Pickett Mausoleum was seen at the end of The Reckoning, when its location was given to Damon Salvatore, Katherine Pierce, and Jeremy Gilbert by the ghost of Anna. Mikael was buried there, entombed by a witch in the 1990s, who was later revealed to be Abby Bennett, Bonnie Bennett's mother.
Abby desiccated Mikael using dark magic when Mikael came looking for the latest Petrova doppelgänger, Elena Gilbert, in the early 1990s, and then entombed him in the cemetery in hopes that he would not be found. The mausoleum is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
