In I'll Remember, Dean made a brief appearance in the auto shop along with Stefan. When Stefan complained about the money Dean had wrongly cut from his paycheck after a customer lied about Stefan harming his car, Dean essentially told him that he could deal with it or find a new job, and Stefan begrudgingly dropped the subject.
In Welcome to Paradise, Stefan returned to his place of employment the morning after Enzo killed his girlfriend Ivy and compelled him to bury her body for him while he went to Mystic Falls to kill Enzo in retribution. Because Ivy returned as a vampire at the end of Black Hole Sun, it was implied that she killed Dean when he tried to bury her.
In The World Has Turned and Left Me Here, Ivy confirmed that she did, in fact, kill Dean, whose blood completed her transition into a vampire.
Dean was an intimidating bully. He often belittled his employees, especially when they called him out on his cheating.
