That's why you're so great at being a vampire, Marcel. You chose this. I didn't have a choice. I'm cursed and I'm angry.

Rebekah Mikaelson (Elder Futhark: ᚱᛖᛒᛖᚲᚨᚺ ᛗᛁᚲᚨᛖᛚᛋᛟᚾ) is an Original vampire and the former female protagonist of The Originals. Rebekah served as a recurring and guest character in the third, fourth and fifth seasons of The Vampire Diaries.

The second daughter of Mikael and Esther, Rebekah grew up largely influenced by the behaviors of her brothers, Klaus in particular. Nonetheless, Rebekah’s desire to live a human life have always been paramount and this has been reflected through her numerous romantic relationships over the years. Through her years of running from Mikael, Rebekah had relations with several vampires, including Stefan Salvatore and Marcel Gerard, but also enjoyed a brief and dangerous relationship with the vampire hunter Alexander.

After a thousand years at Klaus’ side, Rebekah eventually left New Orleans to pursue her own life, but later returned briefly and was charged with the protection of Klaus’ daughter, Hope. Rebekah and Hope later returned to New Orleans following their discovery by Esther, but she briefly found herself trapped in the body of the witch Eva Sinclair; Rebekah eventually found herself forced back into her Original body at the hands of the Strix and spent a month incapacitated at the bottom of the ocean.

Rebekah’s dreams to become human were eventually made possible when Klaus arranged for Rebekah to receive the Cure in Mystic Falls and enjoy a happy, human life. Following this, Rebekah proposed to Marcel and he accepted. The two later left New Orleans for good, with Marcel handing the reigns of the city back to the witches.

Rebekah is a member of the Mikaelson Family and an unnamed Witch Family.

Early History[]

Mystic Falls, The Middle Ages, 10th Century[]

Rebekah is the second daughter of Mikael and Esther, wealthy landowners from the Kingdom of Norway in the 10th century. Her mother gave birth to Freya, Finn, and Elijah in the Old World, but after Freya was sent away with Esther's sister Dahlia as payment for Esther's fertility spell (which was later covered up by Esther, who claimed Freya had died of the plague), Esther and Mikael were so devastated that they decided to follow the advice of Esther's witch mentor Ayana, who told her of a mystical land (the New World), where its natives were strong and healthy. They then settled in what is now Mystic Falls, Virginia, where Esther and Mikael had four more children; Niklaus (who was secretly fathered by a werewolf named Ansel), Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik. Rebekah, like the rest of her siblings, was born a witch, but she did not tap into her powers prior to being turned into a vampire in her teens.

Young Rebekah

In Farewell to Storyville, it was shown that Rebekah was close to her siblings. Particularly, she was closest to Klaus. During one stormy night, Klaus stayed by Rebekah's side during the night and promised to always protect her. He gifted her with a wooden knight he had carved for her; this would later become a symbol of their close bond.

Whilst Klaus was shown to be protective of Rebekah, she also displayed similar characteristics and once threatened Mikael with a sword when she found him beating Klaus with a whip. Rebekah later tried to kill Mikael in his sleep due to his mistreatment of Klaus (and their other siblings), and would've done so had she not been stopped by Elijah.

While living in the New World, they lived in peace with the werewolves in their village for over two decades. However, during a Full Moon, Niklaus and Henrik snuck out to watch the men from their village transform into wolves. However, as the sun began to rise, Rebekah saw Niklaus carrying Henrik's lifeless body back into the village, and he tearfully confessed that one of the wolves had mauled Henrik to death.

Rebekah in flashback

Rebekah listens to Ayana's conversation with her parents

Not wanting to go through the pain of losing another child ever again, their mother Esther tapped into Dark Magic to cast an adapted version of Qetsiyah's immortality spell, calling upon the sun for life and the ancient white oak tree for immortality. That night, unbeknownst to Rebekah and her siblings, they drank wine laced with the blood of Tatia at dinner and afterward, Mikael drove his sword through their hearts. After the children awakened, Mikael forced his children to feed on the blood a local villager in order to complete their transition into vampires.

Though Rebekah described the feeling of becoming a vampire as being euphoric, she and her siblings quickly began to realize that their new gifts had its weaknesses as well: the flowers that grew at the base of the white oak tree, Vervain, burned them and prevented them from compelling their human neighbors; the sun burned their skin, making it impossible for them to walk in the daylight until their mother enchanted rings to protect them; and they were unable to enter the homes of their neighbors without an invitation. The worst of their side effects was their insatiable thirst for human blood, which persisted long after they had transitioned into vampires and eventually forced them to learn self-control.

"Together as one, always and forever"

After realizing that wood carved from the white oak tree would be fatal to them if stabbed into their hearts, they burned the tree to the ground for their own protection. Then, after the revelation of Esther's infidelity and Klaus' true parentage lead to their mother's death, Rebekah, Niklaus and Elijah swore to each other that they would never turn on each other and stick together as one, "Always and Forever".

1002, Southern France[]

After the death of their mother, largely believed to be at the hands of Mikael, Rebekah and her siblings fled their home in the New World. They survived and satisfied their bloodlust by feeding on those they encountered in the countryside, careful to cover their tracks to ensure they remained hidden from Mikael.

The siblings would eventually settle at the de Martel Castle, where they lived among the de Martel Family and posed as wealthy Nobels. Rebekah became friendly with the Count's daughter, Aurora de Martel. Their position as vampires was eventually discovered by Aurora, who begged to be turned into a vampire. Desperate in her attempts to become like the Mikaelson siblings, Aurora tricked Rebekah into feeding her blood and afterwards, jumped from the window of her room at the de Martel Castle, thus, becoming the first vampire of Rebekah's sireline.

The Mikaelson's eventually realised that their position in France had been compromised and thus, they decided to flee. Unbeknownst to Rebekah and the other Mikaelson's, however, Elijah compelled Lucien, Aurora, and Tristan to believe they were Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah, respectively.

Alexander and Rebekah

After fleeing France, the Mikaelson siblings eventually settled in Italy, where Rebekah befriended, and fell in love with, a Vampire Hunter named Alexander. Unbeknownst to Rebekah, Alexander was a member of the Brotherhood of the Five, and was plotting against Rebekah, Elijah, and Klaus; Alexander planned to utilise the White Oak Ash Daggers to neutralise the Mikaelson Siblings whilst they slept. This plan is eventually foiled, however, and Alexander fails in his quest to neutralise Klaus due to his resistance to the daggers. Angry at Rebekah, Klaus slaughtered Alexander and the other Brotherhood members before demanding that Rebekah tell him what she had learned from Alexander. This forced an upset Rebekah to confess that Alexander and his brothers' alleged "ultimate weapon" against vampires was a cure for immortality. Despite Alexander's betrayal, Rebekah still buried him along with his sword at the church where they had planned to marry before she left with her siblings to find a new home.

1359 — 1592[]

In the years that ensued, Elijah detailed in his journal that Rebekah had lost most of her humanity and thus, became indifferent to brutality.

Eventually, Rebekah, Elijah, and Klaus settled at a Castle in England in 1492. While living there, she met Katerina Petrova, the second Petrova doppelgänger to exist after Tatia, who Klaus planned to sacrifice in order to break his hybrid curse. However, Rebekah ultimately developed a grudge against Katerina after her escape from their castle and subsequent transition into a vampire ruined Klaus' plan to break his curse and destroyed his relationship with Elijah. This was a grudge that Rebekah held against Katerina for the rest of the doppelgänger's life.

1700's[]

Rebekah after devouring the men

Rebekah and the other Mikaelson's would eventually settle in Spain, 1702, but were forced to flee after Mikael learned of their whereabouts. Rebekah, along with Klaus and Elijah, sailed across the world, eventually landing in the port of what would soon become New Orleans, three hundred years prior to the start of The Originals. Upon arriving in the newly established city, several men boarded their ship while under the impression that it was an abandoned ship whose belongings were ripe for the taking. The men were quickly slaughtered by Rebekah and Klaus, who were famished after their long journey, but they were ordered by Elijah to leave one alive, whom they questioned and then compelled to carry their luggage off the ship.

Another flashback of Rebekah from 18th century is shown in The Casket Girls, where she comes upon a carriage of girls who had just arrived in New Orleans from France in order to marry gentlemen there, not knowing that they would be sold to men who were neither gentle nor noble. Fortunately for the women, Rebekah saved the girls by killing the men who were about to attack their carriage and protected them as she helped them flee to safety with their "caskets" full of clothes and belongings. She promised them that she would not harm them, and stated, "We girls need to stick together."

Rebekah and Elijah 2 TO 1x02

Rebekah and Elijah watch Klaus

In 1820, Rebekah, Niklaus and Elijah were living in New Orleans and paying gold to the governor to keep the existence of vampires a secret. Rebekah fell in love with the Governor's son Emil and wanted to turn him into a vampire so they could be together forever. However, whilst asking for her brother's permission, Klaus snorted and told her if she wanted to turn every human she fell in love with, humans would cease to exist, before Klaus proclaimed that nobody was good enough for her and killed Emil by throwing him off the balcony. Some days later, the three Originals were attending Emil's funeral when they noticed a young slave boy throwing an apple at the slave master who was whipping him. Klaus began to talk to the boy, seeing him as a kindred spirit, and even named him Marcellus before inviting him to come live with them at their home. Marcel was soon taken into the family, quickly developing a crush on Rebekah at an early age because of all the time they spent fencing with each other.

By 1835, Marcel had finally reached adulthood and was capable at besting Rebekah at a duel, and after some time, he attempted to make his move on Rebekah, only to be stopped by a jealous Klaus. Despite pleading with Klaus to let him be with Rebekah, Klaus still shot him down and forbid him from pursuing her. However this did not stop Marcel from trying again and making out with Rebekah. They were abruptly torn apart physically by Klaus who decided to punish them by daggering Rebekah.

Rebekah 22 TO 1x02

Rebekah, after 52 years of desiccation

In 1887, Klaus undaggered Rebekah after fifty-two years. When she had asked to see Marcel, Klaus sadistically revealed that he gave Marcel an ultimatum: he could either live a long human life with Rebekah and die of old age, or become a vampire and never be with Rebekah again. He chose the latter, even walking into the room as proof of his transition, which devastated Rebekah. A day or two later, Elijah helped Rebekah reintegrate herself into New Orleans' society by taking her to the opera house. }}

In 1914, Rebekah and the other Mikaelson's celebrated Christmas with the rest of the French Quarter at a large party thrown at the Mikaelson compound. She was seen entering Nik's room, where she found Kol desperately looking for something in his dressers. He took a risk and confessed his plans to create a dagger that would actually work on Klaus, which stunned Rebekah at first before she decided to pretend to join forces with him. Later, she approached a witch who had accompanied Kol to the party and told her that she deserved better than to date Kol. However, unbeknownst to Rebekah, the girl she had spoken to was not a girlfriend of Kol's, but was actually their eldest sister Freya, who was so curious and excited to meet her true family that she couldn't help but sneak into the party. That night, Klaus gathered everyone at the party and made a toast to Rebekah, thanking her for her loyalty. This speech made Kol nervous, and he attempted to escape, but he was ultimately cornered by Klaus and Elijah and daggered in front of the entire party, leading the audience to realize that Rebekah had betrayed Kol by exposing his plans to Klaus.

In 1919, Rebekah worked as nurse in New Orleans sanatorium during the period of influenza. Marcel soon returned from World War I. At first they were distant, but eventually grew closer. Together, they desperately started to search for freedom, to do as they wished without Klaus constantly controlling them. Rebekah befriended Genevieve, a fellow nurse and found out that she was a witch. Soon, they became friends. She asked Genevieve to summon her father, Mikael to New Orleans. Eventually, Klaus accepted and supported her relationship with Marcel, which made the pair very happy. When Genevieve learned that Rebekah used her, she wanted to reveal her secret to Klaus. However, Rebekah quickly infected her and her friend Clara Summerlin with influenza, leaving them to die, so she and Marcel would be protected from Klaus' wrath.

Rebekah in the 1920s

A few years after the New Orleans incident, Rebekah and Klaus found themselves in Chicago. After her introduction to Stefan Salvatore, Rebekah immediately fell in love with him. Not long after, Mikael arrived in the city searching for Klaus with the intention to kill him. Mikael and the police fired wooden bullets into the building. Rebekah, Stefan and Klaus ducked to avoid the bullets and in the commotion, Rebekah lost her mother's necklace. Klaus met up with Stefan and compelled him to forget ever meeting him and Rebekah. Later, Rebekah and Klaus are shown to be packing and moving elsewhere. Klaus tells Rebekah to hurry up, but she says that she is not going anywhere without Stefan. Klaus tells her to let Stefan go, but Rebekah refuses, intent on staying with him. Klaus forces her to choose between him and Stefan, and as she opted for the latter, he neutralizes her with the White Oak Ash Dagger. This is the only weapon that can be used to neutralize an Original Vampire like her siblings (except of Klaus since the daggers are made of silver and he's part werewolf) and herself. Rebekah remained neutralized for 90 years and was stored in a coffin which was carried around with Klaus wherever he went. The coffins also contained her other brothers, Finn and Kol.

After Gloria revealed to Klaus that Rebekah had what she needed to contact The Original Witch, Klaus reluctantly resurrected his sister. While she is resurrecting, Klaus compelled a guard to let her feed from the guard and also told the guard to tell her where to meet Stefan and Klaus. After rising from the dead, Rebekah is delighted to see Stefan again, but is furious after she is unable to find her necklace. She was appalled by modern music and fashion. Gloria uses Rebekah to find the amulet and after doing so, threatens to kill the girl with her necklace and her friends.

As Stefan is about to open Elijah's coffin, Rebekah walks in. He tells her he remembers they were running from someone and inquires about it. Rebekah tells Stefan that she can't talk about it, and instead pulls Stefan into a long kiss. Rebekah then asks afterwards if he'll love another girl the same way he loved Elena. Stefan says he hopes to and tries to kiss Rebekah again, but she stops him, saying his kiss gave him away. Klaus appears, and Rebekah reports that Stefan is not on their side, as he's asking about Mikael. Once they're back in Mystic Falls, Rebekah informs Stefan that Klaus knows that the doppelgänger is still alive, when she is meant to be dead, and that he won't be merciful. Stefan attacks her, but being an original vampire, Rebekah overpowers him and "out of jealousy" stabs him. She later meets Caroline and Tyler at Mystic Falls High School, knocks out Caroline and takes Tyler to Klaus.

After Klaus feeds Tyler his blood and kills him, Rebekah drags Tyler back to Caroline and stays to watch over them. As Rebekah sat there bored as ever, she goes through Caroline's phone, only to find a picture of Stefan and Elena together, and spots her mother necklace around Elena's neck. Rebekah is furious and storms into the gym to inform her brother about the necklace's whereabouts. She threatens Elena and asks about the necklace's location, but Elena explains that she doesn't have it anymore because Katherine had stolen it from her. After Klaus figured out how to successfully create hybrids, and having Elena "donate" blood, he and Rebekah are at the hospital's parking lot.

She questions how he knew that he needed the doppelgänger alive, and he reveals to her, "You know the original witch hated me. Do you honestly think I would do anything other than the opposite of what she says?" He further explains, "The doppelgänger needed to die in order for me to become a hybrid. But if she was dead...". Rebekah chimes in, "Then you couldn't use her blood to sire yourself a new species". And he adds, "Leaving me alone for all time."

Rebekah as a Student

Rebekah is disappointed in his reasoning behind the creation of his own species, just so he would never be alone. Klaus changes the subject, sending her away to fetch the truck. While she's gone, Damon comes to inform Klaus that Mikael is on his way to Mystic Falls to finish him off, causing the hybrid to run off, leaving Rebekah behind.

Elena-and-rebekah

Elena backstabs Rebekah, literally

In Smells Like Teen Spirit, Rebekah forces herself into the Salvatore Boarding House, and enrolls into Mystic Falls High School, ostensibly to keep an eye on Tyler, whom she's been supplying with blood bags. Rebekah also joins the cheer-leading squad and openly tells Caroline that she may be interested in her boyfriend and many other "things" of hers, practically declaring her war.

The same night, she attends the traditional bonfire, where Damon Salvatore tries to distract her (so Alaric and Elena can get Stefan off the track) with his charms and marshmallows, but Rebekah sees through him, and stabs him. She later shows up at Tyler's house with a girl, teasingly biting her, and tells him that Klaus would want his hybrid to get the full vampire experience; at the mention of her brother, Tyler needs no more convincing, and begins to feed on the girl.

Rebekah is devastated to learn that Klaus killed their mother.

When Rebekah is at school and doing a flip for the cheer-leading squad, sees Elena and ask what she wants. She replies she knows about her history from the carvings on the wall. After Elena walks off there is a flashback of Rebekah putting her name on the wall and Klaus watches, he asks for the knife Rebekah slams the sharp end down in his hand thereby hurting. Then Elena gets a text from Rebekah to come over and talk to her, she asks Elena what dress she should wear for the homecoming. Elena ignores and just intends to find out about her history. So Rebekah grabs a girl and as shes about to bite her, Elena tells her to choose the red satin dress. Then Rebekah and Elena go up stairs and Rebekah looks through Stefan's stuff. Then Rebekah tells Elena about who had the necklace and it is revealed that the original witch was her mother Esther. By the end of the episode, Rebekah finds out that Klaus was the one who killed Esther not Mikael and she bursts into tears and accepts that her brother she loved could do something like this.

After Esther's speech, Rebekah drinks the champagne laced with Elena's blood and so, she becomes linked with her siblings. Kol didn't give up on killing Matt, so he wanted to make it without Rebekah. The boy is saved by Damon who hurts Kol. This event is seen by all members of the Original Family including Rebekah. Rebekah then meets Damon and hooks up with him after being upset that she disappointed Matt.

The next morning in All My Children, we see Rebekah waking up next to Damon in his bed. When she was about to leave, she and Damon meet Elena at the door of the Salvatore house. She greets her with a sarcastic smile. Arriving home, she is teased by Klaus and Kol, the latter of whom calls her a strumpet. When her brothers leave for the Mystic Grill on a search for some fun, she throws a shoe at them for their remarks. When they are gone, we see her having a chat with Elijah, who is worried about their mothers behavior.

When Elijah decides to take over control above the acts, he teams up with Rebekah, after thinking out the following plan: Elijah kidnaps Elena and takes her to the caves which run beneath the whole Mystic falls area. Rebekah is sent to the cave to watch over Elena. She is kept there as a hostage, to build up pressure on the Salvatore brothers. When Alaric daggers Kol in the grill, all originals die except Klaus, because of their active link. This includes Rebekah. Elena uses that time gap to get some advantage, so she runs away. When Klaus rushes over to Kol to undagger him, Rebekah comes back to life, too. By that time, Elena found the small chamber in the cave which vampires can't enter.

She later came to the Salvatore Boarding House after getting a message from him and told Stefan she wanted the cure back then and asked if he would take the cure if he had the chance or if it just where for Elena.

Klaus stabs Rebekah with the dagger.

He answered her that Elena will kill and when she does that she will turn off her emotions. Rebekah then said she can't let her brother get what he wants and when she was about to leave Stefan answered he would take the cure if it meant that he would be able to have children, grow old, die and be buried with Elena, Rebekah then told him that she buried Alexander there they where going to get married and she buried the sword along with him. She then figured out that was the only thing he wanted to know was where the sword is. Klaus tells Rebekah that "she is love sick fool" when confronting her. She gets angry at Klaus and tells him that she would have prefer to live her life than his because no one would want to be sitting around the dinner table sharing stories with someone that can't love. Then Klaus came in the room with a white oak dagger and told her she is right, Rebekah tried to run out but is stopped by Stefan. She then becomes angry and dares Klaus to dagger her and then he stabs her with the dagger neutralizing her. Klaus told Stefan to put her somewhere no one can find her.

Rebekah's daggered body

Rebekah's daggered body is found by April.

In O Come, All Ye Faithful, it's revealed that Stefan hid Rebekah's daggered body in a coffin in a tunnel. They intend to do a spell to put Klaus into Rebekah's daggered body so Klaus can be temporarily killed. So Stefan brings Rebekah coffin to the Lockwood Cellar to let them to do the spell, but the plan was fake. Hayley's plan all along was to get all of the hybrids killed leaving Rebekah's coffin in the Lockwood Cellar. April went to the cellar after she overheard Caroline's conversation with Stefan. She opened the coffin and found Rebekah's daggered body.

Rebekah in the library interrogating Stefan, Elena and Caroline

In After School Special, it is revealed that April removed the dagger from Rebekah. Elena believes she is seeing things when she sees Rebekah at Carol Lockwood's Memorial. Elena finds a crying April in the hallway, who distracts Elena by telling her she knows she's a vampire while Rebekah sneaks up and snaps Elena's neck. "Was that necessary?" April asks. "No, but it was fun," Rebekah answers, smiling. Rebekah calls Stefan and tells him she is holding Elena hostage at the high school. Stefan phones Caroline for help. The plan was for Stefan to distract Rebekah while Caroline uses the white oak stake on her, but Rebekah disarms Caroline by the time Stefan finds her. Rebekah escorts him to the library, where Caroline and Elena are already waiting. They have all been compelled. The rules: they answer her questions honestly, no disobedience, and no one leaves.

Rebekah is angry and wants answers

Rebekah needed a quick update on what she's missed. She couldn't understand why, if Stefan would do anything to save Elena, even take the cure himself so he could grow old and die with her, they were still vampires. Rebekah sensed that the reminder of Stefan's devotion to Elena made everyone comfortable, and Caroline finally blurted out that they'd broken up. This situation had to be perpetual teen Rebekah's dream. She demanded to know what had happened. "She slept with Damon," Stefan said. Elena glared at Caroline, who could barely look at her.

It was Elena's turn to fire a shot at Stefan's heart when Rebekah asked her if she thought she'd slept with Damon because of the sire bond. "I didn't sleep with Damon because of the sire bond, I slept with Damon because I'm in love with him," Elena said. Mercifully, Caroline steered Rebekah back onto the subject of the cure. Stefan told Rebekah that Professor Shane knew where to find it. Rebekah phoned Tyler to summon him using Caroline as bait. "Maybe you have a better shot at saving her than you did your mother. Bye now," she said.

Kol told Rebekah she's just as worse as Klaus when he brought Shane. Rebekah and Kol trying to compel Shane to tell them where the cure was. Only he can't be compelled -- something he picked up in Tibet. So Rebekah ordered Kol to beat it out of him the old-fashioned way. Rebekah went back into the library and wanted to play a game of Truth or Dare. Elena chose dare, but Rebekah cheated: "I dare you to tell Stefan the truth about Damon." Elena said when she's with Damon, it feels unpredictable, like she's free. And when she's with Stefan? She feels like a project, a problem that needs to be fixed. "I think I make him sad, and I can't be with someone like that, because when he looks at me, all he sees is a broken toy," Elena said. She's not wrong. After Elena admitted she doesn't love Stefan anymore, Rebekah asked Stefan, "Did that hurt?" and he said "Yes." She replied back, "Welcome to the last 900 years of my life."

Rebekah compels Tyler to turn.

Tyler arrived, and Rebekah told them all to stay in the building and not vamp run in the hallway. Why? She compelled Tyler to turn into a werewolf. Now that she had Shane, she didn't need them. They were just competition, and whoever finds the cure first gets to decide how to use it. Rebekah couldn't understand why Shane even wanted the cure since he's human. And he said he doesn't. He just wants Silas, the first Immortal, who's imprisoned with it. Now this got interesting: Kol said "Silas will kill us all," and Rebekah said he's not real, he's just a fairy tale. Shane insisted he's real, that he knows where he's buried, and that soon he'll have the spell that wakes him. Apparently you need his tombstone and dozens to die in a blood sacrifice. Shane's done it before. He's the one who got the Council blown up. Shane said those deaths were noble -- and temporary. "Because once I raise Silas, Silas will raise the dead. He will bring back every last soul who died on his behalf." And then, Kol impaled him. While Stefan and Elena worked together to protect themselves from werewolf Tyler, Kol and Rebekah fought. He said Silas would be "hell on earth," so Rebekah should thank him. But she wasn't in a forgiving mood, thinking Shane was dead along with her advantage in the race to the cure. It's probably worth remembering that Kol now has possession of the white oak stake.

Rebekah needed some cheering up so she found Stefan and Elena. "Why are my least favorite people always the most durable?" she asked. She couldn't believe that Stefan was still protecting Elena. Was she going to have to rip out his heart and show him the scar tissue? She said there was a solution: She could compel him to forget Elena -- erase every memory, kiss, lie, ounce of pain, bit of love. He wouldn't know Elena or the misery. "Do it," Stefan said. "Erase it all, every memory." Elena protested, but there was no need. Rebekah had no intention of making it that easy on Stefan. "I refuse to make you forget her the way Klaus made you forget me," she said. And to Elena: "But at least you know how he really feels." She told them Stefan's eternity of pain was her revenge, and they were free to go.

In Catch Me If You Can, the morning after Stefan and Rebekah team up, she is sitting on his bed reading his diary, when he walks in. She said that she was reading it too see if he had second thoughts about teaming up and tells him that the plan is to steal Silas' headstone from Shane, so Shane would help them out.

Later, Stefan and Rebekah go to Shane's office to look for the headstone. Rebekah tells a tense Stefan to "Don't ripper out on me, we'll find it" and also said he needed a release. She suggested they burn through some of Shane's herbs, and when he declines, she said he was not as fun as he was in the 1922. He admits they had a little bit of fun back then. After looking for the headstone for a while, Rebekah asks Stefan if he knows why she had refused to compel him to forget Elena. She tells him that it wasn't to punish him, but to teach him that it took "a thousand years and hundreds of betrayals" of love and caring to ruin her. Also, she tells him, that they didn't care in the 1922, they did what felt good. It was liberating -- the drinking, the feeding, the sex. Stefan responds with "The sex was not good because we did not care. It was good because you're crazy. Crazy sex is always good," they are about to kiss, when some guy walks into Shane's office, and Stefan and Rebekah hide.

Rebekah then asks if Stefan thinks it was Klaus or Damon, but Stefan thinks it was someone else.

Later, Stefan's phone starts to ring, and Rebekah picks it up, and it's Elena. Elena tells Rebekah that she needs to talk to Stefan, because Damon had been compelled by Kol to kill Jeremy, but Stefan doesn't say anything.

Eventually, Rebekah goes to Klaus' house, and finds Kol there. She is about to dagger him, but he distracts her by saying that Elijah would be disgusted by their bickering. While Rebekah is distracted, Kol flips Rebekah around and is about to kill her with the White Oak Stake, but Klaus stops him and saves her.

In A View to a Kill she and Stefan spent an entire day together, because he was distracting her so Matt could steal the dagger, to neutralize her, but at the end, they find out they much more in common that what they think. In Into the Wild, Rebekah gives Elena the evil eye and the two waste no time almost killing each other. While hiking, Rebekah recapped what everyone brings to the table including Elena (nothing) and Damon ("nice behind"). When night fell, the gang makes camp for the night. Rebekah and Stefan were sitting by the fire lamenting the lack of s'mores when they hear a noise. She jumped and crushed his arm when she grabbed him. He reminded her that she's an Original vampire and she revealed again how much she wants to be human because being a vampire is miserable. Stefan said if he takes the cure, it'll be for him, not Elena.

In the morning, the group had to split up: Bonnie wanted to stay behind and try a locator spell and Shane wanted to stay. Rebekah and Elena continued bickering as they walked with Stefan, and the only thing that shut them up was when Elena tripped a wire and almost got herself staked. Rebekah stopped the wood before it got to Elena. Point for Rebekah. Elena genuinely thanked her, but Rebekah would not play nice: She said she did not care if Elena died, but if it was going to happen, it should be epic.

pain of a spear and had her safely pinned against a tree with his hands on her waist. He wanted to know whether she was serious about a cease-fire. Rebekah asked why they all assume that she hates Elena so much. Because she ran her off a bridge. Yes, but that's because that was the only way to save her family. Elena's helped kill two of Rebekah's brothers to save the people she cares about. That's what they all do. Maybe she and Elena are not as different as people think they are. They headed back to camp, where Elena now could not find Bonnie or Shane. Shane's things were gone. And so was the headstone. Rebekah freaked out thinking Elena and/or Stefan had taken the headstone or was working with Shane. That makes no sense, which they were able to convince her of. Was Stefan saying every moment of his last 146 years was ruled by the pain of being a vampire suggesting that maybe HE won't love HER when he's human, or just meant to show her that he wants to be human whether or not she loves him? Elena offered Rebekah the white oak stake as a peace-offering. Rebekah said there was no peace, they're all screwed. That's why Elena said the three of them have to work together now. Rebekah accepted it.

In Down the Rabbit Hole, while still on the island, Rebekah, Stefan and Elena realize that without the headstone the only hope to finding the cure is with the Hunter's sword in Klaus' possession. Rebekah says Klaus wouldn't give up the sword as he was terrified the cure would be used against him, however Caroline says she would find the sword as Klaus is still trapped in the Gilbert living room. Later on, Caroline calls and reveals she has the translation of the tattoo, Rebekah is surprised to learn that Klaus helped and ever more so that he wishes her to find happiness in being able to live and die as she wishes. Klaus manages to tell her that there is only one dose of the cure before the phone is cut off, and keeps this information to herself for the time being. Stefan, Rebekah and Elena are walking towards the edge of a cliff and once Elena has jumped down, she reveals to Stefan about the cure, before snapping his neck, knowing he would give the cure to Elena if he had the chance.

Galen faces Rebekah and Damon

Rebekah next appears inside the cave head in which Vaughn had Damon who managed to free himself. Vaughn had his gun pointed at the both, and Rebekah is confident in the knowledge she can't be killed without the White Oak Stake. He then shoots her three times and she launches at him, unprepared for the grenade he sticks on her chest as he holds up the fuse. The grenade detonates and spikes shoot into her body, neutralizing her. Damon, who Vaughn incapacitated beforehand was freed when Stefan and Elena found them and he urged them to continue and then began to dig the spikes from Rebekah's body until she wakes. After a short conversation, she realizes that Damon has given up after he urged Elena to continue for the cure, despite knowing her feelings may change if she became human. "You did something selfless, Damon. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were becoming a halfway decent person." She says whilst smiling.

In Stand By Me, Rebekah finds Damon who is also still on the island and demands to know where the cure is, surprised to learn Katherine stole the cure. She expresses sympathy towards Elena after being told of Jeremy's death, saying "I'm not heartless, he was Elena's only family" before telling him they find Katherine.

After hearing that Silas is awake, she follows Damon, and says she didn't like being out in the open. Damon's mocks her fear and she retorts Kol must of been afraid of Silas for a reason. She begins to ask Damon about why he is so far away from Elena, and says "or are you terrified of being there when she realizes her brother is dead?" Damon suddenly grabs her and an arrow is embedded in her back, by the onlooking Vaughn. She appears beside Damon sometime later having managed to dig the arrow out of her spine and begins to question the bound Vaughn for information on where to find Katherine. After hesitation he admits Katherine found him and said she could help him find Silas, already aware of the Hunters Mark and the cure, as she had someone on the inside; Hayley. Rebekah then tells Damon that she has a lead on the cure and is determined to find it, and that he wouldn't mind as he never wanted Elena human again.

Sometime later, Rebekah tosses Vaughn to the ground and he tries to persuade her into using the cure on Silas. She is still unsure yet wary of his existence yet to prove it, Vaughn tells her to look in his bag for Silas' mask. After hesitation, she does so and looks on at the mask in her hands, Vaughn asks her "how do you hide from the devil when you don't know what he looks like?" She swallows nervously before dropping the mask and running from the cave. After nightfall, Rebekah is walking through the woods and is startled find a body, she shines the flashlight and realizes the body is Shane. She walks around yet gasps as the bloody Shane grabs her leg and says one name: Silas.

Rebekah and Damon

In Bring It On, Damon is searching a truck stop for the vampire who previously attacked the werewolf Hayley when Rebekah surprises him with a vial of Klaus' blood. She explains the blood is to cure the vampire Klaus had bitten and interrogate him for answers on Katherine's whereabouts. Their search brings them to a nearby hospital where they find the entire blood supply has been cleaned out. Rebekah questions his motives as she knows the sire bond is broken and says he would "just cure Elena back to loving your brother". Outside, Damon feeds on a nurse in order to lure out the dying vampire, as he appears, Damon realizes he knows him then rips his heart out as he was supposedly "too far gone". Later, at Elena's Wild Party, Rebekah accuses Damon of purposely killing the vampire to keep her from finding the cure. Damon tells her that becoming human would mean she would become a nobody and that "life sucks when you're ordinary".

In Because the Night, Rebekah trails Damon and Elena to New York. She was suspicious of Damon who was still secretly looking for The Cure. As Elena doesn't want the cure, Rebekah offers her a deal to get the cure together so that Rebekah can solely ingest it, but Elena's rejection frustrates her. Later on, Elena accepts the deal since Damon wouldn't stop trying to find the cure for her. Rebekah and Elena steal Damon's car and leave New York together to hunt for Katherine who is in possession of the cure.

In American Gothic, Rebekah and Elena find Katherine in Willoughby, PA, where Katherine has compelled the entire town. While Elena pretends to be Katherine with Elijah, Rebekah keeps an eye on Katherine. Soon, Stefan and Damon arrive. Rebekah and Damon go with Katherine to her house to get the cure. While Rebekah searches the house, Damon finds that the cure is contained in a fish tank filled with vervain water. Katherine dunks Damon's head in the water and temporarily incapacitates him. Katherine distracts Rebekah by tossing the cure into the air and making a run for it. Damon, still weak from the vervain, tries to convince Rebekah not to take the cure, but Rebekah tells him to give her one good reason why he wants Elena to take it. Damon does not answer. Rebekah drinks from the vial, just as Stefan arrives too late, and loses consciousness. When she awakens, even though she states that she feels human, she quickly learns that she is still a vampire and that Katherine tricked them. Later, Rebekah meets with Elijah and asks him to give her the cure stating that she wants to be human. Klaus then calls her and asks about her progress. She gives the phone to Elijah, who tells Klaus that he has the cure and is on his way back to Mystic Falls. Rebekah and Elijah leave together.

In Pictures of You, Elijah agrees to give Rebekah the cure provided that she go a whole day without her vampire abilities. Klaus tells her that when she is dying he won't help her. Later, she tells Elena, who is now living with her, about all this while they walk through town. Elena says that she will come to prom to insure that Rebekah wins the cure so she won't have to take it. They enter a dress shop where Caroline is trying on her prom dress with Bonnie. Rebekah watches silently as Elena and Caroline exchange words.

At Prom, Rebekah walks up and asks Matt if he and Bonnie are a thing because they arrived together. He tells her that they are here as friends. Then, she asks him if he thinks she would make a good human. He tells her she wouldn't because he has never seen her do anything remotely good. Later, Rebekah is talking to April, who tells her that she can't just make her prom queen and that Rebekah can't compel her because she now drinks vervain tea. Elena runs up to April, holds her by the neck and tells her to make Rebekah prom queen or she'll kill her. When April runs off, Rebekah tells her that she was not going to threaten April. Elena remarks that Rebekah will not win the cure by being herself because she is not a good person.

When Rebekah is sitting alone, Matt comes up to her and asks if she's seen Bonnie. She says that she is probably in the bathroom like all the other girls. She then asks Matt to dance with her. After some pleading, he agrees. While dancing, Rebekah tells Matt that he is everything that she want's to be: loyal, honest, and kind. She tells him that he's "so beautifully human." Elena later tells her that Silas is appearing at the prom as Jeremy. Elena tells her that since she can't kill Silas, she can kill Bonnie so she can't do his spell to destroy The Other Side.

Rebekah warns Matt to keep Bonnie safe. In the tent, Elena fails to kill Bonnie. After Bonnie runs away, April enters the tent and Elena, in a fit of anger, slams April's head onto a table, feeds on her and leaves. When Rebekah enters the tent, Matt convinces Rebekah to heal April with her blood. Realizing that she lost her bet with Elijah, she remarks that she should have stayed home. Matt assures her that he won't tell anybody about what she did.

Parting in a friendly manner, Matt leaves to take April home. Klaus then shows up, having seen everything, and tells her that she will tell Elijah everything. Rebekah calls Elijah, telling him not to lose the cure because Klaus is up to something. However, it is too late. Silas has already shown up in Rebekah's form and acquired the cure from Elijah and tears fall down Rebekah's cheeks.

In The Originals, When Elijah tells her Klaus has gone to New Orleans, she refuses to go there and help him.

In She's Come Undone, Rebekah is seen at the Mystic Grill drinking shots. She appears to be on her fifth one when Matt comes the back and walks up to her. Rebekah comments that she was wondering if he was going to keep ignoring her. He tells her that he was working and observes that she must have compelled the bartenders again. She tells him that she's celebrating because Elijah and Klaus have gone to New Orleans and left her alone. She also laments losing the cure and her chance to become human. Matt says that he's sorry and Rebekah accuses him of planning to take the cure from her to give to Elena. Matt tells her that he's sincere and goes to leave. Rebekah asks him to stay and have a drink with her but he tells her that he has to meet Caroline. Rebekah tells him that she likes Elena without her humanity and that she doesn't need fixing. He tells her matter-of-fact that Elena was his friend long before she was her sidekick. He asks her why she's still in Mystic Falls if she has nothing left there. He tells her that some people, like him, are broke, failing their classes, and stuck. He walks out leaving her clearly affected by his hard honesty. Later, Rebekah surprises Matt and Caroline by showing up at the Salvatore Boarding House. She brings Matt burgers as a peace offering, which Matt gladly accepts, and offers to help him study. Caroline enthusiastically offers to help Matt study. After she leaves to go home and get study aids, Rebekah says to Matt, "You dated that?" and he replies, "She likes projects."

Rebekah gives Matt some advice

Later, Rebekah and Matt are alone in the boarding house living room. Matt uses an app on his phone to translate a sentence into Italian. Rebekah teases Matt about how her Italian may not be as good as it used to be. Matt tells her that he doesn't want to be left behind repeating his senior year while all his friends are in college. She tells him that the only reason he's failing classes is because he is too busy "training doomed hunters and dealing with Elena's drama." She offers to compel him good grades and a scholarship, but says he doesn't want that. She tells him that when he convinced her to save April Young at prom it made her realize that she could be a better person and that she's grateful. She advises to take advantage of what she's offering him and make something of himself. She tells him, "anyone who leaves you behind is a fool. I wouldn't." Right after she says this, Katherine walks in the front door, sarcastically commenting on Rebekah's comment. When Rebekah and Matt find out that Damon called Katherine to aid in rekindling Elena's humanity, Matt chastises him before Damon and Katherine leave the room. Matt goes outside to call Caroline. After Katherine allows Elena to escape, Rebekah is with Matt when Damon tells Matt to come with him to try and get Elena back. Rebekah asks why Matt should go with him, to which Damon replies that Matt's life might have some purpose this time. After Damon kills Matt while he is wearing the Gilbert Ring, Rebekah sits next to Matt until he comes back to life. When Rebekah asks if using the ring hurts, Matt tells her that getting his neck snapped and coming back from the dead both hurt a lot. Rebekah informs him that Elena has her humanity back on and that Matt did a brave thing. He tells her that he's trying to pay Elena back for saving him from drowning. Rebekah tells Matt that she can't apologize enough for her running him and Elena off Wickery Bridge or for Elena becoming a vampire. She tells him that she will spend every day until graduation trying to pay him back. In The Walking Dead, Matt and Rebekah are at the Mystic Grill. Rebekah is a bit confused about sending out graduation announcements, and Matt confides that he isn't sending out any because he has hardly any family. Soon, Elena shows, and Rebekah offers her a drink. Elena tells her that they had their Bonnie and Clyde moment when her emotions were off, but that they are no longer

Out of nowhere Kol shows up, wanting revenge for his death. Before leaving to find Elena, he throws a broken bottle at Matt, injuring his shoulder. Rebekah offers to feed him her blood, but Matt refuses, saying that people in this town have a tendency to turn into vampires and that he would like to graduate as a human. Rebekah goes to find a first aid kit in the back and stumbles upon Caroline, who has been compelled by Silas to cut her wrists. After trying to snap Caroline out of the compulsion by saying her aunt and uncle want to see her graduate with both hands, Rebekah slaps Caroline, and it works. Walking out of the Grill, Matt notices someone walking around and asks Rebekah who it is. It's Alexander, Rebekah's ex-boyfriend/ex-fiance, who once daggered her and was killed by Klaus. As they turn to run away, Connor and Vaughn, two other vampire hunters, stop them in their tracks.

In Graduation, Rebekah is with Matt, who is on a bomb trigger which will detonate several bombs placed in cars around them if Matt steps off. Rebekah refuses to leave when Matt tells her to. When Alexander tells Rebekah that she she'll survive if she runs away with Matt, but Matt won't. Matt tells her to ignore Alexander and asks her what she will do after graduation. Rebekah when Elijah first calls.

In Always and Forever, Rebekah is still in Mystic Falls at her home. She's seen taking a peaceful bath and sipping on champagne when her brother Elijah Mikaelson gives her a call. Previously, Elijah had left for New Orleans to investigate since he had heard word that there were witches conspiring against their brother Niklaus Mikaelson. So in her phone call, he reveals to her that Klaus' former protégé Marcel Gerard is still alive. Rebekah has a seemingly shocking reaction to this. Then he goes on to explain that not only is Klaus' sire Marcel still alive, but he is also thriving as the ruler of the French Quarter. He has an army of savage vampires and rules the supernatural beings with an iron fist.

However, he swiftly loses her attention when he mentions Klaus' name. She goes on to state: "Our hateful, traitorous bastard of a brother, who's negated any sympathy I once had for him by his repeated efforts to ensure that neither you, nor I know any happiness outside of his own selfish universe." Elijah brings up their pact to remain together "Always and Forever", but Rebekah calls take backs on that pact. He alleges that she has taken take backs before, to which she retorts despite her age she's hardly senile, and if memory serves her right, she's stood by Klaus through thick and thin. Elijah then ends the conversation with saying that their brother must be in trouble when the witches are brave enough to bring an Original back into town and he wants to find out why. When Elijah meets Hayley Marshall, he explains his family history to her. He shows her how they were turned into vampires through his mind. One of the first images that he shows her is a human Rebekah watching her brothers sword fighting.

Rebekah talking to Elijah

Rebekah then receives another call from Elijah, who was hoping to persuade her to join them in New Orleans. He updates her on the recent turn of events. He laments on how Klaus is willingly to give up on his own offspring and he's lashing out with blind rage. He states that the last time he saw something like this, it lasted for two hundred years. He vividly recollects how Klaus was so close to feeling happiness when he heard the child's heartbeat for the first time, but now his temper is still getting the better of him. He then ends the conversation by telling her he's running out of time to go get the girl. Upon hearing this, Rebekah replies with her usual wit and sarcasm: "What, are we running an orphanage now?"

Rebekah ignoring Elijah's call

Still undettered by her lack of enthusiasm to help Klaus, Elijah attempts to give Rebekah one last call to change her mind. But by this time her resolve to stay away had been totally demolished, that she knew if she answered his call that she would have no choice, but to go help her brothers. So she decides to ignore his last call, but her expressions show that she had most likely made up her mind to join her brothers at that point.

Rebekah arrives in New Orleans.

In House of the Rising Son, after 3 months, Rebekah finally makes her appearance in New Orleans. She has been unable to reach Elijah so she comes to find him. Rebekah enters Klaus' home and is met by Hayley. She informs Rebekah that Elijah is gone. She tells his sister that after promising her and the baby protection, he just took off, according to Klaus. Rebekah immediately knows her brother has done something to Elijah and starts shouting insults until he appears from behind a closed door. The reunion between brother and sister is hostile, but not violent. Klaus tells her she's free to take a look around the rambling southern mansion that apparently belonged to an influential family friend, the governor. Rebekah recruits Hayley to search the house. It doesn't take them long to locate the family coffins. Rebekah explains Klaus' habit of torturing his siblings on a whim or whenever they disappoint him. Elijah's coffin is missing. Hayley feels sickened by this news and Rebekah tells her she should have run the minute Elijah went missing. Hayley fills her in on the witches' spell that keeps her bound to the city. Rebekah tells Hayley that Klaus will probably have a box ready and waiting for her the minute she gives birth. She suggests Hayley finds a way to break the hex the witches put on her and get out of town. That's what she plans to do as soon as she finds Elijah.

Rebekah and Marcel TO 1x02

Marcel and Rebekah reunited.

Rebekah tracks down Sophie and tells her to do a locator spell on the dagger so she can find Elijah. Sophie refuses, telling Rebekah that doing magic is punishable by death, Marcel's rules. Rebekah makes her own threats, but finds out that anything she does to Sophie also befalls Hayley. Out of respect for Elijah, she has to come up with an alternative plan. Rebekah asks Sophie why the witches don't just leave; Sophie explains that they practice ancestral magic. She points out that the cemetery they are standing in houses the remains of their witch ancestors and without access to them, they're powerless. Rebekah explains that the witches' plan of convincing Klaus to go against Marcel was foolish given the men's history. She reveals that Klaus loved Marcel like a son. She tells Sophie all she's done is reunite two lost souls. Later, Rebekah is reunited with Marcel and she tells him she's looking for Elijah, but he says he's learned not to get in the middle of their family feuds before he leaves.

Rebekah saves Hayley

Hayley takes Rebekah's advice and procures some wolfsbane to kill the baby. Little does she know that the woman who sold it to her also sold her out to Marcel. Now he knows there is a werewolf in the quarter. Hayley gets cornered by some of Marcel's men in a park, but Rebekah swiftly and effectively comes to her aid. They unknowingly derailed Klaus on his journey to regain control of the quarter. Hayley was supposed to remain confined in the house since werewolves are banned from the quarter. Rebekah also managed to kill a handful of Marcel's men. Rebekah calls him out, accusing him of lying about having a plan and chastising him for not honoring the deal Elijah made. Klaus explains that Marcel hasn't trusted Klaus from the beginning. He's had all his crew swilling vervain, so they're impervious to his mind control. Klaus saw a chance to recruit an insider the night he was at The Abattoir. He made sure that at least one newbie vampire emerged from the evening. When Marcel took one in, Klaus compelled him before he was given vervain. He also decided to use Marcel's crush on the bartender Cami against him. He compelled her into his service as well.

Klaus and Rebekah 2 TO 1x02

Rebekah and Klaus

Now Klaus has to clean up after Rebekah's mess. Infuriated, he asks Hayley what she was doing in the quarter and when she tells him what she was about to do, he becomes enraged. Rebekah points out that for someone who claims to not want his child, his actions speak louder than his words. She tells him it is okay to care. Klaus admits to Rebekah that he gave Elijah to Marcel. He and his crew were getting antsy with so many Originals in town so he did it as a peace offering. He says he plans to dismantle Marcel's empire and honor Elijah's wishes regarding the baby and if Rebekah doesn't like how he does it, she's free to leave. Rebekah tells Hayley that for years, Klaus killed any suitor she ever had because he didn't think any were good enough for her. Hayley asks Rebekah why she doesn't just go confront Marcel about Elijah and she tells her that Klaus would kill her. Hayley presents the infamous daggers; she found them underneath Rebekah's coffin. Rebekah confronts Marcel and he takes her to see her brother. He introduces her to Davina, an incredibly powerful witch who invites her in. Just as Rebekah is ready to pull the dagger out of her brother's chest, Davina warns her not to do it. With her magic, she sends Rebekah flying out of the attic. Rebekah awakens to bad news this time as well. Marcel tells her the town, Davina and Elijah are all his. Everything that used to belong to her and Klaus now belongs to him. But Rebekah will stop at nothing and do whatever it takes to get her brother Elijah back.

Rebekah 22 TO 1x03

Rebekah talking to Cami.

In Tangled Up In Blue, Rebekah and Klaus have intersecting plans to get what they want. Marcel is having a huge masquerade ball tonight, and Rebekah strikes up a friendship with Cami and invites her to go. She figures that if Cami is there, Marcel will be distracted, which will allow her true plan to unfold. She has Sophie run a locator spell on Elijah, but since witchcraft is so heavily monitored in New Orleans, Rebekah plans to have Katie, the herb shop owner, do a bigger spell to act as a smokescreen. Katie will undoubtedly be killed, but it is a small price to pay - especially for a traitor. At the ball, Marcel is distracted by Cami, as Rebekah planned. Later, Rebekah is talking with Sophie in the graveyard. Rebekah is watching over Sophie while she's trying to locate Elijah. Sophie feels Katie's magic stop, and wants to go on with her, smaller spell. Rebekah tells her no, that she doesn't want to risk Sophie's exposure.

Rebekah 36 TO 1x03

You disgust me.

Rebekah is playing the piano back at the house, calling the night an "epic failure" because Sophie wasn't able to locate Elijah. Klaus disagrees. Rebekah tells him Katie's magic stopped before they could finish. Klaus explains that that is because he broke her neck. Rebekah exclaims at this, and Klaus goes on. He tells her that Katie tried to take Marcel down with her, and he was there to "save" the day. Rebekah is livid. She screams at him that Sophie trusted him, and she trusted him. Klaus reminded her that if the witches get the power in NOLA, they'll get Davina and use her against them instead. By protecting Marcel tonight, he's being rewarded with getting Elijah back. But, he's going to stick by Marcel's side until Marcel tells him everything about Davina, then he will have her. Rebekah tells him that he always gets what he wants, no matter what it costs anyone else. She tells him that he disgusts her.

In Girl in New Orleans, Rebekah has been looking up the style of windows which is only detail she can remember from Davina's room. St. Anne is the only church that has them. She meets Kieran and compels him to let her take a look around the church unaware he's immune to compelling. She's taken back into her memory of a opera and tells her he'll be home soon.

HayleyRebekah still

Hayley and Rebekah in the bayou.

In Sinners and Saints, Sophie tells Rebekah and Klaus about Sabine's vision that she had when she was tooling around with a crystal trying to tell Hayley whether she was having a boy or a girl. Klaus asks what the vision said. Apparently, the vision said that the baby would bring about death to all the witches, and there's a faction of witches out there who will stop at nothing to get rid of the baby. Rebekah says that she promised Elijah she'd keep Hayley safe, and wants to know just how extreme this faction of witches is. She also lets slip that Elijah and Davina are talking. Sophie is, understandably, shocked by that news and asks for confirmation. Rebekah gives it, but doesn't explain. Sophie talks a little more about this "extreme faction" of witches, and starts a flashback. Sophie tells Rebekah and Klaus that four girls would be chosen for harvest, just as Klaus gets a phone call from Marcel. In the cemetery, Rebekah appears behind Sophie and Hayley. "Could you be more idiotic?" She says that she can follow people too. Hayley says she's coming, and that Rebekah can't stop her, unless she locks her in this tomb, and if she does that Elijah will be none too happy to find her asphyxiated on the floor of the crypt. Rebekah and Klaus have a conversation on the phone where Rebekah tells Klaus that she's going with Sophie and Hayley to the dead witches, and asks Klaus to stall Marcel in coming to investigate. While in the bayou, they see a massive paw print in the dirt, and then sees bloody claw marks in the bark of a nearby tree. A skinny dude appears, mutters something about Rebekah being an Original, and then vamp speeds it out of there. Next scene, Klaus is outside the bayou bar again, talking on the phone with Rebekah. He wonders if that wasn't Marcel's informant they ran into, and fusses at Rebekah for not catching him. She comes back at him with the fact that she knows she's a failure as a sister, a friend, and as an Original vampire, but the dude is coming Klaus' way. She says he's a skinny guy that probably just looks like he's seen a ghost. Later, she makes herself comfy at the bar next to Marcel, who asks her if she's come to take her drunk brother home. Rebekah replies, "why else?" Marcel says that he thinks they're both hoping he'll get very drunk and spill his secrets. Not sure how the conversation goes south from there, but it ends with Rebekah saying "you don't want to be on the wrong side of me" and Marcel echoes it back to her. Klaus returns to the bar, to find only Rebekah there alone. Klaus asks her if he left, if he said where he was going. Rebekah asks if Klaus thinks Marcel figured out they were stalling him. Klaus shakes his head, and then wonders aloud if Marcel was actually stalling them.

Rebekahelijahh1x05

Elijah and Rebekah hugging

Rebekah and Hayley are talking, and Rebekah teases that even if they have to buy Hayley a leash, she isn't to go back to the bayou. Hayley says, again, that she just came down here to find out more about her family, and thought that maybe she had found some sort of connection with this wolf that protected her. She wants a family, doesn't want to be alone in the world. Rebekah tells her that family is "nothing but a pain in the behind" and then chastises her for thinking that she's alone. Rebekah says that she wouldn't ruin a pair of perfectly good boots by traipsing around the bayou for just anybody. Klaus walks in and Elijah walks right in behind him. Rebekah's face breaks out into a huge smile and Hayley gives him a shy smile and walks outside. Rebekah tries to talk to him, but Elijah excuses himself to follow Hayley on to the porch. Elijah has everyone – Hayley, Klaus, and Rebekah – sat down around a table, telling him everything he's learned tonight. That war isn't over anything aside from Davina. The witches wants her to finish their Reaping, and Marcel and the vampire are protecting her because that's what Marcel wants them to do.

Rebekah and Hayley TO 1x06

Rebekah taking care of Hayley.

In Fruit of the Poisoned Tree, Rebekah was peeved to find that her brothers had begun bonding with vampire reading time and a dose of human blood straight from the vein. While Elijah refused Klaus' peace offering of a warm body, it'd be Rebekah who'd take to cleaning up the mess of said corpse. Hayley is resting and Rebekah is stuck babysitting her. Hayley says that she likes Rebekah even if she's a bitch. Rebekah is ready to leave before the boys leave her behind but Hayley gets dizzy and is feeling sick. Rebekah is watching over Hayley, Hayley is getting worse. Sophie and Elijah shows up and sends Rebekah after some herbs. While Rebekah is searching for herbs, Marcel walks in and catches her looking. Marcel flirts with Rebekah to try to distract her but she finds what she needed and leaves. After the spell is finally lifted, she told Elijah she was leaving. Rebekah wanted him to join her but she knows that he will never leave Klaus. Rebekah doesn't want in the war anymore, she just wants to be free. Elijah tells her that she is free and kisses her cheek. Marcel is having a drink when Rebekah comes to tell him goodbye. Marcel asks her to share a drink before she leaves. They get extremely close, she starts to leave then Marcel kisses her. She pushes him off then pulls him back to her and start to have sex. Rebekah is still with Marcel, she found out that Marcel hasn't bothered her room. He also mentions "the hotel" then Rebekah acts weird. She tries to give him an apple and he says no. She asks Marcel to come with her, Marcel isn't all about it. Rebekah says an empire is nothing if there's no one to share it with.

Marcel then asks her to choose between him and Klaus and says that he would like to give her everything she have ever wanted. Rebekah tells him that Klaus would kill him first, but Marcel says that they should get rid of him first. Rebekah opposes the idea to kill Klaus as she is afraid that Marcel will only get himself killed. She realizes that Marcel didn't know that when you kill an Original vampire all the vampires who are sired from them will die. Then they decide to bury Klaus to the garden forever and finally Rebekah agrees with his plan as she finds out that Klaus left Elijah and Hayley to the bayou and bite Elijah. Marcel then comes up with the plan to bury Klaus to the garden forever and Rebekah leaves him as she is yet unsure of this idea. RebekahHope

Rebekah with Hope.

In Rebirth, Rebekah has Hope in her arms. She tells Hope a fairytale about her father and New Orleans.

Once upon a time, there was a majestic king. He was blessed with a beautiful baby daughter for whom he wished only peace. Still, the king had demons who pursued him. There was a ruthless beast who wanted to take the kingdom for her own. Armed with a pack of untamed creatures, she drove all the other magical beings from the land. And there was a wicked sorceress with enchanted stones that weakened the king every full moon. Seeing the shadows his enemies caused upon his home, the king was driven to send his beloved princess away, convincing all that remain that she was forever lost. The king, in his sorrow, turned away from the world. The castle closed its doors, and the kingdom fell. Some say that the only light that shines in the castle illuminates the shadow of the once majestic king in the room meant for his child. But, as the ruthless beasts took rule over the fallen king's realm, little did they know that he and his brother would not rest until their enemies were vanquished. For, they believed that one day, they would heal their kingdom and bring their precious princess home, so that she might live happily ever after. After the story Rebekah places Hope in her crib and puts the wooden knight Klaus gave to Rebekah as a child next to her.

Maisie as Rebekah

Rebekah wakes up in her new body

In The Map of Moments, Rebekah tries to bring back an ancient family tradition during the bonfire season. After seeing how much Esther played with Elijah's mind, she makes the decision to risk her Vampirism and body in order to stop Esther's plan. She meets Esther at the Lycee. She is also reunited with her brother Kol, for the first time after his death. She spikes Esther's wine with her own blood. Rebekah is not kept in her own body, revenge enforced by Kol for her betraying him in 1914. She awakens in the once grand Dowager Fauline Cottage in the body of a presumably insane witch. It can be presumed that she is insane because the cottage has been used as an insane asylum since 1914.

In Gonna Set Your Flag On Fire, a nurse binds Rebekah's wrists and ankles to a bed and tries to shove pills into her mouth. Rebekah tries to fight back, claiming that they have no idea who they are dealing with. When she finally stops resisting, the nurse undoes her restraints and leaves the room. Rebekah wakes up, spits the pills and shoves them under her pillow. Cassie comes up and recognizes her. This surprises Rebekah, who gets up and shuts the door behind them so they could have a talk. She asks Cassie how to get out of the cottage. She answers that no one has ever gotten out of the house alive. Later, she gives Rebekah information about the history of the asylum and the coven of witches who call themselves the kindred. Rebekah asks her to help her send a message to her brothers. They chant the spell, but are interrupted by a witch, who tells them to come for dinner. When they leave, the message they spelled is magically scattered on the floor. Later, Rebekah tries to open the windows to get out, but they are locked. She hears the sound of wind behind her, and looks down at the floor to see that the lettered tiles have moved to spell "Who are you". She pronounces her name and waits for an answer, but it never comes. When she turns around, she sees a spirit of a girl with blonde hair. She screams, and the blonde Kindred witch and the nurse come into her room. Rebekah accidentally knocks her pillow on the floor, revealing the pills she had pretended to take she had hidden underneath. The nurse comes to restrain her, but Rebekah shoves him on the bed and bits his neck, realizing how disgusting human blood is. When the blonde witch rushes toward her, she throws her into a nearby dresser, where she falls unconscious. Suddenly, the spirit appears again in the doorway before walking up the stairs, and Rebekah quickly decides to follow her, running up the stairs as fast as she can, hoping the ghost is a friendly one. The spirit passes through the locked door, but when Rebekah tries to open it, she finds that there is no doorknob. She pounds on the door, but it still won't open. When she turns away, the door opens itself and she quickly walks through it. She sees a dusty coffin with a clear lid. However, a witch appears behind her and takes her back to her room. The two blonde Kindred witches carry Rebekah back into her room and lay her down onto her bed before leaving.

Rebekah meets Freya

In Sanctuary, Rebekah approaches Cassie. She shows her an apple, which she stole. Cassie, appalled, refuses to take it. Rebekah tells her that she doesn't plan on spending another day in the asylum and has got an idea on how to get out, by channeling something strong, like the girl in a coffin in the attic. She becomes intrigued by a girl who has recently arrived and is amused by her description of cartoons. Rebekah gives the girl her apple, tells her to enjoy herself and leaves. Rebekah and Cassie were discussing their plan, while they saw the newcomer being beaten by a kindred witch. Rebekah gets up and punches the witch in the face. She is punished by the kindred witch, who picks up a fireplace poker and slams it on her hand. Rebekah tells Freya that girls got to stick together. At night, Rebekah looks for Cassie goes to the attic. She sees the deceased body of a kindred witch. Cassie and other kindred witches come and try to kill her, blaming her for the witch's death, but Freya steps in and executes all of them. They walk in the yard, when Freya reveals that they are sisters and helps her escape the cottage. Rebekah arrives at The abattoir and greets Klaus, telling him that he wouldn't believe the week she had.

In The Devil is Damned, Rebekah is seen looking at her portrait, telling Klaus that her chin doesn't look delicate enough. Elijah, Klaus and Rebekah have discussion about Freya. Rebekah tells them that Freya might be lying, but she felt too familiar. Klaus keeps asking her questions she doesn't have answers to, which frustrates her. She finds out that Hayley is getting married and asks her brother to fill her in on what she's missed. Later, she is seen wandering in the compound, looking for Klaus. He informs her that Finn has Marcel, but doesn't know why. Suddenly, Kol comes in. Rebekah is angry at him for his betrayal, telling him that she won't help him until she's back into her body. However, the news that he's dying shocks her. She believes that Kol isn't lying, because he never did that as a child. They prepare for a spell, but when Rebekah gets offended, her outburst causes wind to blow, making her realize that she is not good as a witch. Rebekah asks for Kol and Klaus to stop arguing, but when she intervenes, Kol casts a pain-infliction spell on her. Rebekah tells Klaus that he's temper might cause his downfall. When Klaus realizes that Finn is trying to find Hope, Rebekah tells him that she's safe, as it will take the power of 100 witches to break the cloaking spell. Kol comes back and throws powder into her face, causing her to go limp and fall. Klaus, Kol and Rebekah arrive at the bell tower, but don't find Finn there. Rebekah sees runic tiles and realizes that Finn tricked them, as he know where Hope was all along. Kol has a plan to overpower Finn, to the point that he won't be able to handle the power he's channeling. Rebekah, even though reluctant at first, agrees to his plan. Kol promises to get her back into her body, but Rebekah tells him to focus on what they're doing now and about the fact that she doesn't know anything about magic. Kol and Rebekah channel dark objects to overpower Finn, but are unsuccessful. Klaus tells them to channel him, they do so and successfully overpower Finn. Like Finn, they are overpowered and the impact throws them backwards on the floor. Rebekah wakes up and helps Kol to get up, she hugs him and praises him for being a genius and promises to find a way to save him, whatever it takes. After Klaus wakes up, he thanks Kol and Rebekah for their help. Rebekah is worried about Elijah, but Klaus assures her that he will prevail without a doubt.

In I Love You, Goodbye, Rebekah tells Hayley she won't be able to attend her nuptials because of Kol's life and death situation. Rebekah then pulls out a white laced dress and lets Hayley use it for the wedding. She then goes to the cemetery to do a spell with Kol, but Kol gets frustrated and tells her that the hex is latched on like a vice. Rebekah and Davina go through many spells, but the hex will block it. She then arrives at the compound and tells Klaus that Kol won't make it through the night. She, Klaus and Elijah arrive at the Claire crypt and Rebekah tells Kol that they will consecrate him and she'll find a way to bring him back. Kol then dies and Davina, Rebekah, Klaus and Elijah then cry for him.

In They All Asked For You, a group of witches tried to kill Rebekah, mistaking her for her host, Eva. After being attacked by Ruben Morris, who explained some of Eva's history, Rebekah gained access to files about Eva's history and finally learned about the life of the person she was possessing. Later, while Rebekah was sleeping at Marcel's home, Eva somehow regained control of her body and woke up. She went out into the witch marketplace and attacked a young witch who was in the alley with her boyfriend. She ended up slitting the throat of the girl's boyfriend and carving a sigil thought to be used in sacrificial magic on the forehead of the witch, though she did assure the girl that she wouldn't be killing her until after she had channeled all of her magic. Later on during the night Rebekah took control of her body again although not before Eva dumped her latest victim into a abandoned warehouse.

2x16 Save My Soul-Rebekah-Eva

Rebekah loses control of Eva's body

In Save My Soul, Rebekah wakes up in Marcel's apartment to yelling coming from outside of the window. She attempts to peek out to see what the racket is, but Marcel rushes in and blocks her, before she gets any closer to the glass. Marcel tells her that he's gonna handle things and to stay put. A few minutes later, Rebekah appears outside, much to the annoyance of Marcel, stating that she hates being told what to do and chose to ignore his orders. She attempts to pledge innocent to the witches, and when they don't believe her and try to attack, Elijah steps in and encourages everyone to leave. Soon after that, Rebekah visits Kol's old playhouse, seeking out Davina's help regarding the strange dreams she's been having. Davina gestures to the spell books in front of her, saying that she's sure there's something in here that could help her. Rebekah calls Elijah as she's leaving the tomb, and he tells her that she should be here. She replies that she's on her way, before harshly falling to the ground, knocking herself unconscious. Hours later, her phone begins to ring, causing her to wake up. When she picks up the phone and realizes it's Elijah, Elijah states that he expected her to come home hours ago and asked her what happened. Rebekah replied that she didn't know, and moments later realized what had happened. She managed to make her way home and explained to her brothers that Eva was trying to bust her way out. After that, Elijah and Rebekah went to seek out their elder sister's help as Klaus slowed the process with his insults towards her. Klaus eventually snapped Freya's neck, forcing Elijah and Rebekah to try and get help elsewhere. The two reached Marcel's apartment and finally meet Vincent Griffith, the old vessel for their brother Finn. Vincent informs them that Rebekah's current body was the body of his wife. After leaving his apartment, Marcel escorts Rebekah to her bedroom in the compound where Rebekah confessed that because she's quite vulnerable, or weak even, she's genuinely afraid. As Marcel gets up to get her a drink, she begins to have flashes of memory and starts gasping for air. Rebekah realized that she didn't wanna be alone in her current condition, and asks if Marcel doesn't mind staying.

In Exquisite Corpse, Marcel is standing guard over Rebekah while she sleeps. In her dreams, she is her child self and running from Eva, with the two of them mentally fighting for control over the body. She wakes, and it is revealed Eva has taken full control, with Rebekah trapped inside. Eva escapes after trying to take Hope, and Klaus sends Marcel after her with the shackles while going on to ask Freya to put Rebekah back in her body. Freya reveals that she is unable to do so until Eva's consciousness is dormant and Rebekah is in control again, otherwise they will lose Rebekah for good. After Vincent follows Eva to find out where the children are and knocks her out, Marcel, Elijah, Vincent and Freya start a spell to retrieve Rebekah from Eva's mind and end Eva once and for all. Freya channels Elijah - and later Klaus - to send Marcel and Vincent into her mind. While Vincent confronts Eva, Marcel searches for Rebekah, finding a young manifestation of her hiding deep in Eva's mind. When Eva comes, Marcel tells her to run and Vincent and Marcel continue to fight off Eva. When it looks like she is getting the other hand, young Rebekah appears, stabbing Eva and destroying her spirit, enabling her to take control of the body once more - now the only host. Later, Klaus tells her that he'll get Freya to put her back in her original body, but Rebekah rejects this, sighting several reasons as to why she needs to remain a witch - to protect the lives of the children tied to the body until they can be unlinked and so she can continue trying to bring Kol back to life.

In Night Has A Thousand Eyes, Freya tutors her in witchcraft since Rebekah never tapped into it thus never learned in her first life.

In When the Levee Breaks, Rebekah is still mourning the death of her father, while being tired and hung over from the night before. Klaus wanted to discuss the next move they're to make in order to defeat Dahlia, but due to her unhappiness with the last move Klaus made, she was uninterested with what he had to say. She goes to find Freya in the cemetery and watches as she sets up a memorial for their father. Rebekah tries to make excuses on behalf of their brother, but Freya refused to accept her excuses and tells her that she and Elijah can either choose to be on her side, or Klaus'. After her talk with Freya, Rebekah seeks out Marcel and rants to him about what had happened between her and her sister. He tries to reassure her that the family has been through worse, and that they'll get through it. When Rebekah and Marcel hear of Aiden's death, they realize that Klaus is a bigger problem than they thought. Davina enters the apartment with the dagger she and Kol made, and tells Marcel that she wants him and Rebekah to put Klaus down.

In City Beneath The Sea, Marcel drags Rebekah into the Saint James Infirmary in order to keep her and the eight teenage witches that are linked to her, safe. Once Vincent arrives, he begins to try to reverse the spell before Elijah comes in, requiring Rebekah's help with a complex spell. Rebekah, Davina and Camille begin to search some of Kol's old grimoires before Rebekah finds Davina's attempt at a resurrection spell. After recalling something Kol tried to do to save his life, Rebekah realized that was the breakthrough in the spell, and the three became hopeful that their plan could work.

In Fire with Fire, Rebekah helps distract Dahlia by creating a fake version of Hope through a spell that she had to constantly chant. However she is interrupted by a compelled Marcel interrupts her spell, causing the fake Hope to disintegrate in Freya's arms, exposing their plan to kill Dahlia. Marcel then brings Rebekah through to Klaus. Later, Rebekah is a prisoner unable to do magic as Klaus put magic preventing shackles on her. Her and Marcel try to think of loopholes through Marcel's compulsion. If she was to leave, he was compelled to kill her. Rebekah's theory was that this was all part of Klaus' plan and that if she killed herself, that she would just return to her original body. Marcel doesn't want to take that chance and attempts to convince her not to go through with killing herself. To Marcel's surprise, Rebekah quickly grabs a blade and jabs it into her neck, killing her.

In Ashes to Ashes, Marcel awaits Rebekah's awakening back in her original body, but at first, she just appears to be laying there, until she suddenly awakens, surprising Marcel. She then lunges towards her phone as Klaus is calling. Rebekah, quickly goes downstairs to stop Elijah. Elijah is pleased to see his sister back in her original body, but soon changes the subject when he questions why Hayley isn't answering her cell. Not long after that, Elijah and Rebekah go to dig up their dead mother. Rebekah then interrupts Davina's resurrection spell, however, Davina doesn't seem to be happy that Rebekah has "given up" on resurrecting Kol. Rebekah insists that that isn't the case and leads her away from the resurrection. Rebekah tries to explain to Davina that she had to return to her old body in order to help her brothers. Davina refuses to listen and uses magic on her, breaking parts of her body, making Rebekah scream in pain. It is later revealed that Rebekah was just distracting Davina so that Elijah could replace Kol's ashes with Esther's. Once Davina, unknowingly resurrects Esther, Rebekah makes Davina pass out while Elijah swoops in and places magic resistant chains on Esther's wrists. Later, with her half-brother, Klaus, and with Elijah following closely behind dragging Esther behind him, interrupt Dahlia's attempt at killing Freya. After Dahlia has finished her speech, she holds up the White Oak Stake and points it at Klaus. He responds with that she only had one stake. Dahlia then raises the stake into the air, destroying it and turning it into dust, causing the Original Vampires to start to choke on it as it was starting to get lodged in their lungs, subsequently killing them from the inside out. Esther then leaps to the rescue, and tries to talk Dahlia down, and to Dahlia's surprise, Esther wraps her chains around her neck giving Freya the chance to use her magic to force the dust out of Rebekah, Klaus and Elijah's lungs, saving them. Klaus then, used his werewolf-vampire hybrid speed, stabs both Esther and Dahlia, killing them both. The next day, Rebekah approaches Freya and discovers that she has healed Eva's body so that if Rebekah wanted, she could return to that body and have a family like she always wanted. Later, Marcel approaches a car which is being loaded by Rebekah's witch body.

Rebekah reveals the history of the house, including the deaths that occurred there. Rebekah remarks that she could do with some fresh blood, and calls Kol to aid her. Unbeknown to her, however, Kol is the one in possession of the totem.

Just as Rebekah is about to enter the LaForge House, Marcel appears, stopping her from entering and warning her that it is dangerous. Rebekah tells Marcel to leave, that Kol is on his way, but Marcel refuses. As they enter the house, Kol remarks that the totem isn't here, that he has already searched the house. Sometime later, in New York City, she is surprised to see that Marcel has given up his kingship of New Orleans in order to finally be with her.

In Where You Left Your Heart, it is seven years later and Rebekah is living with Marcel in New York City. Marcel blindfolds her and hands her a glass of champagne. He removes the blindfold and says he is presenting her with four objects and a question. The first object is a wedding dress that Rebekah came across at some point. She laughs and says she remembers it and that it was hideous. Marcel agrees but also points out that Rebekah couldn't take her eyes off of it. He went back later to get it. The second object is a drawing. It is a house that Marcel designed for them. The third object is her old fencing sword. Marcel recalls that he was a boy, he promised that he would marry her someday. Rebekah responds that she could never marry a man who couldn't best her. Marcel says that the past few years together has taught him something. He doesn't want to be behind her, or ahead of her, he wants to be beside her. With that being said, he presents the final object-an engagement ring. He gets down on one knee and asks her the question, "Rebekah Mikaelson, delicate as lace, elegant as a fine home, tough as polished steel, and the love of all my lives. Will you marry me?"

Marcel figured that she would be an emotional mess, so he came up with an idea. Two envelopes, one reads "if you say yes" and the other "if you say no." He holds up the yes one and says that it should be an easy decision. Rebekah agrees that it should be, but the situation with her family still weighs in her mind. Later, Rebekah is in the bathtub and Marcel walks to confront her. Marcel points out to her that she didn't yes, but she didn't say no either. Marcel is upset because in his mind he knocked his proposal out of the park. He accuses Rebekah of waiting on a better offer. Rebekah pleads with him to not make it about him. Marcel asks how long are they supposed to put their lives on hold waiting on her family, but Marcel never truly left New Orleans behind. Rebekah knows that he has been secretly texting Josh. However, Elijah remarks that he is not sure he felt anything for her, but it was only an excuse to maintain always and forever. The storm begins to escalate, and Hope begins to take the power from the siblings, leaving them unconscious on the floor. Not long after, Marcel appears, having found Elijah's key.

They open the door and enter the corridor with the red door at the end, while Kol remarks they are in Elijah's mental maze. Klaus tries to leave, and Rebekah scorns him, telling him they can't just leave him there as they made a vow. Klaus remarks that he made a vow to his brother, but Elijah is no longer his brother.

Rebekah remarks that Elijah is no different than Klaus, and she remembers when their mother used to braid her hair; and then he killed her. Rebekah admits that they are capable of terrible things, but also of forgiveness. Klaus tells Rebekah to go through her door, they'll be right behind her. When she enters her door, she awakens on the floor of St. Anne's Church. After Klaus and Elijah return, Rebekah watches on as Elijah, having gotten his memories back, cries at his part in Hayley's death.

Marcel and Rebekah kiss goodbye

At the end of the episode, Rebekah joins Marcel on a balcony to watch over New Orleans. The two see an old couple, and Rebekah admits that she wants the same, to die an old lady, but she'll never have it. Marcel remarks that she's been given so much more, they are able to see empires rise and fall and history change. With this, she admits that she loves Marcel and kisses him goodbye.

TO511-058~Freya-Hayley

Rebekah comforts a distraught Freya

In Til the Day I Die, it is Freya's wedding, and Rebekah appears to comfort a distraught Freya, who is upset after telling Keelin that she does not want children. Freya believes that she is toxic and broken, especially as she is a Mikaelson. However, Rebekah retorts that they are damaged, but they are not their parents; their children would not suffer the same fate they did. With this, Rebekah is able t convince Freya to talk with Keelin about the future possibility of having children.

At the wedding venue, Rebekah arrives after speaking with Kol to break the news that the Hollow is destroying Hope from the inside out, and that it is only a matter of time before it kills her. Rebekah appears distraught as she reveals to Klaus that Hope could be dead in a matter of hours.

At the wedding, Rebekah talks with Marcel, who she last saw in Where You Left Your Heart. She asks Marcel whether he imagined their next meeting being at a wedding, to which he replies that the relationship between the two is never really over. Rebekah reveals that she hopes not.

TO513-060-Kol-Rebekah

Kol and Rebekah argue at the border

In When The Saints Go Marching In, Rebekah is present when Klaus is chained up in the Garden for attempting to kill himself and the Hollow. She argues with Kol, who thinks that Klaus has finally gotten what he deserves; however, she disagrees. Shortly after, as Kol tries to leave New Orleans, she stands in the road, blocking him from leaving. The two argue again, as Kol wishes to return home to Davina, while also making it clear that Rebekah is unhappy because she will not choose happiness herself. Rebekah remarks that Kol is less of a man than she thought.

Later, Rebekah jokes with Marcel about having three brothers who are doomed, while Marcel retorts that the Mikaelsons have always been a mess, yet he wanted to badly to be one of them. In the moment, Rebekah realizes that Kol was right, happiness is a choice and she kisses and sleeps with Marcel. Not long after, they begin to reminisce about Klaus' past, and Kol arrives having taken her advice, and she remarks that "the prodigal son returns".

Klaus retorts that they should have one last dinner for his funeral. At the dinner, Rebekah engages in one of their families traditions, burning wishes. Rebekah, along with all of the Mikaelsons burn a slip of paper with a wish on it. After this ceremony, Klaus says goodbye to his family, which upsets Rebekah.

TO513-154~Klaus-Rebekah

Along with Klaus and Elijah, Rebekah returns to where it all started, the bench in the French Quarter. She, visibly upset, says her goodbyes to Klaus. Klaus admits that he regrets denying her happiness all those years. With that, she hands Marcel one of the envelopes he had given her prior; the one that says "if you say yes", and the two agree to marry.

Throughout Legacies Series[]

Season Four[]

In I Thought You'd Be Happier To See Me, Rebekah finds Hope at a bar about to drink from another patron. Hope isn't happy to see her, though Rebekah is. Rebekah doesn't care for Brandy's attitude, and compels her to run along and change the music. Freya has told her what happened and she apologizes for missing her big day. She wants to catch up with her niece, but Hope retorts if she's here for a Mikaelson lecture. Rebekah has prided herself as the fun aunt. They catch up over drinks, particularly Brandy.

As they catchup, Hope pushes Rebekah to finish her drink. Hope pulls Brandy's hair back, but Rebekah decides against it, that she's almost empty. Hope offers to pop open another for more fun. Rebekah compels the girl to forget and leave; she's done with the charde. She reminds Hope that she has a family that loves her and urges her to come home with her. Hope refuses, citing that she doesn't know what she's going through. Rebekah questions if being a tribrid is so different from being a vampire, though Hope explains that it's not what she's missing. Rebekah realizes that she's missing her humanity.

Outside the bar in the alleyway, Hope retches the large amounts of alcohol and blood. Rebekah attempts to help her, but she brushes her off. Her humanity is off, which by Rebekah's understanding wasn't even by her choice. Hope still believes that it's the best thing to happen to her, but her aunt doesn't buy it. Hope craves freedom and to choose her own fate. Such is the blessing of immortality, but it's also the curse. She explains that when her emotions are heightened, being a vampire is indescribably beautiful, but she asks her what is the point if she can't appreciate it. Hope wants her to answer that, because she's the one wanting to be human again. Rebekah, however, has lived for over a thousand years and has experienced everything the world and being a vampire can offer, except those that being a vampire make impossible. She admits that she was envious when Niklaus and Hayley had the miracle that she is. However, she would gladly give up that dream and give her the Cure, if she wanted it. Hope calls her a hypocrite and tells her to stop being a martyr, like her father. Hope retches again, as Rebekah admits that she is a hypocrite. She's always hated it when Klaus daggered her. Taking a White Oak Ash dagger from her coat, she turns Hope around and forces the blade into her heart, desiccating.

Rebekah loads Hope into her car. The bartender believes that she's trying to leave without paying her tab. Rebekah quips that she'll settle with him in a minute, but before she can finish, the bartender vamps behind her and snaps her neck.

Eventually, Rebekah wakes wondering if Hope was really going to leave her dumped on the side of the road. They're still family, but Hope questions what good is family if they just stab you in the back. She throws the dagger at her feet, explaining that it doesn't work too well on a tribrid. Rebekah had to try, just like her father would have tried. She doesn't want to talk about her father. He's dead, because of family, love and her. She warns her that she should stop acting like him, but Rebekah retorts that she should take her own advice. She admits she's her father's daughter, but won't make the same mistakes. She believes that Klaus would be so ashamed and attempts to leave. Before she does, Hope gives her back her necklace. She believes it's spelled, probably by Freya, and likely how she found her. She takes Rebekah's car, leaving her stranded.

In Everything That Can Be Lost May Also Be Found, Rebekak greets Hope outside of Rousseau's. She reassures Hope that everything lost, can be found. Hope retorts with a threat, but she disregards it, welcoming her home. She mistakes it for a veiled reference to her humanity, and tells her it's never coming back.

Hope believes her aunt to be in her head and wants to wake up from this nightmare. Rebehkah points out that she had just believed it was a memory, but Hope shrugs it off. She's had a rough couple of days. Rebekah is already aware, having been in contact with Dr. Saltzman. Hope wasn't even aware they were on speaking terms, pointing out that no one for their family ever makes it to the parent-teacher conferences. She admits to her niece that they've been more absent than they'd like, but there are reasons for that, too. The Least of which was her treat of murder at their last meeting. Regardless, she'd like to apologize. Hope mocks her, wondering if that was her big swing to flip her humanity, but Rebekah questions why she brought it up. She's sure her humanity is flickering and trying to return. She explains to Hope that this is not a nightmare, or a memory, or a head dive. It's astral projection. Vincent is anchoring the spell, so while her body may be intangible, they are truly in New Orleans, and everything is very real. With this information, Hope decides she'll leave, but Rebekah tells her that she'll miss the show. Hope notices the Second Line and notes that she hasn't killed her yet and they're early. This, however, has been long overdue. She explains that it's for her father and his funeral is today.

Hope follows Rebekah into Rousseau's. Despite going for nostalgia, all she's getting is the smell. Rebekah has other plans and uncovers an urn. She questions if that is supposed to be her dad, though believes it to be a staged, sad attempt at a cautionary tale. Rebekah doesn't understand and she explains that Landon had shown her something from Star Wars similar to this once before and it was a means to show what happens if they went down the wrong path. Rebekah reassures her that it's real and these are his ashes. Hope still doesn't believe her because he and Elijah had staked each other off at Jackson Square. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust and they were carried off on the wind. That is true, which explains why it took so long for them to retrieve the ashes. Hope questions if she's supposed to believe that she's been vamping all over town for the past three years collecting his ashes. Though it does sound ridiculous, it has its truth. They've used magic to accomplish this task. Freya appears from behind, remarking that one day they'll meet under happier circumstances.

Hope is surprised by the intervention, noting they probably should have had one in the family before now. Rebekah and Freya are trying to be honest and employ her to do the same. Hope mocks her, retorting she now knows why her father daggered her all the time. Likewise, turning to Freya, she wonders if she feels guilty for being the one who killed her. Freya was only trying to respect her wishes and she believed she was strong enough to handle it. Hope tells her that she is strong enough, but Freya reminds her that being feared and being strong are two different things. Hope rhetorically asks if she was scared after she threatened the family, wondering if that's the reason her son is absent. Freya was, and still is, sad for her. Rebekah tells her that the Mikaelsons have done terrible things over the centuries and that they are very much the same. However, where they differ is that they've all come to realize that, no matter how powerful they are, their greatest strength is family. Her father made them see that. That is why Freya named her son after him, and the name he had given to her has meaning, too. Maybe she will understand that if she ever chooses to become a parent. Hope believes she doesn't get that choice, because it was taken from her when she turned; however, Freya and Rebekah believe otherwise, because Klaus was able to father a child with Hayley. It could be possible for her to conceive a child too, and they mean to bring her hope.

Hope returns with Marcel. Rebekah and Freya have prepared a meal, having hoped that she's return. Hope doesn't plan to stay for dinner, believing that Vincent will lift the spell keeping her here. She's just come to say goodbye. Rebekah makes a face, revealing that he's told a story to Hope. As Freya sets an extra plate, Kol arrives just in time. Hope quips that he's late and she's tired of not being surprised. Regardless, he's happy to come to see his favorite niece because they need her help. Kol explains that they're trying to decide where to spread her father's ashes and they're bickering about what to do. The only solution they could agree upon was to leave it up to her. Hope accepts and immediately suggests tossing them in the garbage can, though Marcel deducts ten points. She doesn't care about his game and questions why this decision is up to her. Freya tells her that Kol speaks the truth. They don't know what to do without her. Likewise, Kol tells her that Klaus would have wanted it this way. Hope doesn't but Rebekah questions why she remains. Hope believes it's because Vincent's holding her hostage with the astral projection spell. However, Marcel explains that he's only anchoring the spell to New Orleans and she could have left anytime she wanted. Hope doesn't understand why she can't leave, but Freya tells her that it's because she doesn't really want to, at least not all of her. Rebekah advises that perhaps if she answered their question earnestly, then she'll be able to leave. Sitting down at the table, she takes a moment and gives her answer. Although it's a bit selfish, she knows that her father saw the entire world and New Orleans was his home. Before that was Mystic Falls and he built a school for her. If it was up to her, she'd want him with her so that she could find the perfect spot. That way, he could always be near. In the trees or on the breeze. Looking around to one another, Kol declares this is how it will be. Kol mentions that Davina was gutted when she couldn't come and suggests they could pay a visit, while Freya tells her that it will give them all an excuse to visit her more. They tell her they love her, always and forever. Hope questions if it worked because she's still here. They watch and share looks as she appears to interact with her humanity.

Human Rebekah

"Being a human means a fresh start. I can grow old and have a family and fill my days with meaning, knowing that each one matters."
—Rebekah to Elijah in Pictures of You
In the flashbacks that show Rebekah before being turned into a vampire, she is a caring, supportive and overall sweet teenage girl. Like the rest of her siblings, she was scared of her father and often witnessed her brother being abused by Mikael, to a point that she even tried to kill him, unable to tolerate her father's abusive nature towards Niklaus anymore. She had desired The Cure so that she could become human again and fulfill her dreams of having kids and family of her own. The closest she came to this was when she became the guardian of Hope Mikaelson. This pushed Rebekah to desire a family of her own, to the point were she said that she would find it hard to return Hope to her parents.

Rebekah

"I learned that she's just a girl; that she lost her mum to young and she loves recklessly and blindly even if it consumes her"
Elena about Rebekah.

Initially, Rebekah's personality in the series is erratic, spiteful and vindictive. After being turned, the aspects of her personality were heightened. Rebekah mentions this, saying, "We're vampires. Our emotions are heightened. I'm stubborn, Elijah moral, and Nik. Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him". After her mother's death, Rebekah grieves deeply, sometimes crying herself to sleep calling out her mother's name, as said by Esther. After spending centuries with Klaus, with whom she shares a close bond with, she has become dependent on him, although she is not fond of him making decisions for her.

Rebekah1x169

Rebekah's Vampire face

Because of the heartbreak she has endured, Rebekah has built up an emotional wall and she comes across as being cruel, aggressive, brutal and mean. Despite her aggressive and brutal nature, she has shown to be emotionally fragile. In reference to Rebekah, Elena says, "I learned that she is just a girl and that she lost her mom too young. And she loves blindly and recklessly, even if it consumes her". She very much wants to be like a normal teenager and longs to have the normal teenage life she missed out on. Rebekah is also shown to be very punctual, as she showed up on time to clean up the dance that she organized, but didn't attend due to the incident with Esther and reprimanded Caroline for showing up two minutes late.

Rebekah fears being left alone and she doesn't believe it when people treat her kind as a friend or a lover. Over the centuries, she was let down by her half-brother Klaus and her lover Stefan. She is just a lonely girl who wants someone who actually cares about her. Rebekah had her heart melted when she saw Stefan and Elena's devotion to each other, possibly because she wanted to be in a similar relationship.

She grew closer to Matt Donovan in the fourth season, and his influence seemed to rub off on her. She was not as spiteful and arrogant as she was before and was willing to assist the main gang whenever she was needed. Despite her rivalry with Caroline, she didn't hesitate on saving her life by harshly knocking her out of her trance. Finally, the inner good within herself shined through when she saved Matt from being blown to pieces by Alexander.

However, Rebekah can be just as bad as her half-brother Klaus, although she is intelligent and calculating, Rebekah is extremely reckless and impulsive far more then Klaus; although Klaus is known to be reckless and impulsive, he never does something to draw unwanted attention to himself, like when she summoned Mikael to New Orleans to "kill" Klaus because she could no longer take his cruelty, she had a change of heart, however, it was too late, as this action of hers, not only backfired but Mikael also burned New Orleans to the ground.

Despite being over 1000 years old, she is still childish and immature; evident by the fact that she is very naïve, according to Klaus, Rebekah's temper is worse than his, she has also stated that she inherited her temper from her father; hinting that Rebekah has a bad temper.

Ever since moving to New Orleans, Rebekah has shown a lot more of her inner humanity. She has shown a special affection for Hayley and the baby she is carrying, breaking Tyler Lockwood's neck when he outwardly threatened the baby's life. She has also supported for Hayley when she needed her help, and Hayley was among the few people that Rebekah said goodbye to, hoping that she would tell crazy stories about her to her unborn niece and asking Hayley to give the child her love. She sympathized with the young witch Davina and made sure that Marcel and her brothers didn't get their hands on her during the Casket Girls festival. She silently berated Klaus for costing the life of an innocent human in his attempt to prove a point to Davina. Even in flashbacks, her capacity for heroism is evident, having saved young women who were about to be taken advantage of by men of ill will. She has even saved Matt Donovan from the safe he was trapped in and greeted him with a smile. She sent Tyler Lockwood to him has a parting gift. Rebekah's past eventually caught up (when her treachery for bringing Mikael to New Orleans is exposed) with her and this caused her to try every way possible to escape her half-brother's clutches, she tells him she only wanted to force him to run but he forces her to say she wanted him dead. She was exiled from New Orleans, but optimistic of a bright future that awaits her.

Rebekah returns to New Orleans to take her niece, Hope, and keep her safe from Esther. She has exhibited a light-hearted and warm air upon meeting her beloved brothers again, as if the bad blood between them didn't matter in the slightest.

It appeared that upon leaving New Orleans with baby Hope, Rebekah was a nurturing and gentle guardian, often telling Hope stories of her family and parents, referring to them as a fairy tale with Klaus the 'king' and Hope his 'princess'. Rebekah was also seen playing with Hope at the park, enjoying the human-like life she was experiencing.

Later on, it became evident that Rebekah was willing to do anything to keep her niece safe, even if this included becoming violent towards those related to her. Upon meeting Elijah at the cafe where the exchange of baby Hope would occur, Rebekah saw the massacre that Elijah had performed in the cafe kitchen. Fearing for Hopes life, Rebekah resorted to temporarily killing Elijah.

It was also shown that still after failing to get the cure, Rebekah still longs for the human life. Rebekah, went on to mention that she feared the time when she would have to return Hope to her parents, after spending so much time together and experiencing a human life.

"I decided not to decide. Not yet. I will use the advantages this body has while I search for a way to bring back Kol, and then, who knows?"
—Rebekah to Marcel Gerard in Ashes to Ashes

Rebekah was put inside Eva Sinclair in The Map of Moments, instantly terrified and startled as she realizes she was trapped inside Dowager Fauline Cottage.

Rebekah has a hard time adjusting to her mortality as well as to her new-found magic, as she is seen trying to bite someone on impulse, only to discover that the taste of blood is disgusting in her new body. She still retains her fighting skills, only she is now much more weaker and slower, however, she is quick to adjust to her new body as well as to the fact that she is a witch.

It appears that Rebekah likes being a witch as she took Freya's offer in Ashes to Ashes, to put her back into Eva Sinclair's body but it is only until she finds a way to resurrect her deceased brother, Kol. In Beautiful Mistake, she found a witch who gave her a spell and the ingredients to bring back Kol but later, Aya slits her witch body's throat and wakes back into her original body. The papers containing the spell were set on fire and Rebekah was daggered by Aya.

Rebekah

Rebekah is a beautiful and very attractive woman and has natural light blonde hair, light blue eyes, full lips, and pale light skin with a small dusting of freckles across her cheeks and nose. She is a tall and slim Caucasian female. She's over 1000-years old, but looks like she is about 16 or 17 years old teenage girl. When Rebekah is in her vampiric form, her eyes will turn red with small veins protruding around the area of her eyes and her teeth will lengthen into fangs, possibly longer than that of regular vampires. Her eyes also seem a lot redder than normal vampires.

Rebekah1x03

Rebekah

In terms of fashion sense, Rebekah is often seen wearing stylish and mature clothing with trendy coats and fashionable jewelry, such as long necklaces and pendants or dangle earrings. She is mostly seen wearing the colors of white, black, brown or gray. She often wears low-heeled boots and shoes with dark jeans or leggings. As a human and early years as an Original vampire, she was very in-tuned with fashion and her style was very "in" to the times, for example in the 1920s, Rebekah wore the classic "flapper" dresses with long pearl necklaces and matching jewelry.

Rebekah has long, icy blonde-hair, which is usually naturally wavy; however, she can occasionally be seen with straight or curled hair or pulled back in a casual style, rarely wearing any hair accessories. In early centuries, Rebekah had long, waist length hair with braids and flowers; however her hair changes with the times.

During special occasions, such as dances and balls, Rebekah wears very elegant dresses, for example, at the Mikaelson's Ball she wore a beautiful green one-shoulder dress. However, she mainly wears slacks and jeans and has an overall very formal sense of style. Rebekah's makeup usage is minimal, subtle daily; but she tends to wear more for special occasions.

Powers and Abilities[]

TO309 1901Elijah-Rebekah

Elijah struggles to subdue Rebekah

Rebekah possesses all of the standard powers of an Original Vampire. Rebekah is currently the strongest female vampire alive and one of the strongest vampires in the world, perhaps with the exception of her older brother, Kol. Previously, Rebekah was weaker than her hybrid brother Klaus, until his death. Due to her Original Vampire status, the powers Rebekah possesses are stronger than those of a non-Original surpassing in strength, even the most ancient ones, like Aurora De Martel, who was the first vampire she ever sired. She was easily capable of subduing both Damon and Stefan Salvatore, both of whom are almost two centuries old and very skilled fighters, Marcel Gerard and Katherine Pierce to name a few.

Rebekah is shown to be a skilled operator of mind compulsion. Throughout the series, she has been shown to compel people to do her bidding. A testament to her skills with this ability is when she compelled Tyler Lockwood to turn without the full moon after becoming a hybrid. Although being inferior to her brother Klaus, Rebekah has been shown on many occasions to stand up to him without fear, however, she has been easily subdued by Klaus on many occasions. Due to her advanced age, Rebekah has a higher threshold for werewolf venom than any other non-Original vampire. She was seen able to kill many fully transformed werewolves on a full moon, before being finally subdued herself. This shows her physical strength as Rose-Marie, despite being over five hundred and sixty years old, failed to defeat even one werewolf.

The originals 3x06 Rebecca Freya vs The Strix

Rebekah fights the Strix.

Rebekah has subdued almost every non-Original vampire she has encountered. The only times she has been defeated was when they had the element of surprise, but she was quick to turn the outcome of the battle around. It has been shown that Rebekah possesses an adequate skill in hand-to-hand combat, being able to kill many members of the The Strix and hold her own against the very skilled fighter Aya — despite having not fed for six months.

In Savior, It was shown that Rebekah is an extremely strong vampire. She was able to fight hybrid Hayley Marshall-Kenner with ease to the point of her near death. Rebekah was also able to subdue Elijah, an equally powerful vampire, easily by snapping his neck. When infected with the cursed stake, it took both Klaus and Elijah — both extremely skilled and powerful Original Vampires — to restrain a rabid Rebekah, showing the power she possesses.

Rebekah2.0
Rebekah was an untapped witch prior to her transition into an Original vampire. When she was placed into a witch's body, she had the powers of one, such as when she first perform a spell with Cassie in order to send her brothers a message. The spell immediately started working, however, before it could take effect, they were both interrupted. She also displayed an inability to control her magic, as seen when she accidentally caused a magical wind to blow away the locator spell she and Kol were preparing upon him calling her untrained. However, she later did manage (with Kol's help) to perform a spell which allowed her and Kol to channel the power of dozens of dark objects, the white oak stake and Klaus himself in order to overload Finn's power source. This weakened him significantly. She later attempted a locator spell with Freya, in order to locate their aunt Dahlia, however, she interrupted the spell upon learning of Freya's connection to Dahlia. Rebekah and Davina performed various spells in their attempt to create a decoy of Hope, eventually creating a golem. Rebekah stayed in her witch-body until she was killed which caused her spirit to transfer back into her Original, vampiric body.

Weaknesses[]

Rebekah has the typical weaknesses of an Original vampire. While in the body of Eva Sinclair, Rebekah had the typical weaknesses of a witch.

Relationships[]

Klaus and Rebekah

Klaus is Rebekah's older half-brother. Out of all his siblings, he is closest to her and he cares very deeply for her, although he seems to have a lot of difficulty showing her his affection. They are loyal to each other. They have never left each other's side and stood by one another through thick and thin. After Klaus was "supposedly" killed by Alaric in The Departed, Rebekah is heartbroken after losing her older half-brother, whom she loved very much and who never left her side. When she finds out in the season four premiere that he was still alive, their relationship started to completely and totally deteriorate when he chose to save Caroline over his own sister. Rebekah confronted him about how she never stopped loving him through everything; it was always her that was there for him when Finn, Kol and even Elijah weren't. She now realizes he truly doesn't love her when he tells her they are no longer family. Klaus is the one who daggered her and he's really used her in a way that's unforgivable. They have both attempted to exploit each other, but are also bound by their love and his feeling of wanting to protect her from her own weaknesses. Later in the season, Klaus saves her when Kol nearly tries to kill her with a White Oak Stake. Even when she hates him, he shows that he still cares and loves her regardless of what's happened between them.

Elijah Mikaelson[]

Rebekah and Elijah

Elijah is Rebekah's older brother. Her relationship with him has been very dysfunctional. Elijah is in the habit of being very critical towards Rebekah due to her actions. After she requests him to give her the cure for vampirism, Elijah agrees provided that she go a whole day without her vampire abilities. However they were tricked by Silas with Klaus' help. After finding out that Klaus is going to be a father, Elijah asks her to follow Klaus and him to New Orleans. She refuses to follow Elijah and help him. Elijah is without a doubt the brother Rebekah respects most out of all her brothers.

Kol comes back for Rebekah.

Kol is Rebekah's older brother and her partner in crime. They appear close, and thus, share a very positive and stable family relationship. They are the younger Mikaelson siblings and love doing mischief together. Kol is the only member of the family, who, despite personal differences, takes Rebekah's side, as he protects her from Klaus. Like Klaus, Kol also dislikes her lovers. Rebekah is seemingly Kol's favorite sibling; he is closer to her and trust her more. Rebekah is the person who knows seemingly Kol better than anyone else, she knows about his favorite holidays, when he's lying, or when he's telling the truth. He is her partner in crime. He helped her gain information from Shane about the cure until he found out that it involved Silas. Kol refused to have a part in it and wanted everyone to stop looking for the cure. Then Rebekah tried dagger Kol and threaten him, they both looked terribly upset, but obviously her attempt angered Kol and he almost killed her; but Klaus saved her. Later on, he is killed by Jeremy and Elena. Rebekah mourns the loss of her brother; but still wants to find the cure. When Kol returns from The Other Side, he is not happy to see her as she only mourned him for less than a day, which strains their relationship. When Kol possessed the body of Kaleb, and he finally saw Rebekah, they were really happy to see each other, even if it were on different sides. Rebekah said his name and told that she knew that smirk anywhere. Rebekah and Kol seems really close, because no matter what they still love each other. Kol truly cares about her and protects her. After Rebekah escaped the Witch Mansion she forgave Kol, but Kol did not feel guilty, because he taught his younger sister a lesson for her betrayal. Rebekah confessed that she likes Kol's soft side and then he promised her that he will get her back to her body even if it's the last thing he would do, and Rebekah said that she not gonna let him die, whatever it takes. She wanted to help him, but there was nothing she could do. She promised Kol that she would not leave the witch body until she brought him back from the New Orleans ancestors. He died in her arms. Later, when it became possible to go back to her body, she refused because of her vowed to return Kol, and she intends to keep the promise to bring back her brother. They're currently traveling together.

Mikael[]

Rebekah, the youngest daughter of Mikael and his favorite child. Mikael has always been cruel towards his children after the loss of his first child, Freya, but according to Mikael, he always favored Rebekah, among his other children, probably because she was his daughter and is very similar in appearance to Freya. Rebekah probably loved Mikael because he is her parent, but one day she tried to kill Mikael, while he slept, so he would no longer hurt Klaus, but was stopped by Elijah. Later, when Mikael attacked Klaus in front of Rebekah, she defended her brother by grabbing the sword, which greatly annoyed Mikael. After the death of their young child, , Henrik, Mikael forced his wife Esther to turn all their children into the immortal, so as not to lose them, as well as Henrik and Freya. When the Mikaelson family became the original family of vampires, Klaus killed Esther and told all the other members of his family (Finn, Elijah, Kol and Rebekah) that their father did it, causing Rebekah to develop her hatred for her father. Mikael, oppressed because of the death of Esther, began hunting for Klaus and his other children, including Rebekah for a thousand years. However, present day, Elena Gilbert told Rebekah that her mother had was killed by Klaus, not Mikael, making Rebekah heartbroken. When Mikael and Rebekah met, he looked confused in front of her, he tried to justify himself before his daughter, but Rebekah did not want to hear. She accused Mikael of wanting to kill Klaus, even though Klaus was Rebekah's family. She left him, her emotions towards her father now conflicted. Their final meeting was Rebekah in the body of Eva Sinclair, where Rebekah showed rage while Mikael seemed pleased to see her safe, where she watches Klaus kill Mikael. Rebekah does mourn Mikael's death and show sympathy towards Freya's grief and even some anger at Klaus for killing him.

Elena and Rebekah

Rebekah and Elena were originally enemies until becoming allies and partners-in-crime in Because the Night. There's a commonality between humanity-free vampire Elena and Rebekah that makes their pairing a lot of fun. The dark, humanity-free Elena ends up returning it with snipes of her own, converting their conversations into playful banter. Rebekah may be confounded at times with this new side of Elena, but she is also discovering someone who she can connect with now. The two of them have both experienced the life of being over-protected and being restricted from making independent decisions. When Elena got her humanity back, she told Rebekah that they are not friends.

  • If Rebekah was to truly follow Norse traditions, her surname should technically be Mikaelsdotter (daughter of Mikael) as oppose to Mikaelson (son of Mikael).

Tropes[]

  • Rebekah is a no holds barred Alpha Bitch !
  • Like Klaus, she is proof that Blonds are Evil : she is aggressive, spiteful and vindictive.
  • She is a Femme Fatale : beautiful, free spirited and manipulative.
  • I hate you, Vampire Dad - With good reason: it was her own biological father who turned her into a Vampire... then decided it was an evil he had to eliminate from the surface of Earth.
  • Despite her youthful appearance, she is really 1000 years old .
  • Her own mother, Esther, possessed her body in Season 3.
  • Suffers from Chronic Backstabbing Disorder - on the receiving end. Both metaphorically and literally.
  • Although she looks like the Dumb Blond, she actually has Hidden Depths . Although externally she is an Alpha Bitch , she is deeply hurt by being betrayed so many times. Deep down she just wants to be a normal girl and go to a dance without being stabbed in the back or poisoned.
  • With all that has happened to her, it turns out she has a very good reason to destroy everytimg.
  • To save herself, her brothers and the entire vampire race, she did what she had to do , and killed Elena.
  • A Day in the Limelight - frequent flashbacks that focus on her history and her family's.
  • And I Must Scream - Shared with family. When an Original is daggered, it leads to immediate desiccation. Also when the daggers are removed, the awakening is rather painful as well.
