by death, Marcel's rules. Rebekah makes her own threats, but finds out that anything she does to Sophie also befalls Hayley. Out of respect for Elijah, she has to come up with an alternative plan.
Rebekah asks Sophie why the witches don't just leave; Sophie explains that they practice ancestral magic. She points out that the cemetery they are standing in houses the remains of their witch ancestors and without access to them, they're powerless. Rebekah explains that the witches' plan of convincing Klaus to go against Marcel was foolish given the men's history. She reveals that Klaus loved Marcel like a son. She tells Sophie all she's done is reunite two lost souls. Later, Rebekah is reunited with Marcel and she tells him she's looking for Elijah, but he says he's learned not to get in the middle of their family feuds before he leaves.
Hayley takes Rebekah's advice and procures some wolfsbane to kill the baby. Little does she know that the woman who sold it to her also sold her out to Marcel. Now he knows there is a werewolf in the quarter. Hayley gets cornered by some of Marcel's men in a park, but Rebekah swiftly and effectively comes to her aid. They unknowingly derailed Klaus on his journey to regain control of the quarter. Hayley was supposed to remain confined in the house since werewolves are banned from the quarter. Rebekah also managed to kill a handful of Marcel's men. Rebekah calls him out, accusing him of lying about having a plan and chastising him for not honoring the deal Elijah made. Klaus explains that Marcel hasn't trusted Klaus from the beginning. He's had all his crew swilling vervain, so they're impervious to his mind control. Klaus saw a chance to recruit an insider the night he was at The Abattoir. He made sure that at least one newbie vampire emerged from the evening. When Marcel took one in, Klaus compelled him before he was given vervain. He also decided to use Marcel's crush on the bartender Cami against him. He compelled her into his service as well.
Now Klaus has to clean up after Rebekah's mess. Infuriated, he asks Hayley what she was doing in the quarter and when she tells him what she was about to do, he becomes enraged. Rebekah points out that for someone who claims to not want his child, his actions speak louder than his words. She tells him it is okay to care. Klaus admits to Rebekah that he gave Elijah to Marcel. He and his crew were getting antsy with so many Originals in town so he did it as a peace offering.
He says he plans to dismantle Marcel's empire and honor Elijah's wishes regarding the baby and if Rebekah doesn't like how he does it, she's free to leave. Rebekah tells Hayley that for years, Klaus killed any suitor she ever had because he didn't think any were good enough for her. Hayley asks Rebekah why she doesn't just go confront Marcel about Elijah and she tells her that Klaus would kill her. Hayley presents the infamous daggers; she found them underneath Rebekah's coffin. Rebekah confronts Marcel and he takes her to see her brother. He introduces her to Davina, an incredibly powerful witch who invites her in. Just as Rebekah is ready to pull the dagger out of her brother's chest, Davina warns her not to do it. With her magic, she sends Rebekah flying out of the attic. Rebekah awakens to bad news this time as well. Marcel tells her the town, Davina and Elijah are all his. Everything that used to belong to her and Klaus now belongs to him. But Rebekah will stop at nothing and do whatever it takes to get her brother Elijah back.
In Tangled Up In Blue, Rebekah and Klaus have intersecting plans to get what they want. Marcel is having a huge masquerade ball tonight, and Rebekah strikes up a friendship with Cami and invites her to go. She figures that if Cami is there, Marcel will be distracted, which will allow her true plan to unfold. She has Sophie run a locator spell on Elijah, but since witchcraft is so heavily monitored in New Orleans, Rebekah plans to have Katie, the herb shop owner, do a bigger spell to act as a smokescreen. Katie will undoubtedly be killed, but it is a small price to pay - especially for a traitor.
At the ball, Marcel is distracted by Cami, as Rebekah planned. Later, Rebekah is talking with Sophie in the graveyard. Rebekah is watching over Sophie while she’s trying to locate Elijah. Sophie feels Katie’s magic stop, and wants to go on with her, smaller spell. Rebekah tells her no, that she doesn't want to risk Sophie’s exposure.
Rebekah is playing the piano back at the house, calling the night an “epic failure” because Sophie wasn't able to locate Elijah. Klaus disagrees. Rebekah tells him Katie’s magic stopped before they could finish. Klaus explains that that is because he broke her neck. Rebekah exclaims at this, and Klaus goes on. He tells her that Katie tried to take Marcel down with her, and he was there to “save” the day. Rebekah is livid. She screams at him that Sophie trusted him, and she trusted him. Klaus reminded her that if the witches get the power in NOLA, they’ll get Davina and use her against them instead. By protecting Marcel tonight, he’s being rewarded with getting Elijah back. But, he’s going to stick by Marcel’s side until Marcel tells him everything about Davina, then he will have her.
Rebekah tells him that he always gets what he wants, no matter what it costs anyone else. She tells him that he disgusts her.
In Girl in New Orleans, Rebakah has been looking up the style of windows which is only detail she can remember from Davina's room. St.Anne is the only church that has them. She meets Kieran and compels him to let her take a look around the church unaware he's immune to compelling. She's taken back into her memory of a opera and tells her he'll be home soon.
InSinners and Saints, Sophie tells Rebekah and Klaus about Sabine’s vision that she had when she was tooling around with a crystal trying to tell Hayley whether she was having a boy or a girl. Klaus asks what the vision said. Apparently, the vision said that the baby would bring about death to all the witches, and there’s a faction of witches out there who will stop at nothing to get rid of the baby. Rebekah says that she promised Elijah she’d keep Hayley safe, and wants to know just how extreme this faction of witches is. She also lets slip that Elijah and Davina are talking. Sophie is, understandably, shocked by that news and asks for confirmation. Rebekah gives it, but doesn't explain. Sophie talks a little more about this “extreme faction” of witches, and starts a flashback. Sophie tells Rebekah and Klaus that four girls would be chosen for harvest, just as Klaus gets a phone call from Marcel. In the cemetery, Rebekah appears behind Sophie and Hayley. “Could you be more idiotic?” She says that she can follow people too. Hayley says she’s coming, and that Rebekah can’t stop her, unless she locks her in this tomb, and if she does that Elijah will be none too happy to find her asphyxiated on the floor of the crypt. Rebekah and Klaus have a conversation on the phone where Rebekah tells Klaus that she’s going with Sophie and Hayley to the dead witches, and asks Klaus to stall Marcel in coming to investigate. While in the bayou, they see a massive paw print in the dirt, and then sees bloody claw marks in the bark of a nearby tree. A skinny dude appears, mutters something about Rebekah being an Original, and then vamp speeds it out of there.
Next scene, Klaus is outside the bayou bar again, talking on the phone with Rebekah. He wonders if that wasn't Marcel’s informant they ran into, and fusses at Rebekah for not catching him. She comes back at him with the fact that she knows she’s a failure as a sister, a friend, and as an Original vampire, but the dude is coming Klaus’s way. She says he’s a skinny guy that probably just looks like he’s seen a ghost.
Later, she makes herself comfy at the bar next to Marcel, who asks her if she’s come to take her drunk brother home. Rebekah replies, “why else?” Marcel says that he thinks they’re both hoping he’ll get very drunk and spill his secrets. Not sure how the conversation goes south from there, but it ends with Rebekah saying “you don’t want to be on the wrong side of me” and Marcel echoes it back to her. Klaus returns to the bar, to find only Rebekah there alone. Klaus asks her if he left, if he said where he was going. Rebekah asks if Klaus thinks Marcel figured out they were stalling him. Klaus shakes his head, and then wonders aloud if Marcel was actually stalling them.
Rebekah and Hayley are talking, and Rebekah teases that even if they have to buy Hayley a leash, she isn’t to go back to the bayou. Hayley says, again, that she just came down here to find out more about her family, and thought that maybe she had found some sort of connection with this wolf that protected her. She wants a family, doesn’t want to be alone in the world. Rebekah tells her that family is “nothing but a pain in the behind” and then chastises her for thinking that she’s alone. Rebekah says that she wouldn't ruin a pair of perfectly good boots by traipsing around the bayou for just anybody. Klaus walks in and Elijah walks right in behind him. Rebekah’s face breaks out into a huge smile and Hayley gives him a shy smile and walks outside. Rebekah tries to talk to him, but Elijah excuses himself to follow Hayley on to the porch.
Elijah has everyone – Hayley, Klaus, and Rebekah – sat down around a table, telling him everything he’s learned tonight. That war isn't over anything aside from Davina. The witches wants her to finish their Reaping, and Marcel and the vampire are protecting her because that’s what Marcel wants them to do.
In Fruit of the Poisoned Tree, Rebekah was peeved to find that her brothers had begun bonding with vampire reading time and a dose of human blood straight from the vein. While Elijah refused Klaus’ peace offering of a warm body, it’d be Rebekah who’d take to cleaning up the mess of said corpse. Hayley is resting and Rebekah is stuck babysitting her. Hayley says that she likes Rebekah even if she’s a bitch. Rebekah is ready to leave before the boys leave her behind but Hayley gets dizzy and is feeling sick. Rebekah is watching over Hayley, Hayley is getting worse. Sophie and Elijah shows up and sends Rebekah after some herbs. While Rebekah is searching for herbs, Marcel walks in and catches her looking. Marcel flirts with Rebekah to try to distract her but she finds what she needed and leaves.
After the spell is finally lifted, she told Elijah she was leaving. Rebekah wanted him to join her but she knows that he will never leave Klaus. Rebekah doesn't want in the war anymore, she just wants to be free. Elijah tells her that she is free and kisses her cheek. Marcel is having a drink when Rebekah comes to tell him goodbye. Marcel asks her to share a drink before she leaves. They get extremely close, she starts to leave then Marcel kisses her. She pushes him off then pulls him back to her and start to have sex.
Rebekah is still with Marcel, she found out that Marcel hasn't bothered her room. He also mentions “the hotel” then Rebekah acts weird. She tries to give him an apple and he says no. She asks Marcel to come with her, Marcel isn't all about it. Rebekah says an empire is nothing if there’s no one to share it with.
InBloodletting, As Rebekah discovers that Haley is missing she returns to New Orleans to get some answers from Marcel. Rebekah blames him from using her to get Haley and Marcel says that he wouldn't betray her like that. When Rebekah doesn't believe him Marcel takes her to the Garden where he keeps the vampires who haven't obey his rules. He shows her a sketch of a house, which he had designed for them to live in and waited to build it if Rebekah would have returned to him. Marcel then asks her to choose between him and Klaus and says that he would like to give her everything she have ever wanted. Rebekah tells him that Klaus would kill him first, but Marcel says that they should get rid of him first. Rebekah opposes the idea to kill Klaus as she is afraid that Marcel will only get himself killed. She realizes that Marcel didn't know that when you kill an Original vampire all the vampires who are sired from them will die. Then they decide to bury Klaus to the garden forever and finally Rebekah agrees with his plan as she finds out that Klaus left Elijah and Haley to the bayou and bite Elijah. Marcel then comes up with the plan to bury Klaus to the garden forever and Rebekah leaves him as she is yet unsure of this idea. When she arrives home she finds Klaus who has left Elijah and Haley to the bayou and bite Elijah to make him suffer. Klaus asks her to his side now that Elijah has abandoned him and tells her not to leave the city any time soon. When Klaus asks her to spy on Marcel and asks her all she knows about Marcel plans against him Rebekah lies to him telling that he is paranoid and unable to trust anyone. Mad at Klaus she agrees with Marcel's plot to stand against his brother.
In The River in Reverse, the episode starts with Rebekah as she thinks about her choices she has made in her life. She goes to church hoping to get absolution as she asks father Kieran to hear her confession. She confesses that she is a liar, betrayer, and that she has conspired against her own blood. Then the episode shows events that happened 24 fours earlier before this confession.
Klaus and Rebekah are having conversation and Klaus wants to know all she knows about Marcel's plans while Rebekah is giving him a hard time and blames him from hurting Elijah and says she is worried about what she can say as he might bite or dagger her. Rebekah leaves him and goes to meet Marcel who is having meeting with Tyler and quarter vampires as they learn more about the hybrids. She informs them about his brother powers to create hybrids and says that she wants to help them to overpower Klaus. Rebekah snaps Tyler's neck as she does not wish to harm baby but Klaus himself. She starts to make preparations with Marcel for their move against Klaus. Rebekah feels regret that she didn't bury Klaus 100 years ago so she could have been with Marcel long time ago. Later Rebekah openly stands against Klaus and says that she has had enough of his behavior. They ambush Klaus and before they attack him Klaus puts coin on the ground and promises to let the one who picks it up live. Rebekah soon realizes that they are not strong enough to win and begs Marcel to pick it up so Klaus will let him live. After their attempt to take Klaus down fails Rebekah goes to him and asks which one of them Klaus is going to dagger as their is only one dagger and two of them. Klaus tells them that for once his intentions for his child were pure and he just wanted to have his family back making both Elijah and Rebekah ashamed as they believed the worst of him. Then she goes to church to ask forgiveness for her sins which is seen at the beginning of the episode.
In Reigning Pain in New Orleans, Rebekah is advising Marcel how to behave around Klaus so that he would stay alive. Then Rebekah and Elijah are watching how their belongings are taken from them as Klaus feels hurt about their actions. As Elijah begins to worry about Haley Rebekah goes with him to make sure she is safe. Haley says that she is safe but asks them to help werewolves in the bayou who Klaus has ordered to kill. Rebekah and Elijah agree with it and they go to the bayou to stop all the vampires who have joined the wolf hunt. As they make sure that the vampires leave the werewolves alone she asks Elijah about his feelings for Haley as she can clearly see that he has fallen for her. Soon they have to stop vampires again as they failed to listen them earlier and threaten them to leave. They meet some werewolves and discover that they are from the same bloodline as Klaus. They unveil this information to Klaus who is angry at them for interrupting his orders. Although it was kind of apologize from them Klaus turns it down and says that he has had enough of his family for a lifetime. Disappointed in her brother, she continues to meet Marcel behind his back only to discover that Marcel chooses his people over her. As Marcel hurt her, she warns him that she knows a secret which will make Klaus hate him forever.
The Casket Girls, starts with the flashback from 18th century when Rebekah protected the girls who arrived to New Orleans in hope to marry fine husband, but they would have ended up with men not so noble at all. She saved them by killing the man waiting from them and took the girls under her protection. As the Casket Girls Festival is about to start, she is choosing a outfit for this celebration and Marcel shows up who tries to make things up with her. She doesn't want to do anything with him since he is in alliance with Klaus. While they are talking Klaus calls Marcel to tell him that Davina is missing and Rebekah starts looking for her on her own. She talks with Haley and finds out about the fact that Haley told Davina how Marcel and Klaus had hidden the fact about the witch elders death, causing her to run away. In some way Rebekah sees Davina as modern day casket girl who is used by men for their purpose. She tries to find Davina before Klaus and seeks out Joshua and asks him for his help to win Davina on her side. When Davina confronts Klaus for taking her beloved Rebekah goes to help her and takes Davina with her to the Garden to prove her how bad Klaus and Marcel are. She tries to make alliance with her to side against Klaus as she hopes to take the New Orleans from him. As they are there Timothy who is compelled by Klaus, poisons Davina and himself and Rebekah calls Klaus to ask how to cure them but Klaus refuses to help. Vampire blood isn't working but Davina is protected by spell and she wakes again, but Tim dies. Rebekah takes Davina back to the Marcel and Klaus but has made secret alliance with her.
In Après Moi, Le Déluge, Rebekah soon begins to worry about Davina who is losing control over her power. They realize that the only way to save the city from Davina's power they need to complete the harvest. As they are cooperating with Sophie to complete the harvest Rebekah wants to make deal with her that when the witches have their power back she would like them as her allies. As Marcel kidnaps Davina so they couldn't sacrifice, the originals unite their forces to get her back. When the Elijah comes up with the crazy plan to help them , Rebekah goes to the Garden to ask Marcel's former right-hand man Thierry about his possible whereabouts. She finds them and convinces him to let her go. Then the Originals bury their mother Esther hoping that when they make her New Orleans witch they could use her power to complete the harvest. When something goes wrong and the girls killed in harvest ritual will not resurrect as they should have, Rebekah starts to wonder where all that power go.
In Dance Back from the Grave, Rebekah convinced Klaus to let Thierry out of the Garden. She tells Elijah that she thinks someone stole the power during harvest ritual and that she would like to know who so she could make them her allies. She doesn't hide from Elijah that she intends to use this power against Klaus making Elijah disappointed in her. As she tries to find out about the stolen power with Thierry they find marks of the sacrificial magic instead. Papa Tunde attacks her to to channel her power so he could stand against Elijah and Klaus. Thierry runs and leaves her to face Papa Tunde alone. When Elijah discovers that she is missing he starts looking for Rebekah. He forces Thierry to tell him all what he knows about Rebekah and then he and Haley are going to her. Elijah then saves her from Papa Tunde's spell when they add the baby's blood to the magic circle so they could get her out. When the spell is broken Rebekah goes after Thierry who left her in danger until Elijah snaps his neck.
Elijah asks her if she still conspires against her own family and blames her from destroying their happiness. Rebekah asks him if her feelings doesn't matter to him and blames him for being a hypocrite as his own feelings for Haley are causing much more damage for their family than her actions. After this she meets with Marcel and they talk about Papa Tunde who brought up lot of memories for them. In the end of the episode there is flashback about Rebeka's and Marcel's past, which reveals that Marcel was the one who first asked Papa Tunde to come to New Orleans as he hoped that it will distract Klaus from his relationship with Rebekah. But when his plan failed Rebekah tells him about his father who hunts Klaus saying that Klaus would leave New Orleans when he comes. They were the ones who betrayed Klaus to Mikael.
In Crescent City, she delivers the rumors about Monique's resurrection to her family and Marcel. Later she is meeting with Elijah privately and Elijah asks her to take Hayley to the plantation house, so she could be safe. Rebekah agrees to to this favor for him so they could end their stupid quarrel. When she is leaving Marcel finds her to warn Rebekah that one of the witches might be Genevieve from their past and she would have reason to want revenge on them. Rebekah is afraid of this witch and asks Marcel to find her and kill this witch while she takes Hayley to plantation house. Once Rebekah and Hayley arrive to the safe house Hayley says that she is going to throw a party for her clan. At the party she meets the wolf Oliver and spends some time with him, which leads straight her to the trap. She is encircled by wolves and they take her down, until Genevieve comes after her.
In Long Way Back From Hell, Rebekah and Klaus are taken to the sanatorium where Rebekah and Genevieve worked in the past. Rebekah continues to hallucinate due to her werewolf bites. Genevieve uses a spell to link Klaus' mind to Rebekah's and he discovers she is responsible for bringing Mikael to New Orleans. Genevieve releases a furious Klaus and he goes after Rebekah. Rebekah puts up a fight but Klaus gets the upper hand. Just as Klaus is about to dagger her, she is rescued by Elijah and Marcel. Rebekah and Marcel run away.
In Le Grand Guignol, Rebekah is trying to run from Klaus with Marcel and realizes that no matter where they go Klaus will find them. She and Marcel talk about trying to bring Davina back from the dead and she can do a spell that can hide them. They both head back towards New Orleans and to meet up with Thierry. They talk about killing all of the witches that have been resurrected and they go with the plan. Genevieve and Bastianna arrive, but Bastianna uses magic when Thierry vamps out to kill them. Marcel succeeds in killing Bastianna and they go to the cemetery to retrieve Davina's body. When they get her body, Marcel can leave the cemetery but Rebekah can't. She realizes she's trapped; bound by a spell until the next moonrise. She promises Marcel that she will join him once she can leave. Elijah meets up with her and asks her why she is in New Orleans and she tells him that it wouldn't have been far enough. Klaus yells at Elijah to get away from her so he can kill her and they all vamp out to fight.
In Farewell to Storyville, it starts off with a flashback to when the Mikaelsons were still human children. There is a storm and Klaus comforts Rebekah. In present time, Klaus is still upset with Rebekah. They’re still stuck in the cemetery. Elijah tells Rebekah to leave and she does, Elijah tells Klaus he will not let him hurt Rebekah. Rebekah calls Marcel and she is sure Klaus is going to kill her. Marcel promises he’s going to get Rebekah out of the cemetery before Klaus hurts her.
Rebekah comes out of hiding, and tells his that yes she did something bad but it was only out of retaliation to whatever horrible things he has done. Klaus is sitting up high in the cemetery, giving Rebekah a trial. Klaus stands by his reasoning of wanting to keeping Rebekah safe. Rebekah asks what has happened to him. Elijah tells Klaus that perhaps he’s forgotten who has really been by his side. It goes into another flashback of Mikael beating Klaus for using his knife for carving something. Elijah and Rebekah come to his aid. In present time, Klaus points out that Marcel pretty much used her. Rebekah lashes out. Klaus goes to stab Rebekah but Elijah saves her and takes the stake away from Klaus. Elijah then asks Rebekah to leave. Marcel calls Rebekah to tell her that Davina can’t help her and Rebekah tells Marcel to run.
Klaus tells Elijah to just go ahead to stab him. Elijah throws the stake, he will not kill his brother. Klaus stabs Elijah with Tunde's blade. Rebekah has the white oak stake and tells him that she decides who lives and dies now. Klaus and Rebekah stand off over Elijah. She wants him to take the blade out of Elijah. Rebekah tells him that he is the only one to blame for their situation. Klaus admits he’s insane. Klaus wants Rebekah to admit that she wanted him dead. Rebekah admits that she did and then Klaus stabs Rebekah with the white oak stake.
Klaus is sitting in the cemetery when Rebekah wakes up. Klaus didn't want to kill Rebekah, he just wanted her to know how he felt when Mikael came after them. They are both crying and Rebekah reminds him that she, him, and Elijah are all broken due to Mikael. They come to an agreement. Klaus wants Rebekah to leave, and never to come back. Klaus will stay in New Orleans. He tells her that she is free, Rebekah looks pretty shocked but she leaves.
Rebekah goes to the burnt down Mikaelson home. Elijah then shows up as well. Rebekah asks if he would like to join her. She apologizes to Elijah and she still has hope for Klaus. Rebekah gives him a kiss on the cheek and tells him to help Klaus find his way. Rebekah finds Marcel and he isn't ready to leave, he doesn't want to run away. Rebekah tells Marcel that he can have his city. Rebekah goes to leave but Marcel grabs her and gives her a kiss goodbye. Hayley is in the bayou, Rebekah found her to say goodbye. Rebekah tells Hayley there is hope for Klaus. She tells her to be careful and that she loves her niece very much. The episode ends with Rebekah driving away, with her top down and a smile on her face.
In From a Cradle to a Grave, Klaus, Elijah and Hayley decide that New Orleans is too dangerous for the youngest Mikaelson because of all the enemies that they have made. They choose to send her away while they remain behind to clear up the mess they made. With Marcel's help, they fake her death and call Rebekah back to town. Klaus tells her that, despite everything that has happened between them, there is non one he'd rather trust to protect his daughter. He tells her that she needs to find a witch who can perform a cloaking spell so that the witches will never find her. Before she leaves, he tells her that the baby's name is Hope.
In Rebirth, Rebekah has Hope in her arms. She tells Hope a fairytale about her father and New Orleans.
Once upon a time, there was a majestic king. He was blessed with a beautiful baby daughter for whom he wished only peace. Still, the king had demons who pursued him. There was a ruthless beast who wanted to take the kingdom for her own. Armed with a pack of untamed creatures, she drove all the other magical beings from the land. And there was a wicked sorceress with enchanted stones that weakened the king every full moon. Seeing the shadows his enemies caused upon his home, the king was driven to send his beloved princess away, convincing all that remain that she was forever lost. The king, in his sorrow, turned away from the world. The castle closed its doors, and the kingdom fell. Some say that the only light that shines in the castle illuminates the shadow of the once majestic king in the room meant for his child. But, as the ruthless beasts took rule over the fallen king's realm, little did they know that he and his brother would not rest until their enemies were vanquished. For, they believed that one day, they would heal their kingdom and bring their precious princess home, so that she might live happily ever after.
After the story Rebekah places Hope in her crib and puts the toy Klaus gave to Rebekah as a child next to her.
In The Brothers That Care Forgot, Rebekah is seen at a park with Hope. While pushing Hope on the swing Rebekah spots many mysterious birds and she sees this as a sign that Esther has found her and Hope. Rebekah calls Elijah and explains her situation, but not to trust Hayley with the news. Rebekah meets Elijah at a café with Hope. Greeting Elijah and explaining that she knows she will need to return Hope to Hayley eventually. Rebekah begins to explain that spending every day with Hope has made her realize how badly she would like a child of her own, however she knows it is not possible. Rebekah however, seems interested when Elijah reveals there mothers plan.
In The Map of Moments, Rebekah tries to bring back an ancient family tradition during the bonfire season. After seeing how much Esther played with Elijah's mind, she makes the decision to risk her Vampirism and body in order to stop Esther's plan. She spikes Esther's wine with her own blood. Rebekah is not kept in her own body, revenge enforced by Kol for her betraying him in 1914. She awakens in the once grand Dowager Fauline Cottage in the body of a presumably insane witch. It can be presumed that she is insane because the cottage has been used as an insane asylum since 1914.
In the flashbacks that show Rebekah before being turned into a vampire, she is a caring, supportive and overall sweet teenage girl. Like the rest of her siblings, she was scared of her father and often witnessed her brother being abused by Mikael, to a point that she even tried to kill him, unable to tolerate her father's abusive nature towards Niklaus anymore. She had desired the cure so that she could become human again and fulfill her dreams of having kids and family of her own.
Initially, Rebekah's personality in the series is erratic, spiteful and vindictive. After being turned, the aspects of her personality were heightened. Rebekah mentions this, saying, “We’re vampires. Our emotions are heightened. I’m stubborn, Elijah moral, and Nik. Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him”. After her mother’s death, Rebekah grieves deeply, sometimes crying herself to sleep calling out her mother’s name, as said by Esther. After spending centuries with Niklaus, with whom she shares a close bond with, she has become dependent on him, although she is not fond of him making decisions for her.
Because of the heartbreak she has endured, Rebekah has built up an emotional wall and she comes across as being cruel, aggressive, brutal and mean. Despite her aggressive and brutal nature, she has shown to be emotionally fragile. In reference to Rebekah, Elena says, “I learned that she is just a girl and that she lost her mom too young. And she loves blindly and recklessly, even if it consumes her”. She very much wants to be like a normal teenager and longs to have the normal teenage life she missed out on. Rebekah is also shown to be very punctual, as she showed up on time to clean up the dance that she organized, but didn't attend due to the incident with Esther and reprimanded Caroline for showing up two minutes late.
Rebekah fears being left alone and she doesn't believe it when people treat her kind as a friend or a lover. Over the centuries, she was let down by her half-brother Klaus and her lover Stefan. She is just a lonely girl who wants someone who actually cares about her. Rebekah had her heart melted when she saw Stefan and Elena's devotion to each other, possibly because she wanted to be in a similar relationship.
She grew closer to Matt Donovan in the fourth season, and his influence seemed to rub off on her. She was not as spiteful and arrogant as she was before and was willing to assist the main gang whenever she was needed. Despite her rivalry with Caroline, she didn't hesitate on saving her life by harshly knocking her out of her trance. Finally, the inner good within herself shined through when she saved Matt from being blown to pieces by Alexander.
Ever since moving to New Orleans, Rebekah has shown a lot more of her inner humanity. She has shown a special affection for Hayley and the baby she is carrying, breaking Tyler Lockwood's neck when he outwardly threatened the baby's life. She has also supported for Hayley when she needed her help, and Hayley was among the few people that Rebekah said goodbye to, hoping that she would tell crazy stories about her to her unborn niece and asking Hayley to give the child her love. She sympathized with the young witch Davina and made sure that Marcel and her brothers didn't get their hands on her during the Casket Girls festival. She silently berated Klaus for costing the life of an innocent human in his attempt to prove a point to Davina. Even in flashbacks, her capacity for heroism is evident, having saved young women who were about to be taken advantage of by men of ill will. She has even saved Matt Donovan from the safe he was trapped in and greeted him with a smile. She sent Tyler Lockwood to him has a parting gift. Rebekah's past eventually caught up with her and this caused her to try every way possible to escape her brother's clutches. However, now that she is free, she leaves New Orleans, optimistic of a bright future that awaits her.
Rebekah returns to New Orleans to take her niece, Hope, and keep her safe from Esther. She has exhibited a light-hearted and warm air upon meeting her beloved brothers again, as if the bad blood between them didn't matter in the slightest. Though we have yet to see more of how Rebekah took care of her niece, it appears that she is a nurturing and gentle caregiver who sees to it that Hope is loved and well taken care of.
Rebekah is put inside of a unknown witch in The Map of Moments, instantly terrified and startled as she realizes she was trapped inside Dowager Fauline Cottage.
Rebekah has a hard time adjusting to her mortality as well as to her newfound magic, as she is seen trying to bite someone on impulse, only to discover that the taste of blood is disgusting in her new body. She still retains her fighting skills, only she is now much more weaker and slower, however, she is quick to adjust to her new body as well as to the fact that she is a witch.
Rebekah is hot, beautiful and very attractive woman and has natural light blond hair, light blue eyes, full lips and pale, light skin. She is a tall and slim Caucasian female. She's over 1000-years old, but looks like she is in her late teens, somewhere between 18-19 years old. She appears to be the youngest of the Original family. When Rebekah is in her vampiric form, her eyes will turn red with small veins protruding around the area of her eyes and her teeth will lengthen into fangs, possibly longer than that of regular vampires. Her eyes also seem a lot redder than normal vampires.
In terms of fashion sense, Rebekah is often seen wearing stylish and mature clothing with trendy coats and fashionable jewelry, such as long necklaces and pendants or dangle earrings. She is mostly seen wearing the colors of white, black, brown or gray. She often wears low-heeled boots and shoes with dark jeans or leggings. As a human and early years as an Original vampire, she was very in-tuned with fashion and her style was very "in" to the times, for example in the 1920's, Rebekah wore the classic "flapper" dresses with long pearl necklaces and matching jewelry.
Rebekah has long, icy blonde-hair, which is usually styled with soft waves; however, she can occasionally be seen with straight hair or pulled back in a casual style, rarely wearing any hair accessories. In early centuries, Rebekah had long, waist length hair with braids and flowers; however her hair changes with the times.
During special occasions, such as dances and balls, Rebekah wears very elegant dresses, for example, at the Mikaelson's Ball she wore a beautiful green one-shoulder dress. However, she mainly wears slacks and jeans and has an overall very formal sense of style. Rebekah's makeup usage is minimal, subtle daily; but she tends to wear more for special occasions.
Powers and Abilities
Although the youngest of the Original Vampires, Rebekah is still an extremely powerful vampire, with the exception that Klaus is stronger and faster due to his werewolf side. Due to her advanced age she is one of the most powerful supernatural beings in the the TVD/TO universe. However, due to her being the youngest of her siblings, her power is slightly inferior to that of her father, her brothers, and her maternal half-brother, Rebekah although inferior to Klaus, has been shown to stand up to Klaus on several occasions, like her brothers, Kol and Elijah; however she has been easily subdued by Klaus on several occasions. Due to her advanced age and Original Vampire status, Rebekah's physical strength and speed is more than that of any non-original vampire. Rebekah was seen killing many fully transformed werewolves on a full moon, before finally being subdued herself. This shows her physical strength as Damon Salvatore, despite being over one hundred and seventy years old, struggled to subdue one werewolf.
Since being put into a Witch's body, she presumably has the powers of one now. This is confirmed when Rebekah attempts to perform a spell with Cassie in order to send her brothers a message. The spell immediatly starts working, however, before it can take effect, they are both interrupted.
Rebekah has the typical weaknesses of an Original Vampire. Since being put into a Witch's body, she now has the typical weaknesses of a human/witch.
Klaus is Rebekah's older half-brother. Out of all his siblings, he is closest to her and he cares very deeply for her, although he seems to have a lot of difficulty showing her his affection. They are loyal to each other. They have never left each other's side and stood by one another through thick and thin. After Klaus was "supposedly" killed by Alaric in The Departed, Rebekah is heartbroken after losing her older half-brother, whom she loved very much and who never left her side. When she finds out in the season four premiere that he was still alive, their relationship started to completely and totally deteriorate when he chose to save Caroline over his own sister. Rebekah confronted him about how she never stopped loving him through everything; it was always her that was there for him when Finn, Kol and even Elijah weren't. She now realizes he truly doesn't love her when he tells her they are no longer family. Klaus is the one who daggered her and he's really used her in a way that's unforgivable. They have both attempted to exploit each other, but are also bound by their love and his feeling of wanting to protect her from her own weaknesses. Later in the season, Klaus saves her when Kol nearly tries to kill her with a White Oak Stake. Even when she hates him, he shows that he still cares and loves her regardless of what's happened between them.
Elijah is Rebekah's older brother. Her relationship with him has been very dysfunctional. Elijah is in the habit of being very critical towards Rebekah due to her actions. After she requests him to give her the cure for vampirism, Elijah agrees provided that she go a whole day without her vampire abilities. However they were tricked by Silas with Klaus's help. After finding out that Klaus is going to be a father, Elijah asks her to follow Klaus and him to New Orleans. She refuses to follow Elijah and help him. Elijah is without a doubt the brother Rebekah respects most out of all her brothers.
Kol is Rebekah's older brother. Rebekah and Kol have a really difficult relationship because no matter what they say or do, they can’t stay a minute without fighting. He has always been her partner in crime. He helped her gain information from Shane about the cure until he found out that it involved Silas. Kol refused to have part in it and wanted everyone to stop looking for the cure. Kol made an attempt to kill her; but Klaus saved her. Later on, he is killed by Jeremy and Elena. Rebekah mourns the loss of her brother; but still wants to find the cure. When Kol returns from The Other Side, he is not happy to see her as she did not get revenge for his death, which strains their relationship.
Esther and Rebekah meet in the present for the first time in Bringing Out The Dead, when Elijah revives his siblings. Rebekah tries to harm Klaus to avenge her mother, but Esther arrives and stops them. Rebekah is surprised to see Esther alive and Esther tells the Originals that she wants them to be a family again. Esther tries to use the power of the full moon and the Bennett bloodline to kill all of her children, but she is stopped by Elijah's plan. Then Esther tells Rebekah she is dying, but this is just a lie that she used to get Rebekah to let her guard down. She then possessed Rebekah. Esther then returns to her body after Alaric drives a dagger through Rebekah's heart.
Rebekah and Elena were originally enemies until they became allies and partners-in-crime in Because the Night. There’s a commonality between humanity-free vampire Elena and Rebekah that makes their pairing a lot of fun. The dark, humanity-free Elena ends up returning it with snipes of her own, converting their conversations into playful banter. Rebekah may be confounded at times with this new side of Elena, but she is also discovering someone who she can connect with now. The two of them have both experienced the life of being over-protected and being restricted from making independent decisions. When Elena got her humanity back, she told Rebekah that they are not friends.
Rebekah is a feminine name of Hebrew origin (רבקה). The name means "to tie". *It's a biblical name, of the wife of Isaac and mother of Esau and Jacob. Alternate version of it is Rebecca.

Rebekah refers to herself as Kol's "baby sister", implying that she is the youngest of the Original family, with the exception of Henrik who died long ago.
It was later confirmed that she is the youngest Original.
Out of all the Original Vampires, Rebekah can be considered the most stubborn and ill-tempered.
During the second season, an old and powerful vampire (possibly one of the Original Vampires) named Adrienne was set to appear, but in the end, the character was removed and instead Rebekah appeared in Season Three.
Like Elijah, Rebekah appears in all but three episodes between her first and last appearance of her debut season.
Other nicknames given to her are "The She-Devil", and "Evil Blood Slut" by Caroline along with "Barbie Klaus", by Damon.
Out of all her siblings, Klaus is the only one shown to be protective of her, but after Rebekah angrily destroys the last of Elena's human blood, Klaus disowns her as his sister and family member and snaps her neck.
In Le Grand Guignol, Rebekah seeks a cloaking spell to protect him and Marcel from Klaus. The spell is planned to be performed by Davina, who is planned to be resurrected through the harvest witch deaths.

After 1,000 years Rebekah received what she had always wanted; to be human, though not in the way she envisioned, due to her being a witch trapped in the Asylum.
Although she looks like the Dumb Blond, she actually has Hidden Depths . Although externally she is an Alpha Bitch , she is deeply hurt by being betrayed so many times. Deep down she just wants to be a normal girl and go to a dance without being stabbed in the back or poisoned.
With all that has happened to her, it turns out she has a very good reason to destroy EVERYTHING !
Rebekah: (To Elijah) "He's gone, Elijah, and there was nothing I could do to stop it." - The Departed
Rebekah: (To Elena) "Aaah! I see what's going on here! You died with vampire blood in your system and you didn't feed and now you're locked up in here without a drop of you human blood inside. That is a problem! Has anyone done the math or shall I? Let's say you've got less than 3 hours to feed before I get to watch you die all over again. My day just got a whole lot better!"
Rebekah: (To Klaus) "How dare you save Caroline over me!"
Rebekah: (To Klaus) "I mourned you. My heart broke thinking I would never see you again!"
Rebekah: (To Klaus) "It’s always been me! Not Finn, not Elijah, not Kol, me! I loved you through everything and you don’t even care!"
Rebekah: (To Klaus) "Go right ahead. Laugh at the girl who loved too easily. But I would rather have lived my life than yours, Nik. No one will ever sit around the table telling stories about a man who couldn't love. Do it. Look me in the eye and do it, you coward! do it!"
Rebekah: (To Stefan) [laughs] "No. It'd be far too easy. I refuse to make you forget her the way Klaus made you forget me. [turns to Elena] But at least you know how he really feels. [back to Stefan] Consider your eternity of pain my revenge, Stefan. I've used you for all you're worth, so now, you're free to go"
Rebekah: (To Stefan) "So is writing in your diary apparently. I'm just checking for doubts. You can never be too cautious when it comes to love. One minute, you're begging me to compel Elena from your mind, and the next, I'm up coffin creek with a dagger in my back"
Rebekah: (To Stefan)"Quite the opposite. It's liberating actually. You know why we had so much fun in the twenties, Stefan? Because we didn't care. We just did what felt good -- drinking, feeding, sex. [She's lightly dragging the knife against Stefan's neck.]"
Rebekah: (To Stefan)"This is what you want, right? [She gives it to him.] Go ahead, take it. You're right. I do care. I want stupid koala corsages and a prom. I want to have kids with someone who loves me enough to stand outside my window with a stupid boombox. I want to be human. So let Klaus put down my brother. Let's go find the cure"
Rebekah: (To Stefan)"I'm merely stating the facts. Jeremy has the spell on his body. Bonnie is the witch that unseals the cure. Shane is the human compass. You and I have the tombstone, which does god knows what. And Elena has no point."
Rebekah:(To Stefan) "Isn't it obvious? It's all an act, Stefan. Being a vampire is miserable. I would give anything to be human. Normal"
Rebekah: (To Elena)"I don't care what happens to you either way. But if you're gonna die, it might as well be epic."
Rebekah: (To Stefan)"You all seem to forget that Elena's death was the only way to save my family. I did the same thing that every one of you would've done to protect the people that you love. And before you cast me as the bad guy, maybe you should remember that Elena's helped to kill not one, but two of my brothers. Maybe we're not as different as everyone's making us out to be. Jeremy's not here. I'm going back."
Rebekah: (To Stefan)"There's still hope for one of us. But even if I felt pity for you, if I wanted to ease your pain so I gave you the cure to take for yourself, you'd give it to Elena, wouldn't you?"
Rebekah: (To Damon)"You did something selfless, Damon. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were becoming a halfway decent person."
Rebekah: (To Damon)"I didn't say I was going to miss him, but I'm not heartless. He was Elena's only family."
Rebekah: (To Damon)"I'm not a scaredy cat. My brother Kol drove himself mad worrying about Silas rising. It would benefit us all to be a bit concerned, and you're one to talk about being afraid. You're so scared, you're 1,200 miles away from where you're supposed to be."
Rebekah: (To Damon)"Aren't you Elena's current love? It's so hard to keep track these days. Shouldn't you be home comforting her, or are you terrified of being there when she realizes her brother is dead?"
Rebekah: (To Damon)"He's right. You can't kill him, but that doesn't mean we can't tear him apart piece by piece, nerve by nerve until the pain is so severe, that your brain shuts it off to give you one tiny moment of blessed relief, and then we'll heal you and do it again and again and again."
Rebekah: (To Elena) "We're not here for a pub crawl, Elena! I want the cure, Katherine has it. We don't stop until we find her!"
Rebekah: (About Katherine) "The conniving little bitch compelled the whole town."
Rebekah: (To Elijah) "You and Katherine? And I thought you were the smart brother."
Rebekah: (To Elijah) "You will always be my brother. And I will never stop loving you. But now it's time for me to live and die the way that I choose, not the way you and Nik want me to. Please. Please just give me the cure."
Rebekah: (To Matt) "I'm celebrating. My brothers and I have parted company. Elijah and Nik have run off to New Orleans, chasing god knows what, and I am finally free."
Rebekah: (To Matt) "Did you hear that I lost the cure to Silas? I was this close to the life that I always wanted and then, poof-- gone in a heartbeat."
Rebekah: (To Matt) "Why not? Everyone needs an advantage in life. I could be yours. When you convinced me to save April Young's life at the prom... I realized that I could be a better person and I'm grateful for that. So let me give you some advice: take advantage of what I'm offering you. Make something of yourself. And for the record, anyone who leaves you behind is a fool. I wouldn't.
Rebekah: (To Matt) "Well, it looks like Elena's emotional floodgates have been burst wide open, so she'll be back to her dull, sympathetic self in no time."
Rebekah: (To Klaus) ''We are the strongest creatures in the world, and yet we are damaged beyond repair. We live without hope, but we will never die. We are the definition of cursed... Always and forever."
Rebekah: (To Klaus) ''What has happened to you? I remember the sweet boy who made me laugh and gave me gifts, who loved art and music. I wanted to be just like you."
Rebekah: (To Mikael (Flashback) "I will not let you hurt him any more."
Rebekah: (to Hope) "Once upon a time, there was a majestic king, who lived with his noble brother in a colorful kingdom where music and art were celebrated. The king did not foresee having a child, but he lived in an enchanted land where all things were possible. In time, he was blessed with a beautiful baby daughter for whom he wished only peace and happiness. Still, the king had demons who pursued him. There was a ruthless beast who wanted to take the kingdom for her own. Armed with a pack of untamed creatures, she drove the other magical beings from the land. And there was a wicked sorceress with enchanted stones that weakened the king on every full moon. Seeing the shadow his enemies cast upon his home, the king was driven to send his beloved princess away, convincing all who remained that she was forever lost. The king, in his sorrow, turned away from the world. The castle closed its doors and the kingdom fell. Some say that the only light that shines in the castle illuminates the shadow of the once mighty king in the room meant for his child. But as the ruthless beasts took rule over the fallen king's realm, little did they that he and his brother would not rest until their enemies were vanquished. For they believed that one day, they would heal their kingdom and bring their princess home. So that she might live happily ever after."
