The Bennett Talisman was a mystical object owned by Emily Bennett, that was meant to unlock the tomb where 26 vampires were imprisoned. However, realizing the dangers of if the vampires escaped, Emily destroyed the talisman 145 years later, after she possessed Bonnie Bennett and set fire to it.

HistoryEdit

The Bennett Talisman was originally created by Emily Bennett. Emily used the energy of an over-passing comet, to empower the crystal with enough magic to seal the vampires inside a tomb located under Fell's Church. In order for the crystal to be activated again, the comet had to pass over Mystic Falls, but it would take over 100 years for the comet to return. The crystal was created by the request of Damon Salvatore, who promised to protect Emily's children, if she would save Katherine Pierce's life. Emily bewitched the crystal and gave it to Katherine on her last night, before she was taken to the Vampire's Tomb. Damon Salvatore hid it in the Lockwood Mansion and took it some years after hoping it would open the tomb and he would let Katherine out where they would live happily ever after. Emily then possessed Bonnie's body and destroyed the necklace forever.

TriviaEdit

When Luka Martin and Bonnie Bennett destroyed the Moonstone it called for a spell, however, when Emily Bennett destroyed this Talisman, it called for no spell at all. This may be due to the fact that Emily is a much more capable witch than Bonnie is and was powerful enough to destroy a talisman with no incantation.
