Alejandra Vargas was a character who appeared in the third book of The Originals novel series. She was a human who had lived in New Orleans along with her father and twin brother, Tomás. She had become the new fortune-teller at the Southern Spot, but was in secret a member of the Cult of Janus and planning on ending the vampire race with her brother.

The Resurrection[]

She first met Elijah at the Southern Spot when he was trying to find Klaus, and she reads his palm, telling him about his future. Afterwards, Elijah didn't want to risk getting caught with her and when he steps into the an abandoned house, he spins and kisses her, with the two proceeding to make love to each other. She is then trying to manipulate Elijah into turning his back against his siblings, using their family promise as manipulation. She then lied to him about how Klaus was just using his army as a ruse against the Collado Werewolves and that he was working with them instead, which Elijah believed.

When she and Elijah arrive at her place, it is revealed that she was in cahoots with her twin brother to end the vampire race, using her relationship with Elijah to distract him. It is also revealed that they used vinaya powder with some witch enchantment that would allow any human to control any vampire who ingested it. After fooling him a little while longer, Klaus and Rebekah figure things out and Klaus goes after her in vengeance, killing her by decapitation.

Afterwards, her twin brother, Tomás Vargas, tries to avenge her and their father's death, but he meets his demise as well.

She was a seductive and clever manipulator, which she used to her advantage so she could get close to Elijah.

Physical Appearance[]

She was described as being as tall as Elijah with curling black hair and startling green eyes. She also had a sharp, strong chin and a high forehead.

  • Alejandra is a Spanish name and it means "Defender of mankind". It's a feminine version of Alexander.
  • Vargas is of Spanish and Portuguese meaning. Topographic name means "hut" or "slope".
