"Your trap failed Mother. I still live and I will go on living and should your beloved spirits try to preserve you again I dare you to come after me. I will build an army so big no one will ever touch me. My survival will haunt you for eternity. You will never destroy me!"
— Klaus to Esther in Do Not Go Gentle

Niklaus, more commonly known as "Nik" or "Klaus", was an Original/Hybrid, and the son of Unnamed Man and Esther. He has six siblings that consists of five half-brothers and one half-sister. A deceased unnamed older brother, four other half-brothers named Elijah, Finn, Kol, and Henrik. And a younger half-sister named Rebekah. Klaus is also the step-son of Mikael.

He is first mentioned in a conversation between Rose and Stefan warning him about the Originals. Klaus is believed to be the most hated and feared of all the Originals and those who fear him are desperate for his approval. Over the centuries Klaus has become a recluse who confides in and trusts only the members of his inner circle.

For over 1000 years Klaus has been trying to a break a curse that bound him to a moonstone. He created the myth of the sun and moon curse in order to help find the moonstone and the Petrova Doppelgänger that was needed to break the actual curse. His goal was to bring out his werewolf side so he could sire his own super race.

In 1492, he finally got his chance to break his curse when he met Katerina Petrova, the final piece for the ritual. He kept her entertained until the full moon, but was unaware that she found out what he was and what he wanted from her, causing Katherine to escape from him. After Katerina turned into a vampire he assumed that her family line ended with her and that his chance to break his curse was forever gone, Klaus traveled to Bulgaria and slaughtered her entire family in revenge.

For the next 500 years Klaus was searching for a way to break the curse without the doppelgänger and had forced generations of witches and warlocks to help him for centuries. Along his search for a way to break his curse, Klaus has hunted down his family and neutralized them. Also he was searching for Katerina Petrova, who escaped him and stole his moonstone.

He is the main antagonist of Season 2, making his first appearance in Know Thy Enemy, in Alaric's body.

Niklaus is a member of the Mikaelson Family.

HistoryEdit

Niklaus during the middle ages
Klaus was born to Esther and a unknown man, in a small village that would eventually become known as Mystic Falls. Klaus has six half-siblings and a step-father named Mikael, who was a wealthy landowner who moved with Esther to the New World when their home village was devastated by a plague. Klaus was close to his family with the exception of Mikael; this was because Klaus was not his son and from a different bloodline. Many years before his mother had an affair with a man from a different species. When his brother Henrik was killed by a werewolf, Esther performed a ritual which transformed Klaus, his siblings and his step father into

vampires. When he made his first human kill, his werewolf gene was activated, thus informing Mikael of Esther's unfaithfulness. Mikael then hunted down and killed Klaus' father and his entire family, not realizing that he was igniting a war between vampires and werewolves that has been perpetuated across the ages. Soon after becoming a vampire and discovering his werewolf bloodline, a curse was placed on Klaus by Esther, forcing his werewolf side to lie dormant and then abandoned him. In retaliation, Klaus murdered his mother, and framed Mikael for the act.

. He planned to sacrifice her, but she escaped. After Katherine escaped, she was turned into a vampire unintentionally by Rose.

In retaliation, Klaus traveled to Bulgaria and murdered her family for her defiance. Over the centuries Klaus was obsessed with finding Katherine, to break his curse without the doppelgänger and his moonstone ever since.

1920sEdit

During the 1920s Klaus and his sister Rebekah were on the run from the vampire Mikael, a vampire hunter from his past. The siblings were in Chicago in 1922 where they met the vampire Stefan Salvatore that Rebekah fell in love with. At first Klaus hated Stefan but it changed when Klaus discovers that Stefan was a Ripper and they became good friends. One day they were attacked at a bar by Mikael. Before Klaus and Rebekah left, Klaus compelled Stefan to forget him and Rebekah. Later when he and Rebekah were about to leave Chicago, Rebekah told Klaus that she was tired of running and wanted to be with Stefan. Klaus then forced her to choose between him and Stefan, she chose Stefan. This made so him angry that he neutralized his sister with a White Oak Ash Dagger, he then took her body with him in a car and left Chicago.

Season TwoEdit

Isobel Flemming, a vampire working for Katerina Petrova who now went by the name Katherine Pierce, who also happened to be the mother of the second Petrova doppelgänger, was trying to find Klaus and ultimately succeeded by getting close to a member of his inner circle. Klaus found out what she was up to and compelled her to tell him what she knew. When he learned that she was working for Katherine and that the rumors about a doppelganger in Mystic Falls were true, he decided to use her in a plan to capture Katherine and the Moonstone. Along with Klaus's trusted warlock, Maddox, Isobel made Katherine believe that Klaus was willing to pardon her if she delivered the Moonstone and the doppelganger to him. While Katherine found the Moonstone, Isobel helped Maddox capture her former husband, Alaric Saltzman. Katherine and Isobel then captured Elena at which point Isobel revealed her true colors and Maddox captured Katherine. He then ordered her to let Elena go since Klaus didn't need her yet. Maddox then transferred Klaus's spirit into Alaric's body so that he could spy on Elena and her friends.

In the Last Dance, Klaus interrogated Katherine for information about Elena and her friends and learned that a witch Bonnie Bennett could be a danger to him so he decided to kill her. Still pretending to be Alaric he attacked her at the 60's decade dance by compelling several students. Finally cornering Bonnie, he forced her to use all her power and die. He didn't realize that she had faked her death to protect herself and Elena.

In Klaus, he has Maddox, and his other minions, including Greta, bring his original body to him so that he can return to it. While they are doing so, he sets up a contingency plan by threatening Jenna's life. As Stefan stops him from killing Jenna, Klaus tells him that it would be easy for him to take his revenge if Elena tries to stop him from breaking the curse. At the same time, Elena learns from Elijah the real nature of the curse and why Klaus wanted to break it. He was then released from Alaric's body and returned to his own by Maddox and Greta.

Klaus back in his own body

Klaus goes to the Mystic Grill to remind Damon not to do anything he will regret. Damon asks if he can postpone the ritual, but Klaus says he has everything and the ritual will happen. He warns him not to screw it up if he wants to live. Klaus returns to Alaric's apartment and is immediately suspicious of Katherine. He compels her to tell him what she has been doing but, as she is taking vervain, she is able to lie. He is still suspicious and 'compels' her to take off her bracelet, walk to the window and stand in the sunlight. Katherine has to do it and screams. Eventually Klaus believes she is compelled and says she needs to do something for him. When the full moon begins to emerge Stefan and Elena arrive home but are confronted by Klaus, who tells Stefan that he had him all nervous and thought he had done something stupid. Klaus asks if Elena is ready. Stefan put his arm in front of Elena and says "No". Klaus tells him there is no reason for him to die, and he and Elena leave for the ritual.

Klaus returns to Alaric's apartment and tells Katherine that Elena is with Greta. The door flings open and Damon tells Klaus to postpone the ritual, explaining that he rescued the werewolf and vampire and killed Maddox. Klaus tells him that he knew either Damon or Stefan would try to stop him and reveals that he always has a back-up plan. He shows Damon on a webcam that he has captured Jules. Damon asks if he has a back-up vampire and Klaus says he has got it covered, before darkness falls on Damon. Katherine wakes Damon up and tells him that Klaus has gone to begin the ritual. She admits that she had to do something so Klaus wouldn't realize she was on vervain, and reveals that Klaus made her call Jenna, to lure her out explaining that he needed another vampire because Damon's blood was impure due to his werewolf bite.

Klaus appears at the quarry and begins the sacrifice by handing the moonstone over to Greta. Klaus walks over to Jules, who then tries to attack him but fails. Klaus rips out her heart then squeezes the blood into the spell. The sacrifice continues and Elena begs Klaus to let Jenna go, explaining that she doesn't have to die. Elena doesn't want to leave Jeremy without a family and points out that she did everything Klaus asked. However, Klaus realizes that Stefan has arrived and goes to speak to him on top of a cliff, who wants to replace Jenna in the sacrifice.

Klaus and Stefan return to the women and Klaus asks Elena who she wants to save and who she wants to die. However, he soon reveals that she doesn't really have a choice and stakes Stefan in the back. He explains that he has other plans for Stefan and needs him alive. Greta removes the fire from Jenna and Elena starts crying, Jenna then rushes over to bite Greta. However, Klaus stabs her, lies her down and stakes Jenna in the heart.

Klaus appears and tells Elena it's time, offering her his hand. She refuses it and walks past him to the sacrificial altar. Klaus thanks her, but she tells him to go to hell. He bites her neck and feeds from her until she falls onto the ground, lifeless. Klaus announces that he can "feel it happening" and begins to transform. Bonnie appears and throws him across the ground. Greta heads over towards them, but Damon breaks her neck.

Bonnie continues to cast the spell with Klaus yelling to the top of his lungs in pain. As he is about to.die, Elijah approaches him at which point Bonnie stops the spell. Klaus seems terrified as he sees his brother towering over him. Elijah punches through Klaus's rib cage to get to his heart as he asks him to say the names of their family. Klaus then tells him that he didn't bury them at sea and that their bodies were safe and that Elijah would never find them without him. After some consideration, Elijah saves his brother without Stefan or Bonnie being able to stop him.

A few days later wakes he up in the forest with Elijah over him. Elijah gave him some clothes and asked him where are the bodies of their family. Klaus says that he will take him to them in time. Later they go to Alaric's apartment where they find Katherine and Stefan. Stefan tells Klaus that he needs his help for Damon, and knows Klaus has a cure for Damon's Werewolf bite. Klaus suddenly stakes Elijah with the white oak ash dagger, and then he runs towards Stefan and puts a wooden stake close to his heart. Stefan then tries to make a deal with him. In the end he tells Katherine to go and give Damon his blood. Later he and Stefan go to a warehouse where he puts Elijah's body in a coffin and tells some men to put him with the others, then he tells Stefan that they will leave town after Stefan does something for him. Then a girl comes and Klaus bites her and tells her to run and then Stefan blocks her path and kills her much to Klaus' approval, after that Klaus and Stefan leave town.

Season ThreeEdit

aving a trail of bodies behind which are caused by Stefan. He ultimately finds him in Tennessee where he has Stefan kill two more girls before they corner Ray in a bar. There, Klaus tells Ray that he is a Hybrid and that he wants to create more. He has Stefan torture Ray using darts tipped in wolfsbane to force Ray to reveal the location of his pack. At this time, Klaus is warned that Damon Salvatore had gone to the house where they had killed two women. He decides to go and put Damon in his place but Stefan insists that he should go in his place. Klaus lets him. He ends up getting the location of the pack from Ray, then he finds the location of Ray's pack and ends up feeding Sutton his blood before killing him so as to turn him into a Hybrid.

In The Hybrid, Klaus and Stefan find Ray's werewolf pack in the woods. Klaus turned them all into Hybrids. When Ray bleeds through his eyes and feels pain, Klaus then discovered that there something wrong with the hybrids. Then Ray soon became rabid and fled the site. Stefan tried to stop him and was bitten. Klaus was only willing to give Stefan the cure to the fatal bite if he retrieved Ray. When the same thing happened with the other hybrids he killed some, and some died on their own When Stefan came back with Ray's dead body Klaus was angry over that he could not make Hybrids. Klaus gave Stefan his blood and left the camp with Stefan leaving the hybrids dead body's on the ground.

Klaus and Stefan in the 1920s
Fredrico 2011Added by Fredrico 2011
At the beginning of The End of the Affair, Klaus and Stefan are shown to have arrived in Chicago, where Klaus plans to meet "his favorite witch", Gloria, to find out why he can't make any new Hybrids. Stefan finds a picture of them together at the bar, and Klaus reveals they knew each other, that they had been friends back in the 1920s and that Klaus was Stefan's "number one fan", as he liked Stefan's way of making others suffer before killing them. He had erased his memories to protect themselves, as they were running from a yet unknown person. Gloria tells them that she needs Rebekah, as she has something Gloria needs. Klaus resurrects his sister, but she does not have her necklace, which can be used to contact the Original Witch.

In Disturbing Behavior, Klaus is still using Gloria to try and find the necklace used in contacting the Original Witch. Klaus later finds out that Stefan was asking about Mikael, the person that he was maybe running from in the 1920s. Klaus seems angered by this and knocks Stefan out then takes him back to Mystic falls to find out why he is still holding on to his former life.

At the beginning of The Reckoning, Klaus corners Elena, asking her why she is still alive. He takes her by the arm and leads her to the gym, chasing away the other students by telling them they're busted for pranking. Elena tells Klaus not to hurt anyone, but he argues that he has to. Rebekah drags Tyler's body into the gym, and they wait till Bonnie arrives, where Klaus tells her she has to find a way that he can successfully create hybrids.

Stefan later comes in and pledges allegiance to Klaus, but both knew it was a lie as soon as Klaus hurt Elena, and Stefan tried to stop him. Klaus then compelled Stefan not to fight him and to listen to him. He ordered him to kill the two teenagers, Dana and Chad, who Klaus had compelled to stay there. To make a game of everything, Klaus puts a clock on it: Bonnie has to find a way for him to create hybrids, or else Stefan must kill Elena.

After Stefan tried to fight the compulsion, Klaus yet again compelled him, this time with a stronger force to turn his humanity off, finally getting Stefan to obey. Presumably, Stefan attacked Elena, but somehow Klaus must have stopped him, as he figured out himself how to create a Hybrid: with the doppelganger blood. He fed Tyler the blood, and Tyler then changed into a Hybrid.

In the parking lot of the hospital, Damon comes to rescue Elena, but Klaus stops him, saying he could kill him now that his brother doesn't care. Damon tells him that Mikael knows where they are. Klaus replies that he's bluffing, but Damon informs him that they found Mikael's tomb. Klaus threw Damon against a car and vanished without a trace.

Klaus leaves town in search of werewolves he can turn into hybrids. He manages to find several, successfully turning them into hybrids.

In Homecoming, Klaus receives a call from Stefan who tells him that Mikael is dead. Thanks to the fact that Elena really did stab Mikael with a white oak dagger, Stefan is able to override Klaus's compulsion when he is forced to tell the truth. Rebekah, who has learned that Klaus had killed her mother, confirmed what they had said in an attempt to lure him back to Mystic Falls. Klaus says that he will be on his way. Klaus has Tyler throw a party to celebrate Mikael's death. After seeing who he thinks is Elena, he reveals that his hybrids are present, and they have orders to kill Damon if Klaus is killed. The party goes well, until one of his hybrids say that a guest named Mikael is waiting for him. Visibly angered, he goes to meet his step-father. Klaus attempts to have his hybrids attack Mikael, but Mikael reveals that while they are sired to Klaus, they are part vampire and can therefore be compelled by Mikael. Mikael reveals that he had one of the hybrids grab 'Elena' and threatened to kill her if Klaus didn't come outside of the Lockwood house.

Klaus tries to call Mikael's bluff, but Mikael stabs her. To everyone's shock, it wasn't Elena at all, but Katherine, who throws wolfsbane grenades at the hybrids and runs.

Damon then appears and attacks Klaus with the white oak stake. However, Stefan interrupts the battle, pulling Damon off of Klaus.

Klaus grabs the stake and drives it through Mikael's heart, killing him and destroying the stake in the process. When Damon asks Stefan what he was doing, it is Klaus who answers by saying that Stefan was earning his freedom, he then gives Stefan his freedom. Klaus then left. Unaware of his sister's role in the murder attempt, he tries to call her saying that is time to go, but is unable to reach her (do to Elena daggering her). Stefan then calls and reveals that he stole the coffins with Klaus' siblings, who Klaus intended to revive now that Mikael was dead. Klaus threatens to kill Stefan and anyone Stefan ever met, but Stefan merely replies that if he does, he will never see his family again.

In The New Deal he builds himself and his hybrids a house to stay at Mystic Falls. He meets Damon and Elena at the Grill wants to know where Rebekah is. He leaves, saying to Elena she should find Stefan. He calls Jeremy and tells him to go outside on the street and not to move. He intended to kill Jeremy by a car accident. To save Jeremy's life, Elena made a deal with Klaus. She shows him where Rebekah was and he spares Jeremy's life. He leaves with Rebekah, after Elena told him that she knows he killed Esther. Back home Rebekah slowly recovers but Klaus stabs her again with the White Oak Ash Dagger, killing her.

s. Later, Klaus attended the Founder's Council Feast and tries to convince the Mayor that his hybrids would protect the town, successfully. After Damon received a phone call from Stefan that he has Elena and is trying to turn her into a vampire, he goes to talk to Klaus. Klaus thinks Stefan bluffs but calls Stefan. Hearing that Stefan has Elena fed his blood, he promises to get his hybrids out of Mystic Falls. After Tyler accidentally bit Caroline he went to Klaus asking him for help. Klaus goes to the Forbes place to heal Caroline. Liz invites him in and he has a intimate conversation with Caroline about being a vampire. Eventually, he feeds Caroline his bloods and says "Happy Birthday". After Caroline woke up, Klaus has left but she finds an expensive bracelet made of dozens of diamonds. A gift from Klaus.

In The Ties That Bind Klaus is seen in one of Bonnie's dreams as she tried to open the locked coffin. Back in present time Stefan went to Klaus and talks to him. Klaus states that he wants his family back, now that his Hybrids left town. It is revealed that he ordered Daniel Warren to the house of Abby Bennett as he called him later. When Damon went to the Abandoned Cottage, Klaus came and gets tortured by the spirits of the dead witches. As he threatens to kill all witches they stop hurting him. He then commands them to show him the coffins and they do. Just the fourth one is missing. He asked Damon where the last one is and he threatens to rip out his heart but he doesn't get an answer. After all coffins were moved to his house, Klaus had to go to finish some business but is surprised by Elijah, un-daggered earlier by Damon, standing in front of him after he killed a hybrid.

in Bringing Out The Dead, Elijah attacks Klaus for having locked him in the coffin but Klaus overpowers him and, having pulled the dagger out of their brother Kol, threatens to use it on him. Elijah retorts that he would have to deal with Kol then. Klaus resigns himself to that fact and tells Elijah that Mikael was dead. Surprised to hear of his father's death, Elijah asks why their family remains in the coffins. Klaus asks Elijah to help him to get the fourth coffin back from Stefan by reminding him of the oath that they had sworn to one another: 'always and forever'. Elijah then organizes a dinner between Klaus and Stefan with Damon present. The deal offered by the brothers is that, in exchange for the coffin, Klaus will leave Mystic Falls forever, a deal that Elijah deems to be fair. Klaus later counters with his own offer: Elena's future happiness with a human husband (Matt Donovan) in exchange for the coffin; this would keep her safe from what he deemed to be feuding between the Salvatore brothers and would ensure the continuity of the Petrova bloodline so that he could keep creating hybrids. Stefan refuses the deal. Klaus then grabs him and burns his hand in the flames while Elijah prevents Damon from intervening. Klaus tells Damon to bring him the coffin or he will kill Stefan. Damon complies and Klaus sends Elijah with him. However, Elijah and Damon returns after wards not with the coffin but with the daggers that Elijah had removed from their siblings. Elijah claims to have learned not to trust Klaus's promises and declares that this while be done on his terms. Kol then appears followed by Finn who stabs Klaus in the hand after he tries to seize the dagger. As Klaus tries to run, Rebekah appears and stabs him for 'their mother'. Klaus stumbles back and is caught by Kol. Elijah dismisses Damon and Stefan, claiming that it was 'family business.' Esther then appears and tells the originals to stop fighting. She tells Klaus to look at her and asks if he knows why she is here. When Klaus suggests that she is probably there to kill him, she says she is there to forgive him, and that she wants them all to be a family again.

The next day, Esther organizes a ball to celebrate the reunion of their family and asks Klaus who he is going to bring to the ball, stating it's going to be a magical evening. So Klaus sent an invitation and a ball dress as a present to Caroline with a note to dance with him. She appears wearing the dress and the bracelet he left in her room on her birthday. She later dances the waltz with him, asking her

how she is after Bill died. He makes a complements about her dancing skills which she commented with having had some training. They are later seen outside, standing next to a horse. Klaus states that he had a horse but it got killed by Mikael. He also stated that the relationship with his father was really complex as Caroline's was with Bill. She then goes inside because she likes people too. They then go inside the house where Klaus reveals that he likes drawing, having drawn many people and also a landscape which is now hanging in the house. He asks if she has been somewhere and that he could take anywhere she wants. Caroline then says it must be good if he gets everything he wants. She thinks that's the reason he creates hybrids and wants him to give Tyler his life back. She also states that he compels people, he sires hybrids or buys affections to make friends and she is not the girl he can buy off. Angered, she leaves and Klaus is alone.

The next day he is with Kol in the house. Rebekah comes home from her one night stand while Klaus is drawing pictures (presumably of Caroline). Kol states he's bored so he and Nik go outside. They head to the Grill where they meet Alaric and Meredith Fell. As a distraction, planned by Damon, Caroline enters the pub but isn't pleased to see Klaus. He follows her outside, wanting to talk about her. She sits down and talks with him. After Kol got neutralized, Klaus feels something and immediately recognizes something must have happened, getting angry at Caroline because he suspected her. He rushes to Kol, pulls the dagger out and threatens to kill the Salvatore's, but is stopped by Elijah. Together with Kol and Elijah he goes to the Witch Burial Ground. He orders her to end this and he'll send her back to hell. She responds she hated it to see how he shed blood. After she left with Finn, Klaus is seen burning the pictures he draw of Caroline. Rebekah enters, stating she hated him as she found out that he killed Esther, but Klaus is the only one who has never left her. She then delivers shocking news. Klaus learns that a sapling of the White Oak Tree has been planted 300 years after they left the Old World.

In The Murder of One, Klaus and Rebekah join forces to get Finn on their side by reuniting him with Sage. He then gets Bonnie to undo Esther's linking spell. He first tries to bribe Bonnie by offering to reunite her with her mother, but when Bonnie refuses, he instead threatens to kill Jeremy. Klaus watches as Rebekah tortures Damon, but they stop when Stefan comes by and offers to trade his White Oak Stakes for Damon's freedom. Klaus then learns that there are more White Oak Stakes and that one of them was used to kill Finn.

In Heart of Darkness, Klaus tires to get the last remaining White Oak Stake, and sends Kol to stop Damon and Elena from learning of their bloodline origin. He gets impatient and eventually kills Alaric, but soon enough, he sends Rebekah to retrieve it, not knowing that Rebekah is possessed by Esther.

In Do Not Go Gentle, Esther convinces Klaus to go the 1920s dance by telling him that Caroline will be there. Klaus shares a dance with Caroline. When Rebekah is absent from the dance, Stefan informs Klaus that Esther is back. After Esther is killed, Klaus states that Esther will never be able to stop him.

In Before Sunset , Klaus is informed by Rebekah that Alaric survived, and that the white oak stake has no effect on him. Rebekah wishes to leave, but Klaus states that he will no leave without Elena, causing Rebekah to get angry and state that she won't care even if he does die, before leaving. Klaus then goes to Elena's house to collect her, however Stefan and Damon bar his way. He begins attacking the house from the outside, trying to force them to invite him in, but the manage to repel him. Just as he is about to cause the place to explode, Stefan comes out and says that Alaric has captured both Elena and Caroline and will only give them up if Klaus hands himself over. Klaus initially refuse, but Bonnie comes up with a plan that will allow them to actually succeed. He then agrees, but makes it clear that after this he is taking Elena and leaving. He waits in front of the school-where Alaric has Caroline and Elena-with Stefan and the two talk, Klaus trying to drive a wedge between the brothers again.

When Stefan states that all of Klaus' attempts to break the Salvatore brothers apart has only made their bond stronger, Klaus counters by asking what will happen when Elena finally chooses between them. Then, Bonnie, Damon and Jeremy show up. Bonnie gives the vampires a vile of her blood, saying that once they drink it, all they have to do is make a connection with Alaric's heart, and she will use her magic to stop it, effectively neutralized him. After drinking the blood, Klaus enters the school with the Salvatores. He comes across Caroline and grabs her, keeping her quiet and telling her that she will be fine, and that she must get home as soon as possible, she thanks him then runs. Stefan and Damon restrain Alaric, and Klaus plunges his fingers into his heart, but Alaric manages to get free, break Stefan and Damon's necks and nearly drove his white oak stake through Klaus' heart. Ironically, Elena saved Klaus by threatening to kill herself, deducing that Esther bound Alaric's life to hers so that he could only live one life time. As she prepared to follow through with her threat Alaric went to stop her, freeing Klaus, who then ran off with her.

He then began draining Elena of all her blood, that way gaining enough blood to at least have some hybrids, while also killing off the greatest threat to him. When Elena asks why he is killing her, as he won't have an unlimited army anymore, he states that he doesn't need one as he has his family back. Elena counters saying that they will never truly trust him again, and that he is wants a back up family, which is why he is draining her blood instead of simply snapping her neck. Later, Tyler shows up and tries to free her, but Klaus finds him before he

can get Elena out of the house. He asks how Tyler broke the sire bond, and Klaus states that that is impossible, Tyler countering by saying that true love is more important than sire bond induced loyalty. Klaus states that Tyler should be thanking him as he saved Tyler from the misery of life as a werewolf, but Tyler says that Klaus doesn't give a crap about him,he only wanted to not be alone. Klaus then prepares to kill him, but Stefan and Damon arrive. Tyler and Damon restrain Klaus, while Stefan plunges his hand into Klaus' chest, and Bonnie begins her spell again. Klaus looks at Stefan with a mixture of sadness and shock as his life fades away. He is then completely dessicated, and his dead body falls to the floor. Everyone then holds a victory party, and Stefan and Damon later drive off with the purpose of disposing of Klaus' corpse.

RelationshipsEdit

Events Influenced By Klaus' goal of breaking the CurseEdit

  • Katherine turning into a vampire to avoid being sacrificed. (Katerina)
  • The moonstone coming into George Lockwood's possession. (Memory Lane)
  • Caroline being turned into a vampire. (The Return)
  • Rose and Trevor kidnapping Elena so they could get their freedom. (Masquerade, Rose)
  • Elijah meeting the Petrova Doppelganger. Rose granted freedom while Trevor was decapitated. (Rose)
  • Isobel's return to Mystic falls (under compulsion of Klaus) and with the help of Maddox, They retrieve the moonstone, Katherine, and Alaric. After Isobel's job was finished she was compelled by Klaus to take off her necklace and burn to death in the sunlight. (The House Guest, Know Thy Enemy)

Personality and TraitsEdit

While a human, Klaus had a complicated life, he was close with his brothers Elijah and Henrik, and his sister Rebekah whom he affectionately called Beka. However, he had a strained relationship with his father, Mikael, who was harder on him than on any of his siblings. Klaus even admitted to Rebekah that Mikael frightened him which made him constantly seek his approval without ever finding it. His mother, Esther, often tried to calm Mikael when he became angry with Klaus but she never tried to stop him from humiliating her son. This led him to resent both his parents and possibly to be jealous of his siblings for having their approval. Personality wise, Klaus is described as sadistic, careless, impulsive, emotional, quick-tempered, volatile, manipulative, jealous, obsessive and competitive. Klaus has little to no regard for human life in general, the polar opposite of his half brother, Elijah, who lives by a moral compass, has compassion and regard for human life and shows ability to feel guilt and remorse for his actions.

Unbeknownst to any, Klaus was not the son of Mikael but of a werewolf in another village which made Klaus both aggressive and angry. When they became vampires, all these emotions were heightened and Klaus's temper became worse than ever. Years of humiliation at Mikael's hands and Esther's supposed indifference, coupled with her rejection of him as her son, led Klaus to kill his own mother in revenge. After this, Klaus shut off his humanity to any but his family, killing any who crossed his path. Vengeful and power-hungry, he will stop at nothing to achieve his ends and remove those who stand in his way.

However, Klaus does not believe that death is a punishment as seen when he denies Katherine death, instead keeping her alive so that she will suffer for having betrayed him. He will also place usefulness before pleasure and keeps people alive when it suits his needs. He has also shown a penchant for working with witches which was mentioned by Katherine in Know Thy Enemy. Klaus also has a sense of honor and will not go back on his word although, like his brother Elijah, he will always look for loopholes in the deals he makes. He has also shown a sadistic side notably when he deals with humans or people who have crossed him, such as Elena, Damon and Katherine.

However, Klaus's hunger for power actually hides a deep fear of being alone which must stem from his father's treatment of him. He wants the hybrids so that he will not be the sole member of his race as Esther intended when she placed the curse on him. He also desires, beyond anything else, to be reunited with friends and family as shown by his desire to have Stefan, his one-time friend, and his family back at his side.

AlliesEdit

  • Gloria - She was a powerful, 116 year old witch, and also the owner of a bar. Unlike vampires, Gloria is not immortal. Despite her charmingly good looks, and forty-year old appearance, Gloria is the only witch ever known to discover a spell that could decrease the speed of human age. She was killed by Katherine.
  • Greta Martin - She was a witch. Jonas' daughter and Luka's sister. She is first mentioned in The House Guest by Luka. She is kept by Klaus and that is the reason Jonas and Luka join Elijah in his quest to retrieve the Moonstone but she is present with Maddox in the Alaric´s house and she says she is happy for see Klaus (Alaric´s body). In the episode The Last Day, Greta mentioned she was never "lost" (abducted), it makes clear that her intentions were always to help Klaus. She is killed by Damon.
  • Maddox - He was a warlock and he's working with Klaus. He is first seen in Know Thy Enemy. He was killed in The Last Day by Damon and Matt.
  • Hybrids - Hybrids are loyal to Klaus and will seek his acceptance because his blood created them.

ServantsEdit

  • Isobel Flemming - She was a vampire. Isobel is an expert researcher and Elena's mother. She manages to contact Klaus but when she finds him, Klaus compels her to gather information about Mystic Falls (Katherine, Elena, Stefan, Damon, Bonnie, etc.). Unfortunately, he compels her to commit suicide by exposing herself to the sunlight when her job was done.
  • Stefan Salvatore - After Damon was bitten by a werewolf, Stefan seeks Klaus to find a cure. During the meeting Stefan with Klaus, Klaus reveals the cure is the Klaus´s blood but Klaus manipulates Stefan to serve or else he would not give the cure. Klaus forces Stefan to drink countless bags of human blood as he wanted to awaken Stefan's ripper side. In the end, despite the attempts he had made in the second season to control his blood lust, Stefan gave in to the blood and killed a young girl at Klaus's order. A pleased Klaus then told Stefan that they would be leaving town that night.

EnemiesEdit

  • Mikael - Mikael was searching for Klaus and Rebekah in Gloria's bar and asked Stefan if he knew either of them and where they might be, but under Klaus' compulsion, he says he has never seen them in his life.
  • Trevor - He was a vampire and a very close friend of Rose. He was killed by Elijah for betraying him by helping Katherine escape from Klaus during the 15th century.
  • Rose-Marie - She was a vampire and a very close friend of Trevor, she and Trevor tried to stay hidden from Klaus in the 15th century and have both been running from him ever since. Rose also helped to turn Katherine into a vampire. She now insists on helping both Damon and Stefan to help protect Elena from Klaus and from being in danger. Rose is staked by Damon to keep her from suffering from a werewolf bite.
  • Elena Gilbert - Elena decides to surrender to Klaus to prevent any of her loved ones from suffering. During the sacrifice, she agrees to help Klaus to break the curse, with the hope that Elijah and Bonnie could destroy him but in the end, Elijah betrays Elena and the others escaped with Klaus.
  • Damon Salvatore - Damon wants to protect Elena and Stefan from Klaus, causing him to work with Mason Lockwood and Katerina Petrova to destroy the Originals, once and for all.
  • Katerina Petrova - Klaus had her under his control, for the purpose of destroying the curse. Klaus finds Katerina in England after being exiled from Bulgaria. Katerina says that Klaus was kind, gentle and caring with her but then she learns that she will be used in a sacrifice and escapes with the moonstone.
  • Witches - Witches despise Klaus, probably more than any other creature. Klaus' mother has even broken the door to the other-side just to foil his plans.

Changes from the BooksEdit

In the books, Klaus is of unknown age, but is at least from the Bronze Age. He seems to have fought in every major war through time, most notably in Alexander the Great's army, in the Trojan War, and in the wars that led to the Roman Empire's downfall (on the Germanic side). He then decided to stick around the general area of Germany where, sometime in the 15th century. In the books, Klaus was the one who transformed Katherine into a vampire, in the TV series, it ended up being Rose who played the part, and Klaus and Katherine's back stories have been completely changed from the books. Klaus shows great strength and durability at all times of injury and other vampires feared law. For example: Klaus manipulates the mind of Katherine to inform the brothers Salvatore's that he is dead (Katherine kills Klaus centuries ago, because he is no longer useful). Klaus continually avoids Elena messages or visions to Bonnie and Stefan. A vampire must be invited by someone to enter your home, but Klaus enters Vicki's house and violently murdered her without one. Stefan and Damon fight against Klaus, but do not do any harm. In the books, when everyone tries to fight against Klaus, all of the weapons used against him fail. Klaus more or less kills Stefan, and nearly kills Damon as well, until an intervention from Elena's spirit, leading an army's worth of unquiet Civil War ghosts against him. The ghosts carry a screaming Klaus away, and his current whereabouts (and state of being) are unknown.

It was later revealed that when he had attacked Meredith's grandfather before the books started, he had in fact been trying to capture Meredith and her twin brother Cristian. He failed to capture Meredith who became half-human, half-vampire as a result, but got Cristian who became a vampire himself. In the series, he supposedly captured Greta Martin.

TriviaEdit

  • In the Books, the character of Klaus was partially based on Rutger Hauer's character (John Ryder) in the 1986 movie The Hitcher.
    • John Ryder "The Hitcher": It is not clear where he came from, who he is or what his motivation is, but the one thing that is known is that his name is John Ryder. He has a sadistic drive for killing everyone and anyone he comes across. From what it seems, he is suicidal and he's on the look out for someone to do the task for him.
  • Klaus is the Original with the most appearances thus far: 23
  • In the books, Klaus seems to have fought in every major war through time (Alexander the Great's army, in the Trojan War, and in the wars that led to the Roman Empire's downfall).
  • In the series, Katherine meets Klaus in England but in the books, Klaus remains in Germany for centuries where Katherine is turned into a vampire.
  • Klaus seriously affects the life of Katherine in the books and the series. In the books, Klaus controls the mind of Katherine and makes insane, cruel, sadistic, cold, unstable, murders, etc. In the series, Katherine was not transformed by Klaus and was never his student but she is damaged by the abandonment of her daughter, the death of her entire family and the terror of The Originals.
  • Klaus was said to be the oldest vampire in the history of time in season 2, but it was revealed that Mikael was actually the oldest vampire.
    • Klaus was revealed to not actually be a full vampire, but instead a half-vampire, half-werewolf hybrid.
  • Klaus takes the Originals resting place everywhere he goes, but keeps them well hidden at the same time.
  • In the books, Klaus is weak against the Spirits (Ghosts), because he can´t attack them. In the series, he is also somewhat weak against spirits since it's the power of the dead witches that Bonnie is using to destroy him.
  • In the books, Klaus was the one who killed Vicki where as, in the series Vicki was turned into a vampire by Damon and then staked by Stefan.
  • He and Stefan are the only characters to have permanently killed another main character (Jenna and Vicki respectably).
  • In the books, never established if Klaus has a ring to walk in the day.
  • In the books, Klaus has his first and last battle against Elena, Stefan, Damon, Bonnie, Meredith, Matt and Caroline on the 31st of October. After that, the whereabouts of Klaus and his condition remains a mystery.
  • Klaus, Isobel, Rose and Katerina are the only characters thus far to have an episode named after them with Klaus being the fourth and first male.
  • Klaus was introduced to Katherine Pierce on his birthday.
  • In the books, Klaus is an Old One and the oldest of all vampires but in the series, Klaus is a Original/Hybrid and the oldest living Werewolf.
  • In the book The Return: Midnight mentions that Klaus had Meredith's twin brother (Cristian). In the series, Greta takes the place of Cristian when she's kidnapped by Klaus.
  • In the series, Klaus shares similarities with Markus Corvinus of the Underworld film series.
  • Klaus manages to break the curse using four women of different species: Greta (witch), Jenna (vampire), Jules (werewolf) and Elena (doppelganger).
  • In the series he corrupted Stefan like he corrupted Katherine in the books.
  • Klaus is the first recurring role to be updated to series regular during their sophomore season Season 3.
  • Klaus, besides Damon Salvatore, has killed the most characters in the series but most of Klaus's kills were off-screen.
  • Klaus made the insinuation that Elena, Jenna and Jules are goddesses (Maiden, Mother and Crone) for the sacrifice.
  • Klaus and Tyler are the only living main characters who has never been bitten by a vampire.
  • In 1492, Klaus had all the elements to break the curse of the sun and the moon, but Katherine manages to escape with the Moonstone.
  • In the books, Klaus was never human, but a pure blooded vampire, and was very very old in age. In the show he was once human and far younger in age than the books.
  • Rebekah assumes that Klaus' reasoning for making hybrids is due to his fear of being alone.
  • In Homecoming Klaus says "I will kill you and every one, you've ever met" to Stefan, this is how Katherine describes him when he's betrayed or angry. She tells this to Elena and Stefan in Katerina and Damon in The Last Day.
  • Klaus is a Beatles fan as he said in The Last Dance, claiming that they made the 60s bearable.
  • Of all the Originals, Klaus can be considered the most vindictive and spiteful.
  • Klaus was technically killed in The Departed by Alaric Saltzman, but thanks to Bonnie Bennett he is now in Tyler Lockwood's body.

  • i hope Klaus back to his body in season 4..when alaric and tyler play klaus it was suck....they cant play cahir like klaus joseph morgan make klaus chair diffrent than any body

  • http://entertainment.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474981334502 looks like season 4 might be focus on klaus .......again!

  • I'm worried about Klaus' storyline in season 4.. I'm scared they're going to turn him into a shell of his former self.. I mean reading the spoilers it seems that the season is going to revolve around the fact that he's lost the possibility of using Elena's blood? Seriously? TIme to move on writers. Give the guy another storyline, he can't go on much longer with this doppelganger thing.

    • in my opinion they shouldve just had the originals pick up his body and leave in the finale, and once he finds out that elena is a vampire, he is either gonna find a way to undo it and make her human again or just use what blood he has to make his remaining hybrids or he will leave to find his real family, but honestly i cant see that much klaus for season 4 unless they decide to pull the he is possessing tyler thing all season long, but that might get old

  • klefan come back!

  • Now is the time for a new villan, forcing Damon and Stefen to team up and protect Klaus being that they are from his blood line.

  • Its funny how we all try to talk about Klaus and what will happen to Klaus but most of the spoilers for season 4 focusses on what will happen to Elena when she has turned into vampire. I hate to say all other stories including Klaus's will be precipitated or revolve around Elena turning into Vampire. All will then go against Rebekah I hope someone will come for her rescue.

  • '“'How the heck will Klaus feel about losing the doppelganger now that Elena is apparently going to be a vampire on The Vampire Diaries? — Sarah
NATALIE: We’ll let executive producer Julie Plec take this one: “The loss of the doppelganger is gonna be a BFD for Klaus and will drive his actions for the season. Suddenly he’s vulnerable for many reasons. There’s a stake that can kill him, a witch that can desiccate him, and no way to build up the hybrid army he needs — psychologically, at least — to feel safe. Plus, Caroline’s going to be peeved at him once she realizes he bamboozled her. In other words, he ain’t gonna be so happy.

    http://www.tvguide.com/News/MegaBuzz-Bones-Greys-Anatomy-HIMYM-1047553.aspx

so klaus still be the main villain in s4??? i hope he dont get mad with rebekah..

    • I really hope they introduced some bigger villain and Klaus should realised that making hybrids is not the most important issue for his existence but anyways....iIts not always what I want. ..

@ Darkmagic Yes he will be pissed with Rebekah. Julie P has confirmed it in other interview. Infact everyone in MF.

    • im kinda curious if he will look to cure elena of her vampirism, possibly have bonnie use that spell esther was going to use in all my children to turn her family into humans

  • niklaus y u no fancy sombody else

  • i like klaus joseph morgan some one plz tell he will back in his own body in season 4 or not?

    • yes he will, from my understanding, according to spoiler interviews, bonnie put a protective spell on his body to prevent him from dying and also did a spell for him to possess tyler while the whole world thinks he is dead.

    • ^ I agree with Tommy, the problem is when will he come back in his own body? Micheal T. is also main cast so they will try to give him enough screentime while he play Klaus.

I hope it last for not more than 2 episodes with Micheal playing Klaus.

    • Logically I dont understand why he wouldnt stay in his body the entire time. They all think he is dead, and Klaus can be like a undercover spy and see what people really think of him and manipulate caroline into being his, also it might be possible he looks for a cure for vampirism to turn elena back into a human to finish his work on the hybrids or use what blood he does have on them

    • ^I understand this logic but if Klaus remains in Tyler's body entire time, it will mean that Tyler is dead or he will never get to live. Knowing that Bonnie is Tyler's and Caroline's friend I doubt she will let this happen.

    • Speaking of Tyler..is the "big storyline that will involve Tyler" the fact that he is in Klaus' body? LOL it would be major trolling for him. I mean the one time that he has a relevant storyline is when he's playing someone else. Actually I don't think Plec was referring to this, since Klaus will go back to his body pretty soon. Though, it would be fun if this was the storyline they were referring to.

    • i think jp referring to this storyline because they release this "tyler big storyline s4" spoiler was before episode 3x21 so that mean they must plan this for episode 4x01..

      poor tyler.....

  • I ship Klaus and fence..lol

    by Tonet18
  • the vampires can turned to hybrids or not ? (please help)

  • now they gonna remove jomo as klaus and put micheal trevino???

  • Review: Klaus’ desiccation scene in 3x21 episode was really well put together and highlighted a notably good acting job by Morgan. Klaus has been such a powerful and violent character that seeing his essence slowly drain from him, and the look of surprise and fear in his bulging eyes, was almost sad in a bizarre way.

“I think before Klaus arrived, the element that was missing - although Damon has it to a certain extent - was the really playful element, the guy who’s not afraid of anything, the Hannibal Lecter kind of crazy scary, presented with a quiet calm,” Morgan said.

agree with joseph, for me s1 was boring..i watch every episode really quick and never bother to re-watch it again. but when the originals came into the show,i feel addicted to the show. I re watch their scene countless times in youtube.

this review start to worrying me to see trevino play klaus in next season. can he really do it? I hope julie will re consider this storyline and if possible, just change klaus quickly to jomo back in 4x01..please dont drag it too long~

    • Yeah I agree with Morgan to some extent though Hannibal Lector was disgustingly scary. He used to eat human brain while human still alive.Ewwww. I am glad TVD avoids that level of psychopathy from the show and focus on action and drama.

I can't take Klaus seriously if he stays in Tyler's body for long. But at the same time I understand writers will reintroduce him back on the show when we will expect the least. Till then we can sulk and moan.. lol

    • i think only joseph morgan fits the klaus no one else so we want joseph morgan back as klaus no other

  • Its nice video. Tribute to Klaus M. I like this music so maybe thats one of the reasons I like it more. Plus it adds all the scenes of Klaus so far. It seems the videomaker doesn't like Tyler potraying Klaus so there are also some changes there.

    ►Klaus Requiem For a Dream
  • I hope when he returns in his body, he'll be weak during an episode and has lost his memories for two or three episodes. I hope Elijah and Rebekah will help him, though.

  • when bonnie make deal with klaus is the deal she save his body or make him poses tyler

  • when iwatched the last episode i didnt think that klaus will die for good i mean real klaus now.. tyler will be klaus ??? really fuck that if y wanna kepp klaus char..why the hell y killed the reall klaus body joseph morgan is more better acctor than michal trvnoi....

  • god this season was awful, good thing it is over, i swear if i had to watch another episode of them trying to kill klaus but failing miserably so that they can try again, i would go mad .Thank god true blood is coming back. that show is far superiour. this show is basicly a pg-13 version of true blood.

and the bad writing on this show makes me want to shoot myself. i dont why i am even watching it. its like a car wreck you know its horrible but you just cant stop watching. lets look at the finale for instance: elijah a 1000 year old original vampire apoliges to elena (an 18 year old ex- chearleader) for saving his family after she and her friends tried to murder him and his entire family and matt the murderer of his brother(how the hell did he manage to do that anyway?) stood there with his smug face condesending elijah.

then we have matt crying like a lunatic for tylers death. why is he crying for tyler? tyler fucked his sister, his mom and his girlfriend(caroline)and i believe at one point in the series kicked his ass in a fight.

and how the hell was alaric the newly turned orginal ass-raping rebecca the 1000 year original. i know he is supposed to be stronger and all because of the spell esther used but common at least make it look like a struggle.

then there is the klaus body swap, seriously when klaus body was destroyed everybody in his blood line should have died and i dont care in whose ass his soul was buried at the time

oh and why couldn't stefan use his vampire speed and strenght under water to save elena and matt. things are lighter under water you know!

and this is just the horrible writing in the finale ( i am sure i missed someting) i could compile a list like this for basicly every episode of this show.

writing like this makes me glad that true blood is coming back. no that show isnt perfect either but with only 12 episodes a season, a higher budget, benefit of being broadcast on the great channel of hbo plus having much better actors to work with ( denis o hare's acting alone as russel edginton in season 3 of true blood was better then the acting of all the actors of this show put together) makes true blood the far superiour show

    • Here's an idea...if you are just going to complain, GO AWAY. The vampire diaries does have good writing, and I think it is rude to obviously watch every week and then complain about the writers...can you write something better?

The vampire diaries does have good actors; Nina Dobrev is able to play two completely different characters at ease. Many of the character have pulled body swaps or be possessed, and the actors are able to switch into being another character. So if you don't like the show, don't watch it.

considering the many spelling and grammer mistakes in those few paragraphs, you have no right to be complaining of someone else's writing.

    • Here's is an other idea why dont you go fuck yourself. I only stated my opinion about this show but instead of making an argument you decided to attack me. I may make grammar and spelling mistakes but that is because english is not my first, not my second but my third language. Do you speak any other language than english? i didn't think so. you are obviously a teenage fangirl with a klaus picture on your wall. you wouldn't know a good show if it hit you in the face. instead of feeling insulted, that i was mean to your show, maybe you should have actually read what i said. because if you did, there is no way you could have made the statement about this show having good writers. now go play with your self.

    • try not to be rude guys,we dont need a fight going on here, but even u wikia contributor, whoever u are is smart enough to know the difference between tb and tvds vamps and wolves and know which are superior which are tvd. But yes Im also excited for new season of true blood along with roman and the authority along with the return of russell and i hope they give us russell vs roman, even if its super quick confrontation like russell and the magister, but I do agree with u that this season didnt live up to standards. In my opinion, season 2 is my favorite but even that was alot about killing klaus and every other episode that they tried to kill him made millions of fans adore him, and im sure if i got into a conversation to julie and any other klaus hater why klaus isnt a true villian and why you wasted a whole season trying to kill them, they be so butthurt and would have no idea what to say, they be speechless

    • I agree with everything you said , i started watching true blood after season 2 of the vampire diaries ended ,and i was buffled at how good it is, while i was watching season four i went back and watched the passed three season and to make a long story short , after the end of season four of true blood it was hard to watch vampire diaries , am not even being rude , or joking , IT WAS HARD TO WATCH, eventually i got used to it , i agree with TVD does not hold a tourch to true blood , but TVD during the winter(and spring) and true blood during the summer and fall is better than no TVD at all

  • I found it pretty pathetic that Tyler was able to catch his arm, twist it, and break it -_-

    by TRU-st
    • maybe Klaus should cut off tylers arm before he'll leave his body .:) Revenge!!

    • thats one of the biggest faults of this season, making weaker vampires look more powerful than ancient stronger ones. And its not just in tvd cause they do that in other media as well. At no point should a weaker vampire be able to dominate something like an original. An original is a god vampire, and they're arent many god vampires in vampire media, and then u have:

Stefan tackle down rebekah and klaus

      damon snap kols neck

      tyler break klaus arm

      matt(not a vampire) kill finn

i mean its like wtf! and the reasoning was so stupid and selfish, if they wouldve been left alone, everything wouldve been fine, but they had to get "revenge" because they think they are "better" than them. Man I wish I could point out julie, kevin, whoever makes these awful original killing scenes and point out the faults in them, the writer would get so butthurt, so butthurt

    • Honestly, it is terrible writing. The originals are suppose to be the gods of vampires. They are the strongest and most feared. Yet the way the show writes them make them look like punk ass vampires.

If they are going to make the main characters challenge the Originals, then at least make it believable. Who in their right mind wouldn't try to kill/ end someone who continously tries to kill them and their family? The fact that neither Kol. Klaus or Rebekah has killed any of the main characters are ridiculous. The reason the main 3 are not dead is because they ARE the main 3, and that is bad writing.

I cringed so much when Klaus was caught by 3 young vampires. Seriously, TVD is getting sloppy. I loved season 2 though. How can they show Katherine to be so powerful yet make the originals look so lame?!

    • remember people tyler is half werewolf, and a werewolf get extra strenght when they get mad

    • That's like a lizard getting mad at an alligator. It shouldn't matter how angry you get! Originals are supposed to be the baddest vampires for a reason

    • I agree with all of you! The main cast or what me and some posters call them scoobies are boring and rubbish. Giving them power makes the show very doggy. The respect of originals and their aura should've been maintained throughout the season. In a 'Klaus free' party. Matt was patting Tylers back that he took down original brother number 2. LOL .

Is it some kind of a joke?

    • Rebekah did an awesome job by taking down Matt and Elena at once. Still some of them are hating for doing so.

    • and also another example of terrible writing was when katherine was on a rampage in mystic falls and they didnt celebrate or try to kill her after that, it was like one attempt and it was over, and i dont want to pick on my kit kat, im just saying logically if u are gonna try and take out the originals, then do the same to her

    • Yeah but Kat started to help Salvatores in saving Elena and Killing Klaus mission. Anyone who start doing that no longer called as villain of the show.Thats the rule.

Anyone succking up to Elena and Co. are forgivable.

I agree its pathetic rule of the show! but writers are going with it.

    • @tvdaddict so true.. everyone who kiss her ass is forgiven. ughh

    • i loved how rebekah told elena how incredibly annoying it was that everyone tries to save elena, cause im pretty sure not that many people go out of their way to save someone else when in danger, its like from NBCs heroes, when everyone tried to save claire, even though she was indestructible and didnt feel pain, bad writing, bad

  • so klause is so popular

    hi is number 1

    nr 2 i think damon

3 bonnie omg the need a spin off about those 3

  • I love Joseph Morgan's acting! He can go from evil and devious hybrid Klaus to sweet and "I fancy caroline" Klaus. Each emotions shows very clearly, and who isn't willing to listen to him talk all day?! I really hope his character will be back in his own body.... Tyler just won't do it for me...

    • Joseph Morgan is a trained actor, and it shows ... I have nothing against Michael Trevino but I think it's a fact his performance and acting skills are very limited ...

    • As much as I HATE the fact that JoMo won't be in the first episode or two of the next season, it will be super interesting to see the "Tyler" and Caroline scenes!

    • the fool writers they killed joseph morgan and prefer micheal trevno to play klaus???????????????fuck thattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

    • They killed him because they needed SOMETHING that isn't predictable cause lets face it, putting klaus in tyler's body was the only thing that we were all like WTF towards. It's ok I'm pretty sure they'll bring him back.

  • Klaus annoys me quite a bit now. He was a good villain at the start, he was what the show needed, a fearful villain that made everyone shudder at his name, but now he has become annoying. It seems that his immortality has been shoved in our face. Every time something trys to harm him or kill him he survives, and now he can't die otherwise the main prontagonists die, leaving us with no show. Also, it seems like he is the boss. As if he is mocking everyone. He can just go around killing people. He was good but he has become a bit TOO imortal. Everything should have it's life limit and Klaus should die sometime in the next season I think, and bonnie should find a way to sever the bloodline so all the main vamps dont die, to move on from originals and move to another monster/supernatural animal.

    • first off, there can still be a show with him and the protagonists, and bonnie aint gonna sever the bloodline, thats why it was put in the show in the first place to keep them safe, honestly i think klaus will keep tylers body, have fun with it, get exposed or just leave it and leave with his family now that elena is a vampire unless he tries to spend all season to make elena into a human, kinda like what esther was trying to do to them in all my children, but i think he will come to the realiziation of his family and leave with them and be brought back when needed

    • KLaus is not antagonist anymore. he is somethin in between . :))

    • he is a tweener, both good and evil, same goes for damon, katherine and john yet their is a huge klaus hater behind the scenes that makes him look like the most evil thing since satan himself when that clearly isnt the case

  • It would be interesting if the writers did a background on Klaus' father. Since he was a werewolf, it would be interesting if he was an ancestor of Tyler and that Tyler and Klaus are actually related through the werewolf bloodline (Lockwoods) from back-in-the-day. Since the Vampire Diaries often show lineage like they did with the Originals, it would be nice to have more information on Klaus' real father and the family. I know that Mikael was upset and destroyed the family but some of them had to have been elsewhere when the massacre happened and the bloodline of werewolves continued down to the Lockwoods and others.

    • Elijah mentioned that Mikael killed Esther's lover and his entire family, so he can't be related to the Lockwoods. Also, remember MF was a werewolf village back then & everyone in the village had a wolf gene, so even if it was possible, the odds of him being related to the Lockwoods would be slim.

    • yeah but entire family could just be his real wife and children, no, i think tyler is related to klaus, the mikaelsons, the petrovas, the gilberts, the salvatores, and the lockwoods are all connected
