Dr. Jonas Martin was a powerful warlock and also the father of Greta and Luka Martin. He teamed up with a powerful vampire named Elijah in attempt to kill Klaus after he kidnapped his daughter. While trying to help Elijah his son is killed by Damon which led Jonas to go on a rampage and hurting many people before being killed by Stefan Salvatore.

Jonas was a member of the Martin Family.

gins asking Bonnie questions about her family, and if they originated from Salem, Massachusetts. Bonnie becomes suspicious of the Martins, and soon discovers they are male witches. Untrusting of the Martin Warlocks, Bonnie bewitches Luka and forces him to tell her why they are working with vampires. Bonnie discovers that Jonas’ daughter, Greta, was kidnapped by Elijah’s brother Klaus, who has been forcing generations of witches into breaking his curse, without the use of a Petrova Doppelganger. Jonas becomes enraged and strips Bonnie of her powers as punishment. In The House Guest, Jonas discovers that Elijah was killed by the Salvatore’s, and sends Luka to revive him. Later that night, Dr. Martin enchants a spell that sends Luka in an astral projection form to resurrect Elijah, but is sadly killed by Damon Salvatore during the mission. t Elena and attacks her in the grill injuring many people including Matt Donovan but Elena escapes. After the grill he went to the Gilbert's House and tried to kill her again in the bathroom but this time it was actually Katherine who bite him and presumably killed him. However, Jonas manages to survive and leap up after his attack, grabbing Bonnie so Stefan Salvatore rushes over and breaks his neck.It is later revealed, when Jonas grabbed Bonnie, he was only returning her powers and telling her how to kill Klaus.

In the episode Klaus, it was revealed that Greta was actually willingly working for Klaus and that she didn't care about her duty as a witch.

    Okay: let me tell you something. Damon unknowingly torched Luka so stop your gay little "we hate Damon and Katherine" club and suck it up. And what sort of comment is this: "I hope Katherine gets raped then starves then gets raped again and then dies." Seriously?! She was really young and her parents called her a slut for having an illegitimate daughter...and then she came back to find all her family members dead. And as for Damon, Stefan was always the favourite child and Damon was originally the good brother and Stefan was the ripper...so maybe someone needs to slap those disgusting thoughts out of your head.     This show is ridiculous.Those writers are stupid.First,all witches and warlocks are for some reasons always "black".2nd,how people actually more powerful than the vampires can die like that ?this makes no sense.Witches and Warlocks are by far more powerful than vampires.Stupid ass writers who dont even know what they are doing.I really liked Luka,he was handsome,kind and the perfect match for Bonnie.This series is really stupid.What's the morals of this show anyway ?I'm done with this.

      Its not that all witches are blacks (African-Americans). Like if Esther (Originals' mom) was the "Original Witch" or any witch, is white and proves only Black people aren't witches on the show. They just didn't show the other ones. Witchcraft/Dark magic (curses, etc.) is more associated with Africa, so maybe Klaus thought that Blacks were a better option in breaking his curse so that's why only Black witches/warlocks are in focus on the show. The Bennetts seem to be survivors of Salem Witch Trials, they might have survived by acting like servants to wealthy people (e.g. Emily), hence more were born and stayed in America and found by Klaus and he dominated generations of them.

      Continuing from my previous comment: Witches/Warlocks might be powerful, but they can't always conjure up all types of spells and don't have physical and I basically take them as a human. Not normal human but still a human. Vampires are part demons (maybe not in this show) and have lot of strength and after all, are killing predators so... I don't know much since I haven't seen that episode yet. But I can say that Luka was a nice guy. I was also sad hearing that he died, just like Anna. They didn't deserve to die. The writers always kill off the characters who don't have any storyline left, but they shouldn't kill them, why not just make them leave town? Like Lucy Bennett (witch whom Katherine brought in Masquerade), I'm happy that at least she didn't die.

      Final comment: This is a supernatural show based on fiction stories, how can this show have morals? You want morals then watch Discovery channel. Besides, this show is much more realistic or should I just say, which makes sense more than its book counterpart. Read the books, they take you "out of this world". You'll lose all your reality when you'll read the main humans changing into vampire, then ghost, then spirit child, then again human, growing "butterfly" wings, visiting slums in a parallel world and chasing star balls like Dragon Ball Z on moons of other planets in different dimensions. XD

    It's kinda sad though...Coz he lost his daughter to a powerful vampire. All he could trust was an Original..And when his only chance died, he did a desperate move to revive him and lost his son in the process..Losing all of his children. So he was left with nothing. No wife, no daughter, no son and no Original. So he just flew into rage..Also getting himself killed.. RIP Jonas

    For those who are sad of Jonas's death I have a theory: when he touched Bonnie and gave her back her powers and the way to kill Klaus, he may have also imprinted his conciousness or something like that onto her mind. It's a possible plotline that he may reside in Bonnie's spirit and that he will attempt to control her body much in the way that Emily controlled it in Season 1.

    Jonas was so badass. And out of all the deaths this season, him and his son in my opinion had the saddest. Both were on for like half the season and dont even make it to the end. And wait until Lukas sister finds out they both died. All Luka was doing was trying to bring back the badass Elijah and Jonas was trying to get revenge for Damon killing his son. I just hope when Klaus comes, he freakin rips out Damons eyes and heart and rapes Katherine like a hundred times, drinks her blood, then kills her. Or have Elijah whoop their asses, that works too
