There is another time warp. Elena says two months have passed since ("As I Lay Dying").

• In Tennessee, Klaus and Stefan visit a house looking for Ray Sutton. The girls give up Ray's location, but Klaus order Stefan to kill them anyway.
• They find Ray in the bar and torture him to find the location of his pack.
• Elena keeps looking for clues about Stefan's and Klaus' whereabouts. Damon follows the leads but is not giving information to her - because it's Stefan who is doing all the killings and he wants to protect her.
• Caroline throws a huge party for Elena's 18th birthday, although Elena is not in a party mood. Damon returns her the necklace.
• Stefan kills Andie to convince Damon to stop following them. Damon tells him that Elena won't let him quit.
• Jeremy tells Matt that he has been seeing Vicki's ghost.
• Caroline and Tyler finally have sex with each other. She sneaks out of the Lockwood's Mansion, when she touches her purse, her hand burns. Carol shoots her with what appears to be vervain until she passes out on the floor. ("The Birthday")

August 24Edit

It's the next day after ("The Birthday") They are reporting on Andie's death on TV. Its also the full moon.

• Klaus has been tracking werewolves for 2 months and he finally finds where the pack meets for the full moon. All Elena had to do was ask Tyler, who gave her the map to the place. I always said torture is not an efficient way of getting information...
• Klaus feeds his blood to the whole werewolf pack, but they don't transform into hybrids like he hoped - they all die or he has to kill them.

• Elena kidnaps Alaric to go an a werewolf hunting excursion to the mountains, although it's the full moon and they might just die. Alaric calls on Damon for muscle. They have a face down with Ray, who is in werewolf form even though the moon is not full yet. Stefan saves Damon.
• Carol Lockwood has Caroline vervained and chained to a chair. She calls Bill Forbes to help her.
• Tyler discover that his mother has put vervain on his coffee and confronts her. When she says that Caroline is a monster, he takes his mother to the dungeon and forces her to witness his transformation.
• Jeremy asks Matt to help him contact Vicki. Anna warns that "darkness" surrounds Vicki's presence. ("The Hybrid")

August 26Edit

Caroline is still imprisoned in the special cell under the jailhouse, and her mother, the Sheriff has not yet started a missing person search, so, lets assume only one or two days have passed.

• Caroline's father (Bill Forbes ) tries to torture the vampire out of her.
• Klaus takes Stefan to visit Chicago. He wants to ask the witch Gloria why he is not being successful making his hybrids. Gloria says that she needs to ask the Original Witch, and for that she needs a token from the witch, and that Rebekah has what she needs.
• Klaus takes the dagger out of Rebekah. When she wakes up, he releases Stefan from the compulsion to forget about them, and Stefan finally remembers their relationship in 1922 .
• Katherine tells Damon that Stefan is in Chicago, so he and Elena go there to get him. Damon leaves Elena in Stefan's old apartment while he goes searching for Stefan. She is almost discovered by Stefan and Klaus who were also visiting the apartment, as Klaus tries to re-establish his bond with Stefan.
• While Damon distracted Klaus, who almost kills him. He is saved by Gloria. Elena tries to vervain Stefan. He tells her he does not want to go back, and warns her again that she must remain hiding because Klaus is about to find out that his hybrids are not surviving because she is still alive.
• Tyler and Sheriff Forbes rescue Caroline. This shows that she has finally accepted Caroline's "lifestyle. She imprisons Bill to wait for vervain to leave his system. ("The End of The Affair")

August 28Edit

It has been previously established that it takes two or three days for vervain to clear the system.

• Bill Forbes is still imprisoned. Sheriff Forbes brings Damon to compel him to forget about Caroline.
• Damon and Elena are bonding. Alaric does not approve of it, and tells Damon to "take a beat".
• Gloria is looking for the necklace. When she does a spell, the necklace burns Elena, Gloria has a vision of Elena and her friends talking about Stefan. She tortures Stefan, and finds out that the doppelgänger is alive. He is rescued by Katherine.
• Jeremy can see and talk with Anna.
• At the Council's meeting, Bill Forbes let Liz and Damon know that the compulsion did not hold. When Damon confides to Alaric that he wants to kill Bill, Alaric says it won't happen - so Damon kills Alaric. He bites Bill, although he says he has no intention of killing him. Nonetheless, Bill is saved by Caroline.
• Damon has a fight with Elena. He has been playing nice, but everybody is on his case, and he is tired of playing nice.
• Bonnie tries to find out about the necklace, but the spell goes wrong. Anna warns that there is a darkness around. Jeremy sends Anna away and confesses to Bonnie that he has been seeing the ghosts of his dead vampire girlfriends.
• Stefan asks Rebekah about Mikael, and kisses him. She can tell that he has been lying and that he is "not with them".
• Back to life, Alaric decided that he needs a voice in the Council, and claims the "Gilbert Chair".
• Katherine shows up to steal the necklace, and also learn that Jeremy is seeing ghosts of his dead girlfriends. She calls Damon for a roadtrip. ("Disturbing Behavior")

August 31Edit

It's the night before first day of school - Senior Prank Night.

• Caroline convinces Elena, Tyler, Bonnie and Matt that they must participate of Senior Prank Day, to "create memories".
• Katherine stole the Necklace and recruited Damon. He eventually discovers that she has also kidnapped Jeremy. They question Anna about Mikael. She reveals that he is a vampire who hunts vampires, and that he was trapped by a witch in a tomb, in the 90s.
• Klaus breaks into the school, feeds Tyler his blood and breaks his neck. He tells Bonnie to find out why his hybrids are not working out, or Tyler will die.
• He compels Stefan that he must bite Elena at the end of 20 minutes. Elena tries to convince him that he can feed on her and not kill her, but he does not trust himself. He ends up trying to stake himself not to bite her.
• Klaus compels Stefan to switch off his humanity.
• Unable to reach her Grimoires or talk to the spirit of the witches, Bonnie is out of resources. Matt has the idea that if he can talk to the ghost of Vicki he might ask her. Without any magical resources, Matt drowns himself in the pool. While Bonnie is doing CPR, he talks to Vicki, who tells him that Elena has to die.
• Klaus decides that since the Original Witch is always messing up with him, that Elena must live, so he uses Elena's blood to complete Tyler's transition.
• Klaus successfully turns Tyler into his first hybrid.
• When Damon tells Klaus that Mikael is coming for him, Klaus skips town, and leaves Stefan behind to watch over the "living blood bag" - Elena. ("The Reckoning")
