In Original Sin, Nadia kidnapped Katherine and brought her here in order to escape from Silas who wanted to drain Katherine of blood in order to cure himself of immortality.
In Monster's Ball, Katherine told Nadia that she went back to Bulgaria in 1498 to look for her daughter.
