Founders' Day Celebration

The Founder's Day Celebration is a yearly event in Mystic Falls. In 2010 the town celebrated its 150th anniversary. (The town was founded in 1860.) Preparations for it started a few months earlier. The event took place in the Season One episode, Founder's Day.

There were a few decorated floats:

Marching Band.
Miss Mystic Falls (Elena and Caroline, with escorts Stefan and Matt).
Reconstructed Battle of Willow Creek by Alaric Saltzman (Jeremy and Tyler).
Football team.

Later on that evening, the mayor held a speech for the 150th anniversary and the fireworks started. Mrs. Lockwood was in charge of the floats and announced them as they passed by.

Also, the device was activated during the 150th celebration and cops injected vervain in vampires when the fireworks had started.

This event happened in novels, specifically The Struggle. Caroline wanted to read Elena's diary at it to arrest Stefan and humiliate Elena. Elena was chosen to be "Soul of Fell's Church".
